This is the second time I went looking for this cache first time I didn’t find it but this time I finally got it! I was debating whether to go because of the rain but even though a random person watched me struggle to try not to slip over it was fun! I highly recommend on a sunny day and I’m warning you it’s slippery!

I was pleased to get my hands on this cache today. It was certainly not an instant find but I tracked it down after 5 minutes or so.
Unfortunately the cache is in very poor condition and could benefit from a freshening up. I did manage to make my mark on the soggy log sheet.
Thanks very much for the cache.

Even tough someone has logged amd dnf and needs maintenance, I elected to give this one a nudge. My 1st cache in a Hamilton I think.
Nice wander. Got to the gz and a methodological search and boom came up trumps.

We found this surprisingly fast considering the previous comments. Lovely walk that we have never done before. Log was too mushy to write on.

08-Dec-19
Took longer than it should have done. Checked initially but didn't find. Widened search then returned and found this well hidden cache

26-Nov-19
Went on an after work run to this spot and flew right past it the first time! It took a wee while to find but I got there eventually! The log book is very mushy and needs some attention, but there was some waterproof paper in there. TFTC.

Was quite wet but it was there. TFTC

A nice walk in here after work today. Quite amusing to be using one of these containers at work and then come and find it being used as a geocache container - I wasn't expecting that! Great hide - rural spot in an urban area,TFTC Smile

Nice easy find abit wet

30-Jun-19
Found the stone based on other people's photos but there was nothing there. It looked like there had recently been a clean up and replanting along the path so possibly removed by workers

Beautiful walk.

23-Feb-19
We found it. Cool as track! Go to it

09-Feb-19
Another drive to another area I've never been to before, a short walk up the path and the cache was in my hand. I tipped out as much water as I could and was glad someone had put in some waterproof paper. Signed and was on my way. TFTC.

Well after finally finding an old DNF today, I remembered this one from way back (DNF 28/12/13) and thought maybe two in a row? Hell yeah... got it! The only thing is the cache was water logged, so I couldn't sign the log (I took I photo as proof though). TFTC

23-Nov-18
Have been meaning to collect this cache for a considerable time, was coming back from Ragan and thought that this was as good a time as any! Cheers.

14-Nov-18
Easy cache, bank a bit slippery though. Didn’t have a pen so couldn’t write in log book. dropped travel bug.

07-Oct-18
Out with P to get the 100 for his trip to the mega Nice climb for us oldies TFTC

06-Oct-18
JB, TT & I are on a day-trip to Hamilton specifically to grab this cache I needed to complete GC5JJ7E 0-100 Cache Challenge to grab on route to WENZ Mega 2018 later this month.
Also to retry a few DNFs from over the years. And finally, to grab some great caches to qualify for the Caching Connoisseur souvenir. We started the day turning a couple of DNFs into a smileys. But we’ve also scored two more DNFs enroute here. Fortunately it was an easy find as there are only a couple more caches containing the number 100 in their cache ID and they are a lot further away. TFTC
Back onto the Caching Connoisseur souvenir hunt... before heading back home to New Plymouth **before dark**.

06-Oct-18
Out helping P to reach the #100 in this GC number - for a challenge cache that is. Travelled up from New Plymouth to specifically get this one. That's dedication for you. Tftc

30-Sep-18
Thanks- will come back and refresh log book and plastic bag- we live across the park

15-Sep-18
A nice walk in the dappled afternoon sunshine between the trees. Read Supernanny's log and decided not to climb the bank. The cache was soon in hand. The old logbook is waterlogged mush and probably needs removing at some point. TFTC.

01-Sep-18
Came up the track from the lower end pushing the bike in front of me, and boy was it slippery and muddy. No problems once at GZ, and cache quickly in hand. Continued up the track to the road, TFTC

Oops, nearly forgot to log this - visited with Crusaderwoman on a windy but otherwise nice day. TFTC

20-Feb-18
Braved the trees while a cyclone brewed, signed the cache and moved on quickly. Thanks to the previously finder for the cleaner log sheet.

18-Feb-18
Thanks for bringing me here pzychrn.
Was just considering the wisdom( or not ) of clambering up that bank hmmmm.
I am famous for slipping and breaking bones.
However...I turned on my caching eyes and realised I did not need to climb.
( whoops...saw in description but thought it referred to climbing a tree )
Co ords spot on thanks...Added piece waterproof paper.

A journey from Kapiti to Whangarei was an ideal time to stop here and there and seek out some caches whenever the opportunity presented itself. Some of the caches were a bit of a challenge. I was accompanied by team geocacher Mr. T and we saw some beautiful scenery so it was an enjoyable trip. I was particularly excited to find this one as I need it to fulfil a challenge cache in Kapiti. Thank you for placing this cache and for taking the trouble to maintain it.

06-Feb-18
Cache is very wet but fun find, lost our pen so couldn’t write in it. Tftc

06-Jan-18
We were fortunate to find out about this cache being one of the key ones for a challenge the night before our planned trip to Hamilton. We hastily made plans to detour from our central city route to collect it.

Fortunately a quick find thanks to the excellent hint and reading recent logs. TFTC!

06-Jan-18
We were looking at caches the eve of a trip to the Tron, and fortuitously found an interesting challenge that required the number ‘100’ in the GC code, and this is one of the few in Aotearoa. We’re certainly not obsessed with caching, like employing grabaseat to visit Hamilton to geocache for the day — so we don’t feel bad about taxiing out here from the city centre and asking the friendly driver to wait while we rushed up this path, signed the damp log (quick find), and hurried back to the taxi. TFCF psychrn!

06-Jan-18
Was going to the supermarket today and overshot the entrance so decided to keep going and find a cache while I was heading this way nice climb up to the path and a bit of hunting around in the wrong area, ankles got munched to bits by mosquitos but made the find eventually. Not too wet considering recent rain. Thanks for the cache

25-Nov-17
Up in the Waikato for a family funeral. Had a chance to grab a few caches today. This one has been on my wish list as it means I can complete a challenge cache back home for which this one is only one of three in NZ that can be used for this challenge. So once found I was a very happy chappy. All in order. TFTC

TFTC made much harder than it needed to be clambering up muddy banks... when I finally engaged my brain it was much easier location

29-Sep-17
TFTC - enjoying an afternoon in Hamilton before the national bridge congress starting tomorrow. Time to find some caches, thanks for placing and bringing me to these interesting locations

02-Aug-17
I had to find another cache to have more smilies than frowns for today. Score 4 - 3.

Cheers for the cache.

18-Jul-17
Second find for us today . . . . . WOW, that was a whole lot of up to get to this one. Found, signed the new log sheet I have left here today and returned to it's hidey hole. TFTC

15-Jul-17
After circling around, I found the right entrance to the park area and GZ. The log was really soaked, but I managed to squeeze it dry so that I could make a couple of marks on it. This one needs a dry log. TFTC.

30-May-17
Looked everywhere and could not find

A night mission to Hamilton with Philip.Perry and ApacheD. We only decided tonight to come over so didn't really have a plan of attack other than to start at one cache and just keep going for as long as we could. I did have a 7 am curfew which I made just in time then I sleeped half the day away. We learnt it's so much easier to cache at night no traffic no parking issues no muggles we had a fairly successful night and I look forward to our next night attack.signed logs PAD
Tftc

27-May-17
An impromptu all night affair with no muggles, no traffic and all the parking we could want! Set off with ApacheD & Davidsonclan around 7pm with a couple of sneaky Tauranga caches before starting the 'Hamilton Assault' It was a productive 10 hours in spite of the weather & DNFs. Signed our logs as PAD to save time and log space.
Had a bit of a laugh here as everything we could see seemed to comply with the hint, never the less - it didn't take long. Cheers psychrn, TFTC.

#3287. The family have been up in Auckland for the past week on holiday and today we are heading south to Rotorua. We detoured over here to pick up this cache, the only one we did in the Waikato today. This cache was on my list as I needed a cache GC code with 100 in it for the 0-100 Cache Challenge (GC5JJ7E). I have had the other 99 caches for ages but caches with 100 in the code are pretty rare in New Zealand. So today I was heading up the path to find this cache. Good coordinates and a quick check of options and had the cache in hand in the first place checked. Signed the log and replaced as found. Time to head south. Favourite for giving me the final cache for the challenge. Also just noticed that it was hidden in Dec 2006 and fills another spot on month hidden grid. So that's a bonus. Thanks for the cache.

12-Nov-16
I've tried a couple of times to find this cache but found the banks too slippery so I had to give up so I was pleased to see that it has got a more user friendly location.

12-Oct-16
Normally I pull a face when hubby has to go away for work but in this instance it was Hamilton and there just happened to be a cache there that would get me over the line for qualifying for a cache down in Waikanae where you have to have 100 finds and each find has to have one of the numbers from 1-100 in it. There are not many with "100" so this was special. Told hubby to not come home without it as it had recently been replaced and no one had found it when I looked so it had to be there. Was thrilled to get the text that he had indeed found, signed and rehidden it and was on his way back to Auckland to get the plane home. Many thanks for placing this cache.

04-Sep-16
Was clearing out some of my lists and discovered that although I had found this cache on my trip north in September, I had failed to log it until now.

On my way up the line for a week of r&r and stopped for a couple of nights in Hamilton to pick up some caches. Back in Hamilton after completing the power trail from Ngaruawahia to Huntly and caches in Huntly. Still time in the day for more caches. This one is most exciting as it qualifies me for a challenge cache in Waikanae. Quickly located the likely spot for the cache and there it was. TFTC

Replaced. Now a BGL strip test container. Sitting in the fork of a native

01-Mar-16
Eaten by mosquitoes & couldn't find the cache.

30-Dec-15
Found the stump the hint was likely referring to, but couldn't spot the container anywhere, even after expanding the search area. Perhaps it's gone?? Sad

11-Oct-15
Great clamber around, finally found it! Surprising how many of that type of hiding places are around when you're just looking for one!!!;-) does need maintenance tho, but thanks for it still!

06-Oct-15
Cache needs a new spot to hide.

06-Oct-15
Not where it should have been. Log book in one place, container in another. We have emailed the CO with where we re-hid it.
