Not sure how but one of the gps unit said there was a cache here even thoe all three were updated together before the trip. still was glad we came in here and was amazed at the size of the dunes and how they only run for a short way up the coast. There is one dune that is slowly making its way into the turning circle near the parking area. Thankss for bringing us in here even if there no cache to be found.

At this moment we are not able to check the cache. We will do ASAP. But at the maintime, their is nothing to stop you to visit this area and log your visit. This dune is worth to see. Enjoy.
We also failed to find this cache. It does look like recent work has burried this cache.
We looked everywhere, used the clue and still didn't find it. There seems to have been a bit of work around the rocks near the 4x4 track. Oh well one for next time we're in Tassie.
We found this cache on the way from Zeehan to Strahan. The rain cleared and we had a play on the mountainous sand dunes. TFTC.
Found on our way to Strahan. There were many beautiful bird calls while we visited. This place conjures up ideas of lots of fun sliding down the sand dunes. Great spot

Went for a quick scramble up the dunes for a look (who could resist) and found the cache before we left. Thanks for bringing us back here!
Pulled in here close to dark and quickly grabbed the cache. What a great place so we stayed for the night. So nice to find a place where you could actually go to the toilet in the bush and light a fire with permission. It's places like this that people respect the most because it's not illegal to look sideways. Teen M had a ball collecting firewood and getting a fire going and we cooked toast using the forked sticks we found. First time in ages we have done this and it was great to sit, relax and sip our hot chocolates before putting out the fire and going to bed knowing we weren't breaking any laws. Had fun on the dunes as well. This was one to remember, thanx polfil. from Mrs M and from teen M. TFTC
We are on an “Escaping Christmas” and “Geocaching” holiday in Tasmania. We were on our way to Stanley and dropped in to find this one. They are certainly huge sand dunes – although I have to say the ones we have at home at Stockton Beach are a little more spectacular! We pulled up very close to GZ and quickly located the cache. TNLNSL TFTC
DNF - Tried to find this one on our way through but no luck for us today. We had a fairly common GZ that was in a pile of "clues" but we couldn't find anything around them. We then widened our search by a radius of about 10 - 15 metres and tried around any "clue" we could find but still nothing. Thanks for pointing out this great location anyway polfil.
We found ourselves up this way to check out the sand dunes and we got two surprises. Firstly, there was a cache there and we found it, and secondly, the 4 wheel motor bikes were awesome fun on the sand dunes. TFTC
Thanks for reinstating the cache. We arrived early evening and found the area deserted which enabled us to make a quick search and find. We didn't go wandering over the dunes but the one we could see from the car park was quite impressive. TFTC
GPS was struggling to get a position fix out on the road - let alone in here under the trees - hint didn't really narrow it down either
It was very quiet here today, found cache, signed the log and dropped in a geo coin. I

Unfortunately due to time constraints and the previous DNF's logged against this one we didn't stop to check. Hope that this remains active in an area where caches are few and far between. Cheers
Agree with Bundy, looked all around and found the spot we think it should have been but alas, no cache.
99.9% sure this one has gone. Found a perfect rectangular empty hole at GZ, in the position as described in the hint, and a scattering of pieces of wood that could well have covered the cache nearby. I would guess the cache was a small systemia container, or very similar. I had a good look around to see if it had been thrown into the scrub, but no good.
Cheers

Took my breath away getting to the top of the dune and then again on the slide to the bottom. Views weren't bad either from the highest dune we could find. Was a big kid at heart here. Thanks for the fun.
Found 11:45am with Cattledog81 while travelling around Tasmania. Would have liked to have some more time to check out the dunes and go on a 4X4 tour. Next time! TNLN thanks.
I remember coming here when I was a kid and climbing to the top with a boogie board and sliding all the way down, so much fun. Today we could not because it was raining and blowing to gale but anyway its such a great spot, any one who reads this be sure to take the kids they will remember it forever and laugh lots, take something to slide on. Found cache with not too much trouble took silver token left frognchook keyring. Thanks polfil

GPS did not want to play the game in here. Took a good 10 minutes before coming up with the goods. Thanks for showing us the area.
Wow what a sand hill or too!! Scrambling to the top was a load of fun as one slipped back as fast as you struggled up!
Found the booty after the GPS had us going all over the shop, but after giving the machine a good talking too we located GZ.
Thank for the hunt and taking us to Henty sand dunes. [^]

What a great spot. There is no hint of the dunes from the road. You are just driving through a wall of trees. Take a little detour to the west and bingo, 30m high sand dunes!
After finding the cache we spent a good 30 minutes exploring the dunes. Very steep to climb up. But all worth it for the race down.
Thanks for taking us here. Other wise I would have just driven by with out noticing.

08:34 Found on our Touring Tassie and Beyond 2009 Trip!
Our first stop for the day on the way from Strahan to Seffield via Tasmazie.
This one took us a few minutes to find, before A eventually stumbled upon it hiding nice and safely. All the time we could hear voices of muggles just over the dune, but thankfully they didn't appear with their camera's until just not as we get in the car.
Nice and cool here today

Climbed the dunes for a look around. Had a great time sliding down back to the car. TFTC
On our way from Strahan to Cradle Mountain, on a cold and wet day, and with the GPS in MY hands, we made for a quick stop here, or so we thought. The signal was bouncing us around several possibles, but as per the hint, we had the cache in our hands.
Left a crayon and took a packet of minature dice.

On our way north from Strahan to Cradle Mountain, we did a quick stop to grab this one. Tried several locations (as per the clue), but due to signal bounce it took a few minutes or 3 more than expected.
Cold and wet day after having such good weather the previous day.
Left blue foot bottle opener and took blue knight.
TFTC and the leg stretch.

Amazing place another spot we would never have seen without geocaching. Thank you so much for showing us this place. Took nothing left mini dice. TFTC
Would've been more fun if the cache was hidden amongst the awesome rolling dunes themselves... Camped in the dunes that night, which were lovely in the moonlight, though we missed the sunset unfortunately. Slightly noisy with the 4-wheelers hooning around everywhere, but they left handy tracks in the sand for navigating our way back. Went for a walk to the beach next day, (huge, impressive and deserted!) Thanks for placing a cache here, these dunes and beach are well worth a visit.
Grabbed this one after going through Strahan, Ocean Beach, and Macquarie Heads. Geokids loved zooming down the dunes, while geomum and I found the GZ. TFTC
Best part about this find was the tiny native orchid growing nearby. Unfortunately the camera wasn't up to the job of getting a decent pic. Enjoyed a romp on the sand and left our footprints in the sand. TNLF. TFTC.

GPS confused but after a bit of circling the cache was soon in hand.
Many thanks.
Many thanks.
Found it after work in Strahan. Wow what amazing sandhills! I have never seen any thing so extensive in Tasmania before though Queensland had red dunes by the 100's... This location is well worth the visit for many reasons, if only to see sand dunes swallow trees. The next time I am coming down here I am going to hire a sand board....
Dropped off the Never Stop GeoCaching GeoCoin. With places to visit like this you would never want to stop caching....

We picked this one up with Team Crackers, Pprass, Spruce Mooses, Dicko and Juzmac. There were quite alot of people around but no where near GZ, but trying to find parking for 6 cars, 2 with trailers was funny to watch.

Travelling with Spruce Mooses, Mr Coffee and Clan, Dicko and Juzmac we pulled up at this lovely picnic ground. There were quite a few muggles here but fortunately they were all occupied inside the shelter or playing on the sand dunes giving us an opportunity to search. Once at gz we fanned out and Mr Coffee came up with the goods.
TNLNSL and then we headed off for a play in the sand dunes

Found at 3.35pm GAFF5. We were looking on the wrong side of the track for ages and then Coffee strayed into the "unknown" to find the cache. We then were being urged to take a walk up the dunes by a European tourist and so not to be ashamed we obliged. Got some great photo's from the top. Thanks polfil.
Found by Mary & David at 1500. Another interesting place that caching has shown us. The littlest member of the expedition was fascinated by the pine needles. Those of us who didn't venture up the sandy slopes were treated to the bus drivers arguing about parking rights and wrongs after one had blocked the parking area loop track. TNLN. Our thanks again to polfil.
Nice easy find. Didn't make it over the sand dunes though!

Stopped for a quick break while cycling from Rosebery to Strahan. Had to hunt a little as the trees were playing havoc with the GPS. Thanks polfil. TNLN.
Found without too much hassle on a cold wet summer's day (what's this rain thing you have in Tassie? We don't get any of that in South Australia!).
We were impressed by the luridly purple berries growing around here. And we should have looked more closely at the dunes from here, because we couldn't see squat from the lookout, because of the rain!
TNLNSL.

The dunes were fantastic on a lovely summer day, but we were passing through, and there were far to many muggles. We had no chance to search without drawing unwanted attention, and no time to come back later.
We made a one week trip through Tasmania. The day before the last day, near the “Falmouth Blows Harder!†cache, the wind blew so hard that my notes were blown away. So, I have to log from my memory.
The cache was found soon. We did not like the place. It was dirty and damaged. Still, we climbed up a dune and then our opinion changed. We had a magnificent view while the sun was setting! Thanks for bringing us here!

It seems as if my Western trip is going to only net me the one cache, oh well, took the quadbike tour and loved it, but GZ is now a mound of sand (as per previous log entry). Also very tricky to get a good reading on the GPS due to the trees.
