I may be missing it by a mile but coords off a bit. Nice big park there is an opportunity for another cache
Came equipped with a hint today from previous finder but no joy. The Lantana does not help either. Cuts all over my arms now ouch!

GZ showed to be in the middle of grassland... looking in the nearby 7 trees.. the search is too large for a micro.. Can i suggest a co ords adjustment. Thanks
Visited it today on an 8 hour caching spree with club_bindi and JYGE.
We may have missed something here today but no prize for us. Will try again another time. I think the coords appear to be off and may need updating. TFTC.

Tricky find, parked car on side street towards Bunnings and it was a long walk to GZ. Thanks for the cache.
An eventually easy find after much looking and getting pricked multiple times! Cache ended up being 6-7 metres from GZ. The clue was the key! Found with geosister. TFTC!
We parked down the bottom as the gates where locked for cars and madea our way up the small ridge to begin or search. Initally we had not luck and tried a few spots. We distrubed a few rabbits at GZ and they hopped off across the field. A little more searching in a different location and we turned up the nice solid container. SL and replaced

Took me three goes to find this one, although the first go had no chance cause ''twas at night. Very good spot.
12:55, GAFF3, We located this one a few metres from where the GPSr was pointing, just about to give up, then we saw it from another angle.

Sneaky little hiding spot! Looked all around it, but only just happened to glance and see it by pure chance! Great way to finish off the day. Found with TomBEE. TFTC!
Found after much effort. Lots of unnecessary scratches it seems
Fantastic hiding place and beautiful spot.

Down from Queensland for a weekend raid with Tassiegirl13, Gunnie69, Kaisho53, Ghost Gums, lochb, La Kedi, an Rebel Acts.
We hunted here a lot longer than expected with no luck.
As we were calling it quits Ghost Gums had that one last look in the last spot and came up with the goods. Whew!

What a tricky hide..
Our group (GhostGums, Gunnie69, lochb, La Kedi, Rebel Acts., bedmaker and Tassiegirl13 arrived at GZ to find GPS had us sorta close but not quite there...
A bit of free style cacheing now came into play - as we were thinking of maybe calling a DNF a quick recheck of some areas already covered suddenly produced the required object (probably the 3rd time someone looked there )

This was, cache # 45 of 59 finds for the day, On our first day of the MCBC raid on Sydney. This one took us a few minutes to locate. My thanks to sspack for the cache.

Pack hunting in foreign territory with a group of QLD and VID cachers, we arrived near GZ to find a fence bewtween us and GZ... Hmm, do we or don't we... [?]
We looked around for signs but found nothing. Then we spotted muggles on the other side with their hound. OK, should be good to go... [^] All on the other side, we started our inbound trek while watching the arrow and counter. Arrived to find we all had a common GZ, but was at least 6m away from anything of use...
Time to ignore the GPS and hunt freelance. Checking here, looking there. A poke in there and scrape around that... Nothing... OK, you check that one and I'll check this one. Many eyes on the game but still no container and we burned up 1/2 hour very quickly... With frustration creeping in, I had suggested we call it quits on this one and head off. As I did, Ghostgums suggested that his GPS said "here" and maybe just one more quick look... As he did, he found the cache staring straight at him... No that was lucky...
A group sticker dropped into the log, we set sail for the temporary geomobiles.
Cheers feral five.

Found in the company of the MCBC - 2 of us from Vic, and 6 from Qld - on a weekend raid of Sydney caches.
This cache took way too long to be located! Ghostgum had been within centimetres from it on his first approach, but somehow missed it as he's a bit taller than the average cacher. Found after we'd reassessed the situation and tried one more time. Glad we didn't give up earlier. TFTC

Found at 4.10pm GAFF5 in the company of Blackie_71 and Browngang. A lovely location and good background information about the ownership. Thought Sydney's soil was too poor to grow produce - didn't the first settlers nearly starve?
We were going around in circles for a while and eventually found the cache some distance from GZ.
Thanks feral five.

Found on the way to a caching blitz to Canberra, from Port Macquarie with Blackie_71 and pprass. tftc. nice view from up here if it wasn't so smoggy
Great old farm in the middle of suburbia, I remember when it was all like this. Tricky hide but we got it just.
Another one from last night with a bright torch thankfully Sorry I didn't have my cache tool case on me to assist
Popped by on my way back from a work errand. Quick find and muggle free. The log is full though, unfortunately I had nothing on me to augment it so found a mostly blank section to sign. I suggest CO or next visitor brings a new sheet. Tftc!
nice walk on a glorious sunny day, and with a bonus GCA trig cache as well.

Visited for the 2nd time and struggles to find the cache at first, then ignored the previous photos as they tend to mislead. Also the gps was about 6m off, it was easy once we agreed where to look!
2nd find for the day. must have walked past it a dozen times. It's a well worn path once you know where it is. Watch the ground cover, it can be sharp.
GPS was playing up and it was raining and really windy but we finally found it.
Bella Vista. It lives up to its name but today it also meant strong wings. On a day when the coast was being battered by winds in the 100 km/h mark it was also a tad windy up here.
Our second attempt at this one and after spending considerable time photographing the homestead picked this as the second area to search.
Nice hide Feral Five.

This was a really well placed cache, really enjoyed this one. We went during the evening, so made it a little tricky to find but the view was amazing & well worth it. Highly recommend going during the evening just for the view of this little area....TFTC

With the gates being locked as it was 7.45pm, I drove looking for a closer entry to walk in. Didn't find one. So back to the gates I went and parked on the road. I walked up to gz and when it took me to an area in the open field, I wondered where it might be. Logs and hint sortof helped, and my search continued up and down the hill and around all the huge trees. Then as I was looking, I spied the cache, just sticking out a bit. BAM, and the cache is mine (c). SL and returned to its little hidy hole. Oh and I didn't have to reach much at all TFTC

A quick lunchbreak hunt. Coordinates seemed to put us where the hint wouldn't work and on finding no skyhooks, moved to the nearest likely point and eureka! SL, thanks.
Number 14 of 16 on a long day of caching and the thought of a micro at GZ was not looking good. Suddenly charligirl managed to reach it with a few extra cms making all the difference to a "found but cannot log" for me.
Third find on a caching morning with Sensible Shoes who had previously found this and provided a small hint. Just managed to stretch far enough to reach it.

Wooohoooooo!!! Finally found this tricky tiny cache after my Garmin led me up to the row of trees - but this time it was pointing somewhere else even though I had the updated co-ords onboard. After foraging around the trees, careful those branches and the leaves are quite prickly, I called on some help from another fellow cacher (who didn't give it away but told me what I'd be looking for). Looking over to the next tree I spotted something that closely matched up to what I'd been given, and sure enough I had the cache in hand not long after that. Just be careful there are a few webs around "the hide" so not sure if there's any spider guardians - poked it carefully with my pen just to make sure.

a very pleasant find, this one. walked from the main entrance and using the "new" coordinates from the previous logs, I was brought straight GZ. My quickest find so far. TFTC!
2nd of 3 before work today, when I arrived at GZ my first thoughts was O S..t, will I find this 1, a quick scout around & found a well-worn cache trail, from there a process of elimination, nicely hidden this 1. The gate was locked so didn’t have a good look around. . TFTC / TFTH / SL
Nice quick find as the coordinates were very good as was the GPs coverage at the time. TFTC
Didn't have the benefit of previous logs. That's my excuse.
No point going out on a day of caching and preparing yourself. I work on the process of deciding on a cache we are going for before leaving home, after that what's the next closest one.
Great views, and an awesome avenue of bunya pines. We'll be back, better prepared.

Last one for the day, took a while to find, I don't know if coordinates are a bit off or gps was just going a bit haywire. Great view point down onto the new hospital one side and big Bella vista houses the other!
We live close but have actually never been to this park. Was a nice day for a walk. TFTC
Found it, our second attempt but Bella Vista farm is worth more than one visit. We will go to the next open day to look at the old home stead. The log is full but we added a piece of note paper as an interim measure.TFTC
We did not find it but it was fun walking and exploring with my two sons. We will return with the other set of co-ordinates described in the older logs. The bunya pines are great and we might return when they are in season - as they are meant to be great bush tucker.
The geoson was at an ice skating party nearby so I went for a few local caches while I waited. Interested in the history of this place and happy to learn that the suburb "Bella Vista" was not the product of some marketing w@nkers in real estate but had a basis in history. Gate the to sports field was locked so parked in the street and went for a walk. Got to the top of the hill and looked back over the sea of McMansions - lucky this area was saved. I hope they do something with it like Fagan Park in Arcadia.
GPSr put me a few metres from the likely candidates and a pretty quick search led me to the right spot. Log is completely full - had to write in a space of someone with a short name. Next person could bring a small roll of paper? Thanks!

NickoHeap had the GPS for this one, and he suddenly stopped in the middle of nowhere and said he was at GZ. That didn't seem right, given there was some more likely spots a short distance away, so I took a read of the logs. I found an alternative set of coordinates and these took me right to the cache. So the coordinates are off a bit, but if you follow those quoted in Gazmag's cache, you should find it easily. The farm was interesting - quite a huge area, given the density of the housing nearby - and the house had a style that isn't found anywhere else in the area. My wife liked this one best (our last for the day) with its views across the suburb, and several rabbits going about their business. Thanks.
This was my pick of the areas we did today- a lovely spot which will be even better when the weeds nearby are cleared. An easy find once we used all the logs and had a closer co-ordinates set. Not the sort of cache i'd expected here! TFTC Woo Hoo! It was also my 200th cache!- very special!

Thx opulia for the updates co-ords. It certainly made a difference in locating the cache.
It also good to see theses places are being preserved and not taken over by progress.
Great views to go with it.

The GPS gods played havoc with me on this one. I phoned a friend who gave me a vague hint so I started searching again.
Finally, I found it a signed the log just as it started raining.

Back for a 2nd try after a long break. The area has been cleared a bit since I was last year, and today the sporting field gates were open which allowed us to park a bit closer. Tried with some of the revised coordinates and had the little container in hand after a short hunt. Thanks sspack.
I agree with "opulia" log of 10 Jun 10, the coordinates are a fare way off, those suggested by "opulia" of S 33° 44.529 E 150° 57.259 are far better!!

It was great to have the chance to visit the historic Bella Vista Farm and enjoy the view -- at least, the panoramic view in two directions. On another side, more housing has begun to encroach on this famous site as Sydney continues to expand, but lots of open land remains around here. And I was almost completely alone today in my search -- at about 11:30am on a week day -- except for one young mum taking her toddler for a walk.
I think the main problem with the cache is that the published coordinates are about 7 metres off. A number of geocachers have reported this observation, so I don't think it's just my GPSr. You stand there on a wide grassy patch and wonder where in heck a micro could be hidden!
Of course, the earlier online geocacher logs helped me a lot, and the clue is excellent. I cut up my hands on very sharp conifer branches, and resorted to parting the hanging boughs with a stick. You don't have to do this. Save your hands and even a nasty poke in the eye. These things are very pointy indeed.
I won't say more except to advise you to read the earlier logs, as I did, and profit from the advice. That damn little thing is really there, even somewhat visible.
Log scroll is dry but worn out and full. I found a spot to write the date and my name.
Will attach some photos to commemorate my visit.
Thanks to sspack for setting up this adventure. It was an interesting place to visit, on a windy but sunny winter's day.

This area was pretty nice, I have friends who live in Bella Vista and have driven past the soccer field but didn't know how far it extended back over the hill. There are remnants of farming long ago, fence stumps with rusted wire, some old iron implements and piping, but the real gem is the open grassy area overlooking the rest of the Bella Vista area.
The co-ords for the cache were a decent way off, I set my Oregon to average the actual co-ords of the cache is over a 30min window and and got S 33° 44.529 E 150° 57.259. Just beware of the trees as pjmpjm noted, they're a pain! (pun intended)
