Hiked up the hill this morning with a muggle sister. We had tried to beat the heat, but didnt get there early enough. At least we were back at the car before midday, somewhat fatigued by the intensity of the humidity. There was a storm brewing and it must have somehow messed with my GPS because it took me forever to find the cache. Not a problem, I got it in the end. And the rock scramble was enjoyable. It was great to take in those views too!! The summit was a lovely spot to spend a bit of time. Thank you
A great morning walk and fantastic chat to fellow cachers. Finally found this great old Tradie.TftcGeorode
An event nearby was the excuse that I needed to grab a smiley for this cache. This mountain is definitely one of the easier of the climbs, but considering I'm pretty unfit at the moment, I ended up arriving in the Tortoise Group rather than the Hare Group. Story of my life, really. There was a good sized group of cachers who made the trek up the mountain this morning, and it was a lovely day for a mountain climb. The cache was signed ShaDup; Shazzar66 & Duppers, our team name. Thanks Just a Trifle, for placing a cache up here for us to find, and for the maintenance of over 17 years. A FP for durability.
Well, I have looked at doing this cache by myself a few times, and always thought it might need a friend or two just to make sure we get there. And seeing that here was a Event at the top, joining it proved I was right and this is not one to do by yourself (unless quite fit).So headed off with geo-dad (who is 77) and a much younger cacher, Caught up to Wanda and decided to join her in making sure we would all get to the top. Enjoyed the conversation and such getting there. And then able to grab a TRAF while there too, bonus!
Attended a nearby event which created the perfect excuse to come up the hill to collect this oldie. In great condition with original logbook.
Up the hill for an event so of course we couldn't ignore this vintage offering. Many thanks for placing this great container which is still in fabulous condition
At the event here today. So i did this cache nice quick find. log signed and all replaced as found. TFTC.
After 17 years of driving past this one and a number of false starts, I finally made it to the top today! I have no idea why it's taken so long but I'm glad that I've finally made it. It's always good to find a good sized cache in a great area. An early morning event saw many gather in the carparking area before heading to the top for some great views. I soon had the cache in hand as the co-ords were spot on for me.A FP from me.TNLNSLTFTC
Geo son called and as it is his birthday, did the pick up and bring him along to a nearby event, This cache has been on my TODO list for just on three years, and after many trip past on nearby road, was often overlooked, either because I was alone, or the weather was either raining or too hot, today was very pleasant, sunny morning, not many clouds, and being in a group of a 12 or 15, other geocachers, help was available if needed, Thanks Just a Trifle, hide is in good condition
Just a Trifle I found your cache SADDLEBACK on 20/3/2024, 1:30pm. This is my find 6458 and find # 7 today. First part of the walk was an easily stroll. Then you come to see where you have to be. There is a track to follow. All worth it once youre at the top. Great views. The cache took a while to find, not where I thought it would be. Once I expanded my search area soon came across some SPOR and the cache. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
After grabbing a few caches further north we were on our way back to Caboolture and considered grabbing this cache. Yes, no, yes, no, maybe ahhh I have enough time for one more cache so lets hope its a quickie. We parked at the car park and made our way along the trail. Things looked rather promising, nothing to strenuous at this stage, perfect! However that changed when our target was in sight, well that wasnt expected. After an few breaks to get our breath back we arrived at the summit and admired the beautiful view, this is why we do this, its the places caching brings us and the scenery we get to see.Oh yes, the cache! After a brief search the cache was in hand and we popped our names in the log. Its always nice to see the original log in old caches too. Thanks for bringing us here.#4163 - TFTC
My last cache for the day and another hill climb. Well, it is not that bad of a hill climb. Nathan and I did a climb / walk up Ngungun this morning after a drive to Bribie for a ftf. this was a nice walk up and very easy, even in the heat of the day. The path is a little scattered, but we made good time going up. We had a look from both sides of the mountain. We found the cache and signed the log. It was the original logbook which was nice to read through. We replaced all as found and headed back down. I noticed the purple trunked trees on the way up and mentioned to Nathan. We used these as our guide for making our turn point on the trail. It was an awesome day, with just a few caches but ones of quality.

With SaintsMadHouse out of todays adventures as she wasn’t feeling well, I decided to head north alone today and grab a few of the older caches I just had not yet managed to clear once I had finished a nice relaxing acupuncture session.
This cache was today’s main goal, and seemed like I wasn’t going to be taking too much of a risk flying solo on this hike.
There was tape at the carpark suggesting monitoring of the area was happening due to people dumping stuff here, rather a sad sign of what the human race is like even in nice locations where you expect only those who appreciate nature to go.
Ensuring the car was locked and I had my backpack with water, I began following the track to the goat track turn off, where it was still quite easy to navigate my way along and up to GZ.
It then didn’t take me long to locate the cache, between fairly decent coordinates and a likely pile of rocks.
And as it was midweek and this is a lesser touristy mountain, I was able to sign the log and enjoy the views completely muggle-free here today.
Thanks for the cache Just a Trifle.

Have been wanting to get this cache for years. So today with BigRed02 we set off upwards. The track was easy to find and once at the top we searched for a while before the common phrase ‘That’s a suspicious pile of rocks ‘ was heard and surprise surprise there was the cache.
Thanks to everyone who ensures that these old caches stay alive.

A nice walk today to the summit. Fairly easy track with a bit of a rock scramble at the top. Fairly easy though. It was hot but not the high humidity like previous days so fairly pleasant. Cache was found and is in good condition. TFTC
Today, baby Warren and I had an early start with a northern drive to Caboolture to participate in parkrun, and we used the opportunity to complete [Central Lakes Caboolture](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/a7df1f4d-e91c-4a0f-adb0-023897a20506) Adventure Lab. It was then followed by [JaT's Community Celebration Event](https://coord.info/GC8K07H), where we had a lovely walk around the lakes area completing the [Caboolture - Centenary Lakes Park](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/9c0d34cf-53ca-4489-8daf-9b64d9ef7e7a) Adventure Lab. We finished our half-day excursion with a hike up Saddleback Mountain / Mount Elimbah, which was a pleasant and scenic walk.
In the afternoon, I took a drive to Mitchelton's [Secret Santa Picnic - Community Celebration Event](https://coord.info/GC8K08T), and then visited a few geocaches around Ferny Grove, of which I had been meaning to return to after not having the correct TOTT when we walked [I'm Hooked on Geocaching](https://coord.info/GC38CEN).
This walk wasn't too bad and a friendly mountain hike. My [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/8229580088) indicated that we walked a total distance of 2.1 km across an elevation of 96 m, with a moving time of 30 min. I think it was roughly 15 min to make the walk from the car park to the summit, with the first half reasonably flat, and then a good challenge to the fitness as the ascent kicked in.
Once at the summit, we admired the views within the vicinity, and then descended over the top to find the cache at a SPOR. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Just a Trifle for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 01/2007 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 500 oldest yet active geocaches.

What a great finish to our day out in this area.
With not too much daylight left, and seeing this one on the map which did not look too challenging given the limited time of daylight hours left, we parked the car at the bottom, in a very muddy car park and made our way to the top.
This cache ticks all the boxes. A bush track, a mountain to climb and spectacular views and what’s more, a very old Geocache right at the top.
Thanks Just a Trifle. FP added.

We met up with friends from the Sunshine Coast for some bushwalking. We have never climbed these two Glassshouse Mtns, and with an old cache on each, it was a good choice. This walk was very easy on a good track with great views north. At the summit I quickly spied a SPOR and there was the cache in very good condition for such an oldie with original logbook so a FP. Tftc
This cache was a target for me today… even though I don’t like heights… even if it’s only 109m….
An oldie, and it has the Cliffs/Falling Rocks attribute that I need for the latest crazy Challenge…
I followed the clear trail up, just pretending not to notice the Cliffs & Falling Rocks… once at GZ it didn’t take long to spot this favourite cache container… I took a moment to appreciate the view, though not from the edge, and drink some water…
Going down increased my heart rate as I had to look at something other than the rocks in front of me…
My friends joke about climbing Tibrogargan… WTF!!!

I was out with my youngest caching in the area today, collecting a few easy smileys before tackling our target for the day. We started out along the path but when the rocks came into view my geodaughter beat a hasty retreat to the car so I was left to push on alone. The climb up wasn't too much of a struggle, I'm not as fit as I was but even so I was up enjoying the breeze and the view before I knew it. A few quick photos and then another bit of a scramble to locate the cache. All signed and then back down to my intrepid companion in the car! Tftc, the exercise and the views [ ]
TFTC Came here with friends (all muggles) but had them all looking, took a awhile but soon I located the cache. Great location and enjoyed the walk and views immensely.
I am sitting at the top logging this with a lovely breeze blowing and awesome views. Parked at the sign and the trail was easy to follow to the top I marked a few waypoints just in case I needed them. After a short search the cache was spotted in its hidey place and its my favourite type of cache container! Log signed and replaced as found. Fav from me for showing me this place. Thanks Just a Trifle.
Ammo tin a few meters to the side of where the gos was giving me. Thank you.
Haven't done a cache in awhile but I came out here for a hike to see the view (which is absolutely B-E-A-utiful!) and once I got up here I thought I'd check and see if the was one here. I was happily surprised that there was and ceased the opportunity!

Well that was an easy find. My only problem was at the junction near the carpark. The GPS was indicating the correct direction, but I didn't know that just then. It was a hot and humid walk, so the breeze at the top was very welcome. I took some time to cool down before looking around. With all the options for a hide, I was pleased to find it rather quickly. There are a few entries from muggles and of course, the earlier entries are always entertaining to read. TN/LN, signed the log and spent a while admiring the view. Ahhh geocaching ... what a fine way to see the world.
It's definitely still here! Found in amongst all the possible sneaky hiding spots up here. We didn't realise there was a cache already up Saddleback. Came for the walk with my 5 yr old and thought we'd put one here ourselves, but we'll find another location. Tftc
Found several bongs but no cache. We spent an hour and a half up the top searching. Lost my shoes to the walk
TFTC, came up with my mate this morning, to try get him into this, he found it before me!
Left a pen cause the ones inside have had it.

I call grannysmith1947 so where are we going Sunday. She said “I want to climb Saddleback and Beerburrum and Echocage1 wants to come to.” Okay that sound good. I placed plantman19 on the list to. We pick up a few older’s today. Plus 5 other caches to.

What a great day for a walk. There has been a fire here recently so the walk up to the cache was clear of any long grass which made for easier walking. We met a young girl who was on her way down as we were on our way up and stopped to chat which gave us a chance for a breather. This is an easy climb with great views from the top. The cache is in good condition. SL TFTC
Very rare that I get to go caching on a Tuesday. However I work for a great organisation that rewards staff who work hard with a day off on your birthday. So with another trip around the sun complete today, once all the birthday stuff was out of the way at home, I treated myself to breakfast at the cafe before heading north with the aim of knocking over some of the lesser known Glasshouse mountains.
This was the first on the list. And it was a nice walk followed by a short sharp climb. I searched around the rocks and uncovered a number of used bongs, before virtually tripping over the container. Nice to find this poor unloved cache after 9 months. Lost the trail a few times on the way down, but managed to find my way back to the car without trouble.
Many thanks Just a Trifle

A great walk for a June morning. Beautiful views!
TB Swap.
So glad we made the trip up here, and tackled 3 of the smaller GH mountains. Thanks heaps!

We really enjoyed this one no path but a fairly quick hike to the peak return trip could be done in a little over an hour if you don't spend 30mins looking for the cache only to realise it was where you first looked. The view was amazing couldn't reccomend it more.
Bit of traveling round the country side today and had the opportunity to catch Gcoven at Saddleback for a trek up the hill. Probably didn't ascend the hill in the right area as the cuts and abrasions suggest but made it to the top on this glorious afternoon.
Left a number of TBs that have been sitting in my hands for too long and a few TBs collected from Townsville when I was there for work during the week. Thanks for placing this cache Just a Trifle.

Working the weekend again but time to climb this beauty after knock off today. Missed the fork in the road and the orange markers but believe it probably made not a lot of difference to the climb. With no designated track a spot of bush bashing was in order and lots of nasty bitey type trees resulted in a few wounds. Besides these monsters the climb was not too difficult and heaps of fun! A bit of hunting at the peak eventually reavelaed the cache. Took the black ribbon hair clip. We love black !!!
Introduced a mate to geocaching and this was our first find on 3 peaks of the day. Found with little difficulty and walk up this one pretty easy going.
Out for the day with a muggle friend from Grassmere near Warrnambool, decided to do this cache as its been on my to do list for quite some time and thought it would be good to show off this great area. Parked at the suggested coords to start our walk and arrived at the forked junction where we met a gentleman coming from the left fork who had just released some snakes back into the wild from his garden. Had a quick chat with him before he suggested we took the right fork and follow the orange ribbons tied in the trees. Great walk to the top and the cache was soon in hand. Deserves a favourite point for the views, all good with the cache. TFTC Just a Trifle
Finally it wasn't anymore so hot .... So we decided to get this cache and enjoy a different view. Awesome. I love those grass trees and we passed a lot of them.

#4204 [16:45] I went to this cache after my trip to Geminies and thought about nice evening views. Pleasant short walk and I enjoyed final scrumble going directly and not around the rock The cache was located, logbook signed and then I made few photos of place where I was few hours ago.
It was 40 minutes to the sunset what was quite long time to wait here although beautifull place to! Why not to try to catch it at Mt Beerburrum. So I had to run from here
Thanks JaT for placing the cache here and bringing me to enjoy it too!

Mrs OC and I had a free morning and we're trying to summit as many of the Glasshouse mountains as we can, so we decided to tackle a couple more.
The day started out drizzly, but by the time we finished school run and headed up here, the rain had cleared. We headed along then up, and while not particularly steep, the loose shale made us wary of our footing. Beautiful views of the clouds clearing over the Twins greeted us from halfway up. We continued upward, this is a nice walk, not too steep and not too high.
We took some pics at the Northern outlook before heading up to the cache location. It took us some time to locate the container, there are just so many nooks and crannies for a container to hide! Eventually Mrs OC announced she had found it, quite proudly. Coords are good, considering the age of the container and the CSIRO telling us the earth has shifted and coords taken long ago should be out by several metres .

This cache is in good condition, and makes smilie #2683. Thanks **Just a Trifle** for showing us this spot. Discover our code TGQNRV, and mention where you saw it.

First time up this high, we are on our day trip to the big pineapple. Dropped in to find this cache. It is our first mountain climb. Geomummy tripped within 50m lol leg bleeding. Both geogirls did a great job climbing and geomama found the cache. What a amazing view. Thank you CO for placing this up here. TFTC
Took me awhile. Co ordinates very accurate once gps settles. Found in small rock crevice. To get here, I parked at 4wd car park. I think 2wd could also park here. Navigated to 1st way point. Couldn't get my gps to stay fixed on the bearing so followed faint geo trail. Walked over some wet rocks on the ground then went straight up. Easy climb. I liked the log before mine. Found by fit one and not so fit one. An easy walk and climb. Enjoyed this one.
Headed up this morning with crunchi. Been wanting to do this for a while. A long while. Finally, a day off work and a will for a trek. Starting on the wrong road we headed off and found the right spot to park. Easy walk and little climb over some rocks, couldnt believe the views that were from here after doing many of the other mountains before this. First finders in a fair while, well worth the morning out. Tftc.
Continued.
Not as hard of a climb as its made out to be. Folowed some trails to the base of the mountain. Climbed up over the rocks instead of going around as it was going to be quicker to go straight up and over, took our time getting to the top as we are into photography and were taking a fair few pics the whole way. Would have taken approximately 2hrs in total. Would be alot quicker if you dont stop so much. Never even noticed this mountain before as i have driven by it so many times. Once again. Tftc

Despite the fact that the Glasshouse Mountains are seventy to ninety kilometres from home, I have felt the need to climb as many as is generally allowable for some time. Don't get me wrong, this is a process that has taken years, but we are slowly getting through this world famous set of landmarks!
Saddleback or Elimbah as I tend to refer to it as is now the last I'm interested in climbing. Thankfully, also one of the smaller in the collection. I had planned to roadtrip and run up the hill myself on that ever yet-to-happen 'one day'. However, Catscatscats22 had sung out, keen for a walk and I thought this and another small climb might make a nice hike for the day.
Though, the timing of doing such things in November is questionable at best. We'd just tackled the worst named mountain going - Miketeebumulgrai. With a few precious moments in the car's air conditioning to recover, we drove to the suggested parking for this geocache. I had assumed it would be a 'park as close as possible and take the most direct route' type of affair, so was somewhat annoyed when the parking was much farther away. Though, trust the geocache page and CO expertise we shall!
Backpack, water, GPSr - the usual on board we headed off. As suggested, a bit of common sense and following your nose makes this trek quick and easy. The flatter section near the start was no drama at all and we started seeing the cairns of rocks to mark the route up the exposed rocky area. We crossed that through the blaring sun, then below the cliffline a bit and up through spiky plantsville before gaining the ridge and an easy stroll to GZ.
As with nearly every Glasshouse, the views are magnificent! Despite being super sunny, hot and sweaty, a slight cool breeze and the scenery made things much more pleasant. The geocache hunt took a surprisingly long time but of course, in the end it was located. Safe, sound and in good condition. Names were added to the logbook before a long pause watching the world go by and picking out each of the other mountains out yonder.
However, there is a return journey to make and despite a slight detour.. ok, I didn't look at the GPSr and lead us astray. Despite that though, we had no dramas.. oh, except for Cats tripping over a stick at one point. I swear, I didn't laugh.. for long.
Back at the car and I'm happy to say I've completed the Glasshouse Mountains within reason! Two tackled today and considering I've emptied my three litre camelback, it must be time to head homewards. Thanks for this geocache, an excuse to climb this hill and maintaining it all these years, Just a Trifle

With my usual geocaching playmates otherwise occupied today I set myself the ambitious task to climb six mountains to pick up the remaining caches I had left in the Glasshouse Mountains. My targets for the day were Mt Beerburrum, Mt Coochin, Mt Ngungun, Mt Timbberoowuccum, Mt Miketeebumgulgrai and Mt Elimbah. My final climb for the day and was thankful that this was by no means the worst of the climbs for the day. After parking at the start of the track I followed the well marked path most of the way to the top where I was able to follow my nose the rest of the way. The hunt for the cache took longer than I had expected and it was a relief to finally locate it and sign the log. My timing was good as a couple of muggles and their dogs arrived at the top just as I had started on my way back down. A great cache to end the day on. TFTC
The start of a journey !! Wasn't a member and didn't know the concept existed.
Went for a walk in "my back yard" and saw some trail signs I remembered from a kid scout and started to look around......started to wonder after 30 mins if the marbles where loose, when I found it. (much to the relief of my mrs). A year later, here we are as members.
Nice walk/climb. gr8 spot. magic view.....left it where I found it.
looking forward to seeking out other interesting sites.

Just live nearby and have been looking on and off for years. Found with the help of Odie the dog, who was better at going up than going down .
Out for an afternoon geocaching with ClaudiaClaudia, jabie_b and Aleisha101. Loved doing this one, nice climb and has a nice little pathway down lower to get you on the right track to GZ. We picked up the TB and are going to move it on soon. TFTC

Decided to climb this mountain late last night, I had the intention on leaving at 5, but slept through my alarm. When I arrived at the carpark I saw that it was still quite wet around here, and wasn't sure whether I should continue or not, but decided to go for it regardless of dampness.
The climb up the mountain wasn't as difficult as I thought it might have been. I'm not sure if it was because I didn't have the kids but in comparison to Mount Mike I found this one less challenging. 40 minutes after I set off I was at the top of Saddleback. A quick costume change (my jeans, shoes and socks were all drenched) into my shorts and I sat and enjoyed the view before commencing the search.
This is where the trouble started, I swear I looked in, under, over and around every possible thing within a 10m radius.
Just as I was considering heading back down the mountain I saw something I hadn't yet noticed - THE CACHE!!!
I spent a little while longer enjoying the view, waiting for my jeans to finish drying and having a bite to eat then I walked/slid down again.
Luckily, this climb/walk today was almost completely without incident - (the only thing was that) one time I bent down to look into a hole between some rocks and hit my head on another rock that I hadn't seen.
It was fantastic seeing all the grass trees in their different stages of flowering.
Dropped off a tb wanting to saw on the cliffs.
Thanks for a great cache - FP heading your way.

Mountainman and I both had little milestones to achieve today. He chose this one for his #300, so I have also chosen this one for my #600.
Had a great day accompanied by membsec, Angela minus Dave,Team LJCC and mountainman.
Good little climb to finish off the day.
Thanks JAT for this one.

Both of us joined Angela less Dave, (Terry) Membsec, Dahumbug and Mountainman82 for the day.
This was the last one attempted. Luke did not make this trip, he stayed to keep Lynne company and mind the cars
Up we went, through bush, to the cliff, to the right, up the ridge and onto the top.
Much searching and widening took place, getting frustrating. Eventually, the cache was in hand!
We took a different way down which was probably inadvisable!

Met a small group including Membsec, Team LJCC, Dahumbug and Mountainman82 to tackle some of the Glasshouse region.
This would be our 4th mountain for the day, and the last one!
Dave and I had been up here earlier but had no luck locating the cache and when it started raining, we raced out of there!
Today we at least knew where to start and for awhile, it looked like we were going to have the same fate.
Luckily Mr Membsec located it and we all breathed a sigh of relief!
Different members of the group led the charge down the mountain and unfortunately, in the wrong direction.
After it was realised, we tried to locate the path with no success and eventually decided to walk to the road.
Congrats to Dahumbug and Mountainman82 on their milestone caches!!

The plan had been set to meet @ 7am and attack the mountain ranges in the glass house area trying to get to my 300th, Teamed up with Dahumbug, LJCC, Angela - Dave, Membsec for a days adventure. Last mountain hike for the day! starting to feel buggered! Thanks to Mr Membsec for locating this one! clever hide! great views! Tftc!
During the week the message came through that Angela & Dave had been up Saddleback but had failed to find the cache before the rains came down. From then on there was a frenzy of activity (not FTF Frenzy) organising for a small group to attack some more of the Glasshouse caches this weekend. So it was that 7am saw the intrepid group of Angela & Dave, Team LJCC, dahumbug and mountainman82 meet at the foot of Coochin. At last, as the day drew on and the sun became stronger we approached the real goal for the day. The tired team made its way along a track, then through the scrubby bush to the base of a cliff, traversed to the north and then climbed onto the ridge. Once at GZ we began the search. At first it looked as though we would meet the Angela & Dave fate as peopled widened their search and put down their water packs. Male Membsec returned close to GZ and began searching even more thoroughly but then spotted a likely spot and then "I've got it" he calls and everyone is really happy that at last we have this elusive cache. Thus ends a very successful day which included to 300th cache for Mountainman82 and the 600th for dahumbug - well done guys. The walk down was quite random and we hit the road allowing us to wander back to the cars in a leisurely fashion.

Out and about on another Freaky Friday with teamdfl We wanted to grab a few of the minor mountain caches today, and this was our first. Some nifty navigating brought us to the starting point, but we parked right next to some dead fish [:(!] The stench was awful, and how on earth did they get there?!?!? The first bit of the walk was leisurely, but then began the UP-ness! And there is definitely no trail, but as long as you keep going UP you'll be fine At the peak it took a few minutes to make the find, and we had both already skimmed over the right spot After a couple of minutes admiring the views we headed back down. The downhill runs are so much nicer Altogether we took about 50 minutes for this one. TFTC, Just a Trifle.
Out with IolantheK for a freaky Friday hunt. After a quick distraction and a few crazy laps around Caboolture we were finally heading for one of our goals. Hike #1 for the day. Parked at the car. A hasty departure was made due to the dead fish on the ground. We followed the trail as far as it went and then made a bee line for GZ. Had a bit of a hunt at GZ, with both of us missing it at first. Soon located though. Another hill conquered
Today I joined the MEG#5 crew for a jaunt up the sunny coast and to clamber up a few peaks.
This was my highlight for the day, the reason why it's taken me so long to log it, and the reason I gave it a FAVE point
The walk in reminded me of my bushwalking days (decades, actually) down south in the VIC, NSW and ACT national parks. We chatted as we strolled and Mt Saddleback loomed up in front of us.
At the base we contemplated the scramble up the rock face. I don't mind a bit of 'bouldering' and started up the direct route, but it was soon obvious that was going nowhere. Pprime mimicked a mountain goat.
Fangsoki had found a gentler, but still interesting way to clamber up a bit further around the rocky peak.
I summited with a few of the ladies in the group and we were gobsmacked by the views We didn't look for the cache, waiting for the others to Jon us at the top. Yimi handed around a block of chocolate.
When the rest arrived soon after, the cache was located easily. I was less interested in the cache than in the exhilarating walk up to GZ and the sunny perspective from the top. My sticker went into the logbook.
I took a few pics including one of my feet on a rock ledge on the way up. That's Bulldozer72 below me.
We wound our way down the trail and back to the scrubby flat. I felt like staying at the top for an hour or so and sitting cross-legged on a chunk of granite and meditating
We had another hill to climb... This is the one that captured my heart today! Not a large hill by any means, nor the highest or trickiest I've conquered but still, an immensely enjoyable trek in the company of wonderful people.
TFTC Just a Trifle beautiful location!

Saddleback Mountain.....OMG! In we walk along a mostly flat path for a bit...then we start going up a bit...very manageable trek so far...no concrete path like the previous mountain but still ok...UNTIL...a rock wall! Wow! I have to say I'm impressed with the efforts made by our group with the MEG#5 challenge here today. Our trek through the long grass and hidden rocks brought us to the base of the cliff face. One of the group reminded us that the quickest way to the top of anything is straight up. It looked do-able - maybe! Several of us started up trying to pick a way that had little nodules to strain our fingers on to keep us clinging to the rock while we found our next little foothold or fingerhold. I got far enough up to then have to find a way down and across a bit to join some of the group who balked at the rock face and had found a still very steep but easier and less dangerous way up. We made it to the top of the first part of the saddle, rested to take a few deep breaths and admire the view and then made our way up to the top of the horn of the saddle. We'd packed our lunch and sat and admired the view and refreshed ourselves while waiting for the rest of the group to arrive whereupon the search for GZ was in ernest. Mr Pprime put his hand on the cache and we were all grateful we'd found it and could sign the log. A favourite point must go to this cache Just a Trifle. For you for placing it here, and for us for making it up here (and down safely too). This was the second of our three mountain challenge today.
What is MEG? Amongst a few 2013 GEOGoals I've set myself, one I have dubbed Mission Empty Glass (MEG for short). This involves tackling all caches I've not already found in an area I've defined loosely as 'The Glasshouse Mountains'. Every multi, every mystery, every mountain and everything in between. This, the fifth group outing took in a couple mountain climbs and walks in preparation for the future MEGs, plus two multis, and a couple others in the area. In small convoy with the Master Fangsoki and his Purple Paj, Miss Censations, Swellerfungus and Lady Sim, Miss Maddy, Bulldozer, KarenHippo, Crew153 and Aussie Liahona we arrived here. Only 750m or so to go on foot? Sweeeet. And off we trundled in the wrong direction before the track turned around to happily head in the right direction.
And then the direction was up. Second mountain climb of the day and it's not even lunchtime. Alrighty then, off we went. We went wrong though. I now am re-reading the description and it says clearly to keep the exposed rocks on my left. Well, we didn't . WE went straight at them and up them. Now, for me, that's not so big a deal, in fact my body is somewhat happier on a cliff than walking a slope, but not so a few others. Aussie L, Lady Sim, Swellerfungus, Bulldozer, Miss Maddy and Crew foolishly followed me upwards. The vantage point I had allowed the rest to head in a far more useful direction. Then I had to direct my lackies in that direction. A challenge for those who had given up on breathing for the time being. Had me worrying about where a rescue chopper would land. Leave no man behind we said. Carrying one out in a pine box wasn't part of the deal. Thankfully though a bit of a break and all were functionally operational again.
Cache found. Actually, it's a great spot and an amazing little mountain - I might have to come back and try it again when I'm not attempting to kill my geo-companions. It took a little bit of the shine of the moment off the smilie. But it's a smilie and that's cool.
Thanks for placing this cache, Just a Trifle. Mobbed in good condition.

Part of the MEG#5 group. This was the eighth cache found for the day. Why was I climbing this mountain again? Oh yeah, the view was magnificent. Loved seeing the pineapple farm from afar. Luckily Fangsoki found a way up towards the side of the mountain which made it a lot easier and slowly bit by bit we got there in the end. Never in my wildest dreams would I be sitting on top of the mountain having lunch.
What looked so innocent from the bottom ended up a difficult climb, made more so be the choice of track we chose. Suffice to say if you find yourself scaling cliff faces smoother than a mirror, and with less handholds than a bowling ball, then you have TAKEN THE WRONG PATH!!! After a few much needed rests the group signed the log and we made our way down the now very obvious path. So much fun, thanks Trifle
Glad to see my standard form of finding the easy path after I found the hardest way in possible is still the norm. After tiptoeing along a few rock faces and a lot of up and down trying to find a path along the cliff a few of us finally found the easier path that we had completely missed. After finally making it over to the rest of the group who had taken the correct path the first time it was a case of up and up, followed by a right turn then a bit more up. With words of encouragement drifting down from above I finally made it the top for a much needed rest. This was definetly way outside my normal comfort zone and I gratefull to J.A.T. for providing the challenge and to my fellow cachers for the support and assistance. TFTC

Why do I do these thing to my body?
I have never been into climbing mountains let alone scaling cliff faces but today I joined the Meg#5 group to test myself out at this one.
After a pleasant stroll through the trees we were soon confronted with a wall of rock. After a few discussions between the more experienced ones a plan was formulated which involved clinging to a lot of rocks with fingernails. Now, I don't really suffer with vertigo but I was completely out of my element but thanks to the support and guidance of the others in the party I managed to scale that wall.
My mark is in the log and the route that we found down was a lot easier.
Thanks JAT. I'm glad I don't have to come back here and also thanks to the others with me for the help and support especially Swellerfungus.

Well that was an effort and a half getting up to the top. Glad to have the help of some very supportive cachers as I slowly made my way up. Relieved to be at the top I even lay down for a while. Great views! TFTC
Just dipping the trackable car while out with the MEG5 group.
OK - so everyone seems to think when you find 5500 caches you should remember exactly everything about each and every one... like how you got up some mountain Yeah no
I'll let others tell the story - but we got up there - I really enjoyed this cache last time - and loved doing it again. The cache was in good condition, JATs

No 1,100 Yah I had been wanting to do this one for 12 months and after reading about the young ones doing it at night, I talked geopartner into doing it today.
Off we went. We followed the directions and made our way up. It was not as steep as we thought it was going to be, not like some of the other mountains we had climbed in the past before we were geocachers.
We stopped on the ridge to take a breather and enjoy the views and took some piccys and then made our way up the last part to the top.
Then the hunt was on and I found it in a few minutes. [^]
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks Just a Trifle This is one mountain that we had not climbed before.

Oh, what a night, middle of June back in twenty 12,
What a very special time for me
As I remember what a night!
Oh what a night,
You know I didn't even know the cache
But I was never gonna be the same
What a cacha, what a night!
Oh, I got a funny feeling when we walked into the bush
And I, as I recall it ended much too soon
(Oh what a night),
Hypnotizing, mesmerizing me
The cache was everything I dreamed it'd be
Sweet surrender, what a night!
I felt a rush like a rolling bolt of thunder
Spinning my head around and taking my caching self under

So Ayepeacee mentioned to me he wanted to do this cache at night.. and as usual, the insatiable night caching sleep deprived monster that lives inside me said yes.. so we headed out on a cold night with Nyssaflutterby for the hike. We were pretty excited in the car, and once we had figured out a good place to park in the not-quite-a-fourbie Brightskies geomobile, we bounced out into the 8 degrees of darkness, where your breath surrounded you in a cloud and the sky was alight with stars and dreams. We sorted ourselves out and began the walk to the first waypoint. We stopped for awhile here and just looked up at the stars. We then headed up basically straight to GZ. The terrain was not as challenging as i was expecting, and after avoiding a rock face and a lot of trying to follow Ayepeacee's footsteps and not fall down, we were at the summit. And what a magical place at night. We started looking for the cache and after a search by the three of us, we realised this was going to be a bit more of a challenge than at first thought. We stopped for break and then started searching again. Soon enough the cache was located.. it has to be another one of those.. really? i didnt check there? hmm *face palm* moments.. but a clever hide nonetheless. We enjoyed the cache and soon returned it to its home. Swapped some pretty hairclips for the scratchie, in the hope that we would win 25 grand to spend on a caching holiday, but we didnt win We then spent some time sitting on the mountain in the dark quietly reflecting in the usual Ayepeacee, Nyssaflutterby and Brightskies way. I began to get really, REALLY cold after awhile, and i knew it was time for me to start walking around again to stop the shivering. Soon we were on our way back down, not quite the way we came up but we got back in one piece.. and i had a few giggles at Nys falling over several times in front of me.. and her mad cackle she does when she lands on her bum :p We arrived back at the car and were happy with our efforts ^^ thanks for the cool cache Just a Trifle, and it was good to meet you the other day.

=) So I've been meaning to do this cache for more than a long time, its been on my watchlist for ages, its close to home and in a great area... So what better way of doing it I thought other than making it a night cache in the always awesome company of Brightskies and Nyssaflutterby....After meeting Just a Trifle last weekend and mentioning I wanted to do this cache they informed me that they were the owners of the hide, so I casually mentioned we were all going to attempt this at night kind of expecting them to say it wasn't a great idea , I didn't hear words of that nature so that pretty much made my mind set that it was happening... So it was Monday night around 9:30pm and the mission was on.....As the walk started I thought to myself that maybe we would miss out of some views by not doing this in daylight but after we all looked up and admired the stars on this perfect night I had convinced myself that it was a much better backdrop for a cache mission. The walk to the top was fun, we walked to some co-ords we had in for the T junction and just looked for a spot to start heading for the top pretty much following the gps in a straight line to the cache except when we were faced with a huge straight up rock ledge we just kept that to our left and worked our way up and around to the right... once at the top we were hit with amazing 360 degree views of the city and suburbia lights and even the silhouettes of the surrounding mountains and of course those amazing stars !! So the hunt was on and this proved to outdo the difficulty rating as we were searching in the dark , it took what seemed like forever with us 3 just spreading out and searching in different areas widening away from GZ , we had a break for a drink and got back to searching ... not long after this the prize was found in an area that somehow non of us had walked past ?? We spent at least an hour up on the summit just taking in the views and staring at the stars before our descent down the hill... Everything to do with this cache has made it my all time favourite geocaching experience, a great location , my first terrain 4, another night cache, my favourite container which was hidden well for a challenging search... and of course the amazing company of Brightskies and Nyssaflutterby , A big thanks to Just a Trifle on a great cache =)
This was great. I had heaps of fun just getting to the top. I should have taken some lunch because it's a nice spot to sit and enjoy a meal. Took me a little while to find the cache. It wasn't in any of the obvious spots. This one has been the most fun so far. A real challenge.
What a brilliant cache!! We were around the Caboolture area and decided to finally tackle this one. We had a read of the description and elected to follow your instructions. They ended up being spot on and we had no problems getting to the summit. The weather was perfect, the views were beautiful and it was a very enjoyable walk for the morning. Once at GZ, the cache took a bit of a search before we noticed the tricky hiding spot - now that's just mean! Blends right in. Very happy to have found it though and then we spent some time taking photos before heading back down. All told, took an hour to get back to the car. Definitely shouldn't have left it that long. Spectacular views of the other glasshouse mountains, particularly Mt Mike! Thanks Just a Trifle
Parked at the signed entrance to the national park off Old Gympie Road and followed the pathway around into the scrub. There are no pathways up to the mountain so it was a fairly interesting walk clambering over rocks and logs while trying to navigate through long grass and very spikey trees. Got to where the coordinates had led me and begin to search, two of us scourered the area looking everywhere and always coming back to the same spot which didn't yield any results. We gave up after an hour of seaching high and low and sticking hands where it's probably not advised. Don't know if it's because I'm a newby or if someone has muggled it.

I decided to finally tackle this one today after i finished work at Burpengary, and having just recently pushed a baby in a pram up to 'Mt Beerburrum Lookout' [:o)], i thought this'll be a piece of cake on my own .
As i was in the truck, parking posed a small problem before i even started . I had to park it a few hundred meters south of the entry gate, and then walk back.
I began my hike along the southern boundary fire break and then turned and followed it north for a little while. When the GPS'r stopped counting down, i found a bit of a clearing and headed bush following the arrow
Almost straight away, i wandered upon a faint trail (probably animal) which was heading my direction so i followed it up to a 8 or 10M high sheer rock face. I was easily able to walk around and up beside of the cliff, which is where the prickly shrubs started I carefully picked my path up using as much exposed rock as i could find until i was nearly at the top where the shrubs were left behind until the journey down
The final clamber was a challenge on my already burning legs, but the pain seems to fade into insignificance as the countdown nears zero for some reason . I had a bit of a hunt around before the well hidden treasure came to hand.
I sat and filled out the log while admiring the views and the beautiful breeze, wondering why it has taken me so long to do this [?] Just makes me want to do the rest now . Very enjoyable
TNLN. Thanks Just a Trifle

I have to admit it - I was a little disappointed when Norm'Ozzi beat me to this one. I do like to find a cache that has not been found in a long time. This poor old cache had not had a visit in 16 months until it was found recently again.
Nevertheless, there is always the challenge and seeing some great views. So this afternoon - after work - I parked and made my way in. I plodded along.. following the remenants of a path until I got to the mentioned intersection. I went bush and powered on through. I don't think I strictly followed Just a Trifle's route - but it ended up not being too bad. I did not end up hanging off some cliff screaming for help I picked my way through without incident.. with only a bit of climbing and I eventually got to GZ.
I started the hunt. Initially, it was not coming to hand easily. I decided to get rid of my backpack and walking stick and GPSr and have a good fossick around. Sure enough, after widening my search a little, the cache came to hand. It is in excellent condition - it looks like it was just placed yesterday! I rescued the GC from the cache, signed the log and sealed it back up and re-hid the beast.
The walk back down was a little more .. hmm.. trecherous? I really should have paid more attention to my approach. Because my departure was not as graceful. I picked my way down and was pushing through all manner of plants and grasses. I was using Just a Trifle's WP to the t-intersection as somewhere to head. Finally I fell out of the bushland and back onto the track.
This was a great cache - and it is more deserving of a lot more visits. I thoroughly recommend this cache to anyone who does not mind a bit of a walk and a climb. I certainly earned my 4 terrain rating today. TFTC Just a Trifle - throughly enjoyable

Found this one on a daytrip to the Glasshouse Mountains...
Really enjoyed the walk to the summit even if the idea of potentially meeting a snake was a bit scary !
Didn't read the path instructions before going but after a round trip around the mount, came back on my path and headed straigth to the summit the same way you did.
I did enjoy this walk/climb so I dropped a GC and mark you cache with a favourite.
That's the kind of cache I like, with a little bit of challenge !

Good clamber up the hill. I reckon I followed the directions given - it seemed the best track at the time. Looked for the cache in likely spots first up, then paid more attention to the GPS, which actually said 0m for a few seconds when I plonked it on top of the cache. TFT cache and the clamber, Just a Trifle.
What a great place for a cache. After trying to locate the "T" junction we decided to head up the mountain the best we could. It was a reasonably easy climb until we got to the rocks which slowed us down a bit. Easily found the cache and after filling the log decided to have bit of a picnic and take in the great views. The trip back down was easy and quick.
