If you've gotten to the more-recently cut trees you have gone too far. coordinates off, impossible without hint...more to the left when facing away from lake needs maintenance- interior extremely wetMade for a nice walk from the campground
Found, but cache needs maintance, was full of water. Have emptied water but log book unusable
I count find it but we had some pinnappple lumpsp and we walked up to the bush line it was so much fun it reminded me of the time when I went up grandview and had gummy bears. When we were going to kidds bush there were some lambs jumping around. That was weird I thought they would just sleep all day. There was also a few cows on the road and they smelled a bit weird but it was too dusty to notice. Then we saw some goats that were with there mum and it was weird because I thought that they would be alone anyway tftc.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I now live full-time in our caravan & travel the country visiting places we want to visit … we are currently parked up at the DoC Kidds Bust Campsite just before ‘The Neck’ between Lake Hāwea & Lake Wanaka … went for a walk to ‘nab’ this cache … this cache was easily found, log completed & replaced … pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally … TFTC ... TN:LN:SL ... #3,873 for us.
We stayed at Kidd Bush campground since it was difficult to find a reasonably priced hotel on a Saturday night. This was a nice campground on a beautiful lake, so it worked out well.
We even got to see a herd of more than 1000 sheep being driven right past the campground. It was quite a sight! One sheep farmer asked the three of us to guess the number of sheep running past. None of us guessed over 500, but he said there were 1200 sheep in his herd! We asked if the sheep drive was a frequent (daily/weekly) occurrence, but the farmer said it is once a season, to separate the lambs from the adults. I guess we were lucky to see this rare event!
The two sheep farmers each controlled 3 dogs. The 6 sheep dogs actually ran through the campground in order to keep the sheep away from the tents. It was interesting to see 3 dogs herding and 3 dogs sitting and waiting while their master was chatting with us.
I found this cache in the morning, and the coordinates seemed a bit off, but the log by Fullofun helped. ("The cache is in an open area that could be parked in").

That took me longer than it should have had. The cache is in an open area that could be parked in almost opposite a make-shift gate. TFTC

Taking some time out to explore our amazing country...camped up in the reserve for the night ...great spot...
Having seen a couple of dnfs on this I wasnt holding out much hope..but had time to kill before leaving..
Followed the coords to what i thought looked like the suitable location..had a good look around but nothing ..expanded my search area to other similar hints and still nothing. Spent a good 15min looking then gave up...only to check one more place a lot closer to the road.(5m)..!and bingo there it was..glad to make the find..cache all good..

Spend ages looking but couldn’t find it.
Went of gps first and then followed the hint but still no luck.

I misread the hint so focussed on the wrong place but Mr Pazza used geosense and found the cache
Mr Pazza made a reasonably quick find here while we wandered in too deep from the track. Our last cache as the sun was going down. Tftc
We're hunting Tour caches and anything that's not slowing down our objective to much. After setting up camp at Kidds Bush Reserve we plan to explore as far South as Wanaka. Our base is established and we had a lovely walk to this cache enjoying the shade and the birdsong. It took a few minutes until we had the right hint item. Thank you Bitsprayer
We are camped at Kidds Bush Reserve for a couple of nights so ventured up here to find this. Lovely wander up through the bush listening to birdsong.
Thank you Bitsprayer.
Thank you Bitsprayer.
We found the cache after a few mins. There were lots of possibilities but the cache was pretty close to the posted coordinates so it didn't take us too long. A nice place and good to find another cache by Bitsprayer which he placed way back in January 2007. Impressive.
There’s a souvenir up for grabs today - Goodbye 2019 - so ‘popped down here’ after work to grab this cache, which I’d been keeping for just such an occasion.
Gorgeous weather at the moment. With clear skies and the thermometer sitting at 30 C Kidds Bush DOC camp has the Camp Full sign out. (So does the other nearby DOC camps.)
After finding and signing the log KrystalKath and I carried on to the Sawyer Burn stream to soak our hot feet and have a cold beer or two with cheese and crackers. **Nice**
Lovely way to celebrate 2019 before heading home to Makarora. TFTC, dropped TB

The rain stopped our search. They were so many logs and roots and trees. We couldn't find anything but it's most probably still there. Thanks for taking us to this wood.
Found with Ivetacek.
Sleep in near campground, very nice place, quiet and full of birds.

Found as a part of a previous group TanjackMüley, now WanderingSparrow. Now I'm continuing on my own. TFTC
Camping in the area thought we would explore and find a couple caches. The gps was showing up ten meters out and beyond the cache closer to the further log. After searching we backtracked to expand our search until we found the cache. Very dirty around and even plants germinating on the lid. All good inside although the pages are coming apart inside the log. Thanks for giving us a reason to explore and thanks for placing the cache.
Ended up being a quick find after both me and kelboy walked right past the cache. TFTC
Great camping area, would never have come up here without caching but really enjoyed visiting this spot. Quick find, TFTC
Thanks for the cache and the clue!!! Without the clue we would probably still be looking for the cache. Happy Xmas!!
15.00: On the way up to Kidd's Bush Camping Area. We do not know what happened here, but cacher's fortune was not with us at this place. Most likely the coverage was lacking so we searched way too deep in the forest. We could not spot anything what have would matched the hint so we gave up after about twenty minutes.
Anyway, thank you for showing us this place!

Found with our 3 and 5 y.o. Thank you Bitsprayer for making us stop here. The cache was wide open when we found it. But the logbook is dry.
*Day 11 of our amazing trip*
blumen-wiese and I had stayed overnight at the DOC campsite. Before leaving the area towards the starting point of the Isthmus Peak track, we made a little detour to this cache. The hint seemed clear enough, but GPS reception was rather poor, so we had to search for a few minutes, but in the end we found it.
Thanks for the cache and greetings from Austria.

Day eleven of our wonderful New Zealand trip Oztriaco and I started at the near campesite. So before we made our way to Ismuth peak we stopped for this cache. It was not easy to find. But thanks to the hint we found it. Thanks for the cache. Greetings from Austria.
Found on 18/04/2018.
Sorry, I found these caches ages ago. Just grabbed the files off my GPSr now.
Nice spots to explore and cache in.

Today I left the DOC Boundary Creek campsite for Lake Hawea and after parking up my snail shell I backtracked to locate and sign off a few caches.
I thought I might catch up with a couple of caravanning friends here but they had already moved on.
Cheers for the cache.

After we stayed in the campground last night we did this one quickly in the morning. TFTC
Took a bit of searching but finally it was sighted! GPS way off, so follow the hint. TFTC
There were several logs at various stages of rotting but the right one was quickly found.
TFTC great to see the cache has survived here over ten years, such a gorgeous remote spot. Made friends with the inquisitive fantails
After inadvertently parking next to the cache, a decent search ensued in the surrounding area. Found in the end back where we started. Tftc
Spent a long time looking but I love these forests so was upset about that. Tftc
Mrs Gilfam walked on with me from the camping area and the cache was soon located and the log signed TFTC #3386 back to the motel and to clean off all the sand from the road
A bit of hunting, but my GPS was giving a better indication than I expected, took us right to it. Nice patch of bush proving the circle of life.

Nice drive for the morning... plenty of ppl at the camping area tftc... needed the hint...gps was wacko
Enjoying a morning walk. Arrived yesterday afternoon and it didn't stop raining until the middle of the night. Cold but nice now. It seems the storm a year ago brought down a lot of trees but hint and co ords still work. NINO TFTC
thanks for bringing me here loved coming down here and finding the caches and discovering the camp site aroha and happy caching picked up tb
We’re here from the UK on the trip of a lifetime with Geocaching as one of the ‘must do’ elements of the trip.
Thanks to the cache owner for bringing us along this road; such beautiful views that most passing tourists would miss. A Favourite point from us and we left a Trackable we brought from home to find its way around the world on its own.

Day 9 of the Crookedclan's great New Zealand holiday adventure. It is a beautiful day today, but too windy for our planned Siberian Expedition from Makarora. So, my youngest son, Tom ( caching handle T.C.C.) and I took a drive from Makarora to collect a few caches. This was an easy find in a nice forest.
Thanks for the cache, Bitsprayer

The road was damp on the way in, and down one of the hills there was a bit of a muddy spot, that I thought that the 2wd might stuggle with on the way back up. Found this and the other cache and headed back, a little apprehensive, but with no need. The MIGHTY Caldina pushed on through with no problems back to the main road. A quick find on a winters tour down the West Coast. The weather is great (though cool), and the scenery fantastic. What a beautiful country we live in. Thanks for the hide.
quick find while we were staying the night at the doc camp nearby. took TB. SL TFTC.
Found in the dark whilst returning to Wanaka from Makarora. Glad for a torch in the Geocaching bag. an awesome camping spot nearby. Got to come here one day...
An easy find on the morning of census day 2013, just after a school trip descended on the nearby campsite to disturb the peace. TNLN TFTC.
Traveling through New Zealand in February with the Campervan we visited your Cache.

12/01/13 18:10 Nearly fell over backwards - 1st Bitsprayer cache I've seen bigger than a , well, you know... JC Cache Dawg observed from the van while HM & I used hint to locate from my parking 20m away. Interesting drive down the lake, noted that cannot camp with dogs here. Cheers, GC.
