Great day for a walk for Geomum and geoboy15. New local spot for us, will need to bring geodad back here to explore. Tftc, our third find for the year.
#14604 @1125
A weekend trip to the coast, mainly to compete in a rogaine near Batemans Bay, but sandwiched between caching there and back. A welcome break from driving to wander to this cache. I drove part way into the suggested parking and walked the last 500m or so. Cache soon found. Took TB. TFTC.

Lived around Nowra my whole life and didn't know this beautiful spot was here. Shame the water is a bit dirty. Thanks for placing and maintaining this for so long.
Wasn't able to locate the cache, seems to have been lost to the recent bushfires unfortunately.
Found with nissan 65 and nicolebr76gal while collecting clues for mystery at the museum. Thanku for the cache

Had to walk from the top of the hill coz my 4WD Xtrail couldnt cut it, but pretty impressed with how for we got with it! Loverly waterhole down the bottow, might have to get a better 4WD to get down there next summer! TFTC

Found with sesblocker and Aries44duo.
Great coordinates made for an easy find. We are staying at Berry and decided to come into Nowra and collect a few smilies. We drove most of the way to within 200m in our 4WD.

**Cache Condition:** Good.
**Took:** Nothing.
**Left:** Nothing.
**Trackables:** some visited.
**The Cache**
I didn't intend to come here but ended up here so may as well go find the cache. Was not too difficult to find with good coordinates. Cache in very good shape. Signed log and returned cache to its hide'y hole. We brought our 2WD in to around 350 metres from GZ and due to the terrain had to walk the remainder to GZ - down hill and quite rocky. Arriving at a small lake I see the creek was very dry here, so we didn't see any cascades... I am glad the kids were with me, being hydrophobic this is not a fun place to be alone. Crossing over the creek bed we bush bashed the last few metres to GZ.
**The Day**
OCW *Little Kitten* and *DustyJapserJet*. What a fun day we have had. Such a gorgeous day down in the Shoalhaven today, lovely and warm too. On an errand in Nowra today so the logical thing was to collect some caches too. Nothing overly noteworthy occurred on our adventures. Stopped by the river for a spot'o'lunch.

Spend the day out helping Bonfire7 complete his 50km Radius. While we were at it, there was enough time to help me knock off some of my remaining caches. This one was one of them. With the sun about to head down, this was the last cache I needed down in the Nowra area. We headed back South to tick this one off. Waypoints helped navigate these uneven trails. The 300m walk went by quickly, and we found a nice old-school kind of container. Thanks!
Out with Muppet95 and Bonfire7. With the 50k radius accomplished and behind us and the sun setting quickly, this would be the last for today. The trail to the parking waypoint was easily passable in most places, but glad we didn't try to go farther. The walk was easy enough tho and we soon had cache in hand. A good day all around and I was happy to be on hand to watch Bonfire7 cross that major 50k milestone.
Bush bashed our way on the hard way. Should have asked the Leyland brothers for directions. Good cache and beautiful location. Tftc!
Got to wp2 and were met by a sign that looked pretty new. Decided to turn around
Found with The Matetrix on a bit of a road/camping/hiking trip. What a place to be, during Summer. Now, wet, windy and a tad on the cool side. TNLNSL TFTC
Already logged however thought i would share a photo of this beautiful waterhole
What a great spot!
I noticed a car turning out onto Braidwood rd on my approach. After the find I saw it had also been found today by other cachers,im guessing it was them I saw leaving.
The creek was flowing well today.i walked up creek just alittle to cross over.
I dropped a TB here.
Great location,definitely a fav point.

i had a bit of time up my sleeve and the weather was nice so i thought i'd have a go at this one today
unfortunately though after the 3rd waypoint there was a bit too much water for me to attempt crossing by myself. maybe with another 4wd but not solo.
i tried to find another way in but the other tracks are marked as belonging to the motorcycle club and deny trespassing so i gave up for today. will try again after some more dry weather

Thanks for placing the cache, great fire trails and some motorbike riders in here today
Walked in the last 500m as the car would go no further after recent rains left nice washouts. Went in barefoot to cross the creek and did the last 50m barefoot bushman style. Worth the trip tho lol TFTC
Jogged to this place many times previously and didn't know there was a cache there. Great find, well hidden. TFTC!
Went to see if the cache was still there, it is in good condition and well hidden. Good luck!
Took a wrong turn (didn't take way points with us!) and ended up too high to begin with, then turned back and went ALLLLLLL the way down to the water =) Wookie (our Jackaroo) had a fun time climbing down then up the big rocks!
We were wondering what used to be there? Also found a surfboard in the water and a neat rope swing!
Cache was a nice easy find guarded by a huntsman =)
Thanks for the cache!!

Typical of our Nav who never likes us to do it the easy way, as the crow flies for him! We slogged through terrain 4 when there was a perfectly good track not THAT FAR AWAY. Definitely no muggles about to hear our diatribes! All good in the end and forgiven. Took a water pistol and left a camera water squirter. SL TFTC cache track!
I will endevour to lead walk for my bushwalking club to the area. Lunch and a swim would go down a treat. Removed Travel Bug number M3E570. Will relocate it soon
Doing a bit of touring in the area, seeing whats about. Decided to take the 80 down. Top little spot this one. Thanx for bringing us there. Yep, surf board is still there. Dropped off TB. TFTC
Finally, a reason to use the brand new 4x4, just so we could drive to interesting places like this.
After a fight with some bushes and a bit of misguided adventuring (my bad) Dr FOD managed to lay his hands on the treasure.
Not sure about the surf board.....

This saw Team CaddaFodder take the brand new heavy duty cache mobile off the beaten track for the first time and we're happy to say it handled it with ease. But we did decide to pull up about 300m from the cache as there was quite a bit of erosion damage on the downhill side as described and rolling a brand new car isn't quite our idea of 'fun'. So we hiked in for the last part and we knew we were on the right path when we spotted the surfboard. A short bushy stroll later we had the cache in hand. Great hide, TFTC!
Well, this was an interesting one for my 650th find. Geovan coped OK with the roads until about 320m from GZ, and in the next clearing over a Navy chopper was sitting with rotor roaring and crew looking out of the door at me. We eyed each other suspiciously until I'd finished my burger, at which point they flew off and I made the trek to GZ. Easy enough find in the end. Nice spot, but the water is very dark and stagnant, don't fancy a dip in it! TFTC.
Great cache. My 5 y/o son loved the dirt rd aspect as well as the bush bash. TFTC.
An interesting find after the walk in. Especially the surfboard in the water hole.
Luckily took the 4x4. Quite a decent. After a bit of bush-bashing we found the cache. Took jeep travel bug, left tractor and coin.
Took the 4WD to this one then walked the last 300mts. What a beautiful spot, certainly a place for some reflective thinking. We enjoyed our lunch here. The surfboard is still here. We left TB Corie the jeep as we thought he would enjoy the off road tracks. SL TFTC
Took us to a beautiful waterhole... A bit confused by the surfboard in it though.... A very overgrown walk up the hill eventually led us to the big rock and cache. TNLNSL. TFTC
Enjoy the walk, not too far from the car, suprised to find such nice water hole. TFTC TNSL

Doing a couple of caches with Woody figtree whilst coming into Nowra for supplies. Drove to within 250m and walked the rest. Pretty cool spot with all the water flowing to this point. Found the cache, logged and returned the way we came. Thanks for your cache.
Caching with Toadmeister7. Found quickly after driving to within 250m. Nice spot. Thanks
The last time I visited this location was back in December 1995 to pay my respects to a mate that lost his live in a winching accident from a Seahawk helicopter. This mate was Geoff Brooks and he was a man that would have loved caching, as he loved all outdoor activities.
But today was to celebrate another find with some more caching mates, and to enjoy the location which was known to me as the ‘duck pond’.
Thanks for bringing me back to this beautiful spot; great cache and thanks to my caching buddies for the lunch time adventure.

A quick lunchtime run today from work with the head Pirate of The Pirates of PATE and the Mick half of Mick-Dyana.
Like the previous finder, we had a helicopter over us as we walked in.
What a nice little waterhole. The water looked very inviting, but no time for a swim today.
Found the goods, snapped a few pics and headed out again past the strange little camp just up the track. A very eerie little camp indeed!

What a mission, didn't find the 4WD track (probley didn't look to hard). Parked the 4WD (don't laugh) at the top and decided to go for a bush bash. Through the maze of dirt bike tracks, would be great on a mountain bike, then through the scrub over the rocks cross the stream and WOW what an amazing water hole. Easy find from ground zero then we followed the 4WD track back out only to find the truck parked 100m from the opening. DAM. oh well good fun. TNSLLN

We set out this morning to hopefully claim a couple of caches close to home that have been appearing as unfound on our caching map for too long now.
Found our way into the parking area for this one without to much trouble, but decided to push our luck just a bit and courtesy of our exhaust managed to leave a nice reminder of our presence on a rock. There was a camp of sorts nearby and we thought it best not to go disturbing the residents so we parked a far way off. Down the path we walked, thinking that it wasn't too bad and maybe would could have bought the car a bit further, that is until we reached a dead end and realised we were on the wrong track. So back we tracked and down another track that had us heading the right direction this time.
Lovely spot down here, and with a short climb up the other side the cache was in hand. Was pretty hot out there today so was amazed that we didn't come across a single snake, it was certainly their type of country!
T - TB, mirror and stickers
L - TB, teddy bear keyring and different stickers.
Then we had a nice warm walk back to the car. Could here some trail bikes in the bush nearby but luckily didn't come across any on the way out.

Found this one on the way home from Nerriga, definitely 4x4 access depending on how close you want to get, anyway I took the Pajero as close as possible until Geo son started to get a bit worried about getting out.

I was able to come within 300 meters of the cache with my 2WD, from there I had to walk. I doubt if a 4WD would have come closer?
Liked the area at GZ although there was a lot of trash around on my way over there, what a shame.

Must have been a very imortant spot for indigenous Australians having a perfectly round deep waterhole with water even in drought condidtions in the middle of nowhere.
Looks like some one has actually driven all the way down the track not so long back. Not for this little black duck.
It was a stinking hot day around 40 degrees but no water has flowed into the pool for some time, a little bit too brown for a swim but a great spot non the less.

A quick cache instead of getting on with the christmas shopping. Using an unfamiliar GPS slowed us a bit, but Geoboy was quickly onto the cache, whilst dad helped cachegirl through the prickly undergrowth.
Great waterhole. Glad I didn't attempt to drive the last bit of track.
Took a (non-geo)coin. Left a mirror for the next little cachegirl to find.

Found from other ledge, LOL. forgot shoes, and had very sore feet after climbing. Good cache. Have been coming to that exact lookout for years and years, but have only recently discovered geo-chaching, and as such only just found cache.
What a great spot. After spending the day exploring around Yalwal I was keen to take the Jeep down to the pool however my passenger seat handbrake suggested I just walk the last 250 mtrs.
So off I went and discovered a great waterhole and a challenging 4WD track at the same time.
Cache was quickly found and then after having a bit of a look around headed off.

A successful mission to rescue Mr Mars Bars Geocoin. We camped Friday and Saturday nights in Jervis Bay area before making our way through Nowra and up to the cache.
We parked a little way before the recommended parking area as last night’s heavy rains has really flood the path….so much so that the sharp let hand bend before the parking area has been pretty much washed out and will need a pretty high clearance vehicle – our Hiace bottomed out on the return… I’m glad I did not attempt drive the parking area to the cache – that was real 4x4 territory. The stream and pond were easily found, but being timid POMS, we decided that a swim was not in order….too many stories about snakes and other nasties.
The cache was easily found and the mission to rescue SOO Geocoin completed. In its place went a Liverpool 2008 Geocoin…that hopefully wont rest there quite as long. SL TFTC!

What a top spot. Wish I knew about this a few years back. It would have been nice to have a dip on the way home from the hundreds of 4x4 trips I've done that came out on this road. Nice drive down to the water as well, I haven't had the cruiser in low range for age's so the drive was just as good as the end location. I didn't swim as I forgot my swimmers ... but that didn't stop cassie the wonder dog jumping in. All I could smell on the way home was wet dog. TFTC . TNL a coin. Greg
Found it fairly easily within a metre of the GZ. the water sure looked inviting, 'twas a fairly warm day. took nothing left nothing. Another nice spot to add to my places to visit list. Thanks Pelusa

OK so failed at climbers, and Suspension
Nowhere close to Gregs drop, I must mention
But pelting rain and a note of 4 wheel driving
Might just fulfil my craving
If only my head weren’t so sore
I would have made more time to explore
Yep I’d camp here for a night or two
Gotta give this place credit, where credits due
Alas I must hightail it back to the conference
And give my opinions at least my two cents
The daylight is dwindling and it's been a long day in the Shoalhaven district. After a hard day at work it was easy to welcome a bit of stress relief before the drive home. Not having a 4WD the track was navigated very carefully to get as close as I dared and with the sun on it's way down I didn't want to risk an incident so a couple of hundred metres to GZ would be good enough. True to form of other cache track caches I was led to a very scenic area where the co-ords were spot on and was a welcome relief to soon have the bountiful booty in hand. Thank you for the pleasant diversion cache track and look forward to doing more of these.
First for the day and it was already stinking hot. Parked in a likely spot before the bogs and proceeded on foot, once at GZ the cache was quickly in hand. TNLNSL. What a delightful billabong. Sadly, no choppers today, the rotor wash would've made a nice breeze. TFTC!
As we where driving in we noticed we where following some 4WD tyre tracks which appeared to be the same as the ones we noticed at a couple of cache locations yesterday. The same as yesterday the same boot marks head towards the cache location but stop short of the cache, very strange. Nice location for a relaxing dip. Imagine it won’t be long before the road across to Braidwood is tarred the whole way.
WOW!! this is my 50th cache!!!
Great spot..been here before long ago. Great to come back.
Took key ring and geo coin. Left a little monkey friend of mine to keep watch over things.

Located whilst being buzzed by a Navy helicopter. It followed me (or so it seemed) from the car park down to the creek & then appeared to land in an area not far from my highly unmodified 4WD. Found cache & as I was heading back the heli took off & actually hovered above me as I walked back up the track! I prepared my reasons for being in this location only to find that the pilot was practicing landing in confined spaces - he/she was hovering just above the ground in the small circular parking area just off the main one, no more than 50 metres from me. As usual in these cases, didn't have my camera with me. Took the old maid, left a geo coin &, appropriately, a sealed pair of ear plugs.
I think it was the BT's that wrote something about driving to T5. Well the Rats did in their slightly modified 4x4, piece of cake and i would have driven to GZ only that there was no track. Not too sure what the large letters painted on the rocks are for as you drive in. I hope there not drop zone markers.
Had to have a second look for this cache, its was camoflauged in its bag. Did my swaps and then off for a bit more 4x4ing.
Thanks Cache Track

The last time I was here it was for emergency radio trials.
I looked in the most likely spot but saw nothing. a few minutes later geowife says here it is - right where I had just looked. Damn I think I had better go get those glasses. Anyone that drives to T5 good luck getting back, it was too rough for me, but a nice walk.

What a lovely spot. One of the things I love most about caching is that it gets me to places I otherwise would never have known existed, and many of them have been almost on my doorstep, as is this one. Thanks Cache Track.
I have added this place to my list of easily accessed wildlife release points too (which has been getting shorter thanks to track closures), so thanks from the critters too!
My Daughter spotted the cache, she was very excited, becaused I missed it! She was also glad that it wasn't that far to walk, as was I because I had to carry her some of the way back.
All in all, a lovely excursion on a warm, overcast and lightly raining summers morning. Again TFTC
