Nice little stroll up and down the main street. Had to do a bit of back tracking as I missed one of the thingies. Also stopped for a cup of coffee. and SW $2 shop fopr a bag of plastic animals. (Required swaps)

While chatting to one of the locals on the walk I found out that these were done with a chain saw.

Now thats a deft touch.........

The gz was as usual, filled with people so required much stealth.

Thanks for the find.

Easy find, just had to wait about 30 mins for muggles to disperse, played on the swings for abit Wink

Found it on a Monday afternoon. Only a couple of muggles to worry about.

Enjoyed this one, always liked those. Even at night you have to watch out for muggles.

Last Saturday I headed into Moruya having arrived at my resort up the coast the night before. A quick stroll around the markets and donated something to the local economy, before strolling down the main street the gather the clues. Quickly solved the coords, but while the market is on and a band is playing in the bandstand is not the best time to try and claim this one. Just way too many people everywhere.

Came back through yesterday afternoon and again came up empty handed. Got mislead by a couple of previous logs and something that looked like it could have held a cache. A quick hint from the owner and I was game to have another go today.

Unfortunately in the mornings this spot seems to be where the local alchoholics anonymous group hangs out with a few beers waiting for the pub over the road to open. Have spotted them there a couple of times so far. So returned in the afternoon after hitting some (caches that is, not cold ones) further south for a quick find. Thanks Mountain Goat for the cache, interesting walk and the help.

I really enjoyed the wander along the main road to get the WP information, then stopped for a late lunch before heading off to GZ. Unfortunately there was no way I could even attempt to find this one - there was a large party of muggles having a group picnic right in the vicinity of GZ & they were watching my every move. I even ducked back again after another detour but they were STILL there!! This one will just have to wait until next time.

A couple of laps down the main drag and we soon had all the info required for this one. Stopped in and got some tucker before haeding to GZ, where cache was easy to find.

This made for a very pleasant wander up and down Moruya's main drag. Unfortunately when we had all the info we needed GZ was just bustling with muggles, so we decided we best come back later on. When we returned we had the area all to our selves and quickly had the cache in hand, in-fact the cache was right out in the open. We re hid the cache where we think it is intended to be.
Thanks for the nice wander.

This cache created, for us, a very pleasant stroll through a pleasant little township. Thanks for the memories.

A very enjoyable walk, despite the rain and the crowds in town on Easter Saturday morning. Didn't take anywhere near as long thanks to not having to load individual coordinates into the Gizmo - thanks MG. We had a short wait while some parents changed a nappy under shelter near GZ, then quickly nabbed the cache, signed the log and got it back into location in short order. What a great cache and idea!

Nice stroll in the main street good one to do when the girls are shopping thanks MG [^]

Found at 1400 after enjoyable walk through main street to collect info. Co-ords pretty good and no trouble finding cache.

We ended up doing this one twice as we had mixed up a couple of the locations and their matching items. We were rewarded this time and ended up near a place where we had been earlier that day.

Pretty busy place but had a look around several structures to no avail. Stayed in Moruya overnight, had a few schooners at the pub, a chinese meal (I only ever order Sweet & Sour Pork & the best I've ever tasted was at the Grand Hotel in Clermont) & then came back for another look. Well that didn't help.

Did this in conjunction with Time for Tea and had a pleasant walk- didn't seem to see footy player but found the cache nonetheless. Another great cache! Thanks.

Walked around town in the freezing wind to find the answers, then headed for ground zero and a hot cuppa in the car while we thought about it. Eventually retrieved the cache after some anxious moments looking at wet concrete very nearby and wondering if it would stop the find.Great multi. TFTC

Attempted this one from the car with sleeping baby. Then tried again on foot...much more successful. But got to final GZ and seriously muggled by people enjoying a few early morning drinks. Popped back the next day and after a very careful extraction (muggles everywhere) had cache in hand. Thanks for the adventure.

Actually, more of a CNL (could not look). Enjoyed finding the artworks on a sunny day, but when I got to gz it was the Saturday Market! Plus there were muggles right at the GZ spot! I went and got another cache and came back, went and got lunch and came back. No change to the situation and unlikely to be it appeared so I had to move on. Next time...... Sad

Found @ 3:15pm after a golfing weekend in Narooma.

Decided I hadn't done enough walking so parked near the second carving and walked it all.

An interesting tour but the cache itself was hard to retrieve and replace surrepitiously!

TFTC!

PS: dolphins aren't technically fish are they? Big Grin

This was an experience doing this cache, realised there isn't that much room in the cab of a Landcruiser with 3 big blokes in it driving around the streets at night! We must have looked a sight? At least there wasn't too many muggles around at this time of night. TNLNSL TFTC

Didn't realize there was actually so many of these statues even though I drive past most of them every day, this one only took about five minutes of driving down the main street and maybe another few minutes to park and grab the cache so I can highly recommend it, good to see a cache that the whole family can enjoy too! TNLNSL Thanks Mtn Goat

*Overall Experience: 4* http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Rating

The geokiddies had great fun figuring out which of these statues were which but with all the muggles around today we were forced to go sit on the beach for a few hours and come back to log the actual cache. We were so impressed with the amount of work that's been put into these carvings, I wouldn't have the patience myself? Nothing swapped (micro) but signed log, thanks. PS there's no pencil in the cache?

Another look (in the daylight this time) and I now have to agree with Kenco's observation so I've changed the webpage to correct the aforementioned misidentification Red Face, thanks Kenco!

Nice easy walk around the town to pick up the clues although the bushranger was more like a gold miner to me. Cache was easy to locate but needed a bit of stealth to recover as there were a few muggles around, would be very hard on a busy day!! TFTC Mtn Goat.

Enjoyed the atmosphere of Moruya on Easter Saturday. Initially lots of muggles and camels but by the time we found it they had evaporated.

06-Apr-07
A great day to take a stroll through Moruya. There weren't too many people about so we had a great chance to look at all the statues.
There were alot of muggles at the final waypoint.
Thanks for the cache.
Signed log.

Yay, FTFBig Grin

I had planned on getting up early this morning and getting this one as I had actually seen it get published last night. The problem was that my pillow just wouldn't let me go. I had a go at this one at about 9am today which was fine to go to all of the sculptures but when it came to the final location I was greeted by a bunch of "locals" in the area drinking long necks in paper bags. (Isn't this an alcohol free zone?) Anyway, Shell and I came back this afternoon and found the cache reasonable quickly.

Thanks MG for this great cache, I pass these sculptures a few times each week but I hadn't noticed a few of them before. Great idea!

(Did anyone notice I logged this on the wrong cache before I put it here?)
