Logs
Found this one with Greenwoodturner today. We didn't do as good a job as we should have in scouting out what it would take to this spot. It turned out to be a longer and bumpier drive than I expected. I was glad that we had a good Geo-Rig for the journey. We arrived at GZ only to find muggles sittting on top of the cache. Well, we didn't drive all this way for a DNF, so we chatted with them and found out that they had been cachers once. So, we showed them the cache and signed one of their names in case they decide to log it as a find at some point. Great spot for a cache here and I will remember this one. Always nice to find an oldie too. Thanks for the fun!
My mission since Creaky Cactus and I got together three years ago was to start getting his Jasmer closer to mine so we could travel and finish it together. He think he needed over 50 boxes, but I could be just delirious. Let me mention, we both have a tendency to get car sick. So…. Indiana Jones theme music playing from The New Channel Island View all the way here. We are in my 2 wheel drive 4Runner. I tell him, I have no idea about the drive across the top of the mountain as I have never done it, but I know it took SnoopyRocks and I about 60 minutes to get to it coming up from the 101. Creaky Cactus is riding Shot Gun…or in the “I’ll get sick first” seat. Off we drive and it says on Google maps say 7.5 miles and 43 minutes. We made it but had to make many stops as the road while doable in my geo beast, was pretty rugged for our sensitive souls. Oh, and the I forgot to mention earlier in the week, he threw his back out so that’s just a awesome too. As I go to grab the cache, it’s not quite where it was the first time I came, so I am going to spryly hop into the crevice and grab it for us to sign. WHACK! I about knock myself out when I hit my head on the Boulder above. He said he saw a few cartoon starts flying around my head but no birdies. Lol. I dropped a couple trackables, and he signed both our names next to where team Pea-Snoop signed years ago. We recovered a bit and then decided to drive out towards Refugio. We didn’t even stop for any other caches that were ALL OVER THIS ROAD. After about 30 minutes the terrain is really rocky and couple times I hear a rock hit my undercarriage. It was like being in the Indiana Jones Ride at Disneyland for 90 minutes. We stopped so we could both recover and almost stopped the car for a happy dance when we hit the paved road. Whew! Memories! I asked him if he still wanted to marry me all good what an adventure
Coordinates: The coordinates are great
Cache Condition: The container is in good condition. Not an ammo can anymore, but a camo'd Costco nut jar(?).
Log: The log is dry and ready for signatures.
Muggles: NO MUGGLES anywhere near.
The cache is hidden right where you might think it is hidden.
NOTE: At this time you can make it from "The New And Improved Channel Islands View" to here in a high clearance 2WD vehicle... but I feel much like a James Bond martini.... Shaken, not stirred, because the ride was a bit rough.

I made my way up the hill, made a wrong turn, then found the right way to close to GZ. Thank you for keeping this old one going.
Out with MBH looking for a few counties but this was even more than that. This was an oldie and an adventure all rolled into one. We read the description but weren't too worried about this time of year, so we headed up. Narrow blacktop road heading in. Hey, this is going to be easy and then.....the road ended! Right away there were a few spots that made us rethink our decision to grab this one. But we wanted this one bad so we kept going. Some parts were very nice and then we found a few that were OMG!! Can we really do this? Can't turn around here so we have to keep going. Passing Jeeps and 4X4 trucks was a little scary too. But we made it all the way to GZ!! I looked everywhere no luck! Then MyBetterHalf says those magic words - Got It! We stamped the log with our team stamp. Covered the container in camo tape to cover up the graffiti. It was not hidden well so we put a few rocks on and around, topped with a white one. We won't forget this trip and we haven't even gone down the hill yet! Thanks for keeping this oldie alive!! A FAV 4 U
