While the farmer searched all over the place on the wrong side of the road I retrieved the cache
We used the very best CSI methods to carefully pick apart the soggy paper inside.
As it was another beautiful sunny Marlborough day the dash board of the car provided a good spot to dry it all out.
Half an hour later a slightly crunchy log was refolded and rewrapped and replaced.
Suggest a more water tight container as that low spot is right in the path of surface water run off in that area.

Easy find...but was completely soaked through when we found it...couldn't write on it even...needs some work. Nice 'obvoius' spot, and yes...I read the plaque.
Found after spotting camo. Just snaplock bags holding a very very very wet log. Suspect hiding place suffered from Boxing Day downpour. Had spare eclipse tin so used that. Had to modify hide slightly to accomodate. No pen or pencil.
The last cache of the day, and the worst so far in NZ. There are no film canister anymore, only logbook in plastic bag. Luckily, it was not as wet as it could be. But the view of winery was good! Thanks and greetings from Latvia!
Man in tractor mowing the grass... We waited till he was at the far end of his run.
had to park the van in the right place as workers working in the vines across the road.
Was not in film canister like stated, more like plastic bas, no pen to log date either, s was unable to write my details down.
#564 Out and about in Blenheim today on our quick trip to the area for the weekend. Thanks for the history, very interesting. Quick find. SL.TFTC.
#15 When a keen geocacher (Mum) comes to visit, we all have to go geocaching. Nice to see some familiar and not so familiar places in a local town. SL. TFTC.
Easy find, although had to make sure the nearby muggles didn't see us. They were otherwise occupied. TFTC
1650hrs When aerial posting a bag is as good as a box. The Italian Job was here......! Our blog www.motorhominginxs.blogspot.com
Easy find, but i think it is in need for a real container. There was only a blank piece of paper insite the cache.
One scrap of paper in its own wee little bag otherwise rest of paper is now paper mache.
Quick find - but log paper very wet, despite triple-bagging. Nice to read the plaque and discover that our visit was on the 90th anniversary of the return flight, to the day. TFTC.
3/3 for the day.
Part of Blenheim I haven't been to for over 20 years.
Cache logs a bit wet.

A fascinating piece of Marlborough history - easily missed if not for this cache. Replaced wrecked outer plastic bag - logpook/paper quite wet. TFTC
Super quick find with dad on a rainy day. Log book is wet, added a new piece of paper and bag. Thanks!
(370) Nice easy find.. Cache needs repairs.. However still managed to log visit.. TFTC, SL.
Found the cache under water after a night of heavy rain, the contents were soaked, added a new scrap of paper with my name but this is probably wet by now as well. An interesting spot historically, thanks for brining us here. SL 1130hr TFTC
Found nice and easy, lived in Blen at big lot of my life and didn't know the history. TFTC
#1305 (19/22, day 3/4 of Easter trip to Blenheim). Interesting monument next to the ubiqitous grape vines. TFTC.
An interesting piece of information, I learn something new every day I geocache!

Interesting plaque on site. Quick find on the last day of my South Island geocache holiday. SL TFTC
Interesting history. What also was interesting was the spelling of the word flights at the bottom of the brass plaque. (fligths)

Interesting plaque. The cache container was flattened so replaced it with a new one. TFTC
Very nice took my mum on a caching adventure and she picked where it was straight away - beginners luck although it was fairly obvious, very nice little history lesson too, Cheers TFTC
A quick find today during a stop on the way to the ferry. Very interesting little bit of history, thanks for bringing me here. Signed log, TFTC
Had visited this location before when the cache was missing, so it was a quick find this time. PB did the needed, and Annie took photos of the grapevines.

Nice history at GZ. Cache a little mangled in its hiding place but contents still dry. TFTC, Biggles.
Thanks taking me here. Being an ex fly boy I found this plaque extra interesting.
Interesting spot out here.. Container was a bit squashed.. Tried to put it back to its original shape.. Thanks for the cache..
Interesting bit of history. PLEASE NOTE: The cache was completely saturated and log book un-readable. Dried it out and put in a temporary log but you might want to replace the container as it is obviously not watertight and needs a bit more cover against the elements. Thanks!
The things we now take for granted. I now expect stuff to be couriered overnight from one end f the country to the other now.
A couple of vine yard workers pruning so hope we looked interested in the plaque.
working our way back home and had to go down this road, having put this in gps ages ago. cool cache, but the container has snuck out from under it's hide. The only spare we had was too big sorry. hope you can get to replace it soon as this is a great peice of history. thnx
DNF There was nothing there to find today. We were hoping this had been replaced since Grandalf visited, as the cache is still active. Ah well, still an educational visit.
The owners confirmed it has gone, but they granted me permission to log it, as I described exactly where it was meant to be. The plaque was most interesting, but the airfield is now a vine field!! Thanks from Grandalf(1598)
Followed the GPS for a quick find - after a DNF at previous cache site. Interesting read. TFTC
Driven past this spot hundreds of times but the 1st time we have ever stopped- thanks for giving us a reason!! TFTC!! SL
Second find for the day. Had a few muggles trying to figure what we were up to. Cool spot for a cache. Also had a look at the monument Thanks for bringing me here. TFTC TNLNSL (270)
I've found your cache!
Recently I had a bit of spare time in the upper end of the South Island and I managed to find a large number of geocaches. Unfortunatly due to an unexpected trip to Australia for family reasons I was called away from my Nelson adventures.... Now three weeks on I'm having to sit back and log the piles of caches that I did manage to find while I was down there. As there were a large number of caches, I've decided to throw in a generic log for all but a few of them.
Being a North Islander I was surprised at the sheer number of (glow in the dark) polar bears living in the upper South Island - I really didn't think it was that cold down there. And if I had of cottoned on eariler I could have traded for pretty much an entire chess set, one piece at a time. As it was I tended not to trade geo-junk but I did move a small number of geocoins around.
Of the caches I found I could not possibly choose a favorite but there are certainly both some challenging and very rewarding caches in the area. The best caches tend to be the ones where the owner has put in a bit of extra effort or extra thought into the challenge and design of the cache, thanks to all those who did. I was also very surprised to see that there are a large number of caches placed in and around graveyards - I've never visited so many in shuch a short space of time. I was pleased to see some new ideas around as well.
Warmest Regards,
Bobo.

A nice easy find but the log was really soaked so I dried everything out that I could and left a new dry log ready for the next cacher.. Cheers Bo
Log absolutely sopping wet and slightly green... Unable to log in actual log! Will need a helping hand.
A quick find before heading back for dinner - an interesting slice of history. TFTC
