Eventually found with some help. Was looking far too far away before! I'll get myself a hand held GPS to help soon!!
How weird. I have been here so many time to find this and thought I had really not worked out where to add what to what. Today I googled..convinced myself that what I had done all the other times was right...went back and it led me to the same annoying spot...I screamed a little but the weirdest thing occured...the cache was there..exactly where I have looked and looked and looked...sooooo blinken weird!!!!!!!! Is it possible that every other time Ive looked it had been muggled.....never were there people there so they couldnt have had it in hand...its just spookey!!!!
Spent some time looking in hidey holes, before re-reading the clue, found I had added and subtracted the wrong way round. Once I had that part correct it didn't take long. No need to get prickled at all.

Argh. GZ kept pointing 4-6m into an unpleasant collection of spikey plants. In the end did some serious gorse bashing, but no luck. Great view, so objective met TFTC.
Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 174. Finished it off before taking on the Labyrinth. Thanks.
Nicely hidden cache. Good view from here - shame about all the fireworks just left at the lookout. SL TFTC
had just found Labyrinth so decided to try this multi whilst out for a run in the cold and rain. Nice quick one, thanks, as I didn't want to spend too much time up there in my running shorts. Great views though, even on a day like this. TFTC
12.35pm. Nice multi, and some great views.

Short stroll up from the carpark while my sister waited down below. After clearing all the gravel off the sign that someone had dumped there quickly got the answer and a quick find. GC #2300. Thanks J 'N' K, great views apart from the powerlines!
An enjoyable multi. Didn’t realized that there was another fenced off lookout further up from the lookout by the road. Great views up here today on a such a fine sunny day. GPS was pointing another metre or 2 from GZ but once we were close enough found the prize in a rather nice hidey hole. Was expecting a bit of a walk so it was unexpected surprise to find that we had reached GZ so quickly! By then, we’d built up an appetite and as it was almost lunch time we headed on to the “You can’t beat Wellington on a great day†cache to have a picnic lunch there. Thanks J 'N' K.
Found on way home from church after having intended to do so for some time. Harbour was flat as on a beautiful still day. TFTC
Yes, there has possibly been a muggle at work. We replaced it today and will keep an eye on it just in case that same muggle returns.
Great spot and interesting history. Am quite certain we found where the final cache should be, but alas perhaps a muggle has been at work?
Cool cache, excellent views.
TFTC. SL.
A tip for other cachers (including recent DNFs): do the calculations against the decimals of seconds, not the seconds themselves - I made this mistake initially, too.

Nice view from up here on Waitangi Day 2009, albeit a tad windy! Found the cache without any difficulty, having used similar technology for a hide of my own SL TFTC
Well, I think we misunderstood this one somewhere. Annie did the sums yesterday and decided that she would have been either in thin air or thick gorse to find it, so aborted the hunt. Came back today with PB who checked the sums and came up with the same inaccessible location, so blowed if we know where it is. Ah well, we didn't have any luck with the one across the road either.
A quick find this afternoon, the second of four along the ridgeline. Well concealed cache. Signed log, TFTC!
I've never stopped here before. A nicely hidden cache to complete my caching on a warm Wellington Anniversary Day.
Thanks, J 'N' K.

The last of 4 up on the ridge here today at 5pm. Nice one to finish with after the work out required to do Mt Lowry and Beech view (return trip from Lees Grove). Some exercise for the brain here rather than the legs. Lovely afternoon with light southerly wafting through.SL TFTC.
Nice view of the local penneplains.

Did this cunning little multi in two steps. Found and loaded coords for second stage then skipped off to do beach view. Finishing off the second stage on our return, so a bit of a long winded way to do it. After a couple of journeys up and down the path the penny dropped and we found the hide. Good one we enjoyed it. Quick and easy find on the way back to the car.. Found the cache VERY exposed.. Hid it a bit better but still very accessible.. Thanks for the cache..
Lovely lookout - not the best day to be making use of it though. Cheers Gav [2461]
What a great spot - never knew it was here always driving pass this spot weekly. Cool hide TFTC TNLNSL

Never knew this was up here before discovering this cache. TFTC. Had to wait a while for a muggler runner who had come down from the Ridge Track, and after a bit of manoeuvering the extraction commenced. Great hide. TNLN.
#147. Took several tries with the arithmetic! Found it in the end. Nice hide.

It helps to subtract the numbers from the decimal places, not the whole minutes...idiot. Once brain was engaged, a quick find of a well placed minicache. TNLNSL.
I first tried to find this one almost a year ago. We tried it without any info on the cache, just the coordinates, and came up empty handed. Surprise, surprise.
Decided to come back today to get this one and a few others in the area. It was no problem this time around. Quite a clever hide!

A well hidden cache. The mention of wire in the clues points to the probable location.
Had excellent views of the harbor and Petone. The cache had us scratching heads for a bit until we checked the size and then found quickly.
We enjoyed all the caches we visited in a 15 day period and where pleased with the location and the size of the hides. Managed to find at least 1 cache a day and given we have a small baby that is pretty good.

8.00am. First for the morning on a beautiful calm sunny day!!
We can see the next two from here. Great views all round.
I like these puzzles! Thank you. David with Michael.

A clever hide, a simple puzzle and great views!
Despite the wind whipping us with lashes of rain (returned to the city immediately which was so sunny!) we twisted up the hill to find a gem of a place that has never been noticed before.
Thanks for this excellent hide. A recommended cache!

Finally got it. When following the instructions to the letter, I was sent on a wild goose chase across the road and onto the firebreak. Came home, decrypted Wanderingpom's comments (a couple of comments down) and this set me right.
5th cache today.
Mucked around in the wet solving the puzzle, before setting out to find the real thing. Got ahead of myself and jumped to bad conclusions! A better GPS set me right though.

Nice one my last for the day, I thought it was going to be a quick one on the way past from doing the caches in the valley but ended up taking little longer and it was getting dark so had trouble reading the info so had to do it by feel, love the hide well done.
[Great view and no wind, very rare. TFTC ]
The coordinates given are in degrees and minutes(DD MM.MMM) with no seconds portion so subtracted from the S and E parts of minutes.

Walked in from 'Point of View' cache. Enjoyable track with wonderful views. Had to wait for muggles at GZ to have a smoke. Great hidey hole.
Found the initial site with no worries but had to hunt a bit to locate the cache - loved the hiding spot! Fantastic views out over Petone beach and the lower valley from this spot TFTC

We had to come back and finish this one after trying it the day it had been published only to find already muggled.
This time, a very simple find, and we were glad to get this one ticked off the list.
The views really are great around this cache

12:38 Quick easy find this time with EJ. Glad to know it was missing & I wasn't (quite) crazy the 1st time. We had lunch overlooking the wonderful view. TFTC. SL.
Happy to find this one plus had a little unexpected bonus of being FTF it seems . Learnt how to get distances on my GPSr but didn't realise it had a calculator function as well so did all sorts of long division on a bit of paper [xx(].
Really foggy up there but rain had stopped so no problem. Well done, many thanks.

After much wailing and gnashing of teeth, this cache is hopefully now ready to be found. The co-ords are now hopefully correct and the cache itself has been replaced with a new improved model. With any sort of luck somebody will find it before it gets muggled! Enjoy

Doing the maths to the last digit of the seconds resulted in GZ being on plaque on rock. Obviously not. I then guessed the pipe railings and checked all around the location but no micro. From the crushed grass, I think someone else had also done this.
Rechecked maths and added / subtracted to the first digit of the seconds and got result over 1 km away. Decided was not good so used clue. Scouted entire area and bench seats but no cache.
Have I done it wrong? Or has it been lifted already? Pity, as great views.

They were probably our tracks you saw, my co-ords lead me to a nice big gorse bush right next to the railing, but no luck finding it either
Your right about the views though, very nice.
Your right about the views though, very nice.
You are both right! We went up there this evening and it was gone, which surprised us as it certainly wasn't easily visible and we went to a great deal of trouble to prepare its final resting place. Maybe Dinger's ghost wasn't happy with us! We will sort this out and have it up and running again soon. We also got co-ords round the wrong way, so all in all a pretty poor effort. We'll try harder next time.
