I saw this one was archived yesterday... a shame really. I needed a decent drive after lunch so the geokids could have a snooze, they were both tired today. Probably because they're waking up at 4:45AM! Anyway, this seemd like a good target to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Another wingaap find and a long drive.
Even though some may describe it as rubbish, others will drive from the other side of Brisbane to find them. There's two sides to every story I guess.
Cheers wingaap

Cachers cant be bothered to hide it as it was placed.....and now it's been classed as rubbish.

Judging by the name of this cache, I was expecting something a little challenging. But as I approached GZ the cache was clearly visible. Not sure if this is the CO's intention...
Anyway I signed the log and returned the cache as I found it.
Thanks Wingaap

Stopped here on my way north, Had me scratching my head for a while till I spotted something ....Ah Ha got ya. Good one wingaap. Made sure it was neatly concealed again.
Up in Brisbane for a quick trip to sign contracts with a client and I was staying with a friend in a house just near GZ, so just had to come and get this one. Cache was not at all where I initially thought, but after trusting the iPhone I soon had the cache in hand. Added a bit of extra cammo as it was naked to the world. TFTC

Easy find in fact too easy. I was expecting a longer look. All good, another day done for geo month. TFTC
Found with esixtyone

Daily dose, out with Pilchers for a quick drive by. Once again, exposed. Tried to cover up a bit more but still quite obvious. TFTC!
Souvenir collection is the aim of August. I came here earlier tis year but had no luck and felt s if I should be waving at the residences across the road. Popped in today on a spur of the moment; maybe today was the day to turn this cache into a Smiley Cyrus. Sure enough, there it was, exposed and obvious but signed and returned with a little extra cover. tftc wingaap. A bit different to your bush creations!

A very clever hide! Thought I wasn't going to be able to find this, and after taking a seat on the kurb, the cache was in hand... Cache and contents were in good condition.
TFTC, wingaap.

#303 TFTC... second time looking for this one, last time was in the dark. This time during the day and a super easy spot. took TB
Last day of the financial year, and I wanted a find to finish the month off. I was passing this way and remembered this cache. I had been here and searched before but the cache was missng then.
Immediately in pulling up I noticed the sign that I had searched oreviously looked the same, with its missing "lid". Searched for a while unsuccessfully and then expanded the search somewhat. Hmmm. Tricky one.
Was scratching my head standing right at GZ, when I noticed something slightly out of place. Ahhha! Got you! Sgned the log and grabbed the TB. Nice hide, Wingaap. Thanks for the cache.

GPS had us in one particular spot, but the only likely spot to hide a small was empty, so either:
1) GPS was pointing to the wrong spot
2) We are just blind
3) Cache is missing
I'm guessing it's 1 or 2! We'll come back again another day.

I have no idea why a 'needs maintenance' was posted. The cache is right where it was placed.
Dear Mr Wingaap this cache has been tampered with and need some repair. I can send you some photos if you would like.
Found[Time to Find: 8 min] I found this one or should I say what is left of it. The cache has been removed and disposed of . Unfortunately Mr Wingapp your tribute to the SES is gone for the time being.
Third visit, first in daylight and with eagle-eyed Mrs C.Ponies.
Geokids (KitCat101 & Sonic.XII) were also in the hunt.
With the full C.Ponies team all hunting we soon had cache in hand, finally.
Thanks wingapp.

Took us a while to realise it was in front of us the entire time.
A bit easy to be spotted by muggles, but nonetheless - TFTC.

Well, I'm glad I had help finding this cache! If not for egginthesky and her awesome cache finding abilities I think this cache could have easily become a nemesis cache for me. The eggy one and myself were out on a night time caching adventure and this was a must do for us while in the area. Egginthesky had been here previously with no luck. Tonight however there was few muggles crossing our path and hunting was made a little easier. After searching for quite a while and an unsuccessful PAF we still didn't have a log book to sign. Luckily egginthesky retried one certain area just as we were headed to the car, sadly about to DNF. YAY! The cache! Very sneaky!!!!!!

On a night out with[purple] Nyssaflutterby [/purple]caching through the area, we stopped off to find and log this cache.
ohhhhh boy, so I have driven past here so many times without luck of having a muggle free zone to search.
tonight with Nyssa, we decided to stop here and search. we searched everywhere about 20 times (and went over GZ a few times too, before trying to PAF. even after the PAF we were completely cache-less! ...
about to give up and go home, i decided to feel around the place we first started again... and what do you know... there was the cache location!
So happy to finally get this one! I would totally up the D on it though

Solo night attempt at a wingaap cache unsuccessful. iPhone in one hand, garmin in the other. Dodging muggles from all directions at a time if night that I'd expected to be more quite.
Every time I looked at the Garmin it was pointing somewhere new. Left, right, then middle of the road!
Gave up when the muggles took too much interest in me.
Will try another day/night.

With the help of the photo the clues ants nest and nimble fingers it was somehow here right ? But how would a geocoin fit if its there? So frustrated may return at a later date
Oh my.
This really is a pig of a cache.
Very simple, very sneaky.
So much about the survival of this cache would depend on cachers replacing it exactly as it needs to be hidden.
It deserves to survive because it's a little lesson about how elegant and simple a good cache can be.
There are plenty of muggles around and plenty of places for people to spy from. But it's not impossible to be sneaky.
Signed log and left a pathtag (first of the new blue and purple quartpotpobblebonk path tags to be left in a cache).
Thanks, Wingaap

Well it is either truly a pig of a cache, or I am as a blind as a bat. Spent a bit of time looking in obvious and not so obvious places, but no banana, no pig, no bat, nada.
I have FINALLY found this one. This has been on my 'To Do' list for quite some time but, for whatever reason, I haven't been able to record a find for this one. Today is my lucky day, though, and I get a smiley face here!
Thanks Wingy for all the effort of getting this one unarchived & replacing it.

replaced the cache....just posting this one to get rid of the "need maintenance" notifications
I knew that I could get this one with perseverance! Clever hide. No tools but patience required. Tftc
Found the second time round with some help from a fellow cacher. On the first time try there was too much assuming going on. Cache all good.
I think I've found the cause of the problem. Cachers are not rehiding as found.
I replaced the cache for the last time.
Many thanks to Ministro for unarchiving this one
Please rehide as you found it

So sad as it seems each time Will.I.Am.elia and the old hag came to look the cache was missing
Ah. The old pocket query conundrum. This one still showed up on my old pocket query, and I like to log DNF's if I search, even if it has been archived. I was driving past today and pulled up in the handy carpark. One roadside barrier sign thingy is missing a lid to one of the support pipes, so I guess that is where it used to be.
I am in the area regularly and have put off collecing this one at least two or three times for a variety of reasons. Lesson learnt from this is not to put off what you should do today till tomorrow.
Thanks Wingaap.

Tired of replacing this one. Obviously someone...or some muggle knows the spot
Sad...it was one of my favourites

On a hot, muggy Brisbane day, I was determined to get this one, on my 'to do' list for quite sometime.
I got there and, of course, my GPSr pointed in the direction of the forbidden island, but knew to avoid it. Then, having scoured the area, I decided that a 'Phone a Friend' option was in order.
Once connected, it quickly became apparent that the cache is no longer there which is a shame because this one is a troublesome hide, apparently.
Shame.
At least I'll know where to look if/when this ohne gets replaced.
Thanks for all your efforts, Wingaap...

Wingy,
See previous log, but I have been reliably informed by Mr Rastas that I was looking at an empty hiding place for this one.

no luck here today nothing obvious and too many worker muggles for an extended search. Did find a female higene product though assumed that want the cache!
We started looking in the wrong area, phone GPS was everywhere and pointed to the traffic island we were supposed to avoid.
Went and got Ms Garmin and headed in the right direction. I spotted something and after waiting for muggles to pass by, let geoson loose with his torch and we spotted our treasure.
Thanks Wingaap

Thanks to Wingaap for replacing this one. All was in fine condition here today and it was good to have something to hold after a couple of disappointing trips. Fingers crossed that the SES are able to have a quiet summer this year.
Damn...I hope this hasn't gone again
Disabled until I can get over and check it out.

I had been here before with Will.I.Am.elia & Co., and we couldn't find it.
We had PAF who advised us we were looking in the right place, and a few weeks later I noticed that this had been replaced. We haven't got to this side of town since then, but today after our mission was compete we decided to come and get it.
We were saddened to find that it is once again gone -- missed our chance once again
thanks for the hund wingaap

I wanted to find this one between appointments today. I don't come through here often, but wanted to try a few of wingaap's caches. I only had ten minutes, but couldn't come up with the goods unfortunately. I had a couple of ideas about where it could be, but not to be. Saw some dog poo on the ground, but decided this was highly unlikely to be the cache...
Was it on the traffic island? jk
I'll try this one again next time I'm driving through Newmarket.

Rats! No piggies for me today... I decided that things that wouldn't budge were unlikely to be caches... Some close attention to other areas produced nothing but some lawn grubs who appear to be intent upon denuding the GZ... so I left, a tad disappointed. Oh well, there'll be another time. TFTC anyway, WingAAP.
Wow, Cool! My first Wingaap cache! I was so excited and I wasnt disapointed. I made a very quick grab with the second thing I touched turning out to be the cache. I popped back to the car for the logging and then added a geocoin to travel onwards. Putting it back took a little longer due to some muggle cars all deciding to go past at that moment. Great hide and this gets a Favourite point from me.
We found it! After a nite at the footy, we saw this cache come up. Not being in my neck of the woods, I thought why not! Great hide. Very clever.
What a great cache. Took a look at many alternatives before GPS honed in on one location. Then had to think laterally to come up with cache. Better half won out here. Very clever.
Out and about in the area to start the bike trails but went to this cache first. TNLN TFTC Love your work. Thanks Wingaap
Another cache following P Prime around. His log is much more detailed for this cache! Yes it's a beaut and I was tickled pink to find it. Had to hang back waiting for walkers, talking to passers by and keeping an eye on the verandah drinkers in the house opposite. Then a train arrived and disgorged passengers so they had to walk past too. Finally I got to snatch up the clever cache. I do hope it stays, it's too good to miss. A ripper. Gets a favourite from me.
Found @ 11:23 on 10/03/2012. This was my 17th find of 47 total finds today. He he, snagged this one almost straight away on a quiet day.
I worked closely with the SES last year around the state for Floods and Yasi response - and we stayed in the same sodden motel in Emerald early January. Great guys and girls - mostly from Townsville and Mackay - they sure knew how to put in the hard yards - up before dawn and not back until sunset - in summer - but boy did the place need it. They also can eat like hyenas and drink like fish. Am proud to have been party with them in support of Queensland.

Great hide, first to sign in the new log book, probably the closest I'll ever get to a FTF. Thanks wingaap.
Relogging this under individual account, previously a member of Gaz'n'Kab account.
After work today, we headed out, and given all of the rain, it was only fitting for us to show up at the SES, with piles of sandbags ready for collection
Gaz wandered off, however Kab quickly spotted the cache Signed the logbook, however it was a little damp.
TFTC wingaap, a nice hide indeed

After unsuccessful approaches to nearby caches, I headed for one not near anything resembling a waterway. This one however had its own wet weather related story. Because of the heavy rain of late, the carpark had been converted into a sandbag repository for the public to avail themselves of to mitigate potential flooding. Here is me in suit, tie and pants whilst near by were the residents in gumboots and muddied attire! Needless to say, my HD2 was spot on, and aside from the massive colony of ants in residence a great cache and a good disguise. TFTC
1113 - I didn't even have a chance to get out of the car to find this cache as Brissy Guy Junior jumped out as soon as we stopped and had it in his hands within 5 seconds. The cache is still in good condition when we found it at 3:01pm this afternooon. Thanks for the hide wingaap.
Happy New Year & happy 100th find !! Woo Hoo !!
I thought this one was about to get away & then I checked a few logs & found a clue that helped me to
stumble upon the hiding spot... Fantastic hide, great camo, tricky to stay hidden unless you go on Jan 1st @ 7pm

found today while out caching... tried moving an item and was like... this doesn't move. odd. of wait, thats how it moves
The geotoddler fell asleep on the way to visit friends so I had an hour of aimless driving to do....instead I did three easy caches. This was number 1 and I must have been in a wingaap frame of mind, I had the cache in hand and the log signed in moments. TFTC
In response to the last log....it is clearly stated in the description:

Went with Barb who had done this one before. "Looks like its gone she says". Hang on, whats this. Nice hide and well camouflaged. TFTC
Found it!!! Even though this is my 111th cache I still feel like a newbie as I've only been caching solo for a couple of months so to find this one so quickly (within 2 minutes) I am feeling quite proud of myself. thanks for the cache and more so for that... "I found it!!!" feeling.
Got it this time. Knowing the area meant we knew all the nooks and crannies
Cache replaced.....new container, log book etc
Coords remain unchanged
Happy hunting

Looked at the spot the garmin took me to, and looked in the 3 obvious spots, then looked further afield.
In desperation decided to PAF, who racalled a likely spot which was where I had already looked, so I checked again after getting a tool out of the gypsy with a travel bug.
Still nothing found.
Will have to put this one on my watch list

Spent quite a while looking for this one however alas no luck. I examined every aspect of the sign but it at the end of the 20 min examination it remained to be just a sign. This obiously has tricked quite a few people so I will be keeping an eye on this one to see if someone else finds it
Spent a good hour or so with Lamort looking for this one, and reading and re-reading the description, the hint and all of the previous logs. Got nowhere and nothing.
Living 50m from GZ went back and forth from computer to GZ after reading every clue in the logs. Even resorted to a torch at one stage to look down "holes".
Will continue to look for it in my spare moments.
Will continue to look for it in my spare moments.
Tried this one this afternoon but after a search of about 20 minutes or so we called it off. We found the wire, we found a peg, we found the sign but we didn't find the cache. Had a good look but nothing stood out for us. Onto the watch list, for a future visit. Thanks for the challenge Wingaap, we will be back!
I don't know how much clearer I can make this.......THE WIRE that people mention HAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO with this cache
Oh it was pretty clear Wingaap, as I read through the logs when I was on site, but I thought I would mention it as it seems I found everything else there but the cache. We like a challenge so we will be back soon Thanks for making it crystal clear though
3rd time lucky for this one. With a little help from a number of sources including the owner we finally tracked this one down. Really lived up to its name. Clever hide yet in an obvious place. Found with Maldude. Thanks for the cache .... I think
Found ok after a brief search of GZ. Initially, i had my doubts on finding this one after reading previous logs and with the day drawing to a close, i was ready to just head home. So i thought i would follow your advice wingaap, i placed my hand on the 'sign' and found a cache. Thanks for another great hide wingaap. Love it
Oh you have to be kidding me, it can't have been THERE all this time? Even after looking everywhere including places I really shouldn't have, I still can't believe it! Wingaap, I have to dip my hat to you on this one. So innocent but pure evil at the same time. TFTC!
Now that I know where this one is I can keep tabs on it on SES training nights. If a bunch of DNF's come up I'll check it out and post a comment
