Worked out the co ords ok, but 6 pairs of eyes searched high and low but couldn't find the cache. Noticed lots of activity had been around the area , maybe cache has been muggled.
Caching this afternoon with McLookers, Motndarg, Tomstache, and Beckster 22. We got the coordinates and made our way to GZ. We spent quite a bit of time with many eyes looking but couldn't make the find.

After a lot of searching this wet afternoon with a group, we had to admit defeat. We hope the cache is still there as it has been a while since it was found.
Found this one while on the way home from a long day of caching on the BSRT trail with Sorceysal. We quickly figured out the coordinates and were on our way to the final spot. The coords had us about 10-12 metres out but after searching around for a while we soon had the cache found and logged. Thanks for this one sully1.
Headed to Ballarat today with Dutch Frangipani do walk the BSRT series. After walking for 4 hours it was time to do some drive bys and give the legs a rest. Dutch Frangipani wanted to try her new magellan on an easy multi and this was on the way back to the Marsh. Found GZ and quickly got the co-ords for stage 2. Dutch Frangipani's gps had us going for a 1.5 kilometre trip but my gps had us going about 500 metres. Decided to try my gps co-ords first and low and behold my gps was right.
The final co-ords had us about 12 metres south of the cache but we searched around after reading previous logs and quickly had the cache in hand. Dutch Frangipani will have to have some more practice with her gps on multi's.
Thanks for placing this cache sully1 and giving us the opportunity for some more walking which I am sure we didn't need after walking 12klms on the BSRT earlier.

Wow .. small bush walk in rainy weather .. good for the soul, very cleansing .. tftc
Found this afternoon in the company of flyingwalrus49 and duchess_of_cornwall. We did walk from WP1 to the GZ however mostly because as the Yaris had taken us soo far so well today we really weren't tempted to see how it would perform on the track we walked along! A very nice walk however, thanks sully1 for the cache!
Found!

After celebrating the NZ Mega successfully we moved to the mining area. Luckily the only things we found were numbers which led us towards a well hidden little cache.
Satellites today had our calculated GZ 10m south of where we found the cache.

Another legendary cache run by The Demolition Crew (myself, TrailRunning, Quasar3671 and Rebel Acts). We have dubbed it Ballarat Smackdown II. This was a huge run taking us all the way from near Cardinia, via the northern suburbs of Melbourne, to Bacchus Marsh and Melton and finally Ballarat. A massive loop, and over 100 caches for the run. The company was as always fantastic, a lot of laughs, good dinner, and great caches. Many thanks to all the CO's for the hides, without them we wouldn't have been able to find anything.
Solved the multi no problem, and were careful of mines, being night and all, but the excessive amount of lumens of light we poured over the area was pretty impressive.... TFTC.

This cache was found by me today in the company of The Demolition Crew.
While I strive to make my logs personal to every cache, I have far too many logs to do, that I apologise in this instance for using a generic log. I thank you for the placement of this cache as it was one of many that made up a great day for me and the crew..
The Day's Blurb...
The annual holidays is always a great time to relax and take it easy, but not today. The Demolition Crew had decided that after such a long break from caching together that we would start the year off with a bang! So the planning minds were put into operation, and Ballarat Smackdown II was conceived.
The smackdown started along way from Ballarat, in fact in the hills around Cardinia Reservoir and from there is was a push across the northern suburbs of Melbourne through Melton & Bacchus Marsh. It being such a hot day, the waters of Pykes Creek Reservoir cooled and refreshed us, and we were soon off to start on the Ballarat caches.
Since our first Smackdown in the area, many new caches have popped up, so it was a fruitful run which ended well into the early morning. A couple of caches were replaced as a way of saying thanks to those who took the time to place them, and I think in the end my tally was well over 100 for the run.
It was a completely awesome day, and I thank you for placing the cache. We will return to the Ballarat area soon as there are still a number of caches we left undiscovered.

This was one of over 110 caches I found during a huge day and night of caching with my fellow cachers Trailrunning, Rebel Acts and Blacklegend (The Demolition Crew). As we all had the day free we carefully planned in advance the run and decided to call it Ballarat Smackdown II. The plan was ambitious and resulted in almost 22 hours of continual caching.
The day started in the early hours of the morning in the far eastern suburbs of Melbourne, then moving through the northern suburbs then onto and along the Western Freeway to Enfield State Forest then north up to Ballarat itself. We cached through Melton, Pykes Reservoir and Bacchus Marsh and many of the country roads north and south of the Western Freeway as we made our way west.
We had a fantastic day finding all the different types of caches and there were some quite inventive, very tricky and well constructed hides that we found. I thank all the cache owners for the time and effort they have spent in placing all the caches we found today.

Nice little multi. However last stage was a off by about 10m or so. Use your eyes for this one.
This cache has been on my to do list since I started geocaching and I decided that today was finally the day, I looked for about 15 minutes before spotting the container from about 5 meters away, co-ords are probably 10 to 15 meters out

ST37E and I were able to work out the co-ords from the warmth of the car, then we set out in the rain to find the cache. ST37E found it while I was heading in the wrong direction. No muggle activity, nice hide, TNLN TFTC!
no we were off doing mind the mines too.. But obviously had wrong co-ords... When leaving I spotted your 4x4 but by the time I caught up to Kamabugs to say Im going back you were gone
My 350th cache, Yippie! Found with Shamus1. We passed the Smegheads TB 4X4 vehicle parked on the track on the way here but didnt see them anywhere... Perhaps they were placing a new cache nearby.
Hurrah! found this one at 5pm and we would agree it was 13 metres from our co-ords with it's back to us, so a little elusive! Took: soldier Left:gem stone. SL TFTC

After being in Ballarat two weeks ago it was back today with the suscoe team to add a few more smiley's to my tally. Our aim was to find a few mysteries and others as we passed by.
Gathered the needed figures and worked out where we needed to go. Looking up the hill I thought this might need the Pajero in 4x4 but around the corner was a very easy track to GZ.
On arrival we had to widen our search as others have had to do before finding the cache. Nobody at home today but we were careful. Thanks sully1 for the cache.

Found with geoAmba on our Vic & SA adventure trek on a perfect day for caching. I got the numbers and headed off hoping the maths was right, and saw some fresh car tracks as I arrived so it looked OK. Then had a big search all around in a 10m circle and could not see an obvious spot. Widened the search area and finally spotted a nasty hide about 13m from my GZ. There were hundreds of insects flying out of the hide just as I tried to retrieve the cache, looks like they are breeding in there. TNLNSL TFTC,

Drove up to the location of the starting coordinates and gathered all of the necessary information we (BenDigiFu consisting of benny7210, myself & Cache_boppin_BunnyFuFu - Wisconsing, USA) BunnyFuFu did the math and came up with the coordinates for the final cache. Short drive up and we were soon at GZ. Wandered around for awhile, but BunnyFuFu finally came up with the find. A bit off on coordinates for us but not bad. Didn't see any mines while in the area. Thanks for the Cache Hide!
My Hubby (Digital_Dan) & I are on vacation with our good friends, Mr & Mrs benny7210. Made out way from Ballarat where we are staying, picking up caches along the way. Doing multies, I have learned.. write the info you need down first THEN go find the answers. It helps especially if there is math in brackets. LOL Got the numbers we needed and off we went. Glad he rented a 4WD..a bit bumpy to the final area, but no problem for us.

Since we were already deep in what Mr J described as a "4 wheel drive fun park" we proceeded to this one. No probs here; not even bogans or mozzies (though by now every inch of my flesh is so itchy maybe I didn't notice new itches). Nicely hidden. NINO TFTC

Crunched the numbers then drove to gz. Even after all of the publicity about hoon and dangerous driving, we were surprised to see a ute being driven very erratically with two topless youths in the back rocking it from side to side as it tore down the road. Perhaps they were the bogans mentioned in earlier logs. There is just no getting through to some of the youths. Anyway, found the hide after a short search. I took the geocoin. Thanks for the cache sully1

Solved the puzzle ok then 3up found the cache after a bit of searching near GZ. As with the nearby cache, the mozzies were ferocious here too.
The waypointing stuff was easy but getting to the cache was a challenge, drove the hatchback down a few tight and lumpy roads to still end up some ways away. The GPS wouldn't settle down underneath all the trees but I eventually stumbled across the hide.
I was going to do the other multi's in the area but I saw some yokels on their dirtbikes without helmets, it made me remember someone else logging on a multi just near here talking about their car getting trashed by bogans. So I got out of there before I got their attention.

A nice little multi that took us to some bush we had never been to before. Having lived in a similarly mined area on the opposite side of Ballarat I saw quite a bit of evidence of mines though!

Found the sign at WP1 but didn't get out of the car to read it, maybe I should have brought my glasses, it would have been easier to read. Made the calculations and located GZ, signed the log and then it was off to the Brisbane Ranges in my 'clean up the rest of sully1's caches' I haven't done day out. Thankyou L and T for the cache.
Weather was threatening when I left home and the rain was well and truely set in by the time I got to WP1. Luckily however, it was one of those spots from which one can gather the required information without leaving the car. No such luck with Part 2 though. As the rain eased a bit, I managed to nick out and locate the cache just in time for it to crank up again. But, I must admit, it is so nice to smell the bush when it's wet. Many thanks for the journey, Sully1.

Out on a very cold day we thought we would do this multi. We spotted some trail bikes, but they weren't around when we did the cache business. We didn't notice any mines. Left a beautiful geocoin. TFTC.
A great cache, highly recommended. We worked out the questions, then headed to the sight. After ten minutes of searching, the whether started to pack in and teem rain we where sent back to the car. The rain got even heavier so we choose to call it quits and come back after lunch. By the time we went up to the end and turned around, the rain stopped as soon as it started and we set out to look for it again. Fortunately it was clear and we found it within a few minutes of looking.

At wpt 1 we stopped at a very large container and collected the required information. From here things went done hill . We had trouble with incorrect transposing of our information. Once we had calculated our incorrect gz we headed off 1.6 kms away. As this was inside some ones well manicured front garden with not a mine insight we thought that we might be wrong. Realized the error of our ways and headed off again to a more likely location. After searching around an interesting area for awhile with no luck, Diane recalculated again and found another mistake which when corrected put us another 130 metres away. Oh well we need the exercise so off we marched, with still 110 meters to go we saw what looked like a cache hide and bingo it was. Diane again rechecked and found her error, transposed from the first error the gps. Perhaps we should not look for any another multi's today.
We had also left the cache bag in the car so no swaps were made
Thanks sully1 for showing us a lot more of Ballarrat than I think you planned to.

Having donned packs for the hike from Pax Hill to the station, it was nice to dump them temporarily for this detour (although what is it with caches at the tops of hills?! ). I spotted this one before the geoscouts and said only that I had a suspicion of where it was. It didn't take long for the singer of the Kazakhstan national anthem to have his suspicions aroused as well. A nicely stocked cache. Took dinosour and left shark. TFTC.
SamCarter claimed to have had suspicions of where it was but didn't tell us where; we spotted the hide a few seconds later. One of us enjoyed reading the log book while the rest of us debated over what to swap (and the etiquette thereof) as there were lots of good things in the cache. Eventually we took the dinosour and left a shark. TFTC.
After eventually finding the right road in I was able to get the clues without leaving my car (ok ok, I'm lazy, but it was also raining!) From there it was a simple find and I even pretended my car was a 4WD and drove it as far as I could (see previous comment re: laziness/rain.)

This game we play takes us to places we would never have chosen to visit previously, and this was another of these places. Without the equipment we are now using we probably couldn’t have found our way here, anyway!
The object at the posted co-ordinates was certainly imposing, to say the least.
With the required information we proceeded to the search area in our vehicle and only had about 90m of legwork to get us to another easy find.
We left a Mondo Figurine for the cache and took a Butterfly Magnet for a keepsake.

Found 3 metres from GZ, while stopping for a moment I glanced round and thought thatlooks like a spot the cache would be in and heh presto...
Also walked 300m to ground zero.
Took coin purse
Left plush frog T/B, realised the frog croak when stuffing in container by surprise.
Cheers

Found by McAdies at 8pm. Took a roundabout way of finding it though and left the car at Waypoint 1 and walked the way to GZ. Nice hide in pretty out of the way location.

Found by Mary & David at 1200. Tried to imagine the activity around here 150+ years ago. Beautiful native cherry trees don't seem to be too affected by the drought so far. Took pooping cow key ring, left car key ring. Our thanks to sully1.
