We were up at this end of town today for a children's birthday party. At the end the geofamily was hungry so while they enjoyed a spot of lunch I snuck out for a quick cache. This one looked very interesting being so old and also had the last Wonder I needed for my collection, so off I went. As I circled around GZ I spotted something out of place and checked it out - empty - and a bit odd, so I resumed my search, but kept returning to this one spot. A quick squizz at the previous logs revealed that I was probably on the right track, but maybe the log book was missing. So I abandoned the cache and returned to the now sated geofamily. I notified the cache guardian about the potential problem and he was kind enough to allow me to log it. TFTC John-Gill and The Welder - a very cool hide well deserving of a favourite point. TFTC

This was at the furthest limit of our 5km radius pocket query during lockdown 4.0. But after seeing a South African connection, we had to attempt it. Found it In a wonderful reserve within a reserve. TFTC On route to this GZ, many streets away we found these proud proteas and had to take a pic.
Great one. Not particularly hard to find but particularly easy in the dark. Almost fell in a shallow grave on the way out. TFTC

Having seen maintenance performed on this cache, it was time to make a quick find. Not out this way too often, but it was nice to spend some time around here with The Welder in his old stomping ground. Cache looks great, log book signed. Thanks for the cache.

Cache has been picked up and maintenance performed, however I'm currently unable to return the cache to GZ until lockdown restrictions have ended.

Hi there Cache Owner,
It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue with the placement. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.
**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days - Please don't let a lack of communication kill this cache.**
#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-
- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache.**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ) Then sit back and wait for the praises.
- **Place A Write Note Log:-** Reviewers are not mind readers, so without your note on the cache page telling them what the situation is, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and, when the listing is next checked, all will be fine for a little bit longer. But be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it.
If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date), please ensure you visit this page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks so as to keep everyone up to speed with what is happening.
- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another Geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it,**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56) so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.
You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of the above. Well, when the cache is next checked by a Reviewer, if the issue has not been addressed, or there is no acknowledgment as requested above, it will be assumed the cache has been abandoned and processed accordingly.
Honestly, I'd rather you decide, so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.
Thanks for you cooperation,
Bunjil

Awesome spot and great hide. Needs some love as the log is soaked. Lots of bugs to greet you on arrival. Tftc
A beautiful sunny day and not too hot. Which was great as when we got to this cache I thought “uh-oh, snakes ”. Not that I’m frightened of them, I just don’t rush to meet any of them. So we performed what would appear as some type of geocacher-stomping-dance on our way in. Luckily, the Cache-Whisperer got there first, and a straightforward but clever find was made.
Bonus: we are chasing an Anniversary Challenge, so this one suits us perfectly.
**The Cache:** Coordinates spot on, clue was helpful. All good with the container. TNLNSL & replaced as found. Thanks John-Gill for the placement and The Welder for maintaining this 14y.o. cache! Cache on.

Out on Christmas Eve with the geokids picking up a few caches. It was nice to get this old one and add it to our smiley count. Thanks for keeping this one in play The Welder and Merry Christmas.
My GPS had the location bouncing all over the place! Fortunately, I was out with the eagle eyed ozlsn, and we found and very gingerly opened the hide. It's a haven for slugs! Signed and rehidden. TFTC!
Slugs everywhere but weren't sluggish to find. TFTC, and lovely little patch of Bush.
A very nice hide was found mainly in good condition except for a very wet logbook. I have placed a replacement logbook in the cache and left the old one. I love the way you have hidden it. Although it is a slug haven. TFTC.
A clever little first hide here, after a terrific caching walk through the 'burbs.
It's all a bit wet in here and the log was very soggy (though I managed to sign it). Might need replacing and a bit of weather proofing... TFTC

What a relief to head out for a few caches and not need to worry about the 5km zone any longer. I spent a pleasant Sunday morning in Ruffey Lake Park and nearby surrounds to find a bunch of caches here that I hadn't tried before. After a few finds in the park I jumped back in the car and followed the trail through the back streets to the east. Nice easy parking close to this one and not many muggles around fortunately. Took me a little while to zero in as the GPS jumped around a little but I got there in the end. My twelfth find in total for the morning. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for placing this one John-Gill and to The Welder for carrying it on.
A spider on the cache but lucky I’m not shy! Couldn’t sing because it was completely soaked!
Such an interesting find !!! Loved finding it and the dogs really enjoyed the walk!
was at the base of the bush. It was very cool to see the box in the ground (a sense of accomplishment if you will)
Lovely bit of wild bush, but it pays to be careful putting your feet down.
Log is very soggy and difficult to sign.

I'm out for my lunch time walk.
This is a great place to hide it. I was impressed with myself on how fast I found it
The log is very wet.

Terrific find! However, cache is filled with water so log book might need to replaced
Have had a few attempts at this one, but had no luck, however today was the day .. we had convinced ourselves that it must have been buried.. and we were also frightened away by a snake .. but today was certainly the day .. and when the hiding place was eventually sighted.. I couldn’t believe how obvious it appeared to be .. hindsight is a wonderful thing. Thankyou to John-Gill for placing the cache and to The Welder for looking after it
A fine cache on a fine day.
Thanks for maintaining and thanks for not making me move around too much in the scrub.
Thanks for maintaining and thanks for not making me move around too much in the scrub.
Coordinates threw us off, lots of mozzie bites, but worth it for the challenged find, do not follow any ribbon on trees!
Out in the delightful company of echidna44 and with time for a few caches A quick find for me here while echidna44 sat in the geovehicle as it was already a smile for her Thanks for this nicely hidden caxhe

A bit of time to kill this afternoon and this was on my way. A nice stroll through here before the rain comes.
Thanks for placing this cache, and thanks for maintaining it, Welder

Found after looking in the wrong spot for a bit. All in good condition. TFTC
Football on the oval nearby. Thanks for the lipstick eraser. Added some much needed swaps
Yay! Our first cache!
Well the first one we found today that is,
- - -
In need of a walk but certainly not up to 100 km just yet, unlike those much admired stalwarts of the Victorian Geocaching Community. (You know who you are!) Kudos to all of those that made such a magnanimous effort.
- - -
A lovely stroll with +Wife on a rather moist afternoon.
In search of highly favourited hides, not too far from home.
A few muggles, young and old, taking advantage of a short respite, in the nearby playground.
Fortunately none in this area.
- - -
Playing ring-a-ring-a-rosie in amongst the wet trees, waiting for the satellites to make a decision.
The camo was sighted from about five metres away.
A neat hide in a wonderful little pocket of nature.
Thank you for placing this cache for us to find, John-Gill.
A special mention to the Cache Guardian, The Welder for ongoing maintenance and care.

An afternoon wander with n0w0rries so he can get his daily exercise and cache.
I was tempted to take a seat but is was much too wet for my liking.
From the seat there seems to be a marked trail of ribbons in the trees leading almost to the cache.

I inspected the scene today.
The cache hasn't been stolen.
It is still in place, in perfect condition and awaits its next finder...

This was the second of seven caches on tonight’s Donvale Discovery Trail.
There was someone practising Tai-chi in the dark as we arrived, which spooked the younger of the two geohounds. However, once we entered the cache zone we had the area all to ourselves. The coordinates were spot on, and the clue was a big help. Soon the interesting hide was revealed. Nice one - I’ve not seen one like it before.
The inner container floated like a little boat, but all was nice a dry inside. It was great to find a veteran 11-year old cache. Thanks for the placement John-Gill.
Thanks also to The Welder for keeping it going. Haven’t seen a log of yours for a while, although there are mysterious references to your presence in other’s FTF logs TFTC

Very pleasant day to be out and about, especially caching. This is a nice natural bushland setting for the hide. The hint was slightly misleading until I thought it through. When logic prevailed the hide was soon discovered. SL. Traded swappables. Thanks Mister Doctor for looking after the cache and the chase and hunt.
Dipped some trackables.

I decided that with the recent start of daylight savings, I'd make use of the extra daylight and find some caches after work, and achieve my daily step goal.
I parked in the nearby parking area and then found myself confronted by a fence. I went the wrong way to find the access, and had to backtrack. I soon found the access, and after a few minutes of searching in the wrong places, I found the nicely hidden cache container.
There was moisture where it was hidden, but the inside of the cache was nice and dry.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache John-Gill
