Thanks SpecimenX! I am surprised that the cache is still there! Actually, I am more surprised that the clues are still there considering the development that has been going on.
After some thought, would the next person please take a photo of the cache and post it or email it to me before I submit a request to have it unachived.
It's a sign. I shall plan to be back soon!

I'm claiming a find on this one even though it is archived. Geo sister (Specimen X) and I were in the area searching for another cache which we thought was this one. Geo sister reached the cache and discovered that the name on the cache logbook was different to that of the cache we actually were searching for! Then we realized that this one may have been archived.

Pleased to report the cache is still in position, and in fact, the log book even being nearly 13 years old is in pristine condition! We couldn't believe our luck in finding this cache.

Up from Canberra visiting the family, so that meant it was time for the geobro, Goldfinger777 and I to get out and about on an afternoon geomission Big Grin

I'm claiming a find on this one even though it is archived. We were in the area searching for another cache which we thought was this one. After contorting myself into position to reach the cache, I then discovered that the name on the cache logbook was different to that of the cache we actually were searching for! [?] Then we realized that this one may have been archived. I notice in the log book others have found this one since archiving as well-even as recently as 19 December 2013!

Pleased to report the cache is still in position, and in fact, the log book even being nearly 13 years old is in pristine condition! Great to discover this old cache!

Thanks for the unexpected find here, KOSTurtles Smile

I've been watching this one for a while... I kept expecting someone to pick up the promised gift, but no-one came... I could resist no longer and went in search of the booty...
Narrowed down the options quite quickly and found a package of goodies at the given coordinates... No cache (long gone) and no log-book to sign, but I hope the attached photos will be proof enough of the Find...
Thanks Turtles, very generous... I will put them to good use...
Good luck to you and the cache in your new home...

A pity we parked on the wrong side of the university, we had to walk right around it to get to the first waypoint.

After that it was a simple matter of finding WP2... er WP2? Where are you WP2? Methinks that WP2 has been altered somehow, There is contruction work going on around it, Anyway we guessed at the coords and made our way to the stash.

Dodging the cats, we finally found the little fellow safe and sound with it's suitcase packed ready for the journey ahead.

KO and ST turtles started Geocaching in July 2001 and this was the only cache we managed to plant. We have since planned every holiday in this beautiful land Down Under around Geocaching. Sadly, the time has come for us to bid farewell.
This cache has proved to be a challenge for many and we are happy that it has brought much joy (and anguish!) to those who had sought it. It has survived very well for a year and a half.
I am very sad to announce that this cache will be archived from the 17th of December. This gives those who are still watching one last chance at it. The contents will be removed and relocated to either the Turtle's homeland of Singapore or Alabama, USA where KO turtle is headed.
As a token of appreciation to those of you who laid caches that provided us with so much enjoyment, a final item will replace the cache on the 17th for the final seeker. It will be an item of special value. The cache will be officially archived after I receive a log confirming the find.

This was a great cache! We're visiting from Canada and were looking for an urban cache to house a travel bug. We also placed A Canada GeoCoin in this cache!

It was a great day to do this one, and we enjoyed poking around the area. Glad we did this one on the weekend - would've been awkward during the week!

Thanks so much! Pics on route, and enjoy the wine loving travel bug we've placed from Ontario, Canada. He loves travelling, and his owners love to get pictures of him enjoying local wines.

Cheers,

4Newfs

Ahoy K.O.&S.T.!!

Must say this be interesting, but have to concur with Blocko that 2nd waypoint clue may have been removed/looted or destroyed. So 1st mate & cabin girl guessed where it was & trudged a ways to claim it.

Having worked my way through cuttings, I replaced the cache where it be but did not leave it as exposed.

Took an elephant magnet and left Blackbeard's calling card, M&M's and waterless Neville....

Thanks

Couldn't find the clue on / near the 2nd waypoint but took educated guess and eventually found it (after 3 goes). Many people around - eventually had to bite bullet and look silly.
Nothing exchanged.

I failed to find this one on my first attempt to find a cache. And now 50-odd caches later, I thought I'd try again, since it is the cache closest to home.
Found it without too much trouble except I needed someone to stand lookout so I could come out of the cache spot undetected. This was no mean feat as it was 9pm and all the lectures had just finished.
The most urban cache I've done so far. Nicely hidden.
Swapped a golf ball for a golf ball. On checking the logs I find the golf ball belongs to my good friend Scubadoo....

Got the co-ords a couple of weeks ago for the final position but haven't been able to get back under the cover of darkness until tonight.
Scubamegs assited by manning the torch.
Left a golf ball took SES patch.

Found this one with minimal effort. However it would be best described as a multi cache.
The second waypoint I think has had some maintenance cause I hunted for ages and ages with no luck. It was only a guess that lead me to the final location.... Took a pen & balloon and left some SES stuff.

Second cache attempt and second unsuccessful. I thought my GPS wasn't working properly.
I couldn't even find the first point, so I took an aducated guess at the answer and tried for the second point.
I was standing near the tail of the plane and it told me I was 30 metres away. The buildings were playing havoc with the signal and with all the people around we were starting to look a bit suspicious.

Things went pretty smoothly until the last waypoint. Our signal was pretty weak, and half the time ended up pointing us towards side streets.. wandered out onto Barker street once before the signal cleared and gave us a much better idea! Took a plastic fly, left a US dollar coin.

Was having fun in the uni grounds and thought we'd have this one licked in no time, until we got to the final cache location a long peak hour drive away. Plotting on the street directory put the cache in the water.
Searched 4 different ways in and could not get anywhere near there without tresspassing.
Did we get the waypoints wrong perhaps, or just not find the right way into the cache area?

15-Jan-02
Even though it was Holidays for the uni, there were still plenty of people around to keep an eye on us. As inconspicuosly as we could, we located the stash to find some Kaos Cash and other goodies. We took the Cash and a Stress Ball, leaving behind a Magnet. Having never been to uni it felt like being back at school Sad

Our first cache found, and unbelievebly close to where we live!!! Just 5 mins walk and it's a place we go nearly everyday, easy job!! Good one, Kel and S.T., keep up the great job you guys are doing here!!! We took a really cute heart shaped pendant and since it's getting close to Christmas, we took a Santa as well.... Thanks guys, we really enjoyed our first ever geocaching. We left a magic ball which we found difficult fitting it in the box!^^

CLUE: try to get there after dark and watch out for cyclists around the site!!! Have fun!!!

Went looking for the cache and made a wrong turn. When we made the right turn we found more than we bargained for - some geo-cachers!! Took a fossil and left some after shave.

Flagrante delicto!!! Whilst performing transaction on cache, we were sprung by fellow GC'ers.
This cache was placed only metres away from the place where half of Guru&Shaz spent 5 years in servitude.
Good spot, surprised it hasn't been removed. Took a pen and left a heart.

Returned to this one after our famous false start (see below). Found it quite easily really, once we had the right co-ords. Swapped in some Lava and Chaos Cash and swapped out a mini Jigsaw Puzzle. Good one guys!

Found this cache once again in the company of SNIFTER. Her log will have the details of how we finally found it.

01-Oct-01
Under the cover of darkness and a holiday weekend as well we made our way to the great grounds of learning. Gee people are everywhere even at this time of night(10PM) but had no trouble locating the cache. Took a Mexican geothingy and a lionhorse pin.

This was a very pleasant surprise going somewhere Tangles never thought he would go - thanks for the education. Glad we missed out on the monkey business, thanks kotan. Swapped a toy truck for a Christmas decoration and picked up a hitchhiker along the way. We found the co-ordinates accurate and it was an interesting walk, what more could you want.

Checked out the cache when Team Chaos suspected it to be missing. Good news (maybe not for Team Chaos, sorry!), the cache is still there. I found it slightly more hidden than I left it. I repositioned it so it is slightly more observable to Geocachers only. Team Chaos, if you would let me know where you searched, I might be able to point you in the right direction. You might have been very very close. The same happened for me on the Monkey Trail.

Ignored the 10 heads in each window and systematically searched the area. The exact location was a cat. Hard to log. No Blue Ribbon I'm afraid. Unless it is totally buried (probably by the cat), the cache is missing.

17-Jul-01
It might be a good place for the young ones but not this old pup.I know where it is but when alarms go off and there are about 60 windows with about 10 heads in each one...forget it at least not at the time I went. It will have to wait for a more congenial time eg 2 in the morning or around xmas.

17-Jul-01
Sorry to hear that Snifter came back empty. I was expecting fellow Geocachers to come on weekends or after hours (5pm) when the windows are dark. Anyway, it is quite reasonable to ignore those heads in there. They are quite oblivious to the scenery. Just open the cache else where and put it back discretely as with other urban caches. Hope it won't be too discouraging.

22:00 well, we found it, not many curious faces at this time of night! If any one wants to know anything about food technolgies , ask us , we spent a good half hour with the wrong co-ordinates. We now know the distance diffrence between AGD-66, and WGS-84 He he! a small hair pin marked ground zero for the second clue, we had trouble determining what was written on it even with the magnifiying glass from The Numbers Mystery Tour cache from Sundays find. We then decided , this was not the OBJECT we were meant to find. finally right on 10.00 pm we were lifting the cache from its hiding place. What a great way to spend an evening. so much fun we almost forgot to take any photos.. ( coming soon)
