It took us some time to find the right spot but Maroho managed to see the container. Thanks!
Avenging a DNFI popped in here for the looking at Canberra AL and grabbed this one on the way back to the car. It eluded us last time but I think we were looking too low or it was missing at the time. TFTCHot day!!

lol. Cache out on the ground in the open and initially ignored by me! Rehidden as per hint but not sure its exactly where it was. TFTC.
With plenty of time between events today, EthisEthat and I set out on a big day filled with caching, various errands, and - crucially - lunch! Finally getting around to ticking off the fountain virtual, we found ourselves parked near here and I figured it'd be worthwhile grabbing this trad while in the area.A few people were out and about today, and the numerous possibilities in the area almost dissuaded us from continuing the search, but I eventually poked around in just the right area to come up with this bespoke little container. Thanks to Fore! for placing this one here!
Great idea for a cache! And this ivy is such a natural barrier, I reckon its under utilised in our great game so well played!Had no foreign currency on my but shall bring some back from Spain I reckon just to fill it up a bit more. Thanks!
Sorry, but we had no foreign currency with us, and rarely do even after going overseas. Sadly cash is diminishing in significance. Found by Mrs SKI after searching for a few minutes. There was a bit of a break in the cold spell today and the sun was out much earlier and things warmed up, even though the temperature only got to 13 degrees. We had been keen to ride our bikes round Lake Burley Griffin so today was the day. We only made it to the Farmer's Market on our first attempt then had to return to the van with our purchases! With that done it was back out to firstly catch the tram into town and then the ride round the lake. On our way round we picked up a variety of caches, trads, multis, puzzles and quite a number of Virtuals. Some were straightforward while others challenging.Lunch at the National Portrait Gallery was welcome. We made it home just as the sun was settingThank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Fore!.**SKI Pair****
Enjoying a bit of a trip around some of the many caches dotting this beautiful lake. Thanks for maintaining this one!!
Somehow hardish for me anyway, I noticed theres barely and coins in there. Ill bring along some of my familys next time.
Lovely afternoon for a walk by the lake, great spot for a quiet cache. TNLN. TFTC.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Back in Canberra for ANZAC day. With a late morning start we were on the bikes through EPIC to the light rail then the plan was to ride between the bridges of Lake Burley Griffin but alas too many caches and too little time so another day at least to finish that task. Bit of a breeze today so whilst sunny it was still a little cool. some lengthy search didnt help with our time management. We saw at least 2 school groups cycling around the lake, lucky for us they were going the other way, whilst we were stopped having lunch. TFTC Fore!
Sir_spectre and I had hoped to join in the fun of the Mega in Canberra but unfortunately life got in the way so we planned a trip for a few weeks later. We might have missed all the great events and catching up with geocaching friends from far and wide but at least we got to find lots of great caches still.Any cache that needed some love got it, if possible. Thanks
Quick find.Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.
Quick park and grab after work for this one, looks like the cache has been hit by a hedger ??
2/4/2024 Find #6975The final day in Canberra for KBreeAHH, Captain Terror and me, and we were going to pack it with caching before handing the hire car back and relaxing in the lounge at the airport. Having been up as far as Murrumbateman and then Yass this morning, we were now back down in Canberra for our final caches. We had decided to do a walking circuit around here to complete our mission. We were almost back at the car now but had just a couple of caches left to grab. This was the last one, and as we approached we saw someone right at the cache. We wandered up just as they were leaving, walking past saying well we now know where we need to be for sure. Thanks for the cache Fore!.
Found during the Mega event. Fore!, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area.
Over here for Capital GeoBash Mega. The first of many daytime hidden caches all over the city - after the Mega event (closing ceremony). A fantastic Easter Monday. TFTC
Lots of foliage here, a rabbit and lots of spiders! *The generic bit*In Canberra for the GeoBash Mega. Enjoying the sights and the variety of caches to be found. Thanks to all organisers, volunteers, sponsors and COs.
Massive caching days continue. My online logs do not match with days found simply because I cant keep up with online logging sorry. My alliance of 5 all from WA are three young fit boys and two less young ladies who try to keep them honest. We have been up trees and ladders way more than I like and, like all geocachers who insist on wearing shorts in hot weather, our legs are ripped to shreds from hiking. Logging WAC since the three boys usually cache with a fourth called the Cockburn Crew based on their LGA. Having an almost totally cleared map locally, its difficult to explain the excitement of having a map that has caches literally everywhere. Ive cached in Canberra once with my partner and also at the Queanbayen mega but theres still so many to find. Long days and during the few hours allocated to sleep Im so sore I barely sleep anyway. Thanks so much for your contribution to making the days so exhausting and enjoyable. Much appreciated!
As part of the tour group, we walked a ton of miles and signed all the caches as LT2.This was a quick find, just the way we like 'em. And it was a good thing, too, because we were nearing the end of our tour and I was getting tired. LOLThank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:Today was day 3 of my time in Canberra for the GeoBash Mega from the U.S. and getting to spend time with my friends. Hooray! It was another day that started with an awesome tour around Lake Burley Griffin. The weather was warm and the cachers were friendly. We were led by tankengine, one of the cachers who had a hand in the gadget caches at the mega, has awesome mysteries and other caches in the area. He kept us moving the entire time and we were able to get all the caches on our list. Then I attended the mega which was a lot of fun. There were so many people! The gadget caches were amazing, the adventure labs were fun, and the evening get together for trivia was a blast. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.
Day 17 of our roadtrip in Australia. Today we're mostly exploring Canberra, dropping by at the mega later in the afternoon. Had quite a lot of fun there yesterday already ??. The city looks quite interesting the way it is built, looking forward to explore the parliament and all the other institutions within the triangle. Too many spiderwebs around, we left that one out. Thanks and kind regards from Switzerland, Hinni&Simo
Found while attending the Mega and out with the tour group at Lake Burley Griffin. A great day out. Log signed for the group as LT2Another great day for caching. ?? TFTC Fore!

Day 5 of our Capital Geobash mega-holiday, and first up for us this morning was to join the tour of Lake Burley Griffin, led by our wonderful guide Tankengine. This tour was heaps of fun, and all caches signed as LT2. Last cache of the tour and we are all now ready for some lunch. TFTC Fore!
scramping & I were in Canberra attending the Capital Geobash Mega event. We were lucky enough to participate in some of the organised tours. The Lake Burley Griffin Walking Tour was one of them. We saw some awesome sights and collect some caches along the way.TFTC Fore!
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers Fore!! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!

Cockburn Crew on tour to the Canberra Mega. Day 1 involved a bunch of caching around Sydney before making our way to Canberra for the Capital Geobash. We found a huge variety of caches, and its great to cache in new territory that we havent explored much in the past. Unlike our home state of Western Australia where we have found just about anything and everything.A beautiful day with great weather and even better company. Thank you to the local COs for a great day in and around this great country of ours.
The third day in Canberra and surrounds for the OzMega Geobash across the Easter weekend.Made my way to the event location for the first time today and enjoyed some of the festivities there throughout the morning. The afternoon was filled caching all over the place with a high priority placed on older caches to help fill Jasmer grids.Another day filled with an amazing variety of cache types and containers were located and with a large group the competition to get hands on the log first was high, with plenty of laughs along the way too. Thanks Fore! for placing Fore!ign Currency for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 20:54 on 29/3/2024.This is find number 8543 for me.

Hall was on the cards but we decided to leave that for another day and go into the lake, picking up what we could and adding a few Ad Labs.Total Caches Found 15672TFTC Fore!

One of this morning's pre Mega sorties Found as and where described. Looks like little rodents like to sharpen their teeth on this cache. TFTC.
Nice easy one nice n close to our parking spot which we used extensively to explore Canberra
Grabbed a nearby stick to help me through the greenery for a quick find before setting off on a walk. Cache is still broken and log still wet but still in good enough order to sign. Might come back with some currency some day. TFTC

After minutes on end of looking on the ground, we spotted it with a sigh of relief. It’s nice to see other currencies than Australian Dollar. TFTC!!
TFTC. Had a quick look then some muggles came back to their cars, but lingered for a chat. Was forced to go for a wander, found a couple more caches, then had another look on the way back and this time I was successful.
Found whilst waiting for the light show on the lake. Just on dark so was rather impressed with geo hubbys quick eyes. Took nothing, left nothing.
This is my third trip to Canberra this year, and day two of the trip. I have met up with oz_bean_counter, and today Pprime has driven to pick us up and cruise around Canberra grabbing geocaches I couldn't ordinarily walk to on work trips and such. A nice warm-up before heading to the Snowies tomorrow!
Just yesterday by myself, I had walked nearby this geocache and decided to not make the detour in the heat, carrying a heavy bag. Turned out ok, as it happened today. On our way back to the car, it was noted this icon was a short extra few steps. The name had us giggle slightly thanks to stories from back in Brisbane.
On the approach, the hint was noted and being a funny bunch of fools, I think every post in the postcode was pointed out and asked "is it that one!?". Eventually, we came to the right one, after racing each other around/through nearby trees.
At GZ the search commenced. It took a few moments, and after a minute or so, I found the geocache right above someone's head.
It must be a tasty container as it's been nibbled. And nibbled to the point that it has big holes. And inside was now the home to a few cockroaches. I popped the lid, evicted the residents and handed the logbook to be signed at 11:50. I took the time to note the three little coins inside. No swaps today though.
Quickly put back together and replaced as found. I'd suggest this one might need a new container soon if it's to remain dry. All fine today though. Thanks for this bonus smiley today, Fore!

The first of many caches for my birthday holiday in Canberra. This one is one the list because… for some reason it’s cool. It’s old, its a jasmer, it’s got heaps of favourite points, it’s got a view, but or it’s near something that does. Either way, I guarantee I had a great time grabbing it. Thanks for making my birthday awesome!

Geocaching in Canberra, day two. We visited a little market, went back to Braddon for the street art, then took a bus to Capital Hill and found out that it was possible to visit Parliament House - very interesting. A stroll through Commonwealth Park completed our day. Quite a few kilometres and some nice caches, mostly traditionals.
