I love driving back to the ACT from the South Coast this way to avoid the Summer holiday madness of the Clyde or Brown mountain roads. Some nasty looking ants around cache, but excellent location. TNLN. SL. Thank you.
Found with Just a Cacher after doing the nearby Major Church. What a lovely lookout. I wish we had more time to explore this area. We must come back when we have more time.. Thanks for bringing us here
If the next person passing would like to grab this cache for me that would be good.
The road DID remind me a bit of a goat track, but the view was wonderful! I also saw some unusual flowers, and a bird or two that I couldn't identify. Very interesting spot. I would have clambered down the slope a bit for a closer look at everything, except that it was that time of day, and I couldn't face scrambling back up in the dark.
First find of the day on our caching odyssey with Team Casho, and a great one to get started with. Can certainly imagine those with ill intent sitting up here waiting to relieve errant travellers of their hard earned riches - they would have had them trapped between a rock and a long way down. Excellent views down the valley, and a great little track too. Thanks for the cache Big Matt and Shell.

Wow this one was funny. We drove out here for a look and see last weekend and I thought what a great place to put a cache. Happened to have one in the car so hid it under the platform, took coords and went to write it up at home (in Canberra). Only to find that you have a cache here, we just didn't know and couldn't find it as my Geocache Navigator application only works when you have network coverage and unfortunately I'm with the wrong network for this area as Vodafone doesn't kick in until you are nearer Braidwood.
Well, just had to come back this weekend to collect our cache and to find yours. Found it using hint, although retrieval was more interesting as I was up to my armpit and still couldn't quite get it. Luckily for me Jim has longer arms and managed to get it out. We filled the host feature with rocks to build it up a bit before replacing cache so it should be fine from now on. Future cachers will recognise the telltale message of rocks, but not until they are looking directly where the cache is hidden! T: travel bug tag, L: Invincibles wristband.
TFTC and the laugh! And maybe you can be the FTF on our replacement cache which we have placed not a million miles away

Great place for a cache. Thanks for the great place to stop and take in the views.
Perhaps I should have expanded a little on my comments - where do I start we live in the area, we have the same name but I am not a descendant – people always ask us that - lol
We have only recently started Geocaching, funnily enough I tried about 18 months ago and could not for the life of me find “Historic Braidwood†so I gave up. Fortunately we have had much better success this time and recently drove through here thinking this would be a great spot to put our first cache – as it turns out you have beaten us to it.
Never mind we are still learning and have plans to create some new caches in the area in the not to distant future.
First for the day. A nice drive on a very hot day.

Gee, I thought "The Clarke Gang" would have had more to say about this one than they did?
2nd find after leaving the pub a little way back down the valley. Headed up this way to continue our loop back to CBR and QBN.
Cache was quickly spotted, but not retrieved so quickly, however, with a little persistance the little devil was soon in hand.
Added a pathtag to the one already there, took a few photo's and headed off.
Thanks BM&S, a cool little stop over.
Cheers,

Wow - that was a quick climb up from the valley floor to this lookout! Great views. Had a bit of a wrestle but soon had the cache in hand.
TNLN - TFTC !!

On our way back to the campsite at Araluen via Major's Creek we picked up this liitle cache, had some muggles to contend with at GZ, but they were none the wiser, Beaut views from here, this morning we could'nt see a thing from the lookout for fog, so it made a welcome stop on our return, TFTC

WOW, what a climb up here towing the camper, 1st gear most of the way making the poor Pajero very hot by the time we got to the top. Easy to find the cache, really nice views from here. Back in the car and continuing on our way to Captains Flat for the night.
Cheers

We decided to have a day down at the coast today! Of course, a day down the coast isn’t a day down the coast without a couple of caches thrown in! This was our first find, after a DNF nearby... Very nice spot! The views were spectacular! And I could almost see our next cache down in the Valley! I was going to continue down the goat track, but alas, my wife isn’t a fan of wonky roads – so we went around! Thanks Big Matt & Shell!
It feels good to find first (second in total) cashe in the country and so close to home. I know the area and always appreciate to come back.
You are right, it is a goat track but that does not in anyway detract from this cache. Well done guys keep these comming.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
Last time I was on this road I was a silly 16 year old with brand new L plates who foolishly said to her father 'I'm a bit nervous about driving on steep hills dad what if I blow the motor in the toyota up like cousin Eden does on Aunty Kay 4 wheel drive.' We were down working in Moruya that week so Dad said lets go for a drive up home to Captains Flat and pick up one of the trailers and you can drive. I'd had a license for 2 weeks and my first long drive was up Bushrangers to Araluen then this track to Majors Creek then on the the 'Flat. Needless to say I got over my fear of hills and I'll ever forget the noise a goanna makes as it jumps on the roof of a car.

Haven't been on this road for a long time but I've always heard this road refered to as the bushrangers track or trail. TFTC
A nice sunny day for caching, great view down the valley. Have driven the goat track before, there are easier ways down...Thanks.
Goat track indeed, very nice. Too foggy to view much, but took a pic anyway. TFTC.
Easy find on the way home. Beautiful view.

Found 11:16am.
Late post. Misplaced PDA.
Took the long way home from the coast. This was a quick find along the track. No goats, but a rather large Lace Monitor was sighted. Great spot and view to match.
Took: In the view.
Left: A pair if TB's in a ziplock bag, under the cache.

554-18/29. When I first moved to Canberra, oh so many years ago, I thought I might take a quick trip down the coast.
This is the track that I went on. I somehow managed to drive through Captains Flat and then managed to get over here and then went down this road.
That deterred me for quite a while on going for quick weekenders down to the bay.
Great to bring back all those memories. Ouch. View still looks as wonderful as ever.
Thanks for the cache. TNLN.

If this is a goat track, what is the track to 'Repeat your last' ? Great view up the valley. Thanks.

#638 Great road. Enjoyable drive up the range. Was surprised by the size of the cache but the glint gave it away.
tricky we did not have cache notes with us and A.D. just happened to lean on said object and looked!
Thanks Acko, A.D. and Jeep dog

Great easy find , lovely spot we have been past here a couple of times but never stopped, it was good to find this cache up here being nice and cool the geo kiddies enjoyed it learning about the clark brothers.
Second FTF for the night!
I had a shocker on this one, after a bad day at work I thought I'd unwind with a couple of quick cache finds but as it turned out I should have been content with just the one!
With the sun long gone over the horizon, the rain getting heavier and a thick blanket of fog settling over the area, I arrived at GZ and reached for my torch only to remember that it had given up the ghost while caching in Canberra last weekend! So relying on the GPS and the light of my mobile phone I found my way onto the lookout platform but the Garmin insisted the cache was a further 7 metres out into oblivion!
Time to check out the Additional Hint I thought... except there wasn't one? A further ten minute search in the pouring rain failed to turn up the cache and I was forced to give up? I had to drive back into Majors Creek to get phone service and request a little help from Big_Matt and with a clue now in hand it was back down the road yet again!
More success this time but my luck had well and truly run out by now, firstly losing my balance trying to grab the cache and reaching for the nearest thing in the dark which happened to be a blackberry bush tore strips out of my left hand, then driving back up the hill again a big stick got jammed in the handbrake cable bringing the car to an abrupt halt and forcing me to lay down in the mud to remove it, burning my right arm on the exhaust and skinning my knuckles in the process, then having to drive the next 50 odd kilometres in near zero visibility!
This is one find I would probably rather forget! But thanks anyway Matt & Shell!
