No luck finding the cache, although we searched under a number of rocks we only found a plastic bag and a shoelace like string.
Unfortunately is the box and the logbook away
I only found a plastic bag and something like a rope (?)
Otherwise a quick find

No luck here. Did a PAF also, but still no luck...
I'm pretty sure the cache has gone, as I found a zip-lock bag, and what looked like swag.
PAF confirmed I was pretty much in the right spot, and I did see a spot that looked about right, but I'm pretty sure what I found was cache remains...
Stink as I really wanted this to be a find, as I wanted to get my calendar for today to be 11 finds total, and I didnt have time for more after wasting over half an hour searching here! Lol!
(I now noticed the person after me has logged this as a find?!!!! After finding just the ziplock bag?! )

With Christchurch shrouded in fog I took a punt and headed up the hill to see if I could get above the clouds. Half-way up Dyers Pass Rd I was enjoying beautiful blue skies and a fantastic view across the plains. Set off to do the round trip from Sign of the Kiwi and wondered how I'd missed this one before. Maybe it was the promise of a scramble at the end but not having a baby in a pack today meant I was much more confident. Great view of Lyttelton Harbour from GZ, well, great view of the cloud filling the harbour anyway. Quick find and sign and off again on a lovely track that I think I'll be back to do again. Thanks for the Cache.
Brought the teens out for a walk to relieve the school holiday boredom. We scrambled down to GZ and daughter made short work of finding the cache. Great views from here. TFTC.
Another easy find, another great view, another photo of travel bug Newlyweds. TFTC
Totally awesome viewpoint, could see todays storm approaching fast, was out of there and thirty minutes later the heavens opened with hail and lightening and thunder,
Found with quinella and geodog on a crater rim walk. Busy up here today but not right here- good views. Tftc
A bit of rain added to the challange of getting to this cache. After dropping daughter off to work I headed up the hills to get a couple of Geocaches this being one if them. Still a good view though .signed the log TFTC ridders76, from TeamMcI, 26 April 2015 07:48, cache number #839! Found this cache today while scouting the area for potential sites to setup a cache. The log book is full, with the last few entries written inside the cover. TFTC.

The mission for the morning was a short walk up along the Mitchell track from the still closed Sign of the Kiwi. I was surprised to see that this was a seven year old cache that I had not found earlier. It felt good to tick it off. Continued on as far as the Huntsbury track before turning back.

Have been here before BC (before Caching). Fog had cleared now so could actually see the harbour etc. Nice views today. Managed to find a small area on log to scrawl something. TFTC.
Mallorcatommy and I were on our journey through the southern island of New Zealand. With the help of geocaches we came to so many beautiful places, saw breath-taking landscapes and had, all in all a very wonderful journey! Thank you to all owners for placing all those nice geocaches!
We are on the road again!
Today we found some very nice geocaches and enjoyed it to walk along every single trail.
Thanks to to all the owner for hiding the caches!

You know summer is coming because the daylight hours are getting longer every day. Decided to head to the hills today for a bit of a walk after work. Luckily I had some walking shoes in my car. Managed to make my way to the GZ without any issues, and a 10 minute search revealed the cache. Lots of potential search areas here. Was a lovely sunny afternoon, so just sat a while and listened to the birds, before heading back to my car. Took trackable. Thanks for the cache. It was nice to be able to sit a while.
What a wonderful place for a cache. We took on the challenge of a wet track with the kids and loved it..
I made this one more difficult than it should have been. My GPS took me to gz but I missed finding the cache, then searched around the area before returning to the first place that I looked in. I found the cache on my second look. TFTC.
Cache number two of five for the afternoon, with Peregrina. Nice spot! Thanks for the cache.
The path is closed due to rockfall, but we chanced it since it has been active all this time. Quick and easy find and what a great view from GZ. Logbook has enough room for about 3-4 more entries. TFTC
Out for a run on the hills and thought we would pick up a couple of caches on the tracks. TFTC. First went though this track on a run in 1964.
Good to nab this one after a failed mission last year. In good condition, as you would expect of a cache with Richie McCaw in it
Been meaning to get for a while, great opportunity today while out running, fab views tftc
Used to run this track reasonably often pre quakes. Pretty good view today. Left GC and took TB. Thanks
Stunning view although it was cloudy. Nice easy find, its pity I didnt have time to walk whole loop. TFTC.
So peaceful up here today, just me and the birds enjoying the view. Great to do a bit of rock hopping and made the effort to move quickly since this track is officially closed due to risk of rockfall. Found the cache as per the hint, great spot! Picked up a TB and dropped one off. TFTC
When I started off to find this one I said to myself "it'll be right there" sure enough it was. What a great star gazing spot. The birds were in full song. The cache was in hand and signed the log. Grabbed a TB and headed back to the Kiwi. TFTC and excuse to bound around the hills.

The track from the south is currently closed due to rock fall risk following the earthquakes so didn't attempt this one today.
Nice day, so thought I'd go for a run in a part of the Port Hills I haven't been running in for many months. Found this cache on the way. Was sitting there writing out the log and as I did so, two trampers perched themselves atop a nearby rock looking directly at me and proceeded to take out their lunch. I figured they were there for some time but I needed to get going, so in full view of them I tried to sneak the cache back into its hiding place hoping that the two trampers either a) didn't notice, b) didn't care, c) were geocahers themselves or d) just moved on.
Last time we were near this track, it was officially closed. Great to get out here and enjoy the tracks again. TFTC.
Enjoyable walk with Mporokosa after a day in the office. Nice spot to watch the Bay from. TFTC
Quick find in the late afternoons 'sunshine'. A most excellent view...and a 'fun' jog round the track?! Thanks for placing he cache.
Beautiful day but the sun is blocked by the hill being it is winter, was a bit cold. Tftc
Officially the track is closed due to danger of potential rockfalls, but on such a fine day, barring aftershocks, I deemed the risk miniscule. No problems walking in from the Sign of the Kiwi, and then back (followed by a climb to the top of sugarloaf). Superb weather today and great views. It would have been great to linger here a while. Took "Cache critters: Baa" GC and left "Across the sea" GC. Adding this to my favourites.
Thanks for a nice easy find. Trying out some new tramping gear with some friends. Great view today! TFTC -TB +TB
Found after a brief search, while enjoying the good weather and great views. Also left a sheep Geocoin as we had encountered a lot of sheep on the port hills.

This is another cache I didn't get the first time I walked the Crater Rimwalk. I had been so exhausted that first day that I didn't even try to find some of these. This time, though, I actually invested some time and energy and was rather quickly rewarded with a find. TFTC!
Was in the neighbourhood, so did the right thing and went and found it. Well, it wasn't technically me that found it, but I can't help it if others are better than me. Nice views, and a welcome breeze on a very hot day. TFTC.
Took ages to find this one. Discovered that yes Samson could move the rock but God already had!
Managed to find then escape just before a group of muggles showed up! TFTC!

Walked amongst the fog that was drifting in across the top of the hills. Found easily. TFTC Cool old container. Contents a bit damp.
(268) So many awesome walks up here.. Another great view, was thinking it had been muggles but after closer look.. Found!. Took Geocoin... TFTC, SL.
Find #3 for today on my Summit Road cache hunt. Fantastic view from here. Gonna come back here again. TFTC.
Easy find. Great view. Found by Amy, a Canadian visitor to Christchurch, on a tour of the hills to see the sights and to introduce her to Geocaching. TFTC!
Beautiful spot! Found it on a ramble with Rob Glassey, after a beautiful Sunday drive. My second cache ever: Rob's been introducing me to Geocaching. TFTC!
Investigated this cache when staying in Christchurch a year ago, but didn't have time to suss the access and didn't persevere. Came back today and quickly found the right track - a quick find of the cache and a fantastic view on a brilliant fine day. Signed log, TFTC!
Great stomp on the hills after picking the kids up from school. Sunny, cool blustery breeze and great views. Took squashy blue frog for DazzleBeast, left orange eraser. TFTC.
As it was a nice day at Baywatch,Womble T thought he might have seen a glimps of Pammy Anderson up there in her red swimsuit.Dreams are free!!! Still that didn't stop him finding the cache without to much dificulty.TN Left a Blue Frog TFTC.
After an afternoon finding caches in Lyttelton and the bays, this was a good spot to admire the harbour from a different view point. A bit scarey for a woosy person who is scared of heights, but the lure of a cache spurred me on.

#950 (8/8 on a trip to Lyttelton Harbour). Stopped at the Sign of the Kiwi to pick this one up on the way home. The path was muddy and slippery in places. We left the main track and about 50m from GZ is short rocky descent. Troodles didn't like the look of it so I carried on alone. Mucked around not finding the cache for so long that Troodles found a way down what shall henceforth be known as the Troodles Step (the Geographic Board might decide to gazette the name as the Throodles Step). Decoded hint which took me back to where I made GZ and after searching a spot I had already searched I found the cache. A great look-out. TFTC.
