I also was unable to find the painting but was able to work out the final coordinates. Thanks for bringing me to this interesting location! I also did the adventure lab. This cache is an O for spell October. TFTC
I spent over an hour here this afternoon while in Brisbane dogsitting for my sister, and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and tranquillity of the place. It was fun as well as to see George bringing home a fish to feed his remaining little one ... apparently, he couldn't get any fish during the recent wet weather and now there's only one chick left in the nest. It's great to be also able to watch Mum feed bub over the CCTV.I had a bit of trouble with the Yali Moyan question, but came up with an answer that worked when I put the new coords into the checker. A straightforward find ensued and my visit to Osprey House is now on record. Thanks for an enjoyable experience Just a Trifle ... and because I was entertained for so long here, a fave point comes your way.
We are in QLD for a quick visit mainly concentrating on Adventure Labs Earth caches and Virtuals as we don't have to worry about muggles with these types of caches. But we will look for anything else close by.We were in the area doing an Adventure lab and spotted this mystery so a quick check and we found it doable and the coordinates had us within striking distance of GZ, so we headed there .The only good thing about the drizzling rain was there were no muggles wandering around and we were free to search. It didn't take took long to locate with spot on coordinates and we have added our name to the log book and then returned the container to its hide. Many thanks Just a Trifle, a favourite point from us
I was here completing the Ad Lab some 18 months ago but did not find this cache as the area was quite busy and I was not inclined to get down and dirty on the day. Today I was prepared and quickly had my hand on the cache. The log was signed and the cache returned as found. TFTC
I had a few chosen caches to find in the Moreton Shire today, so drove up here with my friend sausage3. Osprey House was our first stop and our first time here. We arrived about 9.30am so wandered around doing the AL, only then realising that we had to revisit some of these places for this puzzle cache. We couldnt see the name of the painter mentioned but there was only one painting that fit the bill, by a different artist and the answer, along with the others, seemed to give a possible gz. After a short search, I spied the container. It was damp inside but the logbook in its plastic bag was dry. Signed and replaced as found. Unfortunately we couldnt go into the centre as the smoke alarm was screaming before we arrived and hadnt stopped by the time we left after 10am. Staff were there but they couldnt turn it off so werent letting anyone in. Next time. It is a lovely area so Im glad we visited. Tftc
Took a group of friends who had never visited Osprey House to help me with this puzzle cache. We had a great time finding the info and made a quick find at GZ. Lovely big container with some nice swag for the kids. A FP from me
This puzzle has been on my list for a while - I have just never had had the time to venture down this way. My current pre Christmas fitness kick has been slowed by a tweaked hamstring, so my usual long Sunday morning bushwalks are out. However, I have no problems kayaking. There is a nice selection of more recent cache in Bald Hills Creek that I haven't found, including the Osprey House Ad Lab bonus. Better yet, there was an early morning high tide. So, on the way to the boatramp, I stopped at Osprey House and collected the clues for this puzzle and the Adlab and its bonus cache. With the calculations completed, I headed to GZ, where the mozzies were fierce. A local told me later that Council were spraying the wetlands at Tinchi Timba last week, but clearly the spray never got to GZ. A nice quick find at GZ. Many thanks JATPete#7,521
We've been meaning to come to visit Osprey House for the last few years and today we finally had the time. We wandered about enjoying the area and collecting the information for both this and the adventure lab and then, once we had all the clues, did the quick calculation to find GZ. The tree cover seemed to interfere with the accuracy of our GPS but a quick review of photos from previous logs helped us narrow down the location of the hiding spot. Quickly signed and returned before any muggles wandered past. Thanks for find #5166TNLN
Tftc just a trifle, did a walk here and gathered the info while doing the lab, made the find here with no trouble .Love to get this older one Cache is in great condition. Now that we are in the area again we have a few caches that we missed last time to find
It’s an early morning start for me travelling through the north side of Brisbane with a mission.
I arrived in the area early this morning with a view to picking up a few caches I needed for a particular challenge but timed my run incorrectly. Non the less I made the most of my location and made my way to a parking spot to tee off for this cache.
It didn’t take all that long before I laid my hands on the prize and etched my name into the log. Returned the cache to its position of safety and returned to the car n search of my next challenge.
Always grateful to find caches that have been around for so long.
A big thanks from me.

My first mystery puzzle! Once I had the coordinates in hand it was an easy find. After a stop to to watch mummy Osprey feed her babies. Have dropped a trackable off to find it's way all the way to Ireland. Safe travels, Dusty the geopet.
A late afternoon stroll to collect this, plenty of twitchers here, but thankfully not near GZ. The tide was way out, but there was still an abundance of bird life. Glad to finally tick this one off the list and even happier that’s it’s an oldie as well.
Having a bit of a wander around the area. The boardwalk to the bird hide is undergoing repairs atm but a little guesstimation got me to the final.

Fab morning for a paddle with a fine bunch of folk. Some consummate pole experts, others still sporting their L plates. We all had a go and lots of laughter. Pleased to be witness to an osprey catching a bream. Congrats to ARF on loop 10 and nikid1 on loop 5. A thoroughly enjoyable time had by us all. Last one of the day. TFTC
Attended an Event at Tinchi Tamba Wetlands then headed of to find some caches in the general area with Hatzofff and RoddyC. I had been here before but I didn't find the cache so today it was a quick find, log signed and replaced as found. After we finished here we did the AL and saw a huge snake in the fork of a nearby tree just looking at us. We left him to his own devices. TFTC
After the Tinchi Tamba Wetlands for the Landlubbers Event, we set off to do some caching.
Had some fun doing this one.

Had to get a scan all the way up at North Lakes so why not see the sights and play tourist? Visited the Osprey Conservation Centre and of course had to check for a cache. Geostubs took a nap while I scouted for clues. The lady at the Osprey place said the midgies and mosquitoes were out in full force and as I am a favourite of the blood suckers I moved fast. With all the info in hand I found it quickly, signed it and got out of there.. Hopefully bite free. Tftc!!
On a rare day when I have no plans I decided to head out and avenge a few DNF's and not yet founds in the local area. This is a cache I had tried early in my caching adventures, so today I thought I would come back and locate it. After a beautiful walk through the centre, collecting the clues, and admiring the nature (including an Osprey that had taken residence in one of the trees), I headed off to GZ. At GZ I was slightly confused, knowing I had been here before, but this time it didn't take too long to use my geosenses and collect the cache from its hiding spot. Log signed and all replaced neatly. All in good order. TFTC and the location.
What a lovely morning at this venue with Traceylcm.
I’d tried to do this one a couple of years ago, when I was very green, without luck. Today we were in the area having a great morning and thought we should celebrate Traceylcm’s Premium leap with her very first Mystery Cache and it didn’t disappoint.
Answers sorted and we made the find in a likely spot.
Thanks for the field puzzle and cache, Just a Trifle

Tftc! My first ever mystery cache, loved it, found with assistance of the awesome Swearah
Pretty straightforward great spot to visit and some very knowledgeable volunteers at the osprey house tftc
TBU-half Bikesu was keen to do the paddle duties, so she did. And mozzies don't like her as much as they like me.
The cache was found and log signed with PRICKS after the Tupperware event.

Heading back from Brisbane today and decided to do what I've been meaning to do for many years and detoured to this cache. I gathered the info required and then headed to GZ for a quick find. Once the log was signed and all was returned as found.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for me and others to enjoy.

Visited here to complete the newly published adlab and noticed this lovely old puzzle. Could not possibly pass up finding it when we were right here, could we?! That would just be rude! Great spot and a nice little tour of the waypoints. We bumped into IolantheK and T-Tech at the bird hide and had a little chat before moving on to locate the final. I love this little message someone has graffiti’d while looking out at such a peaceful view ️
out for a drive with IolantheK collecting a AL and some info for near by puzzle caches.
Spotted an Osprey keeping cool down low near the waters edge, very cool.

After Peppa’s “For the love of Tupperware” event, a couple of us headed out for coffee and to hit a couple of land based caches an a AL at Doyle’s Rocks.
Found with ATLH after todays event.

Visited this morning with the primary aim of collecting AbLab coords for an event I’m attending in the weekend. Once I’d collected the coords, I realised that this wasn’t the related bonus but a cache of its own, so off I went again to get the information required. Prior research would have saved me a double-walk but it was no hardship. Tide was around 2.2m and in about an hour it will be approx 2.7m (King Tide) today. It would be interesting to see it at its height, but alas, I have to get to work. Thanks for helping me to enjoy this very interesting place. TFTC
I collected some of the numbers while doing the lovely AL in this amazing place. Went back to check one number and the checker gave the ok. The cache was found at GZ, log signed and replaced as found. Dropped a TB. Thanks goes to Just a Trifle for placing this one. Fav from me.
After completing the nearby AL we thought we would have a go at this one. Collected all the answers as required and put them into the checker and got the tick of approval. Then a short walk to GZ where the cache was soon found. Signed log and returned as found all good with the cache. Now off for coffee and a toastie just down the road. TFTC Just a Trifle
After several visits to this area, today we tackled this oldie without millions of Mozzies attacking us. Had an interesting chat with one of the volunteers in the Center.
After collecting the necessary numbers, we took off to find the container.
Maintenance was obviously done in the meantime, logbook in good condition.

Having lived in the area for a few years I finally made it down here. What a lovely place. Just a pity everything was closed for the Christmas break. I eventually found the cache after a bit of wandering around. As I was replacing it I realised I had an audience. A quick explanation and everyone was happy and I was on my way. I'll be back in the new year when it is open again. TFTC
We had no idea that osprey house existed, and it was wonderful to be able to visit and explore today.
Unfortunately, being a public holiday, the inside of the building was shut, but the whole area was very quiet and we had it almost to ourselves to explore.
A bit of number crunching, and we had a set of coordinates which put us into the water.
A quick check with a previous finder, showed that our counting skills were not quite perfect!
With the number adjusted, it was a leisurely walk to GZ.
Thanks Just a Trifle. Another FP here.

What a wonderful gift to North Brisbane. I would love to have spent more time there learning about this precious ecosystem. Fascinating. Would love to utilise the bird hide for birding.
Anyway, we were the only ones there, so no need to be secretive. Great clues. However my iPhone GPS was bouncing around like a yo-yo. Into the mangroves, then back to the car park and repeat. It was getting dark so the flashlight on the phone came in handy. Giving up on the GPS, I used logic - at least the iPhone was good for something. Eventually found it, signed it, returned it and dusted myself off satisfied with the adventure. TFTC.

Needed an inside activity to entertain the kids today due to the rain so headed to Osprey House for a look around. Kids had fun doing the craft activities and looking at the birds on the cameras. The rain stopped towards the end of our visit so we popped out to walk the boardwalk and collect the required information.
A quick find at gz once we worked out the cords. We added some swag, signed our name and the kids took the Pokemon card. Thanks to Just a Trifle for setting up then cache and to Nayfee for maintaining. A favourite point from us to add to the collection.

Nayfee kindly replaced the cache for me again his help is very much appreciated
I have been unable to attend to this cache and will be away for another week. I'll attend to it on my return.
11 March 2022 12:23 this cache has been handed in to osprey house after being washed up on the bank.
Went for a quick drive with Nayfee to find this cache he desperately wanted to show me. We went a little bit later so ended up covered with mosquito bites but it was a great and interesting cache to find. Coordinates were out a little but however took a step back and considered where it may have been hidden and it was soon found.

Today, I joined Davinells and Peppa for a late morning kayak on Pine River. We had plans to kayak Hays Inlet, but with strong winds, we quickly abandoned that idea to paddle from Dohles Rocks. I had previously paddled the inlet of Bald Hills Creek, but there were new tree fishing geocaches since my last visit.
Following our rough water paddle, I left the group to then find a few other geocaches in the area, and then driving north to find a few of the *Road to the cup* series geocaches around Griffin. With a few hours left of my day, I then proceeded west to Kallangur and Murrumba Downs, where I enjoyed a nice walk in John Oxley Reserve.
I hadn't been aware of the existence of Osprey House Environmental Centre, and so it was nice to take a walk around following our chaotic kayak paddle. The centre was closed, but I enjoyed walking along the boardwalks and checking out the river-based amphitheater and bird hide. After collecting the answers, I made my way to GZ, where it didn't take long to make the cache find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Just a Trifle for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was also nice to have found this oldie 01/2007 hidden cache, of which is one of Queensland's 1000 oldest yet active geocaches. A Favourite Point from me!

My eyes seemed to be painted on when it came to lights meaning 1 doubled back to both, even. I was also tripped up at the painting due to the name beside it, but it is the only painting. I thought that lad only did the plaque work. In any case I got there in the end. Nice little mystery cache Just a Trifle
The cache has been on my radar for a long time, as I take my geopup caching on most occasions I haven't been able to stop in here to complete this one.
Today, after a lunch time paddle, I decided today was the day and pulled in on my way past.
I wandered around, enjoying the surrounds and collecting the required information. I came up with some numbers and headed to my calculated spot. I wasn't confident as I can often be a little off with these types of things. I wandered around and after being challenged by swarms of mozzies retreated to the car to check my workings.
I read a previous log which indicated there was a checker ... awesome! Well not so much as the checker wasn't happy with my numbers either. A bit of a tweak here and there, before too long I had the green light. A slight adjustment and I walked back to where I had just been, but stopped and found the cache! Happy days!
Thanks Just a Trifle for a great adventure around this lovely spot. An FP from me.

Thanks to 64Piratelady this was found today. Tftc. Allowed me to visit the place I grew up, straight across the road. Where osprey house is, was our play area.
Checked on this today as I was in the area watching an approaching storm. Had no issue gathering the numbers and checked the cache also. All good here.
Can't find a Yuri noyan pic, there is one by Ron someone with 3 fish heads though, so used that. Way too many mozzies at GZ area though to hang around, so couldn't take the time to find.
Out with Team Tyrrell and GeoNayfee for a paddle this morning. On our way back to pick up the car we passed this one. Any easy solve and find, the mozzies were fierce here so it was a quick sign and go. Cache was full of water and log was hard to sign even tho it had been double bagged.

Came to the area purely for this cache, needed an ‘o’ animal. Was eaten alive by mosquitoes attempting this cache, so be better prepared than us! Log was damp. Tftc
What a great spot. Loved the bird watching the a quick detour for this cache. TFTC!!
We’d heard the ospreys were nesting again and sitting on eggs so we came for a look. Arrived here at the centre before opening time at 10am. However, we weren’t the first here... a busload of pre-schoolers were already here and eagerly waiting for the doors to open. The 2 ospreys were on the nest and being ‘bothered’ by 4 crows.
We made our way around the paths gathering our answers and pausing often to watch other birds. Lovely! Checker agreed with our answers so we made our way to GZ and made a quick find. All is good here.
The centre had just opened by now so we then visited and checked the ‘osprey cam’. No chicks yet.

I live just up the road from here (Griffin) and never decided to attempt this one because of the 2 DNFs, but I thought “What the hell” I got here, walked around to get the numbers which didn’t take too long to gather, punched in the coords and made my way over. Had a quick look around on the spot and soon had the cache in my hand. Container looking a little grubby on the inside, so I’ll give it a clean out and replace everything back inside as clean as possible.

Worked out the puzzle (- one coordinate - so created 10 different waypoints to account for all possibilities!) & headed off. Quite positive we were in the right spot, but after almost an hour of searching & a million mozzie bites later, Tigermanz & I are sadly admitting defeat on this one until a later date.
Worked out the puzzle, but an hour of searching with Geokirky & too many mozzies, decided to call it a day.
Wow! What a wonderful place to visit. The live feed of the Osprey feeding and care for their

Today we visited the house of George & Hope Osprey and their two 'soon to hatch' offspring. This is great place for the kids to explore and learn. The kind & wonderful staff of Osprey House provided a wealth of information as well as some fun activities for the kids to do as well. At the end of our time here we even managed to find the cache and retrieve a TB. Thanks for showing us this great place.
Found this one with Nashie66. Got a bit misled, and interpreted some clues a tad bit incorrectly, but got there in the end. Despite how it may look, those coordinates are in fact correct, it's just hidden VERY well. Almost 15 minutes searching a 2 meter radius to find this one. 9/10 would recommend!
Every weekday morning when our muggle teens leave for the bus we go on a walk before hitting work. This morning we skipped our regular walk and headed out to grab a couple of caches, with the day being so perfect we headed to the water for a walk.
Arriving here our first thought was this may be hard to do as the centre was open and muggles were about. No need to worry though we were able to get what we were after without them caring at all what we were doing, they were too interested in having their early morning coffee.
Once the cache was found we added our name and left a couple of TBs behind…

Well this cache has been a bit of a nemesis cache for me. I had come out here with one of the geokids and his friend, to do this one quite a long time ago now, and with coords sorted had headed to make our find.... or apparently not! It seemed it was not to be found here on this particular occasion. Soooo another journey another day, and I headed straight back to GZ (however minus Bushmans), for nothing to come of the visit other than a significant blood donation to the resident collectors.
Finally today comes along, and I decide I am going to clear out this area of caches as my caching partner can't come out to play today. And looking at my map I spied This Cache! Right attempt 3, let see how this goes.
Well I parked the car and walked back to that same spot like a woman on a mission. And boy was I. This time the second I looked in that spot, I found it! Victory at last!!
Thanks for the cache Just a Trifle.

Out with geowife Dora the Explorer. Went throgh puzzle. After some bendec knee found cache. Nice location
Not sure if we had the wrong numbers but we encounter some mozzies and had to leave before finding it
Unlucky this time

My first ever mystery cache! I was walking here with Redcheeta, who I have found a few geocaches with and who is a voulenteer at the Osprey House. He also helped me with some of the clues. Soon after I got the co-ordinates we went there and I grabbed the cache and signed the logbook. Great hide!
By the way, I would advise people to please NOT go into the mangroves, because it can damage the ecosystem.

This was my second visit to this cache. The first time my daughter and I visited just as the tourist information centre was closing and the lovely lady came out to see if we were OK and we politely assumed she was telling us to move on so we left. We should have just spent some time looking around rather than assuming we needed to go in.
A quick tour of the boardwalk and I had the information I needed but still did the ol-double check to be sure. I was following the phone which in the slight rain was more erratic than a bunny on smack and wanted me to climb down into the mangroves for a look. My shoes might have been slightly damp already from the rain but I didn't want to add mud to that equation.
Finally I deducted where a cache should hide but I didn't want to get down on my knees in the mud and so bent over as far as I could. Long gone are the days when I was a limbo dancer with the ability to carry 4 schooners at the same time. I couldn't see anything so went for one "stick your hand in" moment and felt plastic. I wiped some mud off the cache and signed the log just as the mosquitos found me and the rain started spitting chips. tftc

Today, I took my grandson for a picnic nearby. After lunch, we headed to Osprey House. The little one had fun counting all the required items whilst discovering everything along the boardwalk. Although the ospreys are not nesting here this year, the koalas have returned with several being sighted recently. We were lucky enough to see one in one of the trees beside the boardwalk. A look around the education centre. The little one did a few puzzles and some colouring in before we set off to find the cache. Once at GZ, the cache was quickly located and the log signed. First cache find for the little guy. TFTC
My gps sent me into the river for it... After going through all the clues again, it still sent me into the river. East coordinates turned out to be right. The clue about the plaques seems a bit off the mark (I'm still sure I got it right), that's what put it in the river. One of the volunteers helped me find it in the end. Tftc.
Yay! Finally found this one with the help of my trusty iPhone camera. Yes, it was there all along, and the contents were dry and in good nick. TFTC
Having solved this one a few months ago, I thought I knew where to find this one today. I had even contacted the CO the first time around, and he confirmed GZ was exactly where I had searched on the day, but the container sometimes drops out of sight. Alas, no joy! I'm pretty sure this one's gone.
We went to the Redcliffe Kite Festival this weekend & decided to visit the Osprey Environmental Centre on the way home. Lovely place to visit. We picked up this Cache at the same time. Marna, Con, Jenny & Ned
17/4/16 Out caching today with Marina25 and aiming to get at least 25 caches. I am working on a personal challenge to have 1000 caches by my second geo-anniversary which is the day after Anzac day. We started the day at about 9:30am and finished just after 2pm and specifically chose as many caches close together and easy to grab as we could.
When I saw a nice easy puzzle close to the area I was going to be in today I just had to do it, What a great puzzle. I didn't know this house existed and I really enjoyed wandering around the area collecting the information. The people in the info centre were lovely and very knowledgeable.
We collected the info, typed in the coords for GZ and thought they looked good. Headed to GZ and found a logical location. Marina25 looked first and spotted nothing. She moved a little further up, but I felt we had the right spot so I took a look and instead of just looking at that spot I also checked the other side. Bingo! the cache was found. A favourite point added for such a fun, informative and all rounder puzzle. Took TB. TFTC Just a Trifle

A nice board walk I didn't even know this place exsisted I will bring oversea freinds back here TFTC
4th time lucky! After searching this place multiple times (and restarted the clues more than once), over a couple of years (baby geocache born in that time) the 3 of us came down for one last search. TFTC!
Just loved solving this puzzle cache. Such a beautiful spot that I to ably wouldn't have come visit without this cache. The people at the information centre were really lovely as well
