Great to catch up with the crew, and to meet some new faces. Its the nature of the sport, we all 'know' eaqch other by virtue of online logs etc, but rarely meet up. I guess chance meetings during a find are the only expection. We should do more of these events!

Awesome event! Met lots of geocachers, got a bit of caching done, discovered (and took) a few TB's and Geocoins, and had a nice bite to eat. Thanks to Pinetree & Sunrise and GenCuster for organizing yet another fantastic event!

Cheers,
Blarghster.

Hope to organise another one sometime in the next 3 or 4 months.

What a great turnout of local cachers, those who travelled in from Palmie, some from further north and south and of course the international visitors - thanks for supporting all the things this event was about. Special thanks to the Outward Bounds for providing the extra bbq and yummy food and Gencuster and Retti for helping us unpack and pack up.

17-Feb-07
This was the first event organised under the Kiwicaching banner and I'd like to thank Pinetree & Sunrise for all their efforts in making it happen! I just turned up and ate the venison sausages...

Many thanks to Swirl Creations for sponsoring the prizes and putting on the BBQ. Thanks to the Porirua City Council for inviting us, and of course, Swirl Creations in accepting the invitation.

The long list of people to thank for making an event happen of course include those who turn up. It is always fun to meet new folk, build upon existing relationships and forge new ones. So take a bow everyone. [^]

With attendees from North of the Bombay's, UK, Canada, West Island, Palmerston North, South of the Ditch as well as the local cachers, this was a truly international event. Cool

Pepsi is weak, but was very annoyed that she couldn't be there. Don't worry, Paco told her all about it.

Great to put some faces to the Wellington cachers.
Thanks pintree and sunrise and gencuster for the effort put in organising it, and thanks for the great prizes, they will be worn with pride.

17-Feb-07
It was great to put a few faces to names - and a pity that we had to leave so early - before we'd even said hello to 1/2 the attendees. It was also quite strange to go to an event where we knew absolutely no-one - that hasn't happened since our first event cache 4 years ago. Thanks very much to the organisers.

Will be late - Pepsi, one of my geocache dogs, is at the vet here in Palmy with a mysterious disease. Have to check in with her between 9 and 11 - then will come to event.
Will have (travelling)Turtle's Spinning Top Geocoin with me. Don't wait for me with the barbie Big Grin. Ring you if things go wrong, General.

14-Feb-07
This is a very late night (01:15) but I am dropping off some more coins and TB's that I have and also some from Xmuggle that she collected for the event - Thanks Mate! Smile

This is turning into a huge number of Trackables at a small event, methinks. And for those put off by collectors dumping heaps of coins, most of the TB's & Coins are travellers. Smile

TB's:
Zippo
Idaho Brass
White Jeep 'Morse'
Jaffa the tiger (wants to go to the zoo)

Coins:
European Union Geocoin
Full of Beans (plaque from 1st ever cache)
Sumatran Elephant
Kemis Beyerncoin #3
Kiwicacher Geo Agent (I'm now a fully deputised Kiwicacher!)

See you all there...

nb: Emailed pariah re ride.

14-Feb-07
Have fun ! Wish I could be there.
But looking forward to seeing all the logs next week.
May the weather and the caching spirits be kind to you.

14-Feb-07
We will be in town, but have a busy day planned. Will try and make a short visit for lunch, no promises yet.

We will be bringing a bbq on the day along with a few chairs, rugs and a small umbrella (long range forecast good apparently). We will provide sausages, bread, marg and tomato sauce, some utensils, plastic cutlery, plates and cups. Please bring something to drink and anything else that you would like to contribute to the bbq. We will also have a few little surprises for all attendees!
Is anyone able to pick up Pariah on the day in Wellington as he is without transport? Please contact him via his profile if you can.

13-Feb-07
Will be there, looking forward to meeting the Welly crowd.

12-Feb-07

Due to a recent family bereavement, I can no longer attend this one. It's a pitty, as I've watched the Wellington caching develop over the last 3 years or so and was looking forward to meeting some of the characters.

10-Feb-07
We are two ancient cachers from the UK here on a visit. We hope to pop in for a sausage or two with some of the Zebedy crew.

I would love to attend this one (in fact I will be in Welly the day before it) but I am currently committed to the Cancer Society "Relay for Life" back in Greymouth on the day of the event.
I'll have a talk to my team mates and see what gives (eg can I do my share of the relay in Greymouth on Sunday).

Regards,
Moneydork.
