Couldn't find this one. Sad face. Removed a lot of tree debris from the tree branch forks in the process.
Didnt come here with a whole lot of confidence due to previous dnf and after a bit of a search had no luck as well
Headed here to look for this one and the EC. Gathered info and began searching. Given the previous log and the conditions here I didn’t think we would find this one. But we were lucky today. TFTC.
Either my counting or sense of direction is bad. Couldn't find anything at my first attempt, then widened the search options. Will return with reinforcements.
Found with Bektheraccoon for the Signal's Labrynth souvenirs. Thanks for bringing us here, great to visit Mawson's resting place
A nice and easy one at a great spot! Once jambochicken got her bearings for the *correct* south, we were able to quickly wander over and find the cache. Found on an evening out with jambochicken and Moxie, TFTC!
Couldnt spot his resting place so used logic to find the right place. Found a signed the logbook, then spotted it. I never realised this was here even after being past this church many times.

This pineapple made use of the bonus public holiday to find some more caches.
Thank you Queen Elizabeth for your years of service and the chance to find caches!
I found a grand total of 40 caches today, 38 unicorns and 2 on the way down to Flaggy. 2 DNFs as well. Plus a maintenance run.
So a successful day all up!
I figured out the location and the cache was quickly found.
Cache retrieved and signed.
Thanks Stealth_Ninja_Penguin for this cache.
This cache brings Goldy's total find count to 1711 on the 22nd of September 2022.

We parked nearby and wandered in to find this small rock and read the plaque while making some calculations for the multi while also trying to answer the earthcache questions. Answers sent and multi found. Thanks for the cache
Having a productive geocaching weekend in SA in the good company of Beardman75 and Georode.
This was a bit of history lesson form us.
Thank you for the hiding, this is what makes the game work!

Found today on my second visit, dont know how iI missed it last time. No swaps available but added a very frosty snowman to this very apt cache.
A hearty thanks to Wollaston for the maintenance May the lights of the Great Southern Aurora always shine favourably on you.
Very interesting history here. Initially made a mistake and looked in the wrong place to see something I hoped was not the cache or on the journey. Tried one more time and cache was found. Thanks
Dried the container, replaced the log within a film canister for added waterproofing. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird, Liz & Bruce. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Stealth_Ninja_Penguin

Thanks Stealth Ninja Penguin for this simple multi. Who doesn't like a cemetery cache! The cache was found and damp log signed.
Now staying in Brighton for a few days this morning we headed out to find a few nearby caches and collect a loaf of bread for lunch. Hmm sounds simple but alas after the 3rd cache we had a Tek-screw in the tyre so a detour to get the tyre repaired had us out for longer than expected. we did however manage to find all the caches on the list before returning back to camp.

Spent a nice bit of time today solo caching while waiting for my Sister-In-Law to have her hen's night. Beautiful weather.
Originally miscalculated this one, but found the nice sized container easily after that. Placed a dry log sheet in the container to keep it going. TFTC

Fun find - but log was mouldy and wet (bit stinky too!) pens were corroded - could do with some maintenance. TFTC SL
22,487. Found with minniek during our Post-Christmas escape to South Australia.
This trip to South Australia was on again off again due to the changing circumstances in the various states we had to travel through. Finally getting a green light from all 3 states we headed off early boxing day. Day 7 of our adventures took us firstly to an event, then a tree climb which has an amazing history, and now we were driving around cherry picking certain caches and counties. Info gathered, GZ calculated, and a quick find at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks Stealth Ninja Penguin and Nomad Penguin !!

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February.
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat.
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again.
Today however was Wednesday and it was time for the befuddled group of puzzlers to set out in search of recently solved mystery caches, some lab cache series and anything else we happened to be passing.
A quick visit, count and find. Who would of know that such a great man was buried here.
Log book is bit damp but still usable.
***Thanks Stealth_Ninja_Penguin for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Thank u.. worked at school next door 15 years, never stepped on this side of the fence
As the Aurora Australis sails into the sunset the RSV Nuyina will soon take its place. A sure step up from Mawson's early rides
Thanks penguins for this informative cache. Found easily, once the right sign was read. Haha, seniors moment!

I went to the school behind this cemetery, countless times did we have to jump the fence to get our balls back! It used to be so scary... the risk of getting caught, the danger of jumping the corrugated iron fence, and of course the cemetery its self..with all the well you know how it is when your a kid.. Its probably been 15 years since I have been in this cemetery. TFTC
RIP to all the sentient beings that are not here with us today.

I never knew the cemetery was here. Driven past a million times. Sad to see the cemetery so run down. After my GPS jumped around and sent me in circles I found the designated spot and then went on to discover the cache. Unfortunately no trackables inside but I left a small figurine for next cacher. This was my first cache with Hazel - I think she enjoyed the walk. TFTC. Nice to find a decent sized cache.
I went to Mawson High School which was very close to here.
We learned possibly more than others about Sir Douglas Mawson. He was an amazing man.
Unfortunately the school is no longer there.

An interesting piece of history, and a great experience to stand at the resting place of a great explorer. Found the cache easily and signed the log.
Managed to get out of the igloo and flutter past. Didn't find the cache so replaced it. As Always, please respect the area.

After having a 'eat all you can' meal close by I came with the Flagstaff Hills to find this one. Nice sized cache in an interesting area, just a shame about the dead possums around -----SL------TNLN-----TFTC
On this public holiday afternoon, I decided to chase a few multi-caches to continue targeting them this month for the Victorian challenge. Consequently, I rode my bike from the city towards Glenelg, and then on to Brighton before returning to home for dinner. Six geocaches found, which included two multis, and two previous DNFs converted.
This was my third time here, with two previous DNFs trying to search for this cache. The last time, jesswrigley and I spent 30 min looking around the right tree thinking it may have been hidden off one of the branches. However it since got confirmed that it was missing, and replaced by the CO earlier today. So this seemed like a worthwhile multi to grab and convert my DNF. It only took a minute to make the find this time, but unfortunately a poor possum must have died just next to the tree. I guess he is resting in peace in an appropriate place now.
The two TBs should be declared missing now that the old container is no more, and have likely gone the way of the old container and been muggled. Thanks Stealth Ninja Penguin and Nomad Penguin.

Second time lucky as we had a DNF here a few months ago. It turned out that we had the wrong tree, so the first time was on us. However since then, we worked out our error, and confirmed with another previous Finder. We looked here for a good 20 min in that tree, with no find! OK, so possibly that container has been stashed up in the tree well, but it seems unlikely that others have had such easy finds, and between two sets of eyes, we couldn't find. Possibly missing? Cheers.
Out for an evening walk after a 40 degree day. It's amazing how many significant figures in history are in "regular" cemeteries. Left 2 TB's. TFTC.
The Rats, steeba and Hoojar have teamed up for a York Peninsula adventure of massive proportion. With much planning and logistical coordinating, we had a great five days meandering the country roads collecting a plethora of caches. Our journey started with a handful letterbox caches before heading down the peninsula following the “Gone Fishn” series. We followed this up with an array of geo-art images that litter the lower peninsula. Returning to Adelaide we collected a gaggle of old and rare finds which included some interesting earthcaches and virtuals.
My apologises for the generic log, but thanks to all the cache owners and caching buddies who made the road-trip such a memorable and fun experience.

After a review of the geocaching map in South Australia it was determined a trip to the Yorke Peninsula would yield some significant numbers. So, The Rats, Hoojar and I teamed up once agan to tackle the many caches on the peninsula.
We started in the darkness after flying into Adelaide and the next day set some personal records (550+ caches in a day) and milestones before bunking down. The next day was another massive numbers haul which resulted in a bit over 1,000 caches in two days !
Then it was a little more sedate down to the bottom of the peninsula and then back up the easterly side, ticking off a few EarthCaches in the process .
After that, back to Adelaide for some night caching, virtuals and more EarthCaches!
The power trails on the peninsula were great- quiet roads, some great green wheat and yellow canola scenery, coupled with some great company and usual ribbing of each other [^]!
Thanks for your cache- sorry about the generic log. For the EarthCaches and virtuals look out for an email or two shortly.

This was a trip that had been some time in the making. A journey from Wollongong in New South Wales to the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, in search of large numbers. Five days were set aside, and The Rats, Steeba, and myself planned the details out. Lofty numbers were floated; we could find one thousand geocahces... Maybe more! The world was our oyster, all we had to do was make it happen.
We flew into Adelaide and quickly rented our car, then headed off for a series of thirty letterbox caches late that night. We then set up camp, ready for the next few days.
Two days journeying down the Yorke Peninsular saw us collect 550 caches the first day, and 450 the next. One thousand caches in two days! The numbers were phenomenal, unheard of, and excellent! At one stage we found fifty caches in a one hour period! We worked ourselves into a solid routine, and managed to push these numbers without caching after dark. Incredible! We camped out beside the trail, ready to commence again the following morning.
Having reached our goal of one thousand, we rented a cabin and enjoyed a solid relax and beet, and we were then able to dedicate the remaining time to specific caches, mostly Earthcaches to keep Steeba (The Professor) happy, and a good number of Vrtuals as well, as we made our way back from the end of the Yorke Peninsular to Adelaide. It really became a Tour De Earthcache! If your geocache is such a hide, stand-by, as Steeba will soon contact you with our answers.
As is always the case with these trips, the company was the highlight, with banter non stop, the time went by in an instant.
We saw some amazing things, found some excellent caches, and had an absolute blast.
Ticking just over 1300 finds for the trip, you will have to excuse the boilerplate logs!
Thanks to all of the cache hiders for their efforts in placing and maintaining their hides. It was fantastic exploring this part of the world that I had never visited before. Thanks also to my geocaching partners, without whom such a trip would not be possible, nor fun!
Cheers

After caching an FTF on a cache near by I dropped in to complete this multi. A bit spooky at night but only thing alive was the possum guarding the cache. TFTC

Checked the right tree extensively, but just couldn’t find any cache container. It may be there and we were just cache blind, but surprising given a lot of the previous geocachers commented the easiness to the find. Will have to return another time in the day to check out.
After a few days of intense work commitments, I finally had some free time to go caching today before I had to head to the airport and home. I headed off in fairly random directions to see what I could find and had a great day out there. Nice one! After working out the information I needed for the earthcache here, I moved on to the multi. I was working out what I needed to do when a muggle came along who wanted to chat about Mawson and his local history... Oh well. After she wandered off I carried on with my search. All good with the cache at GZ. TFTC, Biggles.
This cache and the nearby earthcache are on my list of caches to do this week while the muggle missus and I are in Adelaide. It was great, therefore, when the boss told me there was a shop in Brighton she wanted to visit ... as it happens, it's not far from St Judes and we were therefore able to kill two birds with one stone today.
No problems making this find, and having visited the Mawson memorial in North Terrace yesterday, it was good to be able to reflect on his life and achievements here today ... so thanks for placing this multi Stealth Ninja Penguin and Nomad Penguin.

We are trying to get up our tally of multis and earthtcaches so a trip to St Jude's grave yard was a double whammy opportunity to get one of each. This was a nice easy multi and the cache was quickly found. Log very damp and mouldy could do with some TLC. Rex was convinced there was a possum in the tree he was beside himself!! TFTC
Found after getting muggles out along the esplanade. I have a family member buried here too and had a go at the earthcache. What an interesting spot. Not sure if the boots are normally here but they did have a lot of cobwebs. Thanks for the adventure
This was a really great location, I had no idea this was here. I love learning things about my local area. An amazing cache for my 250th! TFTC
My 900th cache and a great one to set the milestone. I had no idea he was here and so glad I now know. Thanks for bringing me here and TFTC
Easy find during our visit in the area. Lovely day, great conditions for Caching. TN, LN, SL. TFTC A bit of unknown local history.
A simple multi in yet another very onterestinb and informative location. We never knew that this is where he was buried. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache.
I am in Australia, visiting my son in Brisbane. Yesterday, I flew to Adelaide to visit friends in Marino. So this morning, off we went to find a few local caches. My muggle friends were amazed to see how a container could be so well-hidden. Thanks for bringing me here....it was a great history lesson!!
Good to know the history of sir Douglas Mawson, a great man. A peaceful place for him to be. TFTC
