Time to go.

4th find of the day and 1920th total find at 13:40.

We are attempting to clear out Bendigo. We tried it once before a few years ago, and had a wonderful time.

So the saga continues, we had an attempt at finding this one a few years back - and sadly we didn't have much luck initially this time around either.

A quick call to The Lady Morris, and we soon discovered that the container at WP1 is now missing, but from her 'cactus' description we interpreted the location of GZ. (Only our interpretation wasn't spot on the first time, we discovered the actual location some 200 metres away - as we were leaving!!)

Took: Everything
Left: Absolutely nothing (on instructions.)
Thanks to The Morris for the cache.

Just me and Team Boofa today as the 2 Junior Creels were AWOL. Found the bee hive and WP1. Quickly off to GZ and found almost immediately. An excellent cache. SL. Will have to return with the girls, they would love to swap from this one I'm sure. Thanks The Morris.

Not much of a view. Found bee hive by mistake jumped back and landed at the real coordinate sight. Probably would have been searching longer otherwise.

07-Mar-09
Found this one with only the senior member of the Crazy Creels after a short hunt WP1 was discovered and quickly to GZ. took mini chess set left a smiggles note pad. Will return at later date with the 2 junior Creels.

I was within seconds of disturbing a hive of bees at the posted co ords during our search for the elusive micro before J piped up and said "What's this thing?".
Certainly wasn't expecting that, but thankful I could put down my long stick and step away from the bees.
Cache was found easily. Must say this isn't one of the better areas I have seen of Bendigo, looks like someone has made the effort of making a new housing estate (for commission housing?) that seemed to have stopped after 2 houses, and even those 2 now look condemned after being vandalized, along with everything else in the street.

Thanks for the cache, J was quite proud of herself for finding the initial micro, and I got to hear about it for the next half hour Smile

TNLN, Cheers.

Today was our second visit to Wpt1, like a few others we were about to leave - What's that? Yes!
At GZ we TNLN but we were able to release a beautiful Marbled Gecko which had somehow entered the container.

I think we just struck it lucky finding WP1 and after a quick stroll to GZ we soon had the cache in hand. Took mondo doll and car left travel game and stickers. SL. Thanks.

We found our 18th Morris cache at 3:25pm as the 15th of 26 on Day 2 of our "Where'd Bendy Go?" long weekend. It's always nice to come back to a cache that you have previously DNFed to finish. On our last visit, WP1 was out of commission. This time, it took a bit of searching before "A" made the clever find. A lot easier at GZ. Thanks for the cache from D, H & A B-A.

Second find for the day.
Very clever too, I may add!!!!
It is a bit sad the waste of housing in the area and a little desolate.
Signed log- took nothing.
Thanks for the Cache The Morris.

Gosh, this cache has caused me some frustration in the past! Sometime last year, whilst on one of my late-night caching trips, I approached GZ and spent about 45 minutes examining the surroundings by torchlight. Eventually I returned to the car somewhat dissapointed.

This time, with a lot more caching experience under my belt, I decided it was time to knock this one off. Returning to WP1, I started scouring the area again. The poor old fire plug copped a flogging!

After over 20 minutes it was time to leave. Just to make sure I hadn't missed anything, I gave the area a quick visual check, when there WP1 was! It was only by fluke that I spotted it. All that hard-earned caching experience had come to nothing; I have never seen a hide like this before!

With the numbers now in hand, it was a simple matter of a short walk to GZ where the cache was soon in hand.

TNLN. Thanks The Morris!

We tried to do this cache last April but WPT 1 went missing. Not so this time and after a bit of a search we found the required info. Then headed off to GZ where Swaggie2 made then find.
Took Geo Compass, Left TB Curt.
Thanks for the cache The Morris

We decided to duck over to Bendigo for a bit of a shopping and geocaching jaunt. We had Mon from Team GraMon in tow with us as well. The rain/drizzle was still coming down as we tackled this one. Fortunately, we were able to park very close to WP1 and Mon and C went for a search whilst D and GeoJnr stayed nice and dry in the car watching us. After poking, prodding, and turning the final coordinates showed themselves and we jumped in the car to head a bit further around. Again, we were able park fairly close and did a sprint to GZ. Mon found the cache pretty easily as it was quite exposed, we signed the log and did the swaps in the car and I ran back and tried to hide the cache with a little more camo. An interesting spot The Morris and how soon the area has been opened up since Jeff's deinstitutionalisation days. The cynic in me screams "Location, Location, Location" and I am surprised not to see developers hovering over the area. TFTC The Morris. Cheers.

Took Karen, Ken, Phil and Sally along to this cache. With Phil, Ken and Sally beening caching virgins and adding in that Phil was on one of his first dates with Sally the scene was set for a most interesting afternoon Wp1 had all 5 of us looking in the wrong spot about 45metres from the correct coordinate. Can you believe it I may have entered the wrong numbers mmmmm bugger
After this minor hic up the clever cache wp hide was found. But due to some fading off the coordinates some of the final digits were guessed haha big mistake walked 400m into the scrub the 5 of us arrived at what we though gz and it looked like a likely spot no doubt others have searched. After 5 mins of looking is when the nice spring day turned nasty the heavens opened up and boy did it rain caught in the middle of it bodies went every direction looking for any type of shelter available I laid down under some bushes and was soon joined by Phil and Sally it was a good time to have a chat and to ask how they were enjoying their first caching experience I was glad to see both of them, although soaked to the bone they were laughing and having a great time. Karen and Ken went missing and with the wind and rain howling talking to people a few metres away was hard enough. After a break in the weather everyone merged from their hidey holes and a quick dash back to the car was made. A call was made to Romax for a clue to where gz may be. After getting the required info the log was quickly sign before the rain got heavier. Thankyou for a most enjoyable time Karen, Ken, Phil and Sally and thankyou The Morris’s for a memorable cache

Found at 11.00am GAFF1. 27th cache of our H & A Bendigo Weekend. We sort of knew what to do and what we were looking for at the posted co-ords, but we just couldn’t see anything obvious for ages. That Fire Plug got a good working over before it finally squealed. As a gesture of our thanks, we then cleaned up the kick marks from it before we left! We then went straight to GZ and found the cache in the second spot we looked. Well done The Morris on a sneaky hide at WPT1. Took: Reflector, Left: Mini screwdriver.

Found by edmil & maddie. We arrived at the GZ and thought what now. Ok a quick search around, ah that's interesting yeah coords were in hand pronto. We entered them into gps and off to cache. Found cache without any hassle. TNLN, thanks for the cache. It's now off to breakfast, yep maddie needs her coffee hit. Damn if we didn't have to eat & drink we'd have more time for caching!

Back on line and nowhere near as amusing.

Found with Dad and Robmc. I would have liked to see wpt1 as the clue we were given would have been a very interesting hide indeed. Thanks the Morris.

As Chewin' has explained this one has given us more than a little trouble Smile I would still like to see WP1.
Thanks, Robmc.

28-Apr-07
Three tries on this one! On the third try I had gained some clues on what I was looking for at waypoint one. Still couldn't find so I called Romax and was told it is now off-line. Romax kindly gave us a description of GZ, (no co-ords though) and we managed to find the cache by the description. You might say we got it by default but we certainly tried hard first.
Thanks Morris

Well I was there in daylight and it didn't help! Spent some time in what I took to be the area but no cigar! Was it a self-fulfilling prophecy when I over-heard a snippet at the Get Together!? I will watch this space.

Found with Team Crackers, Mystery inc777 and Mini Cacher 1. Would like to see this one when it's back on line. As per Team Crackers log this one took a lot longer than we thought it would and with some help we were finally able to log a find.
Thanks to The Morris for the final and the cache,

Our 4th and last find for the day in the company of Mr Coffee, Mystery inc and minicacher one. We started to search around here and with so many eyes we were quite confident that we would find WPT1. Bendigo has a way of dashing that confidence very quickly. After about an hour's searching we decided to call the Team Rubik help line and with renewed enthusiasm we again searched an area we had already checked but again with no luck. We then tried the rhinogeo help line, know we knew roughly what we were looking for we tried again, again with no luck. We then tried the Morris help line and got the answering machine Doh!!!!. We again tried the Rhinogeo help line , explained our predicament, he didn't have the final co-ords with him but described roughly what we were looking for. In desperation we fanned out and tried our luck that way but again with no luck, With more than two hours searching and the sun well and truly set we tried the ever helpful Maccmob hotline( this was becoming very embarrassing) They told us exactly where wpt 1 should have been, and as we headed back past wpt1, the Coffee
clan were attacked by a women running through the bush.. This lady turned out to be the angle of mercy (Mrs The Morris) as she was able to confirm that wpt1 had again vanished. This made us all feel a little bit better and when she then lead us to gz we were all quite relieved. After nearly two and a half hours since the start of our adventure we finally had the log book signed. and then a very pleasant chat with Mrs the Morris ensued and we learnt a bit more of the history of gz
In all the confusion we can't remember if we made swaps or not.
Thanks The Morris, we hope that wpt1 can be resurrected as we would very much like to find it

*Sigh. Not sure what we'll do with this one. Found the remains and it looks like an animal has taken a liking to it.

25-Apr-07
Our 3rd of 4 DNFs for the trip. We really should have been heading back to Rowville as it wsa now getting quite dark but as we were nearby we took a quick trip to WP1. It took us 1 minute to decide to return in the daylight for this one.

Found by Mary & David at 1730. No luck on our previous visit as the micro had gone walkabout. Mary spotted the replacement today - more evil than 'Not Happy Jack'! Took sticky notes, left Simpsons figurine. Our thanks again to The Morris.

Found by Facitman and the Facit-Family in the company of Rhinogeo on our Bendigo Bonanza Easter Weekend at 12:54
Arrived at the first waypoint and looked, scratched our collective heads and then Rhinogeo came up with the coordinates but alas we don't think the container is in the form intended by the hider. Anyway, followed the co-ordinates to the final location for a fairly straight forward find by Facitman
Took: USA Mondo, Left: bubble mix

Thanks The Morris for the cache and, as we realised once home, thanks for our 400th cache find

07-Apr-07
Found 200704071255 Smile. Things weren't looking too good for the Facit-family and I at the initial waypoint when the described feature was missing [:o]. I spotted the micro in the open, and re-hid it better in the same location.

The cache was easily found, not too far away, and no swaps were made Smile

Cheers The Morris

Eighteenth of twenty-two cache finds in company with dak’s Emu Mob on our usual Wednesday assault; this week we chose Bendigo. The cache was found at 20:10. Rubik had warned us about this evil, but had not told us what awaited us here, like others we found our selves at the stump, after looking around in the dark for some time we called Rubik for a hint and then another five minutes later Dak found the interesting micro, with the numbers loaded into the gpr’s we made our way to GZ for a nice easy find. We found the first point to be out by 10m so I have taken a reading and have attached it to my log. Thanks to The Morris for the cache.

Eighteenth of twenty-two finds in company with acts2youthgroup in our latest 'clean up Bendigo' day. It had been an interesting day. our confidence was at a low ebb. I hadn't called so many hint lines before. Team Rubik had asked us a couple of times during the day about this cache, so we were apprehensive about it. It was also dark by now, adding an extra level of difficulty. We couldn't find anything obvious within a reasonable distance of the advertised coordinates. We took a couple of readings, averaged them, and Acts2YG has attached them to his log. We rang Team Rubik, and at least we now knew what we were looking for. It still took a bit of searching before we turned it up. The cache was an easy find (thankfully) at 2010. Watch out for the sharp points at GZ--I was stabbed three times! [B)] I made no exchange. Thanks to The Morris for the cache. Cheers, dak.

Our fourth DNF, on a day when our finds only just exceeded our DNFs. Geez we hate 'em in rocks too, but we're beginning to dislike micros in bushland almost as much. We had a consistent GZ at what we took to be the 'loose stump' in the description, so after a search around that spot, we moved to the recommended offset position - still nothing. Then widened our search even further, but again no prize. We are still not worthy. Gave up the search as a lost cause, but will keep it in mind for a future visit.

I thought I had seen everything until this.... This gave us a chuckle as we were not really expecting a struggle here but that's what we got. Our corods seemed a bit out too 8m. Anyway no excuses, final hide a relief. thanks the morris.

10th find of the day at 1:48pm. Accompanied by Feathertop on our labour day holiday.
We had a bit of trouble here as we were looking in the wrong spot for wpt 1 as the coords. were out by about 6 meters, so after another phone a friend option the cache was soon in hand. TNLN, Signed Log. Thanx to The Morris....Big Grin

Lady Morris stated at the beginning of her little sadistic game with me that this cache is best experienced without any clues, and I have to agree.

However, I do have one piece of advice; if you do agree to search for this cache in her presence, don't make the mistake of commentating your thoughts in an effort to elicit some sort of clue from her, you will feel very silly indeed. Smile

Thanks for a new experience, I dropped off a heap of TBs into the already very impressive cache container.

Found by Roma and Max.
This is no doubt one of the most unique camo jobs we have seen in all our geo experiences.
Our receivers and the satellites weren’t co-operating on our first 2 visits to the posted co-ordinates, but it is said that third times can be lucky and this proved to be the case, although once again it was Roma’s keen eyes that came up with the goods.
If the other member of our search team had listened to her comment, on our second visit, it is quite likely we would have found the container without the micro!
He has been chastised appropriately.
We left one of our usual Mondo Figurines for the cache and took a Malaysia Key Tag and the very thoughtful surprise that had been left for us!
Thanks again to The Morris for adding yet another challenge that is bound to test visiting searchers to the Bendigo Geo scene.
Romax.

All I can say is WOW!!
The Morris are proving themselves to be great hiders!!
Found @ 4.40pm with the huge assistance of Hardiman and son!!!
Hardimans son found the wpt. in about 5 minutes, after I had been searching solo for over an hour. My GPSr led me to a place about 4 meters from where the wpt was. Hardimans GPSr led him straight to it!!
The actual cache proved no problem, but I was hugely impressed with the wpt for both this cache, and for the last Morris cache.
The cache was stocked with great goodies, but I decided to only leave a fozzy card and sign the log.
Thanks Morris!!!

Found at 4:35pm. Well what can I say, I'm just glad Hardyman junior was with me, as it was his boyish curiosity that found the first waypoint. It was great race with Fozzy for the cache, fortunatly I chose the right side to look. Thanks for such an inspirational cache. Claimed FTF certificate, grabbed TB and took radio. Left world globe.

TFTC The Morris looking forward to your next one
