visiting Orange and while I was here we took a drive out to Byng to see the Church, and as there was a cache here, took a bit of searching to spot the container, despite only being half of it.

Looked around for a while and was sure I knew where it should have been but couldn't see anything.
Then spied a little roll of paper laying at the base of the gate post. Yes it was the log and a lttle worse for wear due to exposure to the elements. A closer look and found the top piece of the micro with magnet attached but could not locate the bottem section.
Suspect that it has been hit by a wipper when the lawn was done last and the bottom section has been flicked somewhere away from GZ.
.i am claiming the find but the log couldn't be signed.

Just down the road from where we live. Have visited the church many times - who would have known - we loved this one even though it took a bit of finding. Smile

All most gave up when geo-kid came up with the goods.

31-Mar-11
Found while on the “Scenic Web Lookin” Orange mini blitz. We made the find on this one under the high beam light of the car. Was not expecting to find a grand looking old church like that one out here.

Thanks for the cache.

Tried this one today without a description (no phone coverage)
Came to the right place, but didn't know to look for micro, or magnetic!
Ended up searching in the shrubbery for some time before deciding to return with more info Wink

Just about to give up when it was spotted. TFTC

13-Nov-10
Had no sooner stopped at this pretty little historic church when a car stopped across the road to check us out. Our cameras seemed to satisfy their concerns and they soon drove off.
Thanks tanitag79

16-Jul-10
First geocaching attempt, perhaps we'll seek out something bigger first.

09-Apr-10
Took a little while to find this one but we left with the log signed. Great little church. TFTC

11-Mar-10
Great little spot.
We added a sheet to the log, but the container is well and truly chockers now.
It would be great if the original sheet were remove for safe keeping

Mr Darcy & [:X][:X][:X]Lizzie[:X][:X][:X]
PS doing a virtual coin drop to record its travels - it didn't fit.

08-Jan-10
Nice little country church, Thanks for the cache, there is now no room on the log.

Very very strong mag and great hide.....

What a great little church. Another fine example of "if it wasn't for caching we would have never seen it.

A nice quick find. Had to find a spot on the log as it is full.

78 - Have been wanting to do this one for quite a while! Enjoyed the drive out and quickly located the cache. Nice hide! TFTC

13-May-09
369 This was a two stage find.

Stage 1: wander around aimlessly trying to settle GZ and searching without any particular focus. Result: nothing.

Stage 2: much more focussed on the task with a narrow focus. Result: found the cache! Nice place for some quiet time and enjoyed the church...... TFTC

Found at 1805. Took a little detour on the way back to Bathurst from Orange, and when we arrived, we couldn't believe there were muggles wandering around the church grounds. Whilst they disappeared for a few minutes around the back, Shell made the find, and had it replaced by the time they reemerged. As we left, we soon found out what they were doing there......metal detecting.....we should have asked to borrow it to find the cache. Big Grin Great church.

Thanks.

28-Mar-09
A neat little church in the middle of nowhere and would you believe it there were muggles about! After a little diversion we had the cache in hand. TFTC.

2090.

A lovely little church that is very old! There were some people with a metal detector that we had to wait for them to go around the back but the find was made quickly. I was a bit surprised this one was still there a it seemed to be very much out in the open.

Thanks tanitag79 for the cache.

This one took a little time to locate.
However persistance paid off together with some lateral thinking before the prize was ours.
Very small and very clever! - well done.

Thanks fof the Cache

23-Nov-07
Cache check on behalf of Tanitag79. Yep, it is still there in its original spot!

10-Nov-07
We searched and searched but came up with nothing. It must be a sneaky find!

10-Nov-07
We couldn't see this one as darkness was approaching- another nice church though.

10-Nov-07
This was a disappointing detour, but certainly a lovely church. GPS had us jumping from one side of the road to the other.

24-Oct-07
Larst find before my meeting.

Only one word for this location...... "Quaint" Big Grin
Great little church with a great little name Smile
TFTC.

07-Jul-07
Found Pi and a muggle friend.

Had to head past this spot on an errand and thought we would stop and have a look. For some reason GPSr had us heading 180mtrs past the rear corner of the property, which didn't require to much smarts to realise this was way off the mark. Did a cursory search then we headed off on our errand and decided to stop by again on the way back.

Fast forward about 3/4 of an hour and we were coming back past the cache. Stopped the car, got out and said to myself "there it is", walked over and had it in hand in less than 30 seconds of pulling up. Signed log and had it back in mere minutes. Container was clearly visible and I replaced it as I found it. Log book will only take a few more notes before filling up.

Must say this is a beautiful little church and I am glad I had a chance to stop and visit it.

TFTC,
GPS.

Took a bit of searching for this one. Interesting placement, sticks out like the proverbials once you know where it is. Great little church too. SL

This is such a nice church - if team bloopy were religious we reckon this would be a great spot to tie the knot. Hats off to the team before us who found it in the dark! Impressive but they missed out on a really nice place as the sun went down. Thanks for bringing us here - we are always amazed with the great places that caching takes us.

21-Apr-07
What a great hide. We know the area well and we called in just on dark and thought we knew where it would be but our GPS was directing us else where. After making sure we had the right co ordinates we had to believe in our GPS and just look outside the probable!!!

08-Apr-07
Great place for an afternoon drive. Have always wanted to have a look at the church but never quite got there. Thanks Tanitag.

07-Apr-07
A beautiful church and a great cache. Stopped a while to take photos and have a look through the cemetry. Thanks tanitag79

24-Mar-07
Rocked up only to find a white car parked at GZ and 2 people wandering around the nearby cemetry. So, off I wandered around the church, inspecting every stone, eave, bay, window, door, .... three times before they finally left. Then I had the cache in hand in mere seconds.
BTW - The church has a stone by the front door - 1872 = OLD.
Thanks Tanitag79 for a nice drive along a country lane too.

Easy find. We agree with bshwckr - FTF's are seriously overrated. It's the area and the find itself that lures us in. Beautiful scenery and a nice drive is the aim of geoing (in our opinion).

02-Feb-07
going for a ftf on this one only to find it had been found yesterday by the hiders mate and not logged!!!Not happy Jan!!!With Bullet fuel @ $126.9 we will think long and hard before we virgin hunt this area again.
There is a nice pair of Geosuzie prints pointing straight at the cache.I got it at 10.30am it is 12 now and I am still first to log.

01-Feb-07
Found on my way home to the Hunter Valley after work on Thursday. Always wondered what was at Byng. Now I know. On arriving home I found that the puter had a dirty big virus and so I had to blow it away. Just now @ 1.06 PM Saturday is my first chance to log the visit, which I might add is a FTF. Sorry Routers, there is no conspiracy to defeat you in FTF. Frankly, I think FTF's are over-rated. I enjoy the hunt and the location that geocaching gives. There has been no collusion between Tanitag79 and myself at all over these last two caches. I didn't even tell him I had posted a new cache.
