As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it's been a number of months since the last owner note. I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it. Should you replace the cache after 30 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.
Got to GZ to find log book only scattered all over the bushes, so replaced with a smaller than regular for the next finder.

Cold, windy Easter Monday. 2 kids and a dog made a good disguise as I went in for the grab. TFTC.
After being in Ballarat two weeks ago it was back today with the suscoe team to add a few more smiley's to my tally. Our aim was to find a few mysteries and others as we passed by.
After parking close by I really made hard work with this cache as I followed the directions given to me by the GPS. Over the edge, cross the flowing small creek , only to have cross again and back to where I started and after a hint from suscoe the cache was soon located. All is well so thanks to highrod but you must watch the barkers eggs as noted by a previous cacher.

Night 1 of our Ballarat Smackdown weekend with DazRascal, Blacklegend, Quasar3671 & Trailrunning which seen us collecting a great range of caches over 3 days.
Searched and searched with all eyes on deck to no avail - confident the cache was MIA. Luckily Trailrunning was well prepared and was able to replace the cache for some future finds.
A nice area - many thanks highrod for bringing us here. TNLN SL.

One of 182 caches I personally found during our "Ballarat Smackdown" trip. The trip included teams Quasar3671, Trailrunning, Haveanez, Dazrascal and myself. Caches included around 30 mystery caches, a few earth caches, lots of trads and multis and both day and night caching. Some 4WD action was encountered as well, which was great. All puzzles within 60kms were solved.
I took three of my kids, Jasmine 7yo, James and Jemma 5yo twins, traveling from Tocumwal. The trip covered 3 days and two nights, staying in Ballarat. Quasar3671 took his two boys as did Haveanez. One of the best caching trips I have been on, and certainly lots and lots of finds, almost clearing out the main Ballarat area. Home base was the Miners Retreat motel, which was quite pleasant and quiet.
Found this one on a Friday "night run" after arriving at the accommodation and having a bite to eat. Very extensive search by many people undertaken and even with knowledge of the hide location, no cache found. Helped out the local caching community here again by replacing the cache. TFTC.

One of 184 cache finds during our "Ballarat Smackdown" weekend of caching on the 23rd to 25th. There were 13 of us including Blacklegend and three of his kids, Trailrunning, Haveanez and their two boys, Dazrascal and myself amd my two boys Tyler and Cooper. We'd spent a few weeks planning the trip, with every Ballarat Puzzle solved in the area, cache lists and road and route maps all ready to go. We stayed in the Miners Retreat Motel for the two nights and the accomodation and facilities were great. Our goal was simple - find as many caches as possible in the time we were here !
We found a great variety of caches and hides during the three days, which also involved a bit of walking and some 4WD fun as well in the state forests north of Ballarat. The weather was quite cold of the Friday and Saturday morning but eventually cleared to nice sunny weather Saturday arvo and Sunday. We all had a great time, especially the kids who did really well to keep up with the pace we were moving.
We searched for quite a while and found nought. Not found for five months and with some DNF's we replaced the cache so others could log it.

Team “Ballarat Cache Smackdown” was formed for the weekend of 23-25 March with the very intention of going hard at grabbing as many caches in the Ballarat area that was humanly possible in such a short period of time. The puzzles within a 60 km radius of Ballarat were solved, some multi’s as well. 4WD’s were packed with all manner of goodies, maps and run sheets prepared, spare batteries accumulated, UHF radios charged, etc. The team consisted of TrailRunning, Quasar3671, Blacklegend, Haveanez and Dazrascal. Home base was the pleasant Miner’s Retreat Motel at a reasonable rate a night for a cabin sleeping 8 people. After a quick bite to eat for dinner the Smackdown started with 36 caches being found on the first night. We had read the logs about DNF's and the D/T rating. This should be easy! After we all piled out of vehicles we undertook and extensive search, and decided to replace. Good thing we did as a good mate of mine from Geelong (Bushfire) was to pop in the next day for a find. Thanks for #11.
Hmmmm this has got me stuffed .... Lots of muggles but a stealthy thorough search was fruitless ..... Bugger
Must have come close but didn't feel the need to draw attention to myself by further scrub bashing.
It took us longer to find than it should have ... It's worth reading the description carefully. Took ladybug and parrot, left fish and ribbon.
Suscoe enjoyed a short walk and there was the cache, safe and sound.

I even like the imitation type. Sometimes I reckon it tastes better than the real type. Clear skies from TeamAstro.

Any cache that references delicious Canadian bacon, pancakes and maple syrup is well worth it in my opinion. Easy find that got my mouth watering. Only problem - where the hell do you park your car round there?
Sweet, we found it! Made the find at 1620 on a "circumnavigation" of the lake. Took nothing and left a ladybug. Thanks highrod for showing us an impressive new estate in the city and a great place for a walk.
Easy find today. Cache was spotted whilst walking to GZ. I hope it doesn't get muggled.

Log is exposed. Seems a shame to have the logbook like this.

This was an interesting find.
Searching around the area for quite some time.
Just about to give up when bf exclaims that he has found the log! Yeah, just the log! I had another bit of a look around and I found a yellow plastic comb, probably one of the swaps.
Put my mark in the log, unfortunately I didn't have any ziplock bags with me to protect it a bit more from the weather and replaced it where bf had found it.
I however would suggest that this either needs a new cache, and possibly a new hiding spot.
Thanks Highrod for the cache.

Had a quick look for this one before joining the owner and other fellow cachers at the Ballarat dinner.
After reading the previous log, it was easy to give up quickly as there was a couple of frothies to be had, and new friends to meet.
Will have to have another crack at this at a later date.
Beautiful spot to live, some of these new subdivisions really get things right.
Thanks anyway Highrod, for the cache, and the evening that ensued

Into the precincts of Canada and it's traditional syrup, this was to be the last for the day.
What a day it had been - very low temperatures, freezing wind and showers. Is this what Ballarat is renowned for?
On the up side - during the day, we enjoyed the fabulous company of many like minded people Squalid, BackPAQers, The Morris, WazzaAndWenches & Metamorphic Mac.
TNLN .. SL .. Thanks for the hunt

This was a rather nice area and we liked the wetlands. The cache was found in the company of Phetlern, but we didn't linger because of the cold. Left Cheese Please TB - if there's any cheese here it will be frozen!
Found with Mogni on the way to New Zealand's South Island for a week of touring and caching.

Nice cache, just don't miss the turn off like we did.
Note to self: Don't get distracted while navigating, it tends to upset the driver. Ah, isn't caching fun.
Had to empty the water out of the cache when we opened it, glad it wasn't maple syrup!
