We saw the mine from a distance, although we hadn't read the cache notes at that stage and wondered whether it was going to be a large regional dam. The area certainly needs some water, it's so dry.
We did a quick search when we arrived but found nothing. We eventually turned the correct rock, but discovered that the "cache" was now nothing more than a vomit bag which is disintegrating. The lid of the old container was still in place, but the cache has obviously broken under the pressure of the rock at some time. The cache needs maintenance. Thanks

Another minor detour on our way to a multi. This one is in very sad condition. All that is left of the original cache is a lid and some jagged broken plastic around the edges. At some point someone has added a vomit bag, and this is almost decayed away, breaking up. The log is wet & disgusting. The remaining cache contents are in bad condition.
Needs an owner visit to replace the container, or archiving if the owner doesn't want to maintain it any more.
Thanks

Out touring around the countryside with drobbonz and kiwisteve2. Made the find pretty quickly. Log was very damp. Tftc
Found as part of an Orange and surrounds geomission with fitzy_1965, AngelG27 & Sol de Lune (signed as FASS to save time & space) Top weather, great company and lots of laughs meant for an epic weekend of caching all round!
A bit of a bonus cache for me and AngelG7 as fitzy and SDL had found this one previously. I reasonably quick find but the container is quite mouldy [xx(]
Thanks for the hide, tanitag79

Fitzy_1965, SpecimenX, Sol de Lune and I (logged as "FASS") headed from Canberra to Orange and surrounds for a caching blitz over the 30-31 July weekend. We logged around 1000kms in the Geo-Jeep, selecting those caches that Fitzy had not previously found. I scored around 130 caches for the trip. The visit was characterised by blue skies, very green paddocks, lots of water off and on the road, a fair amount of mud, and good company! Still plenty of caches to collect and scenic spots to explore on a return trip. Thanks to my fellow travellers for a fun weekend, and the COs for all their efforts in putting out and maintaining the caches.
50th for the day at 1330 (55th for the trip). SDL and Fitzy had found this one, but Specimen X and I had not so we stopped enroute to another cache to make the find. The Cache was not in good condition. It had mold inside and out and the log was wet. Will submit a separate NM log. But we did enjoy looking at the nearby mining works as we drove past. Thanks tanitag79!

Got to this one and went ok a guard rail. Lucky for me the coordinates are pretty good. Found with alittle searching. What a big mine TFTC
The hint says to crawl under a rock if you can't find it, but which rock? There's certainly a lot here!

One we entered the coords right (ie stay away from the bared wire fence) the booty was soon ours. Cheers!
Very long grass was troubling us today! As I was trying to get the phone going to read the clue..... geoson casually said "found it". Another for the kids on our afternoon drive. TFTC
We were cautious near the cache but no blue tongue. Nice views of the mine from here - thanks.
Just doing my bit for the 29th.
Not much to see today as the rain was pelting down. The grass was long but I found it in the end. TFTC

Lovely warm and sunny day to do some caches today after waking up to freezing early morning at Blayney with -0.8 degrees in our caravan brrr brrr!!...took us a while before Ms Bushies2 found it. Thanks tanitag79.
Bathurst 11. The road looked very remote, and no one passed y while I was here. The grass disguised the rocks well, so I had to poke around a bit to get the right one. Thanks.

Taking the long way home after a training coures finished early. Quick easy find. Big dams for a big mine.

Found this one eventually after spending a bit of time looking on the other side of the road. I felt so silly after finding it.
This one was a quick easy find. That certainly is a large tailings dam isn't it!!! and the moving mountains near by are just huge. They have certainly processed some ground looking for that elusive precious stuff ah.
Thanks for the cache.

Took a Sunday Drive to find this one. Havn't previously been in this area. The scale of the operation is impressive.

The landscape looks one hell of a lot better following some rain; unfortunately one of the grey nomads feeding on the lush greenery left his legs behind on the barbed wire fence - not too far away - long slow death of starvation I would guess! Grots took nothing - full of crap - always keen and kind to others they left a stress ball and pencil sharpener. Not that you can stress- out finding this one - sinch, unless environmental vandalism, caused by dirty bloody big mines, upsets you! 3rd find of the day.
Found easily as we looked over the valley. It's so amazing the size of it all. Just makes you wonder what will actually happen to the area when all resources have been used up!!!!!
First find of the day and second find overall. What a difference the right datum makes! Left a keyring and took a bird. Thanks tanitag 97.
WHAT AN AMAZING SIGHT.
