Without a checker, cant be 100% sure my coordinates are correct, but no luck for me at my calculated location . Not having a great day..
On the 20th February 2007 I placed this guy, gee that is a long time ago, can you remember that far back. This cache along with over a hundred and fifty others have been adopted out to other folk who I hope are happy to look after these guys as the ageing Bushfire has developed a health problem that will only get worse so a big thanks to all these great friends. Finally, I must thank my good friend Quickhealer2 for looking after this guy as it has got to the stage when I must pass it on and wish it good luck for the future. I know it is in good hands. And lastly, I will give it another favourite because I can now. Thanks for all the great logs that have been placed over many years.
A long planned trip away finally came to fruition as we headed off to Geelong after a gap of some years to catch up with caching friends. There is always a good variety of caches and hides to search for and Geelong itself is a pretty spot with lots of places to explore. Plenty of history and lovely scenery with the bay, riverside, open paddocks and bushland. We particularly enjoyed the many trails and riverside paths where Mrs SKI could give her new ebike a workoutA great time was had with lots of laughs and ribbing as we searched for the various caches and wondered what we might find next. We also had the chance to catch up with some great local cachers on a lovely evening out.Logs signed as SKI Pair, SP or RASP.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Quickhealer2.**SKI Pair****
After a big day in Greater Geelong yesterday, KBucky and I decided to head out on Olive and my nameless trusty treadle to find a clutch of caches close to our temporary home base. Nice weather and few people made for perfect counting and a quick find at GZ. After meeting up with the legendary Bushfire at Saturdays Christmas event, we are really happy to find some of the caches he has placed over the years...nothing like a name to a face! TFTC and the FUN!
A Bushfire classic! After a big day driving around the Geelong area, this morning saw us exploring on our treadlies. Some quick maths and coords soon in hand. It was very busy along here this morning on such a glorious day but we were able to quickly find and sign log. Thanks for another enjoyable cache Bushfire
Gotcha! Another satisfactory bushfire hide discovered. This one definitely fits in the “classic” Bushfire hide category.
Took me a few minutes, arguing with an inconsistent GPS. Eventually stopped to ask myself: where would he put it around here? Sure enough: I had my answer pretty quickly. But then failed to find it! Eventually, after circling around one more time and coming back to the same spot, I had a closer look. Success! Quickly logged. Now hightail it back home to pick up the geokids from school.
Sidenote: I’m amazed that this one survived the floods.

Nice simple multi,
No one around at all on a nice warm Boxing Day.
A quick and easy find too.
TFTC all ok with the cache.

Due to all the water that is around this guy may have floated away but when the water recedes low enough I will check it out.
Counted counted and counted.
3 different GZ’s and we where still guessing. Ha.

At 9am Thursday morning Rex and I got back to Shepp[|)] after driving all night to get home[|)][|)] from 6 days away near Mildura Then today, for something different we headed for Geelong to attend 2 events
We were both still tired when we left for this trip[|)][|)][|)] so the weekend was a slow one[^][|)][^][^][^]
Saturday's tally was 2 events attended: a CITO[^][^] and a debrief afterwards, an adv lab completed and 3 caches found[^][^]
After our 1st ever Airbnb booking on Saturday night[^][|)][^] where we had a good sleep, Rex and I spent almost 2 hours at Torquay Beach where he did the usual chasing seagulls and swimming after his ball
Sunday's tally was 4 caches found and 2 DNFs
Got to love caching on Sunday night after 8pm as it is nice and quiet[^][:X][^]
I needed a multi for today and as I was driving around on my way home[|)][xx(][|)], I saw this nice easy multi pop up so I detoured[^], counted[^] and wandered to find a cache: spot on at the coords[^] and in a clever hide

This was my first time solving a puzzle and navigating to coordinates. Nice easy one ! TFTC
Funny how things work out perfectly when you do the maths right …. Took us way longer than it should have but got there in the end!!!

*Cache find # 11713.*
This afternoon I head around to Geelong town with Mark with a few targets in our sights.
Our next target was a night cache but it was still a little early so stopped to have a look at some multis on the way.
I wasn’t expecting what we found at the posted coordinates but we counted and ended up with a new set of numbers and thats where we headed next, once there it wasn’t found straight away but eventually the hide was uncovered and the log was signed.
**Thanks to Bushfire for placing this cache.**

**Find #4717**
**Multi Find #398**
I headed to Geelong late this afternoon with Steve to attempt a night cache in addition to a few other caches that were of interest to us. We couldn't resist this old cache and it was a fun one to do and not too taxing on the brain either. No muggles around which was great and a fairly quick find at GZ was the result.

We had tried to do a little online detective work for this one, and until we arrived at the posted coordinates, nothing made sense. Once at the posted coordinates, everything fell into place, and the required information was obtained. From that point, it was just a short stroll to GZ to pick up another smiley. The area was tranquil today; everyone must have been at work, so it was easy to find this cache without making anyone suspicious. The Barwon River was looking particularly fine today and lining in the sun. The cache itself was in great condition and well camouflaged. Thank you, Bushfire, for another interesting cache.
Started working on the puzzle last Spring then it started pouring rain while we counted so we left and solved at home. Finally came back here today to go scootering along the river and just as we passed the initial coords I realised we hadn’t found the cache yet so it was a very productive pit stop! TFTC.
Grub62 and I were in the area (looking for other caches) and thought this cache looked interesting. We went to the 1st way point and counted the rowers and coxes made our calculations. After wandering off to GZ we searched around a bit then extended our search area slightly and finally found the well concealed cache. Thanks for the adventure Bushfire I hope we can meet up again at one of the events that we can now go to. TFTC.
Out with Bunadoorian this morning - this was a nearby cache to two on our list - to find today. It was a pleasant walk from the last cache - I wasn't sure where we would be doing the counting from but a clever use of exisiting art and we enjoyed the quick calculations involved. Another enjoyable walk near the river and we found GZ. Cache in good condition. TFTC Bushfire.
Today we needed to take our geovehicle to a nearby dealer to have a few warranty issues sorted. While the car was there we decided to take ourselves for a walk to find a few caches. All was good with this cache, no muggles and a cache find is a positive for us. SL TFTC

Finally found with help from the CO. We had the coords correct just couldn't find where it was as our GPS was out about 5-10metres TFTC
While staying at Geelong we decided to find a few caches in the area and this was one of them.
A straight forward multi and after a short walk we made an easy find at GZ, cache and contents were in good condition.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found with little blue hen while out for a stroll. Accurate coords meant a quick find. Tftcsl
Rowing regatta over so time to bag this one finally. Had tried this a number of times vomit the coordinates didn’t make sense. Eventually did a PAF for a hint. For whatever reason my phone was taking me ages away from the cache but at least I had the right idea thanks for the cache.
Realised that we hadn't done this one when we were driving past. Nice quick find after the coords were worked out. Thanks for the cache.

In the area for the Christmas events, so taking the opportunity with omegaman1971 to do some of the local hides inbetween. As all the events were in different areas, it gave a variety of finds by different owners. We only had a few DNF's and made some good discoveries and clever hides during the day. While we met a few other teams along the way, we had some fun and laughs along the way.
It didn't take long to come up with what was needed to make this quick find.
Thanks Bushfire for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

Thirty caches found today, I was able to pick this one up mid-morning. The weather was much cooler than the last few days which made for a nice day out in G-Town. It was about time I cleaned up some of these multi caches. A quick find on this one. Thanks for the cache Bushfire.

A fair bit of counting was done here, and then some maths. Eventually I had some good oolong coordinates. I headed over to GZ and the cache was located after a short search. Thanks again for another multi Bushfire
Well, I'm back from Melbourne and that means that it's time to find some more geocaches. I still prefer caching in Geelong as the GPS is much more stable than in Melbourne because you aren't caching next to skyscrapers. Anyway today I was dropped off at Kardinia Park, walked down to the mountain bike track then took a mild hike down to Belmont.
After my first attempt of this cache, where I had no idea what a cox was and ended up getting coordinates in the river, I had researched what a cox was and done my maths at home to get the GZ coordinates. Today I made a quick find, added my name to log, placed in a swap then returned as found. TFTC

Loved all those rowers with the coxes exhorting them to greater effort. After the admiration here I wandered along to where I thought the cache should be. Hooray. There it was. As I was signing it a helpful dog arrived to see if it could help so hoping the owner was not too concerned about what was so interesting to the dog. By the time I had returned the cache there was no sign of dog or owner. Thanks for a fun multi Bushfire
This has long been on my list to do in the geelong area and with a little bit of my time to wait today I thought I would come to do it. I mucked up the numbers which I seem to do with easy multis but I soon looked at likely locations, changed a number and found it nicely tucked away. Signed and replaced as found

With a couple of free hours and some treasure needing to be found for Mary Hyde, hubby and I set out to pick up a couple of multis.
After finding a couple of multis not so far away, we had time for one more, but it needed to be easy.
Hubby said he had the coordinates for this one but couldn't find it last time he looked. After seeing quite a few find logs we thought we'd give it another crack.
Glad we did... hubby put his hands straight on it this time, not sure why he couldn't find it last time!
Everything is in excellent condition.
Another find by the McPhail family.

A quick trip to Geelong with sassieold55 and Jackjames1993, this was our last stop, have never been to this part of the Barwon before, quite a few rowers here taking advantage of the sunny arvo TFTC and a fav point
We have had the car in for some work a couple of times recently, quite nearby to here. Dad of the Sims worked out the co-ords while the windscreen was being replaced, and a short time later, mum and the girls stopped by gz after collecting the car from being serviced. It was fairly quiet along here on a Thursday afternoon, but we have often seen the crowds when an event is in full swing. Thanks Bushfire!
MaggieDot and I out today on the hunt for caches. It was a fine day up till we got out of the car for this cache then it started. It rained on us relentlessly while we worked out the maths walked and found the cache and signed the log and then walked to the car. Then it stopped and the sun came out. Would have been funnier if I had a jumper. This cache will forever be "the soggy cache " to us. Thanks Bushfire.
Oh my goodness but AutumnTree and I got wet doing this one. It rained! We took shelter against the nearby building, rushing out and back to collect the required information. Worked out our set of coordinates and headed to the GZ, both trying to stay out of the rain under one quite small umbrella. It was cold and wet and ridiculous - all making for a memorable caching experience! Cache found, log signed and all replaced.

Have solved a few puzzles and multi. So we are out today to find out if we have the right answers. My brother was a rower. He was stroke of the firsts for Ballarat High school. So we have been to a lot of the rowing courses around Victoria,Baracking for them. TFTC
I didn't see any rowers on the river this evening. I arrived at WP1 and gathered the info from the impressive features. I soon had a set of coordinates which led me straight to GZ. I disturbed a drop tail lizard while grabbing the cache. TFTC Bushfire.
Beautiful day to be out by the river. Gps on phone was struggling but had the old trusty etrex and it was up to the task. Geotween found easily and did the paper logging while I did this!
Knocked off work and met the geo-gf down the river for our first multi! We had no idea what we were doing. Eventually figured it out, despite both our phone gps' flipping out! Sneaky setup, but came up with the goods!
Looking forward to more multis to come!

Simple calculation although I completed it twice to be sure. Quick find despite the muggle rowers and lawn mowers.
Rowers and coxes. Row row row row row row your boat then divide Count cox1 cox 2 cox 3 cox 4 ........... then subtract.
I'd thought I'd cocked it up but the number of rowers and coxes came together and I had a plausible GZ. Off I went and put my hand in and extracted a cache - and I did not get wet! At least I didn't have to walk on water for this one!!
Thanks to Bushfire and clear skies from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet!

As I returned from my ride to the Breakwater Rd Bridge I paused a little while to look at the rowers in training and also to seek out this cache. Nice little multicache Bushfire. TFTC.
Spent the afternoon scootering along the Barwon River, finding all the caches. Since they were more or less easy to find, and ended up with no FTF's, it was a very enjoyable ride. This was a fun cache to do. Gps was a little bit out at gz, but since there weren't that many places to hide a cache, I found it pretty quickly. Tftc.
Made sure we tackled this under the cloak of darkness so not to be disturbed by any muggles tonight. Got our necessary numbers and done the maths and then set off for GZ. It's funny we never knew there was a road under this's do of the bridge, another thing learnt from caching.
Thanks Bushfire for another cache.

A last minute arrangement was made to head towards the Geelong area with sharkiefan with the main aim being to find 16 multi caches and for her to complete the "Multi March" challenge with 31 multi's. The weather was looking good, so a 9am start it was.
This was multi #11 for the day. We took a bit of a wrong turn getting to this one thanks to Mr TomTom. Eventually we self guided to the car park and headed in. Nobody about today except a couple of kids playing on the river. A bit of counting and maths and we soon had the co-ords for GZ. for some reason, my GPSr was pointing in the opposite direction than it should, it soon righted itself and we were at GZ signing the log soon after.

Only one detecting muggle this afternoon who was not taking any notice of us. The wrought iron work is fantastic and very apt for this spot. We gathered the information, made the calculations and made our way to GZ nearby where we found the cache. Thanks Bushfire for bringing us to this spot.
On a multi campaign today in the Geelong and surrounding areas with Glanville Girls, Tomstache, wozzle68 and ST37E, we left home in the dark and arrived home in the dark but were very pleased with our achievement of 31 Multis in March on 1 March! We saw some amazing views and our travels took us to many spots we had never visited before.

We were out on a caching run today with McLookers, ST37E, Wozzle68 and Tomstache. We set ourselves the personal challenge of trying to find as many multis as we could in one day. We set off from Ballarat and headed into the multi rich territory that is Geelong. We had done our homework on as many as we could before hand and chose multis that we thought would be quick and achievable. It was crazy day that started in Ballarat at 6.30am and didn't finish until late in the evening. After a short calculation error, we corrected our mistake and made the find. Thanks for the hide Bushfire.
On a mission today to find 31 Multi-caches to complete a unofficial challenge and to log a recently challenge cache placed in Melbourne's western suburbs. In the company of fine bench of Ballarat caches we set off around 6:30 am and headed in the "general direction of Geelong where we all had plenty of targets to help us reach our goal. After much driving around we had 31 under our belts plush a few others, and we were off to Melbourne to sign the challenge cache. 15 hours later back in Ballarat feeling somewhat tuckered out but satisfied.
After a false start and a quick recalculation of the coordinates the cache was in hand and signed. A great short offset thanks!

Caching today with McLookers, Glanville Girls, ST37E and wozzle68, we left home when it was still dark and it was dark again when we got home. We covered a lot of area but we finished our challenge.

In spite of the cache notes I looked for this today while a regatta was on. The muggles eyes are all on the river and they were oblivious to my stealthy cache retrieval. I first visited this area in 1978 when I saw my school win the Head of the River, which used to be held on the Barwon. Today's regatta is the Morongo Regatta. It's just for young lady rowers and I'm here because my daughter is coxing an MLC crew. They're on in half an hour so I'll leave the lizards at GZ in peace now, and they can slither back to their sunbathing positions.
TFTC Bushfire, another great cache. Thankfully my maths was up to scratch today. At GZ noticed something a bit suspiciouse and soon had signing duties completed! Once again Bushfire, really enjoying the barwon cache series

This has been on our to do list for a while and today seemed like a good day to do it with no one in sight. Well until we got the co-ords worked out for GZ. Then a whole group of girls turned up for a game of dodge ball, hmm can we still get it? With their attention completely fixed on their game we quickly scouted out GZ and came up with the cache. Thanks Bushfire for the quick multi.

We enjoyed doing this interesting multi and fortunately our maths was ok this am and so we found the final co-ords were spot on and we soon had the cache in hand and log signed. The path is well used by muggles walkers and runners even on this cool morning!

TFTC Bushfire- we had admired the tree guards/ metal art many times in the past whilst messing about near the river on bikes and on foot. We came over from The Barwon Money Exchange to grab this as we rode home. A bit of co-ords for the maths on the back of the hand (note to self to keep little notepad even when on bike and phone battery nearly dead!) and the new waypoint was inputted and the cache found. No spiders for us, but a cool little lizard had set up home near by. Only a few rowers out today to watch as we signed the log..... still made for a bit of a spectacle as they battled with oblivious fisher folk on the opposite bank, with rowers getting inadvertently tangled in fishing lines!

Took fireman, left butterfly ring.
SL Thanks for the cache Bushfire.
It's the Monday of the Queen's Birthday weekend and Rebel Acts and I want to travel to Geelong to clean up all the caches north of the Barwon River. While we were not successful in getting them all we were able to find 50 caches at a rate of 1 cache every 10 minutes. We also had a chance meeting with Ballarat team HIGHROD just before they left for home.
On a few occasions we used the help of the self-proclaimed Geelong Geocaching HQ (Bushfire) to help us along the way. While the weather was cold, the pace was enough to see me caching in a t-shirt for most of the day and night, until the fog descended of course.
After a DNF on the missing cache, it was a quick find on the replacement.
A great time was had and some really good caches discovered. Thanks to the CO's for their efforts. We will return..

1st cache of the day =]
Didn't expect to have a day off today. So therefore had no plans and time on my hands, oh, what a perfect excuse to go caching!
This is on my close to home list so will be great to have a smiley on it.
So peaceful and pretty down here, relaxing!
Nice easy find on this day that is only really good for ducks & frogs, very well hidden though.
Time- 1pm.
Took- Red man.
Left- Green man.
Cheers & T.F.T.C!

After word that there was a problem with this cache a new 200ml container has been painted and placed today so all is good to go for Easter.
Due to garden maintenance this container has disappeared so it will be replaced ASAP.
Had this one solved a while ago. It was just a matter of getting a clean opportunity to make the grab. Today was the day!
