Try as we might, even with the help of a step stool provided by two old guys who were camping here, we did not see the cache. CO might want to check it, as our search was thorough and we are stubborn. Thnx for the stop tho, a familiar place to my companion but with a feature she didn't consider being here before. I'll take the story of this search back to NZ as one of my DNF's in Australia.
Campers around but the vegetation provided good cover. So many birds, including spoonbills. Fortnuately there was a strategic height aid. First find with Nanny and Poppy. Nice hide TFTC.
Heading to Cairns we make a short stop on this Place

Got muggled out of this one a couple of weeks ago but no such problem today and a quick find.
Who would have guessed this restful spot was here? A traveller's blessing! Easy find and no need for a leg-up as a table was conveniently placed TFTC SL.
I dropped in for a break from driving, had a coffee then wandered over to GZ.
There was a group picnicing nearby so I had to wait for an unobserved moment to nab the cache. Got it and signed the log, then waited for another opportunity to replace it without being seen. TFTC Cooroy Scouts

Found at 0943 With Marg. Marg spotted and retreiced this one but left it to me to replace it. Nice area away from most of the traffic near by. Decided it was time for a coffee after caching for about 3 hours. Cache OK and dry. TFTC.
I have stopped at the Matilda a number of times but I have never been to this part but I am sure to stop her in future. Luckily it was quiet and after a brief search the cache was located and the log signed. Thanks.
Found it but didn't sign log due to lack of writing implement. Good hide.

Found the cache but could not write in the log due to some grey nomads that appear to have made themselves at home right beside it. TFTC.
Found quickly, retrieval took a bit longer! Stopped here for lunch heading up to Bundy. Cheers!
Rated: for Overall Experience
GPSr had us on the wrong geobeacon for 10 minutes or so, We were after dark, so were using flashlight to search. Found some interesting places it could have been, but in the end I spotted it. Easy retrieval and replacement.

Unfortunately we didn't BYO ladder. Instead geodad had to lift me up - i think i've grown a bit since he last had to do that (about 15yrs ago!!!). FOUND! TFTC
Found: Used an implement to retrieve the cache and jumped to return it to its hiding spot.
I stopped briefly on my way north. Unfortunately I was without my caching partner-in-crime Justoid and his height probably would have helped! I didn't see the cache but got soaked in a downpour that came sideways under the only shelter! So, this time was a DNF.
Stopped for a quick bite to eat and a leg stretch on the way north. After grabbing some stuff to munch on we went for a little walk.
Had a bit of trouble retreiving the cache, but found an appropriate implement nearby (ie a stick) and had the cache in hand.

A quick find on a sweaty trip up to Eungella in a backpacker bus with no air. Thanks for the break!
Being tall has its advantages. Even so, this was a bit of a stretch.
Nice place to stop and fuel up on our way up north.

Found today on way home from a camping holiday. Stopped in for a cuppa and a rest and grabbed this cache as well. TFTC
What a really lovely picnin spot This was a bit of a marathon cache for us since we're both very short. It involved a car, a bonnet, lots of manoeuvring and a fair bit of clambering. But we managed to retrieve the cache and log it.
Oh no! All the intricate steps had to be followed in the correct order to replace the cache too of course. But it was fun

Pt. Douglas Trip 09.16. Another rest area with a muggle right at GZ. This time fishing ! Thanks. Albida
On the way to Bundaberg to visit some friends and thought it was a nice spot to stop and stretch the legs. Retrieved the cache by using makeshift tools using locally available materials. Worked quite well for retrieval but replacing it was a little trickier. TFTC.
Charlie and I are here from Oregon, USA visiting friends in Brisbane and Townsville and traveling the east coast for 6 weeks. GZ put is in the middle of the grass, so we extended our search area. Missed on the first pass, but eventually did spot it. We always carry official geocaching tools, and one of them helped us to retrieve and also to replace quite easily. Enjoyed the large lizard we spotted in the area. TFTFun
Easy to find, much harder to extract, but got it by giving Mrs yv a lift. Much easier to replace. The contents are a tight fit with the old log in place - really should be removed.

very tall son still couldn't quite reach so i had to put him on my shoulders and boost him up while not being spoted by a nearby mugle on the phone in his car god knows what he thought we were doing left a ring

Found at a pit stop North.
Had to be careful with all the defence people around.
GPS had me a little away but had to look twice to find it.

Kids needed a pit stop today, so we pulled up at the servo and the GPS said there wasa cache to be found. After a shot walk cache was found, and the good thing it was at my height, and no bending down required. Cache easily found and logged.
This is a great little for a quick refresh which I didn't know existed.

Had just come from a forest drive for another cache, watching the petrol gauge hovering just above empty, but just had to find this one first. Having read the logs, I had tossed up about bringing a stepladder but didn't - maybe a bit obvious, eh ... Brought a sturdy bucket instead. No chance. Having already tried the rubbish bin (some wag has thrown a cake of soap into a likely spot) I saw it was getting a bit fragile ... Aha, the car will fit there just nicely! So I finally headed to the pumps to find there'd been a power cut and there wasn't any petrol pumping.... aargh! TFTC cooroy scouts.
Found with crushernz and kids, easily found, but had to leave and comeback, as people were giving us some strange looks at a nearby table. Definately had to be tall for this one, we improvised and crushernz piggy backed me, lol......funny
Easy find but had to come back after a few other caches to retrieve and log with lisa nd co due to muggles at a near by table giving us strange stares
Boy this one needed something a bit taller than a milk crate,
a real tall mate is whats needed
it made it for an interesting Find anyway.

It was very early when we stopped off to look for this one. We had the place to ourselves, so we could have a thorough look.
The cache was quickly located, but accessing it proved a problem. As usual, we threw the GeoKid at the problem and it quickly disappeared
No swaps - thanks for the cache.

128 - Drove to near GZ and spotted a muggle playing with his dog in the area. Did a walk by and recon with Brissy Guy Junior spotting the cache quite easily. Walked over to the snack area of the rest stop and grabbed some refreshments hoping that the muggle and his dog would have returned to the highway by the time we got back to GZ. Unfortunately he hadn't but with a bit of good timing I had the cache out of its location without being noticed using a natural implement found nearby. Signed the log and returned it without trying to be seen again. It is certainly easier to remove than replace this one. TFTC cooroy scouts.
Found easily. surprised how open to the public eye it was. nice spot there though.

I found this one on the second try. At the first one I didn't read the listing and, without knowing what to look for, I couldn't find it. Then, after a coffee and a look at the listing, I went back and found it nearly instantly. A small branch of a tree helped me to retrieve and replace the cache.

We were also heading north for a whale of a time at Fraser Island with Duck and family. Thank goodness Duck is not vertically challanged so it saved me a trip back to the car for something to stand on. TFTC TNLN SL
Was 60m away from it but I was on a School band trip and there was too many muggles...at least 50
Leave this one for later

Found as part of our great whale of a time weekend away. We are heading to Hervey Bay for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. 8.15pm - 4 trailers happily sleeping as we snuck in and out. Lucky we are tall..
626 Had to get the trusty milk crate out of the back for this one - standard geocaching equipment in the 4by. TFTC cooroy scouts
Stopped for lunch on the way home from Brisbane to Bundy. Great spot to take a break. TFTC
Lovely place to fill up both ourselves and the bike. We did have to sit out a couple who were being extremely amourous (needing bed room) but got the cache in the long run. Signed Log. TFTC

Great spot to stretch the legs again, A long trip from Mackay to Brissy when ya 9 months preggy...but it will all be worth it...can't wait till junior is able to go geocaching. TFTC
Agree with last log, don't think this area gets used much. But in saying that great quite little spot to have a peaceful lunch or break.

On a road trip to Maryborough. Bee4 liked this one as he was able to retrieve the cache with a little help from his dad. It doesn't look like the picnic area gets too much use. Much easier to get take-aways. TFTC
Geolooney (me) headed off on own with GPS in hand while rest of geofamily bought fuel and argued over ice creams. I'm still wandering around in circles when geofamily turn up and with more eyes on the job, turn up the cache in a few minutes. Geohubby says it's lucky he's 6'2" and he forgot this fact as he jumped back in the car, only to be recalled to replace the cache! TNLNSL

Never realised the picnic ground was behind this busy highway stop. Found the cache easily and after a bit of head scratching, liberated it with the aid of an 8kg LPG cylinder. If you haven't been here, I bet that comment gets you thinking . TN/LN/SL and replaced with same LPG technique.
I've never noticed the very scenic road side stop before. Great spot for lunch! Thanks Cooroy Scouts.
This is always a good spot to rest and revive. I had attempted to find the cache on a previous stop but with no luck.
I left the wife and inlaws enjoying the break at 10pm and had another attempt. After reading previous logs, I was armed with equipment, which, in the end turned out useful.
Took a while to get the GPS to point me in the right area and then had to search a few other spots before coming to the right one. A deft flick and the cache was in hand. Putting it back was a bit of a balancing act but all was finally accomplished.

Uh ha, a vertically challenging cache. Thank goodness for gum trees and fallen sticks. After finding the cache, the right stick with a 'hookie' bit on the end, allowed for the extraction of the cache. Putting back the cache was going to be a challenge, but pulling over the rubbish bin wasn't an option. Back to the sticks..........
I waltzed in to "Matilda" to find out what was behind the tucker stop
There's a lot of stuff I haven't noticed before out there! I quickly located the area that hid the cache, but actually spotting the cache took a bit longer than it should have
The 'hooky stick' method worked for me as well. Ah! Great minds think alike
TFTC and a pleasant stroll in the rain today

What a nice location, didn't realise all this was here behind the facilities. Good hide. TFTF You may need a new log book soon
Great break from our journey. We searched the wooden structure with no success - then spotted it. Knocking it down was a little hard due to magnetic forces we broke a couple of sticks. Replacing it was even harder without a milk crate.

On our relocation drive from Canberra to Cairns and grabbing a few caches along the way. A quick grab on our long drive.
just ducked out to grab "Arrawatta" and scratch a DNF, when decided to grab a few more local caches that have all of a sudden started popping up around Gympie [^]

Our final cache for the day, and a good hide it was. I spotted it, but being of average height, we had to use other means than our fingers to grab it. Putting it back was even more of a challenge, but necessity is the mother of invention, and it is back safe. At sunset, this spot gets the most beautiful fiery-red glow on the water. Gorgeous.
