Checked in on this at the COs request. One of first finds!! Sistema is in perfect condition but log sheet was sodden. Have placed a bison with RIR roll inside the original container.
you might have to change the container and new paper its got water in it and add a pencil
I happily discovered this Oldie on my journey around Gympie looking for caches this weekend. It wasn't on my original hit list but I'm on my way to a multi and this was en route so I had to find it. I drove up close by, and was happy that the area was clear of people. Following the geotrail was simole, and the cache was found quickly and easily, however it was waterlogged and the log sheet inside the Ziploc bag is pretty soggy. I dried it out as best I could and got my name written on the log sheet, then closed it up and returned it as I found it.Hopefully the next person might have some supplies to update the cache container and log. as mine have run out.
Tyftc found it with Fynn , geocaching today on a nice autumn morning . Log will need replacing and cache is filled with water
dahumbug I found your cache Centenary Park on 9/4/2024, 11:35AM. This is my find 6522 and find # 6 today. Found a way to drive close to GZ. Once there it wasnt long before the log was being signed. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Great to tick of another off the 1000 oldest Qld caches. Thanks for placing and maintaining
Our first find in 2024 on a visit to Gympie GPS was wobbly but we got there. TFTC
This one was quite fun to find, in a cool location. Traded the rock for 50c . Thanks Sweet-Sour
After spending the night in town and dining out at the local pub it was time to get out and do colorectal the local area. I am working on a local challenge at home that requires cache numbers in Local government areas and so I need another 80 or so in the Gympie area. This area is rich with caches so off I go. Arriving at ground zero I found a safe place to park the geowagon and off I go. I quickly found ground zero and located the cache. After extracting the log and making my mark I quickly returned to the geo wagon in search of my next adventure.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.Cheers
Mrs Woodyrothwell and I are making our way to Bundaberg for an extra long weekend after she was given some time off in lieu for all the extra curricular activities she runs at school. The first stop as always is the Gympie Maccas for the facilities and a coffee. When the bypass finally opens we dont know what we are going to do with ourselves. We had a quick check to see if there were any older caches around and were rewarded. A quick up and down and twisty drive that Gympie is famous for and we were at GZ. I wonder if any of the kids that live in town own a bicycle because I wouldnt be surprised if they vetoed their parents decision to ride to school. After finding the cache I gave the wheel to my wife to drive the next leg while I could write a log. Gone are the days when I need to be macho and chauvinist and do all the driving. I need to let her drive me more places than to and from the pub. tftc
We looked way too long around the wrong side and made it far more tricky then it needed to be.
We stood back and saw something a little out of place. Got ya!!! TFTC!

3/6/2023 Find #6149
Today Fangsoki and I decided to head to Gympie to visit his parents. With a little time to kill as they were still out on their own mission, we had enough chance for me to head here for this nice old cache.
I searched and searched the likely GZ, but to no avail. Just as I was starting to lose hope, I spied it right out in the open full of water. Sadly the log soaked, and unfortunately we were in Fangsoki’s work car so had no spare caching equipment with us to repair with. Managed to make my mark and replace in likely hiding spot.
Thanks for the cache cooroy scouts, and keeping this one going Sweet-Sour.

I was up on the Sunshine Coast chasing oldies. Some by 4wd, some just park and grab. I had a good out.
6 where found today, most were easy. Then quick drive home.

Chasing a few of the old caches on my way to Maryborough. This was the third oldie we caught in the Gympie area before getting back on the road. Somehow missed the entrance but the walk to stretch the legs was appreciated. Thanks to the cooroy scouts and sweet - sour for keeping this oldie active, my second from the same team today.
Thanks for the cache, all looks to be okay, though the containers lid is cracked. But is still protected from water for now.
I was here some months back but found nothing at the time. I saw that it had been replaced so came by today with Karicka for a quick find. Thanks for the cache
Doing the yearly round trip
Wet in here this morning, the new cache is doing really well

D 1.5 T 1.5 Small Traditional Cache
On the way home, caching alone after the Widgee event and finding Bendy Black with Gur for my 5th loop. So high I could do anything!
Quick easy find for this oldie!

Well, finally the weather has decided it will allow us a few days of dry camping (not totally dry, there WILL be a few lagers involved! ).
Our target area is Gympie and a few rural spots northwest.
Found the half-hearted throwdown cache AND the original.
Took pathtag & removed fake cache as really it was only litter!
Made our mark & replaced as found.

This is not the container, look in the stump.
Any more logs on/in this one will not be recognized as a find.

Found what appeared to be a cache container at the GZ. As others mentioned, it was a bit empty, so I signed a Bunnings receipt that is full of good intentions (my wall is still not painted with the purchases on there). We had a good search to confirm there was no other container. TFTC!
