There is really only one location it could be and we even bought in the 'special equipment' to carefully scrutinise area - definitely not there.

Another DNF to add to the list. Maybe the owner or a local could check it out.

With no hint for this cache we were quite uncertain with this one. After a bit of a look see a Goal muggle was a bit too inquisitive so decided to head to the wrong side of the tracks.

Thought we had this one in the bag. No one around. But alas could not find the cache even though we were looking in a fairly obvious location.

Ventured up to this one from Wrong Side of The Tracks and had it in hand in no time. Thanks for bringing us here.

Found this one after the walk up from Wrong side of the tracks.
I have lived in Maitland all my life and had never seen this side of the jail.

Thanks for giving me a reason to come up here Smile

Well we came back through full of confidence and a bit more experienced in caching. GPS took us to the same spot so we spent more time looking.....nothing! Zip! Zilch! Zero! again!
What are we doing wrong!

Kids and I were disappointed....couldn't find it! Was our first cache hunt on our own (without our mate bommy!) Came up with nothing! Oh well....will try on the way back through!Sad

No muggles around, so this was an easy find despite a small coordinate difference.

Thanks!

Found after a short search at 0940hrs. I've always wanted to know where the entrance to this gaol was and now I know. I'll have to return for a gaol tour.

A nice easy one to start the day. It's been many years since I was up Maitland way.

The container had picked up some icky brown sticky stuff on the outside, which I endeavoured to wipe off on the grass.

T: watch
L: 2 toys

Enjoyed the area around this one. We recognised the jail from Home and Away and we were on our toes waiting for someone to ask "what are you flamin' galahs doing"?[:o)]
Luckily no one saw us and it was a nice quick find. TFTC

Out for a few late night caches after the state of 'O'. Dodged the road closures and made our way to this one. Found this one easily. Cache was all dry. TNLN Thanks

Found this cache on our NSW cache sweep in company with Mr Cooroy Scouts.

Was a spooky find this one, being near midnight when we actually located the cache.

Thanks for a quick and easy cache TNLN

This was our first find of the day. Very nice park with lots of room for the kids to have some fun.

22-Apr-07
We had a couple of hours to wait for our steam train trip to Newcastle so we decided to grab a few "Team Yota" caches.
Thanks very much. Signed log.

An easy find by the geocaching (relative) newbie who was with me. Smile

Well I was standing there and saw the tell tale signs of a cache.

This was my second attempt - first time a few weeks ago was in the rain at night without a GPS so not surprisingly I struggled.

Got it easy this time, brought a TB to swap but it was too big to fit, so left a green plastic transparent dinosaur instead. Thanks for the hunt and bringing me here, twice. Smile

First find of the day.

While I was busy kitting out the little Rats in their gear (they love gadgets and gizmos as much as me), Mrs Rat went walking off with the GPS and waited near the cache with a knowing smile on her face. Cheeky woman!

The kids had some fun, with Baby Rat latching onto the soft-toy that was outgrowing it's home, and Little Miss Rat decided to take her first travel bug pickup for a trip in the car.

Nanna Rat was along for the day, and told us about a days jury duty in the court house, telling the kids about why this cache was called Naughty.

A nice, quick, simple cache to start the day.

Thanks.

(PS: unlike BSF's log entry below, I was able to sharpen the pencil with a small pocket knife, giving a slightly neater appearance than BSF's denture work could provide)

a quick run this arv with BSFjnr to drop of the Seal of Approval TB I picked up in Kiama last week. The cache needs maintenance already - the pencil lead was broken and I didn't have a pen in the car. Had to temporarily sharpen the pencil with my teeth!

I'm off to the Terrace tomorrow so i'll drop in and give it a proper sharpen Yota.

Good hide, although now very very cramped for room.
