A trip to Melrose is usually filled with a mixture of ourdoor pursuits - camping, hiking, mountain bike riding and of course, finding the occasional cache.
Today, ww targeted some of the caches around the trails - A cache is always a good excuse to stop and rest! Found with the Kelton Krew.

Out for a ride and a few caches on the way. A good excuse to stop and rest! TFTC
Our family's first ever geocache! A nice challenge and a lovely walk to find it. Thankyou.
Few muggles on bikes nearby so had time to admire the amazing view before grabbing this one. Great spot. TFTC
Almost 11 months since a last find. Made the scramble up the gully to grab this on. Solid container. Log signed.
A big hike up a couple hills with the kids for the first day of school holidays! TFTC
Day 8
Going from Whyalla to Melrose. I stopped in port augusta on the way through and did a 11.2 km return kayak. The tent is now up and too early for tea, so i decided to go for a walk. I looked at the map and saw these 3 caches in a straight line, i assumed that they where on the same track. so i set off from the trail head and soon learnt that i was wrong. i bush bashed in my flip flops to the cache. It wasn't my best idea but i did get there.

Day twenty one of my across the Nullarbor, then to Perth via Denmark trip. Unfortunately I was now on my way back home after a great couple of weeks getting to Perth, I guess it had to happen at some point. I am now really close to the end, but not before attend the June Long Weekend events in Wirrabara.
I decided to spent the day in Melrose and surrounds. A great walk in the hills this afternoon.
**Thanks to MPS2006 for the cache. TNLN**

If there is an easy way and a hard way, I always seem to take the hard way. Thanks for the cache.

After 'Rocky Religion 2,' every cache feels like it's down the hill [:o)].
Came overland from Don's Summit (on foot) to this one, the heat and humidity already draining our resources . TNLNSL.
It was a good feeling to be heading back to home base [)].
Thanks again MPS2006.

A journey up hill to find this one but worth it - great cache container, exactly what we were expecting. Thank you
We made this a lot more difficult than it needed to be, but really enjoyed the experience and the views - thanks for the cache.

After visiting the Cliffhanger cache we decided to go for a bit of a hike to this one which didn't seem to be too far away. [?] Well, the way we approached it made it much more difficult than it needed to be. We went along the hill, down the hill, up the hill, along the hill again and eventually arrived at GZ. It was a good hike though and we were rewarded with some pretty spectacular views and of course a cache as well.
Thanks for the cache MPS2006.

We took the direct route up, much further than we first thought! Spotted some big Roos. Great view. Tftc.
Found after going bush at first to get to gz....found cache near a trail lol. Tftc
TFTC was worried it was actually at the bottom of the hill but we were right on track! Blustery day up the mount left a girlie doll much to the disgust of my two GeoMasters!
A quick find after a little walk along the track, on a rainy day, which just added to the experience, the track was a little slippy. What a magnificent place, all the native flowers in blossom, snap a few photos. Thank for the cache, a favourite point from us. Many Thanks SL.
An easy find. Was not covered well, so we fixed that... but still not hard to find for a cacher ;c) TFTC!!
found it. We went to the top of the hill in the car and was going to look for it that way but decided to go down the bottom and walk up the gully. I think the top of the hill would have been the easier way but it was a lovely day for a walk anyway. TFTC
Riding the Mawson Trial form Blinman to Adelaide, finding a few caches on the way. Several here while waiting for the fantastic bike shop here to repair our bikes.
A quick find while on a walk back from Rocky Religion 2 cache at Cathedral Rocks. TFTC.
Nice to see such a large cache, theyre getting rare these days. Thanks for a great cache.
On my holiday trip from Perth to Sydney, I have found this cache quickly.

I was NOT expecting what I found here. Cool project for the Primary School, and wonderful to keep the kids involved in something outdoors. All in great shape.

Found whilst out caching with two of our grandies, Tacker 1 and Tacker 4, and their muggle mum. We were having a few days camping at Melrose, and so the caching added to our enjoyment. Muggle mum soon started to enjoy the hunt.
Just the kids and grandparents on this occasion. At one stage we had two limber kids up a very steep hill and a Grandma with dickie knees at the bottom. So Grandpa was sent up to get them under control (safer than trying to get them to come down) while I inched my way up.
Thank you for the adventure (it rained most of the way back - along the track this time).

Wow, now that was quite a steep walk in the rain with 3 boys; found it though. Great view down the main road into Melrose.
margladbeck and I found this cache during our nature walk tour. Thanks for placing and taking us there.
I had taken a newly hooked geocacher (found his first cache last night when out with me: Cliffhanger) and two muggles with me this morning to Ripples in Time. Then we drove to the memorial (I had done the cache there last night) so that we could see the view.
The female muggle then said 'come one, we are only 200odd meters away, let's get it since we are here.' So off we headed. Straight down, then along, then under a fence then up until finally we were somewhere in the vicinity. These words do not convey the effort involved in this walk!
Newbie geocacher made the locus cache and oh, what pride was evidenced in the smiles of all 3 when they held the cache in their hands (see pic).
After resting while SL, it was time to reverse the process but the journey was sooo much quicker because we knew where we were going this time
Mind you, we are sure there must be an easier way into this cache due to the 2 star terrain rating but we did not find that!
