Didnt find it on the way to the falls, but thought about it and had another go on the way back and found it. Drained water out of main box, inner log was still dry but wet pen made it hard to sign but I did my best. Thanks for the cache
Not by me, but by the extremely helpful Dutch_Kiwis! Can't thank you enough! My health still hasn't allowed me to walk up to this hide, which is located in such a beautiful place. Now it's in good condition again and ready for more finders.
Spending a long weekend in the Blue Mountains, what an amazing area! Was contacted by the CO to help with the maintenance of this one, after finding a few of his other caches earlier. This one wasn't on my radar but I decided to give it a go this morning. Did not regret that at all: hiddem gem out here! Much less crowded than the main sites but easily as beautiful with the cliffs and waterfall. After some scrambling around GZ I was able to find the container, a bit higher up than I expected. Indeed there was water inside and hence a soaked log book. So I have placed a smaller container + dry log sheet inside for all to use until the larger container has been replaced. Happy caching!Tftc & fp for this one!
Had to make the trip to the falls quick because our dog was too scared to go down the last exposed metal stairs so had to go down on our own
Got stabbed by quite a few plants but got there in the end before heading down and plunging into the icy waters. The log book is drenched but signed as best I could.
Phone battery low, however I shall find the cache via geosenses once near GZ. Ah, a sodden log so I carefully wrote my log in. Cant leave either of TBs Canadian Flag and Swiss Duck as box too wet.
The challenge today was trying to get the little one to walk a few walks without them noticing that we were doing some walks. The walk to the falls was the second walk of the day and thankfully it was challenging enough without being too challenging. As we passed near this GZ we decided to stop for a look. The coordinates are spot on - which was nice. The cache was a bit like the falls nearby though. TFTC pjmpjm
Great morning walk with the geopup - she had to be carried down the steps but she’s not fully grown yet and it so it wasn’t too hard. Next year might be tricky. At the bottom, we had the falls to ourselves - a bit later and a swim would have been on.
As to this one, the co-ords are good but as recent finders have noted, it is soaking wet. I took a photo. Thanks pjmpjm - a favourite from me.

I'm going to try to get out to this one soon and do cache maintenance. Sorry about the delay.
I’ve been working in Katoomba the past few weeks and grabbing some caches while I’m in the area
I’m working not far away and I’m now on my way home and wanted to grab this and check out Minihaha Falls
I want to earn the Wheel of Challenges souvenirs, having earned the 2day streak, I’m now aiming to earn the 7 day streak.
I wasn’t expecting to scramble quite this far up but I found it where the coordinates said.
The container had about 2cm of water in it the contents including the notepad in the ziplock bag are totally water logged and unable to sign. I wish I had of come to this one sooner and I could have performed some maintenance on it. But will need to leave that in the hands of the CO.
No pony leaving a piece of paper to sign as it will be wet in the container so I was unable to completed the formalities. I will attach a photo of cache.

Thank you for your cache otherwise I would not have seen these beautiful falls.

Was very blind at first, found in the end. Dodging many muggles while leaving and entering the trail.

A quick find due to accurate coordinates and a great hint.

Cache was full of water and log satched so couldn't sign have emptied out the water and put log in liplock bag
Thanks for the cache
The cache was full of water and could do with a maintenance.
I ve emptied it but had nothing to really dry it. The notepad although in a plastic bag is damp.

Tftc - easy find a nice walk down on a rainy day now down to have a nice cold swim
We finally made it out to this lovely area, thanks to this cache. With the recent rain, all the small creeks and the main creek were flowing quite well. Several scenic cascades to view as we walked along. The Minhehaha Falls were beaut. The cache was found after leaving the tourist track with only 20m to GZ displayed on our etrex. An obvious geotrail, up a short and sharp climb. Great coords and hint made for a quick find. Yes, the views from here were also very good. The logbook was a little damp, still easy to write in. Placed the logbook into a spare snaplock bag that I was carrying. It is now double bagged to help protect it. TFTC pjmpjm. We appreciate the placement of a cache in such a nice location. A FP
Found after a refreshing swim in the waterfalls! Very nice area!! Thanks for the cache!!!
Ps: It needs some maintenance (there was water in the container).

We've been to the Blue Mountain many times but never to these falls! Can't believe we haven't done this sooner. Even tho it's been dry ish recently the falls had plenty of flow.
As for the cache, scrambled up, then up again to the less obvious from the path overhang where it was an easy, but scratchy find. Even though in a bag, log book is soaked. Probably needs replacing and a watertight container.

Quite an easy find in an area we have not explored in years, but living in such a large LGA gives us plenty of scope for walking during these covid times. Cache is in good condition. Signed and replaced. Thanks pjmpjm for placing the cache in this wonderful area.

The family always likes an afternoon walk whilst we're up here, and the question was put to me where to go today.... This one sounds good - 'it's a relatively easy walk' - 'relative to what?' they asked.... How would I know?
Anyway, they all agreed and we parked and set off. The first little creek crossing slowed the grandparents down, but we got there, then the mud slowed them down until Gran pulled up a pew and waited for us to return.
The GPS counted down - '10 metres mate' - we read the hint and knew where to go. A fairly easy scramble up, the spiky bushes bothering the young fella more, and the cache was spotted under the tell-tale SPOR. Unfortunately it was all swimming in brown water, the log was just damp in its waterproof bag. We drained out as much as we could, but we couldn't do that much. The container probably needs changing, and the log needs a sub-container, I think water flows through this overhang in the wet.
Samuel and I shed the rest of the party at the descent, and we headed down to the falls. Luckily, they all gasped at the ladder/step photos we showed them later on. This is a spectacular spot, and a fun walk - I'd recommend it highly. TFTC!

Found today on a small cache drive with my Dad and some family, had a really nice time walking out to this one. Due to the lookout being closed though, and also the feeling of incompletion, we walked on down to the bottom of the falls. It was very worth it!

After checking in for UTA100 this morning Dean and I decided to check out a few places around town. This waterfall is only 1.5km from our accommodation so we took the opportunity to duck on down in the afternoon.
Ripper location! Glad we took the time to walk down. I continued on to the bottom while Dean decided to save his legs for all the stairs tomorrow.
Thanks for the cache! Giving this one a FP for the cool location

Australia day weekend, and a hot and sunny day. We wanted to do a short hike to Mine-Ha-Ha Falls for a picnic and a swim in the cold mountain water. But upon arrival at the car park it was clear we were not the only one with that idea. The trail was busy and when we reached the waterhole there was hardly a rock available to put down a towel. There must have been almost 200 people not socially distanced around the beautiful waterhole. So, no soaking up serenity and listening to the sound of the birds and waterfall. Instead lots of shouting, talking and loud music.
I did went in the water for a swim and to cool down, but after hanging around for half an hour we decided to go back up.
After climbing the stairs I was close to the cache, and a short scramble a bit higher up quickly revealed the cache. Unfortunately the logsheet was very wet, so a photo log instead.
Great location, outside weekends and school holidays it will be even better!

Chose a cache after a nice breakfast in leura and this one fit the bill nicely. Water flowing well at the falls after recent rains. Cache a bit wet still but log ok. Tftc.

Enjoyable walk down to the falls, lots of water flowing, wonderful spot. Found this on the way back, a small scramble up the slope and the cache was found easily. It was very wet so dried out the container and took some of the contents out that were rusty and unusable. Log very wet, needs a bit of tlc.
Thank very much

Thought we’d have look for this one as quite close by. Had a bit of a bush scrabble but didn’t stray to far from the path. Couldn’t find it and couldn’t figure out how to get to where we neededto
I'm fairly sure that this cache hasn't been muggled, but will try to walk up there soon and have a check. It's hidden not far off the track and shouldn't be particularly difficult for experienced geocachers, but conditions there may have changed. I guess anything is possible.
We really wanted to find this one as it had been unloved for more than a year, and I was like a jackrabbit, up and down, climbing through the bushes, looking under rocks and climbing up and down for at least 15 mins. After a few cuts and scrapes, it was time to pull the pin. The path has shifted since 2016 so wondering if the description or hint need to be adjusted slightly as I looked at all possible places but still came up empty. The area is quite lovely (especially Minne Ha Ha falls!) I am sure we’ll be back to find this one day!
Had wanted to do this one for some time but was hampered by the Mini Ha Ha Falls track being closed by Blue Mountains Council. So thought I would try another way. Drove to the locked gate at the end of Twelfth Ave Nth Leura and followed the fire trail until a left hand turn shortly after took me down another fire trail. Picked up a foot pad at about S33 41.090 E150 19.820 which took me quite close to GZ. A bush bash is required for the last little bit. I'm a birdo and this area was great for birdwatching. Log was damp but still managed to sign. TFTC pjmpjm.
We parked the car, strapped on a backpack and strided to the track, where we found a sign stating that the track is closed for maintenance until further notice. When we got home this afternoon, we checked the NPWS website, but couldn't find any information about this closure.
Quiet far off the track in an area with a lot of wildlife. Nonetheless we found it.
So far seen on this trip: Thailand, New Zealand and Australia.

After a semester abroad in New Zealand, I travel around Sydney and the blue mountains with MMXX now. There are plenty of amazing spots to discover.
Thanks for placing a geocache here and sorry that I keep my logs short.

I'd last visited this waterfall in the late 90s and always thought it was one of the best in the Blue Mountains. Today we had time for a bit of a walk after our urbex further away so came by to do this walk. Quite a few people out today and many were hanging out below GZ taking photos near the precipitous edge. We headed up and the geoteen made a quick find. Log is very damp but you can find dry enough pages in there to sign. Even so it's not getting drier in the plastic so needs a bit of TLC. Replaced as it was and headed down to the falls.
What a great spot this is, wonderful falls and a big deep pool plus a dangerous rope swing. Some parents with their tribe of young boys were there and the boys took turns in doing increasingly dangerous and hare-brained stunts on the swing while the father just encouraged them by taking photos. I'm no helicopter parent but this was the opposite extreme! Luckily one of them didn't fall headfirst onto the rocks. The water would probably have given them hypothermia today too.
Great place. Thanks!

After deciding we were ill equiped to tackle the nearby Daylight cache this one was our backup cache. In saying that this cache is a star in its own right.
The walk in is beautiful as you follow the creek and are presented with great views. We made a small detour on the way down and the cache was found in good order.
Afterwards and braving the May weather i celebrated with a quick swim and i mean Quick, i swear that water is so close to ice. As i thawed out we enjoyed exploring the area and then headed off along the same track in very happy cachers.
Thanks

I had a nice day starting with a trip through Rennies tunnel, and some caches to find afterwards. The clouds started to release their load as they had been threatening all day on my walk to this cache.
The waterfall was a great sight, which I focussed on while waiting for some muggles to pass before climbing up to the cache.
The cache was a bit wet inside, but the log was in reasonable condition.
I took the trackable from within.
Thanks for the cache.

this one was for my geocaching road trip and has more than 10 fav points, ill be adding one too. I don't know why I didn't get this last time when I came down to check out the falls which were lovely today. I thought I'd have the area to myself this afternoon but I saw some folks around of course 2 of them were sitting 5 m from the cache!!! so off I went to check out the views that abound in this area until they left. on returning 10 min later I was alone so clambered up the rocks, managing to get a wet backside and scaring myself by nearly falling back down but eventually I reached gz. the log is a bit damp but nothing worth worrying about yet. I left a tb I'd picked up recently in Caloundra to continue its journey. tftc pjmpjm
Tftc, great place, took awhile longer than i had hoped but found it i did. Thank u muchly
Easy walk down path to final 5 metres. Didnt need to bush bash, just climbed up. Wonderful area, worth a fav point. Cache in good order. Tftc

After finding '4 Kings' and 'at Loggerheads' we still felt like a bit of a walk before heading down to Sydney. We left the car at the end of the 'Mini Ha Ha' street (really like the name) and thoroughly enjoyed our way pass the waterfalls. What a gorgeous piece of nature! Thanks pjmpjm!
Walked along the track and chose the best path to reach GZ. Retrieved the cache and signed the logbook. Great view of the waterfall and valley below!! Favourite point from me

I had time for one more quick cache before heading off to the Geocaching NSW walking event at Katoomba, and after parking in the designated car park, I followed the easy trail to GZ. As I arrived to within 10m of GZ still on the trail, I was wondering where on earth you would have to go to have to 'bush bash' 62m to get to the cache as the cache page suggests!!! A quick search soon revealed the cache...and then it was back to the car.

If you're familiar with Blue Mountains conditions, this geocache will bring few surprises.
However, novice bushwalkers and geocachers should take care, because there are edges nearby (as is common all around the Blue Mountains). It's easy to slip and fall around here. However, the actual cache placement area is safe enough.
The 62 metres of bush bashing, after you leave the trail, might well prove tiring and disorienting if you're not used to this sort of thing, so consider the task carefully if you're bringing your geo-family and geo-kids along.
Maybe not the best intro to geocaching for newbies. Have just added half a star in the Terrain ratings, due to the rampant re-growth in the area.

Walked out to this beautiful place in North Katoomba today with rogerw3 and found the cache properly in place, but a bit wet. It's a mystery how it could have got so damp in its secure and dry hiding place, housed in a high quality container.
But wet it was . . . though the original nice Banksia777 log book was well protected by an excellent waterproof map bag.
I had brought an extra container and log book along, but decided to simply dry things out and retain John's original distinctive log book, which wouldn't have fit into the new container. Some swaps were damaged and so I took them away.
The trail out to GZ was a bit damp in places and, as always, not always easy going, but the views are worth it, especially as you approach the Falls.
A hint: stay on the main trail until you're 62 metres from GZ and only then veer uphill and to the right. If you veer right earlier, you'll have a much longer bush bash, for no good reason. If you keep going further, you'll have a fairly steep scramble up, up, up to the hiding place.
That 62 metres of bush bashing from the trail turn off isn't easy and is probably not suitable for geo-kids or inexperienced people. There's nothing there that's terribly dangerous by Blue Mountains standards, but this cache isn't a quick pick up, like in the suburbs. You'll have to work for it. Stay away from the cliff edges and some short but sharp drops. It's easy to trip and stumble when there's no trail.
The actual hiding place will involve a scramble 'down' that needs care and common sense.
Anyhow, all is well now and I hope others will enjoy the scenery in this relatively little visited spot.
Thanks to rogerw3 for his help and support.

There is quite moisture in the cache and everything inside is completely wet. We didn't have so much time to wait for drying in the sun rays. It would be checked and optionaly dried.
Found during the trip in Katoomba's neighbourhood. The waterfalls was beautiful with its little pond, TFTC.
been meaning to go down to these falls for years, I had almost forgotten how lovely they were. TFTC

Walked some 960 metres out here from the convenient car park, together with rogerw3, to allow him to log the cache and for me to do some maintenance. I also wanted to check on the accuracy of the published coordinates.
This is an even better walk than I remembered from two years ago. Towards the beginning there are about 300 metres of ordinary (though still quite nice) trail trekking, but then you get closer to the bubbling stream and finally come into the 'canyon' area where the Falls are situated. The 'Laughing Waters' name (chosen by Banksia777) is especially appropriate.
Here's a tip . . . when you're 65-70 metres away from GZ, leave the trail to your right, and head upwards. I've included a 'spoiler photo' of the recommended three-way intersection. You'll have to bush bash slightly upwards from this point, but it's easier to go up here than later. Finally, you'll descend about 10-15 metres to reach GZ. As you bash along, you'll see the trail running below you.
Please don't do anything dangerous. Some care is needed around GZ (as in many places in the Blue Mountains) but you don't need to risk live and limb to reach the hiding spot, which ought to be fairly obvious when you finally see it. Watch the geo-kids once you leave the trail. I have to say that the the final 65-70 metres really isn't suitable for the younger ones. There are a couple of spots where you could have an unpleasant slide and fall.
Thanks very much to 'The Old Sod' for his very comprehensive cache maintenance. We found everything in excellent order and TOS did a magnificent job in upgrading an old water-logged geocache.
I moved on one TB but otherwise just wrote in the log and replaced everything as I found it. Lots of swaps are still available. I upgraded the terrain rating to a 'three' and changed the coordinates very slightly.
If you want to walk down to the old fenced 'lookout' area, be careful on the short side trail, off the main trail. There are at least two spots (completely unfenced) which are pretty dangerous. Once you get to the fenced area, you're OK, but I wouldn't recommend bringing children here unless they're very, very closely supervised. However, all is OK and relatively safe if you stay on the mail trail.
Of course, after finding the cache, you may want to actually walk down to the Falls, which is a couple of hundred metres further on.
Thanks again to the late John Masser for encouraging us all to walk to this great place!

Well third time's the charm!
Went back today with the CO who wanted to do some maintenance. I can see now that last time I stopped looking about 2 metres too early!
No excuses I should have known better, Great view from the cache.
Thanks to John and now pjmpjm for the cache, very enjoyable.

After reading Rog's Log I can confirm the co-ords I had were pretty spot on. It is almost exactly 20m from where you leave the track... but you dont leave in a straight line There is more than slight scrambling but it can be accessed safely. Push past where your GPS says to go straight up and come back on the cache from further along the path for an easier access
Another great Pjmpjm cache for the day... we sure did a few! You can tell this was a great one as I am so far behind in my logs I am cutting and pasting most but had to write something here to express my thanks. Beautiful falls, shame we didnt have time to make the bottom. This one took us quite a while and left Zal grumbling... but I think he actually loved it too

SLIGHT SCRAMBLE?! O-o hahaha
Zhaoy and I will both attest this is a misleading comment We have a great walk to GZ and the views of the falls are awesome. Track condition is fair, only a little mud to contend with. We spent a good amount of time next to the track up and down the "slight scramble" with no luck. The co-ords were what pushed me further. Despite the fairly clear skyline above the track-side scramble was still a good 10m away from Zero so eventually I decided to head up the much more significant scramble and we found the cache well hidden, but much higher up than anticipated. The description is accurate, it is about 20m from where you leave the path. Just dont try to take the most direct route
No time for heading all the way down to the base of the falls today, but still an awesome cache. Cheers!

Rated: for Overall Experience
After 5 days in bed I felt well enough to go for a walk and this cache is still there, after a DNF in its original position, where i could see it but did not feel suicidal at that time so did not go for it then!
Unfortunately this time around my 2 GPSr put GZ in a very dangerous spot right over the edge of a big rocky ledge, tried to go below to check but the footing proved very treacherous indeed and after slipping twice and barely getting hold of some shrubs I thought that was enough. Beside there is no mobile reception there so if you fall the 10 metres straight down onto the hard track it may not kill you but you will surely break some limbs.
So either the coords are off or the definition of 'without danger' needs some tweaking!

Toriaz and I had DNFed pjmpjm's nearby cache "Oh Brother" (needlessly it turns out) and wanted a cache to reward our long drive to the upper mountains from Rouse Hill. This was an easy walk in, with the landscape getting more impressive as we approached the cache. There were huge drops to the left of the trail as we got about half way to the cache. We commented that we were glad we weren't doing this one at night.
I spoke to pjmpjm after we had completed the cache. He tells me there was some element of danger in the original hide. But there's no problem with the current location. I figured out easily where the cache should be and found it in the second place I looked.
The falls here are quite impressive, despite their relatively small size. The chasm that they tumble into is also quietly impressive. We didn't walk down to the bottom of the track, but I imagine that it would be worth a trip down to look at the falls from below, if you had time. Thanks pjmpjm for keeping this cache going.

#1035 & my 97th consecutive day of caching
Caching in the upper Mountains had been my suggestion for the day, but first we needed to drive to Rouse Hill for bikerbuddy to make a milestone find.
This one gave us some fun to get to, the GPS took us down the wrong street at first, we then entered the suggested parking coordinates & it directed us to another wrong street. Finally we used logic & just followed Minnihaha Road to the end .
Great walk down to this one, and bikerbuddy spotted a likely spot to search as we got near. I looked at one level while he looked at another level, and he got to call out that he'd found it.
Thanks for keeping a great old cache going pjmpjm .

This is my first Cache in years. Keeping with tradition I made it the closet one to my house. Recently moved to the area so looking forward to visiting more local caches and perhaps adding some more of my own !!!! Love the location was a fairly easy find with a faint track leading right to it ( Mind you I have pretty keen eye for where people are walking ) Great to see you have kept these going pjmpjm an excellent way to see the area through someone else's eyes !!! TNLN
This venerable cache is now fixed up and ready to go again, thanks to the much appreciated efforts of TOS!
TOS is fixing this one up for me.
(Many thanks again, TOS!)
Will re-enable the listing when everything is back in place.

Hi pjmpjm, Banksia,
First cashe for ages and the first since my knee surgery, so SWEET!!!!
The falls were still pumping after the rains and were very popular today, I counted over 25 Muggles while I was there so had to be careful approaching GZ. Found the cashe easily.
Unfortunately the lid was not secure and the cashe was inundated, so Ive taken it home to dry off. I am local so I will return it next weekend unless you would prefer to collect and return yourself.
This is a first: "Took everything, left nothing"
Cheers TOS

I,ve checked the contents and most will have to go to the Big Cashing site in the sky, they are rusted or covered in mold. The container looks ok, I will laminate the 'You have found' note.
The survivors will be reinstated and I have added some others to make up for the loss.
So I have added: Some keyrings, small Biners [not for climbing], a set of earphones, a cycle computer and a Digital Compass [without instructions].
Once the log book is dry, I will return all to QZ. [I have put in a dry bag to protect it, this is not a swap item].
Cheers. TOS

Nice falls. It was a hot day when I wenr to search for this cacge and a good number of people were going to the falls for a swim
Good view of the falls. Bit of an awkward ascent, but managed okay.
Thank you pjmpjm.
