An enjoyable long weekend caching with friends around the Southern Tablelands.Quick find in a beautiful location. Fun multi. TFTC tanitag79!
A cool and fun day of caching around the Central Tablelands. This cache was a straightforward find in the obvious location. Container and log in good condition. Thanks!
Tftc tanitag79 I worked this one out wrong. But checking the comments, I managed to figure out where the cache was. Signed and replaced. Left a guard to look after the cache
We are on a ten-day road trip from Sydney around the Central West. A busy walking, geocaching and eating day in Orange for us today. We ended up in this lovely Botanic Garden on a crisp, sunny autumn afternoon. Mr Gaztek sketched while Mrs G collected the waypoints. Didnt need her watch to tell here how long it was taking. Great multi in nice place. A favourite for us. SL TFTC Cheers Gaztek
Whenever we start a weeks holiday the first thing we always do is go straight to the tourist information centre. We want the maps and pamphlets and also the chance to talk to someone working there who is just dying to talk to anybody. At the start of this week we rocked in, had our ears chewed off, but were also given a pamphlet on the botanic gardens. I did read the pamphlet and took note that there was a cafe here. This morning we had driven out to Canowindra because it was in another pamphlet and were also taught how to correctly pronounce the name. Clearly she didnt want the locals complaining that the lady from Orange had sent some tourists out without giving them they way to stay on their good side.On the drive back we thought it would be good to visit this cafe for lunch. There are two things that dont go together and they are the words restaurant and botanic gardens. Never has this combination turned out well until today. We first saw the menu that looked like it had been written by a famous fantasy writer. There was a lovely old lady that served us but then told us it could be a wait because there were only two staff working and one was pregnant. Her counting skills might have been a bit off because there were two other staff and two chefs. 2+2+2=2 I suppose. Anyway the lunch was a cracker. After a feed we walked into the gardens to start this multi. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk and were rewarded with a find to go with an excellent lunch. tftc
That was really fun! A great way to visit the gardens. The gardens are beautiful! TFTC, a great way to enjoy Orange!
Found it with Snarfman on 1st October 2022. 20 minutes to 30 minute find not too hard not too easy
My knees are filthy, but persistence paid o. No muggles around today. Deserves a favourite point.
Tftc! Very to happy to have found our first multicache. TN, left little blue car
In Orange to pick up my daughter for the school holidays & we wandered around the gardens catching up while collecting the required details. TFTC, this one was lots of fun.
We tried this one a couple of years ago. Was fun doing it again and coming back to the same ground zero. Stoked to tick this one off. TFTC
Had a little error counting the faces of the sculpture. Upon recount, we found the prize. Tftc.

Like others today we have completed the orienteering event and then had a play at the nearby park before a stroll around the gardens to collect the cache. Thunder starting now so time to head home. TFTC
What does a geocaching orienteerer do with a free morning? Goes geocaching of course. The Duntryleague series was the first of the chosen caches and it was an enjoyable walk with a variety of hides to keep the mind ticking over.
A visit to this cache was always on the cards because of the favourite points. After wandering around getting the information my heart sank approaching GZ when I saw a couple sitting on the bench. Fortunately the cache was around the other side and the couple were none the wiser.
Thanks for the cache tanitag79.

A daytrip to Orange looking for windmill clues. This is a fabulous multi that took me to some very interesting and picturesque spots. Thanks for the lovely walk thru the gardens.
Finally found on our third attempt. Cache is in good order. But you’ll have to do some lying on the ground and a bit of touchy feely under the church
Found all the waypoints, after double checking my maths but could not ind the cache at the end.
The geokids and I made it to the final spot but couldn't find the cache. The smallest geokid was getting restless and it was getting too hot so we left it. We will try and return to find it. We got so close.
Thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the gardens and all the info was found easily.
We had to look in a few spots before we found the cache but it wasn’t hard to find.

I think that we found it, took a pic as instructed?

Yes the front sign is missing but still relatively easy find walking around Garden. Got to GZ and followed the clue to where cache should be but no luck.
As per the other logs, the info at the gate to the Gardens is nowhere to be found, so it’s presumably long gone, but it’s reasonably easy to work it all out as you walk around the gardens. Pretty sure we ended up at the area where the cache should be but no luck, not sure if cache is still around given previous comments and the time since last found. It was a very lovely spot though with all the autumn colours, so we still got a very nice reward!
Despite the missing sign for waypoint one, we found way point 2 and we're able to eventually find GZ. Looked in all the likely locations but no luck. Pretty sure it's missing.
Found it. Again can't find the info at the front but managed the rest. Great walk but unfortunately cache in bad shape. ️
First find for the day, great quizes, and great day in the play ground and garden, cache need some maintenance but still there tftc
Found it after a long cache , appears the sign out the front may have been changed so crucial details are no longer there , the rest works fine thanks.
This cache has been on my to do list from the moment I started caching. Today was the day to cross off a date.
Had time today to wander the gardens with geodaughter and not only cache but enjoy a great garden.
Used mr google on initial waypoint to check hectares v acres and we were off.
Spot on coords set us up well and when the GPS was pointing to the final I knew I would find it somewhere. Did a jig for hannah as I made the find. Had a great time, and a great meander.
SL TFTC Fav point from me. well worth the wait.

I found and logged this cache during a trip through the central west with my father Mr MR. He has encouraged me to log my finds on line. We enjoyed this multi. SL TFTC
It was very hot and dry at the gardens today but I was determined to do this multi as I had not had time for it last time I was in Orange. We found the waypoints without any trouble and soon had the final coordinates worked out. A pleasant stroll had us at GZ for a quick find. A very enjoyable multi, it gets a favourite from me. Thanks tanitag79. Dropped TB.

It's always nice to take a walk through a Botanical Garden, but this one was struggling in need of some rain. My GPS was all over the place but the waypoints were as they should be, and after walking all over the place, the cache was spotted by gerrynewgirl who was along for the walk. TFTC TN and left a weroamin token.
Along for the walk weroamin says, huh! After reading the sign and noting there was no record of any ACRES mentioned it was a bit of sleuth work to get us to the next waypoint - looking at the map of the gardens, I spotted a feature which might mean an assembly of perhaps 15 stones, so off we went for a look - bingo. WP 2 was reached and headed us off to WP 3 - which incidentally was my first thought where a cache should be found, and find it I did. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.
Thanks tanitag79 for an interesting puzzle, and thanks to Squick for replacing the container so that I could turn my DNF into a smiley.
Today we visited the cache after completing Zones Little Athletics nearby.
We already had the coords for GZ from our previous searches, and today the cache was exactly where we thought it should be. A lovely cache, thanks.

With a previous DNF I was in the Gardens on another activity and decided to check out GZ - found the cache easily so know it wasn't there last time. TFTC
Found it. Council has removed the sign with the numbers you need for the quiz, but we found them in the leaflet/map they have in a container at the entrance. Challenging but worth it! Cache isn't in a plastic container anymore, (nice choice Squick, I like it!) Took a coin, left small fish. TFTC

We couldn't find the answers at WP1. Thanks to the description we found WP2 without coordinates. From there on all went well and we found the cache.
Thanks for hiding.

This was one of my first caches i searched for when I started geocaching but had no luck and therefore was my first DNF, Then read that Squick had replace the cache, so while i was out and about doing other caches i couldn't resist to come back and find it, and there it was the same spot i was looking for it before. Thanks for the replacement Squick I can put this as a Found it cache now. This was Number 5 for the day. TFTC TNLN
After a relaxing lunch ..we decided that we are gonna need to use google for the answers as part of answers has been removed by local council....a beautiful walk on an autumns day with a win the find of the cache ...tftc
Got to waypoint 1 and after a good head scratch I found what I needed. Waypoint 2 was quick and easy. Then gz had to wait for muggles to disappear and after some searching finally found it. Enjoyed my walk in the gardens on a beautiful autumn day TFTC
First time caching West of the mountains. Took some family along to introduce them to caching.
Had trouble finding the information at WP1 to get to WP2. Took some guesses and made our way round the park, eventually finding the cache. First to sign the new log book!

Noticed a few DNF's on this one and as I live very near decided to go for a walk and check it out. Cache does seem to be missing as it was not where I made the find. I could replace if needed ...... Let me know tanitag79
A pleasant walk through the gardens (and interviewed by the press for the local paper which gave a good account of geocaching). Found the waypoints but even after several recounts at No 3 couldn't find the goods at GZ. A previous finder says we were looking in the right place so it might be worth a check tanitag79. Thanks for bringing us here.
It was a great day for a walk in the Gardens and the clues were excellent. Unfortunately we didn;t find the cache despite having a good look around. This was our first cache though so maybe we just need more practice.
was enjoying the hunt but unfortunately Me little one was a bit bored so called it quits will try again another day.
Had a good but not exhaustive look and couldn't come up with the goods. Shame, as I had four little ones with me eager to find a treasure. TFTHunt anyway!
Great day for a walk in the gardens, getting answers to find the cache, found it no muggles when we got cache. TFTC
was a fun cache, really enjoyed it. we went past the spot but as we were coming back we spotted it
Our first multi-cache, enjoyed the challenge. Now that we've done one we'll give some more a go.
The gardens get better every year, I really enjoy visiting when Music In the Gardens is being held.

After a dissappointing DNF across town a trip to the gardens was refreshing, love the mathematical multi-caches.
Went with a cousin who I am trying introduce to geocaching. Found the unusual structure before the rocks, but we did the rocks anyway.
The big pig inside was troublesome to try and fit back in but eventually made it.
TNLN TFTC.

Our first multi - wasn't sure how to use the GPS for the mutli but managed to find the location after a couple of wrong turns.! We live quite close to the gardens but didn't really have that good alook until now.
Caching with the Southward4 & their first find!! Thanks for taking us on a nice family walk.

Lots off fun. Left orange 30 years ago and this area was just paddock. Great place to visit on a sunny winters day.
Thank you tanitag 79 for taking us here. Almost in our backyard and we have never walked around before. Clues excellent and easy to follow. Becon was able to do most of it and told me to ignore his four wheel slide down the hill.
funny but it got confusing though so i left it to my fellow cache partner and i found it lol umm its my first multi.
I had never been to this Garden before. Nice place, the clues were on the money and found the cache. Thanks for the cache its worth the trouble TNLN
Found by Mary & David at 1230. One of those caches that you wish would never end; a reminder that caching takes you to such amazing places. Must have been a wedding here yesterday as there were white satin bows everywhere. What wonderful photos for the couple. Mary could have stayed in the Rose garden to do some dead heading and light summer pruning. Our thanks again to tanitag79.
