So... It's a funny story... we just stopped to look at this monument and weren't even out geocaching. However, I figured it was the kind of place that might have one close by. Looked it the most logical place and found one! Very cool! This was then confirmed by opening the app. So the log book has been signed, and the cache is nicely back in its place all ready for the next geo-hunter. The log book however was wet. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC! And merry Christmas!
Found easily, cache very wet and slimy and will need attention, unfortunately i dont have anything to dry it out and replace sorry
3:04 pm 28th December 2022.cache full of bugs and water buying okay.Emptied of both. TFTC
Finding caches on my trip south until it gets too cold or reach my target amount.
We found the Log Book wet,so dried it out the best we could, and was still able to sign our name TFTH
Just loving the caches along this route and the places they are showing me. Did not know about this plaque - how interesting. We could certainly do with another George Brown, judging from the number of rabbits about nowadays. Cache was soaked but the write-in-rain paper is ok. TFTC.
Once I worked out my left and right sides all was fine. ️I planned a ski trip with hubby and friends. Then I had a couple of biopsies dine on my arm. So no skiing for me so I decided to cache instead. Thank you Sir Rick and Lady Jan for this cache.

There were still a few more caches southwest of Timaru to locate and sign and seeing that I was staying another day albeit a drizzling one I would try for them.
A relatively old one still going.
Cheers for the cache.

Stopped at this intersection to check where I was in relation to where I wanted to go. No Spark reception but I looked across the road and thought, that's a great spot to place a cache. Lo and behold, I found one! Thanks!

Obviously the spot that the local lads come to do wheelies. With the amount of rubber on the road and the amount of shredded tyres . We read the plaque and gk signed the nice new log. Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley
Just as we arrived here a farmer was trying to negotiate his mob of sheep across the one lane bridge, effectively blocking traffic from the other side. This suited us fine as we couldn't go ahead either so we stopped and made a nice quick find. As others have mentioned - there was water in the container and logbook was too wet to come out of soaked plastic bag. Tipped water out, dried everything off and placed new log and bag into container. Don't know how long they will last but here's hoping. tftc
What a shame the legacy wasn't continued for a few more years. They would have got every rabbit! TFTC
Heading South for a break and a bit of Geocaching. Grabbing a few between Christchurch and Oamaru. Quick find at GZ, looking at the rubber on the road there are some other pests that need dealing with!
Signed log, TFTC Sir Rick and Lady Jan.

This was a quick cache and dash whilst passing. Interesting memorial. Out caching with Will of the Wisp on our “Round the World in 80 Days” trip to celebrate retirement. Signing logs with our names or initials depending on space. Greetings from England, TFTC.
Auf dem Weg von Lake Tekapo nach Dunedin haben wir am Wegesrand die Dosen eingesammelt. Diese konnten wir gut finden. Danke fürs Legen,
2nd of our 6 Day Adventure down to Oamaru for [Oamaru Geofest 2017](https://coord.info/GC6M2V0).
A quick easy find of a very sopping wet cache. We removed the old wet logbook and added a new one. The TB listed was also not present. 28/48 caches for the day and 250 for our trip. Thanks for placing the cache and adding to our smilies

Found with Spydude13 and Lollipopcat. This cache was so wet we couldn't write on the log. Kia ora for the cache
Done. Definately wouldn't have known this statue was here if not for the cache. Thanks for the history lesson.
I'm on a 5 day caching trip in the south island. Have a few aims - right now its to up a few specific caches that I need to complete my grid for a challenge - and find some interesting caches on the way 1800km later I can say I've accomplished my aim!

Found with StreetWalker while taking the scenic route back home to Christchurch, via Cave and Pleasant Point, after spending an enjoyable Easter break in Timaru.
I searched where the GPSr was pointing and failed to find the cache while SW took heed of the hint and he found it. An interesting monument. TFTC.

Up visiting friend who lives down the road and we decided such a nice day was a sign we had to go caching, so jumped in the car and took a very windy route from Otaio to Cave. Found some great caches along the way and saw some new places.
First time didn't find it and it could not have been that hard based on the comments, then at Memorial Hill found two containers, one of which logs matched this one...... so we took the spare one and returned it to this location and placed as per the hint.

Found with my little geocachers who were very excited to be the ones to find it. TFTC
Was uncovered when we arrived and with all the rubbish in the area thought it was rubbish to start with and then realised that it wasn't rubbish after all and a quick sign and return and then a quick cito in the area before carrying on. Tftc
Co-ords were pointing to the wrong pillar, thankfully the hint pointed us to the right pillar. Found with Aoraki Sheep.
One of us went to where the GPS was pointing while the other went to where the hint suggested. Yep you can probably guess which one came up with the smiley. Found with debsnz
on our way to lake tekapo we looked for some caches and found this one. tftc and greetings from germany.
Very interesting read on the history of this cache and I guess wallabies are in the area if the one dead one up the road is anything to go by TFTC
Thanks for the cache! A lovely stop on the way back from a night at Mt Nimrod. The children loved the back story
We don't usually stop for park & grabs, but this one deserved a visit. Those rabbit boards did a great job!
Out on a big Jasmar mission, this one along with quite a big number of others were on my "hit list"
Another one of those "only one place it could be" caches, so quickly found

I witnessed it but didn't pick it up as there were mugels across the road. I hope this still counts! I will be back to sign it oneday.
I have never even driven past here, let alone stopped! One finds out so much while caching!! TFTC!!

Interesting coincidence - the 3Gs had been rabbiting on about local GCs and here we were. Interesting story behind this one.... TFTC
Quick find with Granville86a, looks like this is the burnout area for the local hoons. Interesting history, TFTC
Out on drive with Hubby, not actually geocaching, did not have a GPS with us and really didn't know this was here.
Stopped to look at what the memorial was for and thought to myself "this is the sort of play people would hide a cache"
so had a look and Bingo !
thanks for and unexpected cache find

often wondered what those strangers were doing trying to look casual at the monument!!!!!
Out for a quiet Sunday drive/caching trip. With the sun shining we couldn't have wished for better weather.
Mission for the day is to attack some caches in the Pareora Gorge and head to Fairlie for lunch and ice cream.
Nice memorial.
