After a few days in Wagga returning to Canberra grabbing a number of caches along the way. TFTC.
Tftc, Lou and Paul from the Blue Mountains NSW. Travelling with Savannah. Cache in good order.Amongst the ferns
Found It!A quick find here after finding somewhere to park. First time I've ever been to Oura.TFTC
Starting the morning with a traditional find. This is the nearest cache to the campground I've been staying at but both nights I've gotten back so late it hadn't occurred to me to stop by. But this was my last chance and I had gotten up early enough for one cache.I parked nearby, climbed up and fossicked before finding and signing then taking a look at the view. It's a bit house-y but still nice. Where I'm from the new housing areas are like Tetris.
A loose plan was hatched for a 3-week road trip with RoamingHowie to explore locations in Country NSW wed not been to before and of course, find a cache here and there.DAY EIGHTEEN: After a few nights camped at Oura beach, it was time to move on, heading south. Not a fan of barking dogs but oh well. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, Roostaman ~~
It was time for the traditional post Christmas road trip. The stockings were emptied of presents, feasts were devoured and great times were had with family and friends. Now to get away!Day 18: Time to leave Wagga Wagga and head further south to Albury. Lots to do today along the way.We thought this was an odd place for a recommended at night cache, but then again, the area was probably pretty different in 2007. I wouldnt go shining torches around here now though as the cache is directly opposite a house with a barking dog and full glass windows looking over GZ.We made quick work of it and got out of there quickly. Thanks Roostaman for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy. ----------------------------------------------------------The Ballarat GeoTour ends on 4 March 2024! Be sure to find all the caches and earn the souvenir before the tour is archived. The [Farewell Ballarat GeoTour Event - GCAFQ8B](https://coord.info/GCAFQ8B) is on 18 February 2024.Looking for caches to find when visiting Victoria? Why not check out the geocaching lists available on the [Geocaching Victoria Website](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists/). There are plenty to choose from including all of the previous nominees and winners of the Victorian Cache of the Year Awards.
Having camped at the nearby camp site, we were now heading away, but stopped for this cache. The cached was lying on the ground, so we replaced it where it probably was supposed to live.
Heading to Wagga today to pick something up, haven't been here in a few years and definitely haven't cached it yet. Bit of a miserable day but there was a few windows of sunshine.
Nice little view from here, followed the well defined geotrail to the cache.

Heard a scream then NIFARES yells “there is a huge huntsman in the cache” Ewww.

We followed one of the Oura back roads to get to this cache. There were some people in the house opposite the road, but didn't seem to mind us scrambling up the embankment to get to gz. The container was quickly spotted and the admin completed. We would have loved to visit the winery, but it was closed for a private function. TFTC!
Lady Thrips asked for some peace and quiet at home and we jumped at the opportunity for a day of caching. It wasn't the best weather for the outdoors, with a real chill in the air and a couple of drizzles along the way, but we dressed accordingly and didn't allow it to deter us. We had a successful day with 15 finds and only 2 DNF's.

After finding "Wagga by Night" we decided to find this one!
We were camping in Oura so probably could have actually found this at night..... but it was only 6pm when we made the find, and still light outside.
This was probably smart though as the nearby house looks pretty recent, and I doubt it was there in 2007 when the cache was placed. It looks straight over GZ now so I wouldn't want to be shining torches around!
Loved the hide, a creative piece of camo.

I noticed there was an event in Jugiong this Saturday, and had decided to go to that, then noticed one the next day, with overnight camping beforehand, at Oura Beach - so I decided that this weekend would be a Geocaching weekend ... so, as I was out somewhere else on Friday evening, I got up on Saturday morning and packed camping gear and food, and all my other stuff, and drove from Canberra to the "A Country Town Event #1 Jugiong", then while I was there I found a cache nearby (that I had not found when I was here and looked for it 2 years earlier) then after that event, I went and found a few more in Jugiong, then headed over toward Wagga Wagga to camp overnight, for the the "Come to Oura Camping Event!" which was officially on Sunday morning ... hung around after and found a nearby cache, had a swim and lunch, then found the cache in Oura, before I headed out to Kapooka to find a couple caches there (I had not been there, or even to Wagga Wagga (apart from driving through the edge of town on my way to camp at Oura beach - lol), since I did my Army recruit training back in 1987) then I headed back past Oura (decided that was a more interesting way to go home) and found a few caches here and there on my drive home to Canbera ... and my last find on the way home (between Murrumbateman and Canberra) was actually just after Midnight - oops? - lol
TFTC - despite my original good intentions, I was too busy sitting around chatting to get around to coming for this in the evening/dark, so I came and found it in daylight, after the event
Found some interesting rocks sticking up out of the cacher trail (pegmatite? with... Tourmaline? Crystals in it) and an interesting skull and neck bones where my phone took me the other way to the fence and then back along it...

Signed dsd or DARKSIDEDAN depending on the size of the cache thanks for the cache and the adventure
This turned out to be a lot easier than I thought with only a 25M walk up hill and easy find which surprised me normally I take a while to find caches hidden in rocks. TFTC.
Travelling over to wagga to visit the kids, taking a different route to expand our horizons. Looks like a nice community out here. Wonder what the mechanic on the corner makes of the odd visitor to this remotish location. No lights for us today as it was too early but a cache was got and onwards we went. Tftc
Cordy found this one, and left some swaps. Great views up here.

With a well-deserved day off from work in hand, I decided to go Geocaching. I also decided on the caching trail between Coota and Wagga. This ended up with a 350km round trip which includes a little bit of driving around in wagga for lunch and shopping. Originally between Coota and Nangus (the first little town you come to along this trail), there was only three caches that I hadn’t found until yesterday when two new caches popped up in Coota, which added to the excitement and I also had a bonus FTF on the first cache I found today (GA11467). Unless stated otherwise, all caches were found quickly and were in good condition. On some of the smaller log books/paper I signed as 17/4 JM. I would like to thank all CO’s of the caches I found and for the fun I had today.
My last find before lunch and some shopping. I know this is a night cache but I wasn't going to wait around for hours to find it at night. Even during the day it has a great view. TFTC

Found 1000 13/0418 - While in the village getting some work/service done to the motor bike (best bike mechanic in region working from here now) - Took a walk down to grab this cache - Lovely views of the area - Cache and log in good condition - The pen I took with me didn't work so I scratched 3 X into the line of the log - Thank you for bring us to this area and appreciate the surrounds - TFTC - TNLN
This is worth doing on sunset! We came at last light and weren’t disappointed! Thankyou for bringing us out here. Beautiful views!

Suscoe was out and about this morning heading to the east of Wagga.
It was a clear morning with blue skies approaching and a delightful day emerging from the night.
The countryside changed from the city to the country and we enjoyed all the views as we headed around the roads.
Thanks to Roostaman for this hide.
The lid is broken and the log is too wet to write on, engraved the name into the paper.
The CO might need to visit this one.

1st cache in the rooster area. Don't try to take your caravan up this track like we did.
Bill had one side of the fence & I took the other he was the one that got lucky.

Getting to the right elevation and simply looking around revealed a treasure hidden there. It also gave a very good view over the area. All was good with the cache, which actually has a damaged lid, but was still well protected from the elements. Thanks for putting this cache into play.
Hearing about the 2 events today at the Chocolate Factory and the Monte Cristo Haunted Homestead, plans were put into place with the ladies from FurfacesLL and geomum to attend and do a day of caching around the area picking up the newer caches. We set off at a reasonable hour from Canberra and worked our way towards the first event, did some more caching then headed over to Monte Cristo then off for some more caching. All in all we all had a great day out
Had never even heard of this town before today. We did it during the day, so we didnt get the night views. Cache signed and replaced and onward we go.

I plan was hatched to head to Junee for the day with Geomum and Rapidlywild to attend both of the events being held there.
After the events we decided to pick up the remaining caches around the area before heading home.
Interesting little place here and a quick find after climbing up a few rocks.

Found after a scout camp on a cold afternoon. You have to love caches that take you out of the way and allow the searcher to discover places worth finding. Thanks.
After a picnic lunch nearby with some lovely curried egg sandwiches we came and made a quick find and admired the view. Thanks for bringing us here Roostaman.
What a joy to visit this wonderful community. Mr Roo and I were considering camping by the river but decided to go closer to the big smoke. TFTC

Have been planning another trip down to Wagga Wagga. But had to postpone it while the Geo Dawg was recuperating from her knee operation and now she has recovered it is time to put the plan into action. Rather than travelling down the boring concrete strip called Hume. I decided to head out West through Bathurst, Blaney and then South to Cowra, Young hence Wagga Wagga with a view to complete the RGGT Series and find others caches of opportunity along the way. Great cache. TFTC
