We were flat out finding the co-ordinates but once we had them the final cache was fairly easy. Our first Ideology cache. Thanks for showing us the ropes.
Ran into GandT and Urban Bear around the first waypoints. It was an impromptu caching convention.
Thanks to Ideology for a good challenge.

Our First Ideology cache and I now have to go and get more, teamed up with Alternate Route for the mission, it must have been a great day for geocaching with all the geocachers around, once we were onto the co-ords the virus was located and neutralised.

Thanks Ideology for a great caching experience.

Monday was the Sydney Geocachers picnic day. Unfortunately, the invitations must have gone astray as only Alternate Route, Scubadoo, GandT and me turned up Smile.

Alternate Route, Scubadoo and me were busy walking in circles (the dance part of the festivities) when GandT turned up and found the co-ordinates straight away!

Decided to tackle the rest of the cache another day and left the others to the race.

Good to meet you all!

This was a mission! Lots of fun. Mr Plod was very interested in our mission. Met some fellow hunters on the way. Foot prints told us we were the 2nd to locate cache today - 2nd by 45 minutes. Nice to meet you guys, may see you underwater some time. Team G & T

!!News Flash!!
Oky's mates have neutralised Achilles. The virus has been mutated to a non-virulent strain of rhinovirus. Australians can rest easy from the threat of United Nations sanctions.

The task wasn't an easy one. With other operatives all around, both on land and on water, Oky's mates didn't know who to trust, so they trusted no one (except Tigger the Travelling around Australia travel bug). Federal police paid special attention to Oky's mates and a decoy attendance at an open house inspection was required to throw them off the scent. With the patience of a saint and paying close attention to all the information at hand, Oky's mates were able to complete the mission where others had failed just before them. Tigger enjoyed the game of espionage until the virus almost got the better of him. Fortunately Oky's mates have training in genetic cloning and were able to save the day and tigger got no more than a common cold from the virus infection. Tigger is now safely at home in bed recovering from his cold.

A year ago today Ideology reclaimed the virus from the EvilGenius and returned it safely to the laboratory. Unfortunately this weapon of mass destruction was set loose in Sydney again last month. Was it the work of the EvilGenius or has a new terrorist network established themselves in Sydney?

Oky's mates are worried that if the UN find out that this biological weapon is loose in Sydney it will declare war on Australia. Therefore we set out today on a reconnaissance mission. Avoiding the unblinking eyes we sectioned off the area. We coped with the information to hand and even had time for a game of beach volleyball. Satellite images were collected and are currently being analysed. No doubt these photos from outer space will help us identify the initials and lead us directly to the microcache.

After cancelling yet another canyoning trip due to sucky weather, we had nothing better to do than return for more urban punishment at the hands of Ideology.
After a few months in hiatus, we came with prepared minds and returned home triumphant!

We recieved our mission orders and headed off to find the elusive initials. This proved much easier than anticipated - SUCCESS! HOORAY!

Pictures to come soon!

We stepped up
We coped
We sat and thank
We slapped our foreheads
We headed off to the nether-world in search of the initials
We waited for our boat to come in
We ran out of time and went home
*sigh*

We had GPS problems all day, not sure if the Bay wharf was the place to be...

Should we bring our togs next time...

We were passing by and had some time to test out some ideas. These amounted to nothing, and we think the only sensible interpretation of the mission orders was the one we orignally had, East of the published location. We tried the other cardinal points with no luck.
The only initials we can find are the S.P.S ones on the big green control box.
The clues do not gel with any of the locations.

This is a fruitless search unless we know we have interpreted the mission orders correctly. ie. SECTION(m) East of the published location which puts us right in a bush next to the S.P.S. In which case, finding a micro cache in there is like the proverbial needle in a haystack - but we tried anyway with no luck.

Too far away to go back, we are sadly giving up on this one.

24-Sep-01
We have sat and thought about it some more and have come up with some new plans of attack. We will be back...

21-Sep-01
Figured out the Section (after managing to narrowly avoid suspicion of the federal police)
Strolled the required distance (meters, feet, yards, furlongs, nautical miles, royal cubits, LSD's, decimal point minutes, what?) directly east which found us loitering around a S.P.S (are they the initials?)
Looked above those initials to no avail.
We placed out bet on it being meters east, but tried a few variations with the decimal point minutes.
Turned the place upside down much to amusement of onlookers.
Found another official survey marker (al.la P.U.L.S.E)

Found no other initials, so we are puzzled...

Leaving the home of power , via a circuituous sea voyage hidden in a wooden monkey, we finally unearthed and screwed (unscrewed?) the Delrin ™. To continue the Odyssey we now seek the evil genius ™. Having been dipped in the river Styx,G1 and Arfur are invincible. Onward to Troy and victory.

Our research monkeys have managed to develop a broad spectrum anti-virus from discarded banana skins. Lets hope its effective.

does a micro cache require a micro screwderiver?
