Lovely views from here, we took to small stroll to gz and I had a quick search for the cache, and soon had it in hand and signed. Then it was a short stop to admire the view before moving on. Thanks for the cache #1776
What a nice little track through the bush to an unexpected view. Quick find once the muggles left. TFTC
Nice views, great spot to play radio for a while with the people down in the city. Thanks for the cache!
Wow, spectacular view from here! Thanks KiwiGary for the cache and showing this place!
A solo excursion for Mr Coblet on a geocaching mission along scenic drive.I like a good lookout and I'm sure this is a great one but I picked a very bad day for lookout appreciation and was greeted with only a misty outlook. But the benefits of the bad weather was I had the entire area to myself and could enjoy the peace and serenity. It was also good use of my imagination trying to work out what was hiding behind the clouds. The cache was quickly located and the log signed before I headed back to the car, after taking in one more quick imaginative view.TFTC
I looked for this a couple of years ago with GeohoundandI but at the time it had recently rained, the ground was slippery and we looked at the drop if we missed our step and gave up. Today, on the way home stopped here and made a quick find. I may have missed the rain earlier, but most of it fell off the flax when I was looking for the cache.
M25: a nice view, a nice cache, log all good and signed here. TFTC. Really thought it was gonna be constant rain today. Thank goodness that wasn't the case.
I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Yesterdays focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and Saint John's. Today it was going to be Titirangi but on spotting a new cache publication our plans changed and we headed straight to the Waitakeries. Great views of the city from here. Funnily enough no view of the huge antenna from the lookout. A quick and easy find here. Big gouges in the carpark exit that took some dodging. Thanks for your cache
This cache had our best view of the day, wow what awesome views of Auckland City. Quick find at GZ, thanks to the great hint. Our New Year caching trip in 2024 was in and around Auckland with Lis's Crew. Today we were planning on going in and around Titirangi however a FTF popped up this morning at the Cascades so we have made a detour on our travels. Thanks for bringing me here as I have never explored this track and TFGC. What a great way to spend a sunny summers day.
Worth the wander down to the lookout. Mr 8 on a teacher only day enjoyed rummaging for this one and found a intresting catapiler at the same time. We picked up the trackable and will hopefully bring it to an event this weekend. TFTC#140
With my partner catching up with family today I had an afternoon and evening spare so headed up Piha way for a walk along one of the open Waitakere tracks.
My! That’s a large erection.
My attention was drawn towards the look out though and once I’d gazed over towards the big city I got down to business. A quick find, sign and returns.
Thanks rustynz

Couldn’t have clearer instructions but DNF nevertheless. Amazing view, great to have visited.
Headed into the car park as we headed past this viewpoint sign and went off down the track to see what was what. Great views all around and worth the stop off. Added my name to the almost empty (new) logbook. T F T C RUSTY
Keen to get out on another glorious day and it's New Years Day too, happy New Year all. I was keen to head to Piha but mrs had spotted Karekare Beach and we headed there first and what a treat it was. A variety of caches, scenery and a waterfall, can't fault those options. Even had a picnic lunch by the car before briefly heading to Piha and then saying 'another time, when it's not so busy'!

In the area of West Auckland after Oratia Stream CITO. I had DNF here before. Good to see this hide in new hands and freshly re-placed! Enjoyed view one more time from here! Beautiful spot! ʢ◉ᴥ◉ʡ TFTC!
It is a an amazing sunny winters day, and surprisingly this is a place I had never visited before. Can not explain why KiwiGary, as I have travelled this road many times over the years
With a good hint and co-ords I was soon at the lookout taking in the views. On retrieving the cache, the old log was signed.
Knowing that this cache needed a new container, I bought one with me, and have left it in the hint item. Partially attached.
Thanks for the hide KiwiGary, and for bringing me here.

As others have said, no lid on the cache so it was very wet but managed to get my name on the paper. Unfortunately I wasn't in my car so had no replacement container with me so maybe the next cacher could replace it, otherwise needs maintenance. The great view from here wasn't so great today as the rain was just setting in
Amazing views....
Container compromised...needs maintenance from CO if still caching.
Thanks alunb for piece of paper.

Thanks alunb for piece of paper.
Found the empty container not in the place it was supposed to be, some muggle must have destroyed it TFTC
Heading out along scenic drive and pulled into the nearby parking area. More nice views here, found the base of the sistema container so left a temp log wedged inside and replaced as found, cheers
Couldn't find it. Looked everywhere. Last log was that is was muggled and we checked everywhere.
We finally found the cache far down the hill and it has been damaged. There was no lid and no contents. Left container back at the top under the flax bush
Nice easy find and a great place to drop a travel bug. Our first trip to the Waitakere region and added to a thorough exploration of the Auckland area. TFTC
Cool little lookout that I otherwise wouldn't have gone down if there weren't a geocache! Nil muggles, although there were signs of maybe a marriage proposal? There was a lot of white fabric draped around the railings... spectacular view though. Cache was fairly easy to find, especially with a good hint. In good condition. TFTC
I have always meant to stop at this lookout but haven't. Today the sun was shining and the view was outstanding. Thank you for making me stop. The cache was wet and the log unwriteable. New waterproof log and double plastic bag left.
I am enjoying the good weather today with a bit of caching. No problem finding this one, but the log is TWTS. TFTC.
Had to stop for a quick look at the view after an awesome surf sesh at Piha... Everything is soggy. Needs maintenance. Tftc!
As there is now a Rahui over the Waitakeres I decided to grab a few road side caches. This was quickly found thanks to the hint and an awesome view was a bonus... it was a bit hazy today but still impressive. The contents were pretty wet so I just managed to sign the log but it should probably be replaced. TFTC!
Out on a weekend geocaching adventure. Found it quickly. The cache was a bit of mess. Definitely require some maintenance. TFTC
Seems a bit of a shame this geocache is nine months between finds, I guess all of the regulars collected it long ago and now it waits patiently for new geocachers to come by. I speculatively pulled into the driving bay on the basis that surely someone had placed a geocache here, and sure enough there was one easy walking distance. A very short and effortless stroll down to a terrific lookout over the city.
Once we had drank in the view for a couple of minutes it was time to get to business. Spotting the hint item I volunteered to take it on. I have to say, my guess is at some point this has had a good cutting back, as it was not hard to get to at all and a very easy find. The walk in is clearly quite a bit easier than in the day as the Terrain rating is these days surely not much above 1.5. I'm no athlete, that's for sure and I found it easy.
Good geocache in the classic sense in that takes you somewhere interesting (in this case beautiful). Contents in very good condition all things considered, no problems signing. Replaced and back on our way. Thanks for bringing us to a great view of Auckland. Incidentally, we live just a short stroll from Dominion Road and love that song, GC3WQP6 is a fun little puzzle about it with the final very close to our house.

Out picking up some caches along the Scenic Drive. Its been a long time since I have been along here. Nice quiet weekday.
I hate flax. I initially didn't find this cache and was about to give it up for lost when I decided to make another attempt. Finally after a few minutes of hunting around what should have been a very quick find, I uncovered it. I signed off and then I used the magnificent view to soothe my frustration with taking so long to find the cache. Really, though, the view is incredible and I'm giving this a favorite point just for that! Glad to have been to the spot. TFTC! #964
Today Mrs Biggles and I decided to drive from one end of the Scenic Drive to the other. it's been a few years since either of us did that. We managed to find a few caches along the way. Mrs Biggles stayed with the car and I took the short walk along to GZ. More great view and a cache found after a short search. TFTC, Biggles.
Headed up Scenic Drive and this was stop #8. Quick find but stayed a bit longer to enjoy the view. TFTC
Stopped off on our way along scenic drive getting the new series! Quick find! Tftc
Very busy place ! Finally got a chance to put it back after a long wait for muggies to leave.Dropped off TB. Thanks

Cant believe this hasn't been found since February!! Tftc. Amazing view from here at night!
Clear day and very different views of the city, amazing how even a little distance along Scenic Drive changes what you can see an identify, but still cannot see from down below where we are staying up above.
Found ... Mrs McMike2012 & I had decided that we would go for a walk in the Waitakere Ranges today ... picked an area that had a loop track & a couple of caches ... as we were going to be passing thru here on or way to the loop track ... we parked nearby & after a short walk, soon had this cache in hand ... Wonderful views back over Auckland ... from we we live, we actually see it from the opposite direction. TN:LN:SL. TFTC. The 4th of 7 for the day. #808 for us.
Random how sometimes no one finds these caches for months then you get 2 in a week. The contents are soaking so dried as much as I could
#350. A short stroll to another great viewing platform with excellent views out over the city. The cache was easily found but had water in the container and log was damp. The antenna is a distinctive feature on the Auckland skyline and the song by The Muttonbirds nicely captures its significance. Checking the logs I am amazed no-one has been here in almost 6 months. Its only a few minutes walk from the Scenic Drive! TFTC
Awesome views here on a clear morning. Relatively quick find although almost surprised by surprise visitor.
Found after clearing away lots of dead leaves and branches. Everything still wet inside the cache but log was writable-just. Tried to dry it out for a few minutes but had to move on.
Stunning viewpoint though.

Remember bringing the kids here many years ago. A nice quick find followed by taking in the awesome view. The log is pretty damp but unfortunately I did not have any replacement with me. TFTC.
Wandered down to this cache late at night with headtorch on, what a gorgeous view! Have seen this many times over the years day and night, but tonight is the first time to geocache!
A plan was hatched last night to make an attempt on "Holey Mercey" cache in Piha with Nova and HPG, so we turned it into a day adventure and found some caches on our way up and on the way home.
Great to see a view of Auckland that I've never seen before. It looks so much better with the bush in the fore ground. Bit of a search for the cache, but I had it in hand in a few minutes. TFTC.

Nice quick find at the end of a long day caching. Good to grab this one in a very cool spot.
Fantastic views. Dropped off and picked up trackable. Log wet, so placed new page in cache
#2598.
#40 in NZ.
As we parked, another couple also stopped their car next to us. We took a very quick walk to gz to try and find the cache before the muggles could join us. Fortunately it was a quick time and we managed to sign the log with a lot of time to spare. This was really another amazing view. Thanks for bringing us here!

A big thank you to all the geocache owners for being our “tour guides” in New Zealand while we are on our short holiday visit to this extraordinarily beautiful country! We traveled the North Island in our little camper van and we came across minimal damaged caches and we only had very few DNF’s.
"Groete" all the way from South Africa!

Fantastic views-lucky no one else was taking in the scenery so we made a qwik find-tftc
Another great view over Auckland...log very wet though...signed where I could. cheers V.
Cache and contents absolutely sopping wet. Dried it's best we could. Great spot. Thanks. CBE
a quick divert on the way home for a wee wander in the bush... water in the box and the log is damp.. ? needs re painting perhaps?
Wow, that is some view. I picked a good day for it for sure. A nice quick find after work this afternoon. Cheers for sharing this spot!
another cache find while out doing the scenic drive caches today. Great views across Auckland even when the weather isn't so good. Quick easy find with the good clue.
A great spot and a cache I had been meaning to get around to finding for a very very long time. Popped up here today after work and made a quick find without GPS even. Unfortunately this one has seen better days - the log is very wet, although I did manage to scratch my name into it - sadly I didn't have my caching kit with me so could do nothing to help - all it needs is a bit of a clean out and a new log. Took the smurf TB, which was looking a little wet and sad also. TFTC!!!
Was special for me to get this one as I used to live in Waiatarua ,,,,and from this Lookout you can almost see the roof of my old house !
Can't see this cache from home but can see the TV tower from my parents' house. TFTC
A quick find this one was. A great view as well. We met a nice little cat that followed us all of the way up to the top of the track. TFTC KiwiGary
