We are spending a few days in Point Lonsdale for our Anniversary and today we have come into Queenscliff to have a look at caches around here. After lunch we returned to the area to continue the caches along this side of the peninsula. We found one of the G2Q caches but couldnt find the next so continued on to this cache whilst sending a "help" message to another cacher. Once we arrived here we looked around for a little bit then consulted the clue. Ahhh ok that narrows it down ... or does it lol ... Is this the "sebag" or is this the "sebag" lol Eventually GMelb spotted something in a spot I had looked but being vertically challenged I hadnt seen what was there lol Great hide and a Fave Pont coming your way once we have one! Ok Back to the G2Q one now armed with some extra info! TFTC AusFox; - GJMMelb

Spending a few days in Queenscliff with a muggle friend and our dogs- had to get a few caches in. This was my second for the day. Have done a few on the rail trail in previous visits but not this one. Lovely spot, great views. An easy find thanks to the hint - loved it. TFTC AusFox!

In town for a non-geocaching event, I took the opportunity to make a weekend of it, and find some caches in the area. Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 joined in with the fun. Despite the rather high winds, we got the e-scooters out to attempt a few caches along the rail trail. A fav point for this one. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, AusFox; ~~

A need for a walk despite the forecast of some showers in addition to an afternoon CITO saw me travel over the Westgate and down to Geelong as well as Queenscliffe for the purposes of a challenge I am mindful of and I suppose fitfully working towards.I can't say I am too enamoured of the freeway connecting Melbourne to Geelong - on the one hand it's flat as a tack and fairly boring. On the other hand one still needs to concentrate because the road surface undulates just enough for the need to keep one's focus. Mercifully it is an hour so over with reasonably quickly. My logs will include this standard blurb and then a comment or two about each cache separated from this blurb by a dividing line. Thanks to the COs for putting out various caches creating an incentive to visit some very picturesque spots.---I can see why this one has ALL the favourites Smile I think I'll add another point to the pile Wink

Our original plan before leaving on this caching trip to the 'big island' was to ride quite a large section of this rail trail. But yesterday's weather put a stop to that. Today looked more promising but we only had 4 left to do on the section we targeted. We decided to ride anyway and this was the first cache we looked for.And what a great cache to start with. Thanks for that and a set up we hadn't come across before.A favourite point well deserved.

It is so peaceful here! I wish I hadn't read the hint so quickly!

While over this way visiting friends in Freshwater Creek had to get some caching done as well. This afternoon it was the G2Q (Geelong to Queenscliff) Rail Trail, had brought the Ebike along to assist. Drove over to the Queenscliff end, unloaded the bike and started looking and riding towards Geelong. Didn't get as far as hoped before it was time to return to the car to get back in time for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of hides, some of which took longer than expected to find, and am looking forward to getting back sometime to complete the series. Thanks to AusFox; for adding this cache to this excellent series.Cache #14585 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Spontaneous Spring Victorian RoadtripDay Five: Morang to Ballarat via QueenscliffWeather: Perfect for geocaching. One of six caches that I found today along the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail Trail. A great trail here with plenty of variety and clever hides. I regret not having the time to do more, but I have to be in Ballarat tonight. A nice spot away from the cyclists, and a clever hide too. I doubt that I would have found this one without a hint. A favourite. Down in Queenscliff for a weekend break with my family... and after lunch it was time to start heading home... except for me! I had 8 more caches to find in Queenscliff so I could cross off the Borough for the WCW - The 80/20 Rule Challenge. With plenty of caches along the G2Q Rail Trail to choose from, I was back for more... only two more to go when I came to this cache... and what a beauty it is! Definitely worth a Favourite Point.

Thanks **AusFox! (VKC1SR)** for a very clever cache.

On the way past the first time I thought we would stop on our return to check out what the platform offered not realizing at the time that it also had a cache hidden here.
On our return we made a quick find with the hint.

In Queenscliff to meet one E of iTEEM who had been to a wedding in Sorrento today and was returning on the last ferry.
A lovely stroll along the largely deserted trail to GZ on this pleasant evening.
I couldn't spot the attachment described in the hint, it had been tucked away so well, but observed the container itself in it's neat hiding spot.
Thankfully no muggles about to hamper my retrieval, signing and reset.l
A clever means of secreting a familiar container indeed. A fav from me.

In Queenscliff for a few nights. I suggested going to Sorrento today but Geo-teen wasn't keen - I don't fancy my chances at getting her into the kayak either I'll take a small win from getting her on the mtb. This cache is ingenious & very much deserves the fav point from us. Many thanks

Back in the Queenscliff LGA because we didn't get enough geocaches in the area because the music festival stopped our plans. As such this time, we came early starting at 7.30 am.

Best hide on this trail we have found. Absolutely enjoyed this one and it is a lovely lookout. Giving a favourite point for best cache found this holiday.

A muggle (local) found me and wondering what I was up to. Lol. Had to tell him but not sure he got it.

With a group of scouts hiking to Geelong. While they hike and I support, my support is geocaching and catching up in the car. Lol.

Hopefully get a few done today.

Enjoyed a day out with ilukaperi finding geocaches in Queenscliffe today. I had only ever found a handful of geocaches in Queenscliffe before, so that's why the location was chosen. Plus it was a good day as it had been 16 weeks since my last geocache find. So it was nice to be out again.

A nicely constructed cache, well done!

On a road trip to Bellbrae (Torquay) and the Surf Coast and today we took a side trip to Queenscliffe. We parked near the road to Swan Island, and went for a short walk along the trail to our furthest point in case the heavens opened, and then picked up the three caches on our walk back. If it hadn't been for the threatening rain we would have walked further. Once in the vicinity of GZ Mrs Pooky headed straight for the likely hiding spot without luck, then Mr Pooky spotted something in the same spot and further investigation revealed the cache. TFT well constructed cache and bringing us to this walking track, a favourite from us. We also visited 3 TB'S.

Thanks heaps to the cache owners for hiding these caches along this trail!!

I stared my journey early in the morning from Queenscliff in hoping to get as far down the trail on my bike as I could before the rain started to set in. Ended up making it almost to Drysdale until I got my first few drops of rain, so I decided it was time to start heading back. Made it to the car just in time before the clouds opened up and the whole place was soaked within minutes!!. Phew! Lucky I gave up on some of those annoying micros, they do my head in!

Sorry about the generic copy and paste logs, but all caches were in good working order unless otherwise stated. Thanks again cache owners for the adventure!

Find #4861. Found @ 11:48 with The Good Lady Wife

The family is on a mid-school holiday break since we can get away for this one, and chose the Queenscliff area to chill out (based on the current weather, that is literally as well as figuratively). Every break has to involve some caching so TGLW and I found a few caches while getting some exercise along the rail trail.

I got to the structure at GZ and spotted something amiss, but it wasn't anything to do with the cache. However, looking at the amiss-ness put me very close to the correct area where I spotted something else that led to the cache.

Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables.
Thanks for the cache AusFox;
