Geoturtle37, OzHockeyChick and myself are staying on the peninsula tonight. OHC needed to be in Geelong last night so GT37 and I headed down this morning to join her for some caching. This was found and replaced without realising. A second look and this time we noticed what had been missed. Thanks for placing this cache for all to enjoy.
In town for a non-geocaching event, I took the opportunity to make a weekend of it, and find some caches in the area. Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 joined in with the fun. Despite the rather high winds, we got the e-scooters out to attempt a few caches along the rail trail. Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, AusFox; ~~
Found while out on a run on the rail trail. Took a little bit to find the right tree. TFTC
While over this way visiting friends in Freshwater Creek had to get some caching done as well. This afternoon it was the G2Q (Geelong to Queenscliff) Rail Trail, had brought the Ebike along to assist. Drove over to the Queenscliff end, unloaded the bike and started looking and riding towards Geelong. Didn't get as far as hoped before it was time to return to the car to get back in time for dinner. Thoroughly enjoyed the variety of hides, some of which took longer than expected to find, and am looking forward to getting back sometime to complete the series. Thanks to AusFox; for adding this cache to this excellent series.Cache #14599 for me.*This log composed and published using GSAK (Geocaching Swiss Army Knife).*****SAs Leap Year Event GCA1DNA - keep the date free - 29th February 2024. Cant wait!!****
Spent about 5 minutes looking for this one, long grass and flies put us off a more intensive search, maybe another day we will be back. Thanks for placing
Out for a ride on our ebikes what a beautiful Spring day. We really enjoyed riding along the rail trail today we found a few caches and had some DNF's as well . I eventually ran out of battery on my phone so we will have to come for another ride and find the ones we missed TFTC
A nice quick find as I look to complete another section of the rail trail. TFTC.
We are visiting Geelong area for a few days and staying not too far from this part of the rail Trail.
Sadly, we don’t have our bicycles with us, but since it is definitely not a hot day, we decided to walk this section of the rail Trail up and back.
It provided us with some good exercise, some beautiful tree lined pathways, and, on occasion, some shelter from the very blustery wind today.
We also managed to fit in some great geocaches placed for the cyclists. We found each of them in this series to be well cared for and with good coordinates.
We say a big thanks to those who have placed this series, and kept it so well maintained. Thank you!

Unpleasant fruit less search around GZ and surrounding - could not see hint..tried to go with hints from previous finders but that didn't help either. Oh well you can't win them all.
Easy find, a bit of vegetation to get through but nothing too bad.

Well, what a day. As I sit and type this, I look down upon several mosquito bites, a long, bloodied scratch on my leg and the aftershock of an actual electric shock. Have I been on a Commando course in the jungle? No, I’ve been caching along the Bellarine Rail Trail (amongst other places). Returning to the area after being locked out of the country for two years, it was great to finally reunite with Ketchthor to continue our occasional caching adventures in this part of the world. This is a generic log for all the caches that we found today. Setting off around 9 am, it soon became apparent that our expectation of a reasonably straightforward stroll through the Bellarine countryside was well off the mark. It became hot quite quickly; mosquitos were out in force, and there were a few hidden ‘natural’ surprises at a few cache sites. The worst was a lizard guarding a cache and refusing to move. We spent about four hours walking along the trail and then back along Knights Road to look for the ‘Do you Believe in…’ series. At one point, I managed to come into contact with an electric fence. It didn’t look like an electric fence, obviously – although I now realise that I don’t know what an electric fence looks like—what fun. Some of the GZs were waterlogged and prohibited access but we managed to find most of what we looked for. Despite the bites and scratches, it was a fun morning and as always, I'm really grateful to the cache owners for taking the time to design, place and maintain the caches. Thanks to all!!
aketch1 (from the UK) and I decided this weekend was the right time to continue tackling the G2Q series and a smattering of other Bellarine peninsula caches which we started in 2016.
Despite relatively cool temperatures for this time of year, the caching journey was quite the grind with the recent wet weather posing consistently thick vegetation, a mosquito paradise and the constant threat of dangerous creatures. Added to that was aketch1's electric fence zap, a stubborn lizard causing chaos at a GZ and a pack of chicken defending 'livestock guardian dogs' not too happy about the presence of geocachers.
Thanks to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining a variety of hides. It's much appreciated.

Was having a bit of trouble, but then past logs helped me to expand my search radius and find the cache. All in good condition. TFTC
Mr H keeps making quick work of his as we are rotating who finds them so someone can stay with our stuff! Loving this trail! Thanks for placing and maintaining these caches

Hint should be updated Day 3 of my early mother’s ride on the Bellarine Rail Trail trying to knock out sections of the trail while I’m visiting my daughter. Was concerned that the morning was going to be pretty uncomfortable with strong winds and drizzle, but fortunately the wind held off for a pleasant almost 2 hrs while I cached my way out then road back!
This was a frustrating hide, and spent more time here than I wanted to. Eventually found the hide, and while the hint is valid, I feel it may need to be updated in order to allow for the current situation here.

With a day off I have come to make a start on the rail trail. A nice warm day with lots of people riding up and down the trail. A lot of trees have fallen over the track from the massive winds last Friday but people have made new tracks around the trees. All caches found were in good condition, logs signed and replaced where found. Thanks for getting me off the couch and exploring this great area.
Thanks heaps to the cache owners for hiding these caches along this trail!!
I stared my journey early in the morning from Queenscliff in hoping to get as far down the trail on my bike as I could before the rain started to set in. Ended up making it almost to Drysdale until I got my first few drops of rain, so I decided it was time to start heading back. Made it to the car just in time before the clouds opened up and the whole place was soaked within minutes!!. Phew! Lucky I gave up on some of those annoying micros, they do my head in!
Sorry about the generic copy and paste logs, but all caches were in good working order unless otherwise stated. Thanks again cache owners for the adventure!

Found reasonably easy. Would be cautious on a really warm day. Thankfully it is cool enough this evening for the risk of snakes to be reasonably low. On a warm day, I probably would have kept on walking and headed to the next cache in the series. As you can see from the photo the views along the Bellarine Rail trail a fantastic. Yet another reason why this peninsula is the best that fronts onto Port Phillip Bay. When approaching this cache we had to pretend we were having a drink break as a couple of muggles were wandering past. Not many people along this part of the trail this evening which is our preferred amount of traffic. The cache is in really good condition and the log is nice and dry. TFTC #108
Geosense seems to be a bit off kilter today, struggling with the bigger ones.
Found lots of pointy, pokey and thorny bits but alas, no cache.

Great day for a long bike ride. Really enjoyed these cache hides along the trails.some hard and some harder.
Thanks for your efforts in placing these for us to look for.

Since the day we booked the air tickets for our current geocaching holiday to Australia we had been looking forward to hiking and geocaching the Bellarine Rail Trail. We finally arrived in the area last night and so this morning we parked up in Drysdale and hiked to Queenscliffe then took a taxi back to Drysdale at the end of the day (the following day we started in Geelong and hiked to Drysdale to complete the trail). We throughly enjoyed the hike in some truly lovely Australian weather and of course we also found many geocaches, and so many thanks to the COs for having provided us with the opportunity to have enjoyed yet another great day out geocaching! It didn’t take too long to home in on and locate this one once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and greetings from Zimbabwe
Out on the deadly today to do as many of the C2Q series from Drysdale to Queenscliff before catching the train back, most were quick easy finds while a few took five minutes or more til they were found,

Out for a days caching with 6hinemoa2, bogonghazy and Tess. Still have a lot of these caches to complete but chipping away at them slowly
3rd cache for the day. Another great find. Had some pretty good stuff inside to trade but forgot to bring things to trade. Very windy but still good fun. Thanks for the cache.
TFTC Ausfox!. GPS has me in the middle of Barwon Heads now. Thank goodness for N04’s GPS. Jimmytherat with Noelle04.
This log is to tidy up a mess I made with GSAK . I forgot to apply the template so my finds were published with a nonsensical log.
Rather than try and edit all the logs I post this not with what the log should have been.
My apologies for the confusion caused.
A few days away with Freddo, e.gregory1 and The White Dog Gang.
Fun was had by all. Not too many dnfs
Most logs signed as FETT.
Thanks for all the caches.

Found on a short, post-Christmas sojourn to Victoria with Freddo, Team Waldron and thewhitedoggang that involved plenty of driving, cycling, walking and even some boating and wading.
The weather was on our side (albeit a little warm at times), which made for some great caching. There were plenty of varied finds, with some excellent and often tricky hides and and just a few DNFs. We signed most logbooks ‘F.E.T.T.’
Thanks AusFox for the cache.

We made it 8m away.
Our first visit to Victoria so we thought we'd head to the Bellarine rail track for a caching bonanza. Had a great day with 56 finds; quite a few dnfs as we rigidly applied Draper's rule which says "no ......... shilly-shallying!"
Used (hired) electric bikes, a first for us, and can only describe them as like cruising on a Harley; virtually no energy expended, and so easy to use.
Only downside was that it was a tad chilly. Only 16 degrees when we got back to the car whereas at home in sunny Serre Chevalier at 1400m today was 21 degrees!
Many thanks to all the local placers and apologies for the generic log, but time is precious and the Great Ocean road beckons.

On our weekend to Queenscliffe with our new bikes we chose this track to ride on the nicer days of the cold rough weather. The posts for these will be generic sorry but only 2nd time riding and caching - a little harder to manage. I will say that we had alot of fun and enjoyed the various cammo. We also got to see the old train go by and will earmark the rest of the trail on return to the area. Tyftc

With the goal of reaching 3000 finds at our event in Melba Gully, with the glow worms tomorrow, I was out today needing 30 odd caches so that could happen.
With Ausfox; needing to do a maintenance run and me needing some find today we got both achieved.
As I opened the container the clip broke. Lucky I was here with the CO who replace the container. Even if I did cop some ribbing for breaking the container
Thank you Ausfox; for keeping the trail current

On what started out as a cloudy threatening sky, ended with a perfect caching day.
This will be generic, so apologies in advance. Thank you to all the CO's for their hard work and maintenance. We will keep you posted if we find any issues and/or anything of interest. Us geriatrics need some motivation to get out there and combine with some pedals is fantastic.

When the G2Q Series was published, just before Summer 2013, I was keen to get on the trail and find all of the caches in the series. It's now September, 2017 and I rode my last section today. There have been some DNFs I haven't rectified and some smaller sections (towards the Geelong end) that I've yet to check out, but this is pretty much it for the trail for me. An oldie! I'd found a few of these before the trail was expanded. Thanks for the cache, and contributing to the series AusFox.

I cycled from Queenscliff to Leopold on the Trail today, then caught the Heritage Train back from Drysdale at the end of the afternoon. Lots of other folk out enjoying the sunshine as well. A great way to see some of the countryside and find “one or two” caches along the way. A most enjoyable caching experience. Cheers and TFTC
I did resort to the hint and checked all the options. In the end I found it 7 metres from where my gps said. But it's signed. Tftc
Another quick find. Some activity on the railway line as locomotives X3 and X20 (ex Tasmanian Railways X Class Bo-Bo locomotives) passed by. TFTC
As I approached GZ, I thought, oh no, not somewhere in there. Eventually GPS settled and I was able to zero in with the aid of the hint. TFTC
Great day outside with our rented bikes. While staying in Geelong, Primile had the idea to do this trail. We had a lot of fun. Sorry for the similar logs. Many thanks to AusFox and greetings from Austria
Staying on after the Surf Coast Event we explored this area using geocaching as a guide. Today we tackled this series and enjoyed the variety of hides and the challenge of finding them. We enjoyed the walk along the Bellarine Rail Trail today finding some more of these G2Q series.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Yeah, it’s Mega Time, here in the area for The Surf Coast Event this coming weekend but I have a week off in the lead up and so there I a little to organise but mostly it caching.
Today MuggleWifeDoes and I have teamed up with gmj31891 and PamJ to ride the latter part of the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail Trail starting at Curlewis and finishing at Queenscliff. Time however got the better of us and we needed to skip a few at the end to finish before dark, these we will need to return for on another day along with those in the earlier stages.
It was a glorious spring day on the Bellarine Peninsula and the ride was mostly downhill and slow due to the fact that we were stopping every 200 meters (on average) to search for geocaches.
We stopped for lunch at the lake and Drysdale Station, what a beautiful view, no time for a wander or the caches around the lake, we just enjoyed the serenity and shade of that big pine tree.
Thanks to the entire group for their work on the rail trail caches in the area, it is a definite attraction to bring seekers to the challenge.
The cache finds were shared by all with individual cache senses activated by the variety of hides, always changing, always slightly different.

My fifth day of my geocaching holiday. Some of my chosen caching grounds ended up a bust, but I found other places to hunt.
I finally had a chance to use my bike. After finding some of this series yesterday, I found a good location in the middle to continue on with. Over all I only covered 10Km of the trail, of which I had to ride back to return to my car before it got too dark. On the way I caught up to another geocaching party who I joined for the last 3 caches.
Thanks for all the caches!

After arriving at Anglesea on Tuesday, we set up camp and went caching with BernieH and Annie aka MuggleWife on Wednesday. We started half way through the Geelong to Queenscliff Rail Trail series. Out on the 2nd day for the bike ride with geojill_11 and 4bait, we started from drysdale and finished not far from queenscliff we got just over 60 for the day beating yesterdays record of 53 which makes just over 100 caches for the weekend, making crack the 500 cache mark thanks for all these caches (keeping the logs short and sweet... like me)
hint needs updating as it is misleading otherwise the cache is in the wrong spot TFTC

Out and about on a caching run over a cold weekend with 4bait and Mark 9375. TFTC. Love the trail
This was my main caching block for a family weekend away. I had about two hours to ride as far up and back the rail trail and collect as many as I could along the way. The weather was not very helpful with showers along the way and it got even chillier as the dark closed in. I made a pact with myself not to dwell on those I couldn't find so as a result I ended up with 18 finds and 5 DNFs along here. This was the seventh find and after a bit of searching I was able to make the find. Less trickier than some nearby I found! Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for contributing to this series VKC1SR and to AusFox for keeping this cache going.

Day 3 of our geoholiday in Victoria and today we are tackling the other half of this bike track, we started at G2Q Curlewis: End of the Line and finished at Queenscliff, we took our time riding the track taking in the sights, found the hides quite different to what we are use to back home and there are some really brilliant hides along here, the weather was great for us while we were here and each day was in the low 20s which made for great bike riding, a huge Thank you to all the COs that placed these caches for us to find.
