Logs
I see this cache is on a list of archived caches where the container is still in situ and available to be found and logged. I regret to to advise that this is NOT the case. The container was removed soon after the cache was archived.
We are archiving this cache as we no longer want to be involved in geocaching. We have just discovered that we have had another offensive log posted about us, this time by WEKA. The idea that we are just UNCLE with a different username is not going to go away no matter how many times we try to explain. We started geocaching with UNCLE about 12 months ago because of our shared interest in motorcycle adventure touring. Geocaching seemed to complement that really well. We didn't set up our own account as we were happy to tag along with him but we did pay for a premium membership on his account as we thought it would make planning rides easier. That is the reason we took over the account when he decided to stop caching. Our plan was to set up our own account once the membership expired. The numbers aren't important to us. We changed the username because we aren't UNCLE. We adpoted his caches and agreed to look after them but we are not prepared to do that anymore. We kept out of the politics but it seems the politics won't leave us alone. We read about allegations of bullying in geocaching in the newspaper the other day and after the way we have been treated by woody104 and WEKA we are starting to see what was meant.
Nice walk in this morning. What a neat site. A lot of effort must have gone into setting up this water supply for Seacliff. TFTC
An easy walk on a warm day with both Daywalks, The Rustle, Vicky and Caro. Very smart new container and logbook thank you! The last time we were here was when the children were preschoolers, and we were very proud of them walking the steep track.
Popped in to replace the wet log. Ended up replacing container and leaving a fresh logbook.
Kindy holidays so decided to see how far the oldest Cumbyrocks Jnr could walk. He did very well down to this cache and even made it to the Walkways cache and back up the hill - not bad for a 4 year old! Cache was a quick find and coords were spot on for us. Ventured up to see the dam - that is a lot of water in a small space! Absolutely amazing what lengths they would go to in the past. There must have been considerable money flying around back then.
Cache log is quite damp and could probably do with a replacement or drying out. I was still able to write in it using the pencil though.
Thanks for the cache - an excellent walk and a great place to visit.

Cache log is damp and needs replacement or drying out. Unfortunately I didn't have my emergency kit with me today - I had to carry a child instead.
An oldy but a goodie! Never ceases to amaze me the hard graft that was put in back in the day with basic equipment. How would you get that much concrete to here ??
A worthwhile visit - thanks UNCLE

Nice easy walk down but a bit harder on the return journey. Great place for a cache. TFTC
Nice walk into the cache . A bit harder coming out. Great spot for a cache. Dropped of a couple of trackables. TFTC
Thank goodness the hint was fairly explicit as I had left the GPSr back in Dunedin (doh!). Only two loggers in the past year in the cache logbook (only one online) shame as it is such a nice wee spot for a walk.
Even though it's been found recently I was in the vicinity so thought I'd do a maintenance check. Cache is in good nick but trading items are depleted. Had nothing to re-stock it with unfortunately.
I love this place, every time I come here I remember the very first time I came on an outdoor instruction course.
Once upon a time I even bivvied here overnight on the grassy track below. I kept sliding downhill all night!
TFTC.

Very nice cache - probably one of the best I have done recently. It really is a hidden gem.

Great spot on a beautiful day, followed track to evansdale glen. Track is rough and you have to get your feet wet to make it all the way but a good adventure.

I managed to drive past the car park, but shortly realised my mistake. Car park area itself was a mud hole, so I parked up the road a bit. Track was wet and slippery, but not as bad as I expected. Didn't take too long to find the cache and great wee walk. TFTC.
There was a public notice in the ODT yesterday saying that the logging in the Carey's Creek area is now complete and the weekday restrictions are lifted (see my original log note). Although this didn't directly affect the cache it means you could now carry on down the track to Evansdale Glen if you so wished.
That was a great little walk with the Bell birds at full voice, sunshine, and feet slipping on all the wet roots! Yep, care required when track is wet . Nice bit of hidden history too. TFTC U.N.C.L.E.!

This is everything I like of caching: a good walk, a beautiful forest with birds, and an interesting bit of history I would have never learnt otherwise. Thanks U.N.C.L.E. for a great cache. It was nice visiting Donovan's Seacliff Hospital on the same day. It's all connected!

The places you have no idea exist, and still wouldn't if weren't for caching. Thanks for bringing me here, lovely walk.
Fantastic cache! The walk is beautiful and the abandoned dam completely surrounded by native bush is very peaceful and eerie.
We highly recommend this cache, but only if it hasn't rained in a day or two! Also, we're young but not very fit (yet, geocaching is changing that!) and it was abit slippery under foot; the round trip took us 50 minutes.

Got 2/3rds the way down the track to the cache then had to turn back as recent bad weather had the made the steep section of the track a mudslide.
Will be back soon with tougher shoes.

Our first ftf Found at 2.42pm this afternoon. Thanks for sending us to an interesting historic spot.
When cache was placed there was a temporary notice at the start of the track advising that, due to logging, the track was closed during working hours beyond a specified point. This point is well after the cache site. Therefore access to the cache site during working hours is fine. The closure would affect anyone planning to carry on to Evansdale Glen however.
