Well, the new box didn't last long...
The Botanical Gardens have become a lot more scrupulous about cleaning up geocaches since I first started this cache - to the point where it's not worth replacing the boxes because they'll be gone the next day.
I'll have to archive this one. It's a pity because caches help draw attention to sites of interest and the Botanical Gardens are well worth singling out to overseas visitors. Where else can you find glass pyramids and a flying fox colony right in the middle of a city?

Searched high and low but time didn't allow us to spend a large amount of time here. Did notice some pruning had been done in the area recently and wonder if it has been discovered and removed.
Second attempt at this one ,lots of people coming back and forth so didn't spend to long looking for this one, tried the hint but to no avail. Enjoyed smelling the roses anyway.
A brand new cache box is in place.
While c.j.b. and I were waiting for the Muggles to thin out so I could place the cache, a couple who turned out to be Us Mob asked if we were geocachers.
The plastic box must have been a dead giveaway.

I'll now have to replace this cache a day or so after New Year. The friend I was going to go with has done his back. Also, I'm worried that the New Year's Eve clean up will take the cache.
The area around this cache was severely depleted of vegetation by the drought, the extreme winter and World Youth Day.
I waited until a couple of weeks ago to give the vegetation a chance to grow back. Unfortunately, the gates had closed so I couldn't replace the cache.
I'll replace it before the end of December.

When I checked the log last night all was still OK Searched but could find nothing. When I got home I saw the owner had been there and is Disabled (the log).
Next time....
Next time....
Went to check on the cache today but it appears to have vanished.
I checked with the last person to find it, and it's clear that the cache has become a casualty of World Youth Day. (Lots of areas around the Domain and the Botanical Gardens are still fenced off and recovering).
Please bear with me while I set up a new cache box and find time to go back and replace it.

Sorry about the late log! Found this one with AlienRiders the other week. I love these old trees! Used to fascinate me as child and they still do.

Took nothing. Signed the cache and left a map of the botanic gardens I took from the nearby map dispenser. If you find this cache and the map's gone, you should be able to get a map from the dispenser anyway.
Nice cache. Interesting tree. I have to confess I'm more interested in the locations they're hidden than the caches themselves.

A lunchtime find. A bit muggly, but I was jogging so could discguise the grab and replace with a few stretches. Deposited a chinese coin and took the dinosaur. Log sheet is getting a bit ratty, but still signable. TFTC
I am a bit surprised that this cache is still there, since I found it quite visible from the path. TFTC.
TFTC...found with my daughter (j2garnett). What a beautiful Sydney. Logged in on a LONG June 30th---flying from Sydney to Atlanta (USA). Dropped the Scottish Thistle.
This one was fun - loved the botanical gardens. Found with Leafer54 when she dropped the coin. She's on her way back to the US so hasn't had a chance to log it yet. TFTC!
our Moreton Bay Figs are certainly grand looking specimens and don't they look like they would get up and move around when you are not watching...Coords spot on and it makes it easy when there are 2 of us to keep an eye out for muggles....T geocoin ....always enjoy this part of Sydney
A super cache and a nice hide, which we enjoyed finding while on a business trip from South Africa. Took two travel bugs which will go back to SA with us and left a dinosaur and a soldier to guard the cache. TFTC.
Stopped by to revisit this one as I was jogging right past it--much easier 2nd time around! Cache is good.
Another find after a fairly unsuccessful day. Drawn away from GZ by the amazing tree, surely it is hidden around there.
A good find though. TB's are still there and take up a lot of room.

Nice to explore Sydney via caches. Great Botanical Garden - thanks for the hunt. Left geo-coin Gc 0C21VD

11:13am. I think I would have really struggled here without the clue today. My GPSr averaged the location of the cache as S33 51.915 E151 12.786 (apparently to about 4m accuracy) but that was 50m from listed co-ords? Anyway I found it. Think I took a geocoin? Thanks for the cache and a walk in the park Charl

Easy find. I didn't see any of the inventory. No TB or coins. I didn't realize that there was inventory list until I was doing the log so mayby I missed out. This was my last of the day 7 of 8 so a little tired at this point and only thinking about the closest pub. TFTH TNLN
This tree had a few admirers while I was there today. I moved on the Koala TB. Thanks
Found easily, lovely day in the park. A few muggles around, but Georgie managed to not look suspicious.
Dropped off our new TB to start it's journey - he wants to get back to the UK, but wants to see the world first!

Quick grab. We'll be back to explore the park more, but the tree is incredible! TFTC.
This one was quit easy, but good to show my new trainee what that whole thing is about.
It's a pity we where to late to grab the coin...
Anyway, greetings from Germany and Holland

Our first of several today. No coins or travellers in it so we signed and dashed for the next cache. I saw a CF Geocoin had been in and out a few days back with Geoteens. Sorry I missed that coin!
5:23 PM - The Garden closing time was 5:30 PM. I was sorry we did not have more time to enjoy the Royal Botanic Garden during the day. This was our last cache in Australia. Thank you for placing it. (#1323)
Found it after a lovely early morning stroll in the gardens. Thanks for leading us here. Retrieved Back to Europe geocoin.

Neat area of the park except for the spiders! Had to wait out several muggles to make the grab. Dropped off TB trying to get to Australia. Is this close enough??
Thanks from San Diego, California!
Thanks from San Diego, California!
Great park here. Expected to see Pippin and Merry up on the branches here but they must have stepped out. We have Moreton Bay Figs in Santa Barbara California where I am visiting from but none in this kind of setting. Thanks.
Not too much trouble with muggles at 0930. Great Botanic Gasrden, enjoyed it immensely. TFTC, TNLN
Great location for a cache. We sat down and waited for a few muggles to pass and then nabbed the container. Left a Sydney geocoin and took a travel bug. TFTC.
It's busy in this park with joggers at lunchtime, but luckily this cache could be reached pretty subtly and without notice. Grabbed a couple of geocoins. TFTC! Loved the walk through this park.
[Start of a Picnic day out for the triple2threes and waiting to to be joined by the boys. Found by Kiddo] half meter from Bed 66 [took “world†key ring and left sheep. SL]
Great place, great cache. We walked on the grass, and hugged some trees Also left some TBs and geocoins. TFTC
Apologies for the late logging of this cache - last year was manic. Its bringing back lovely memories though logging them on their anniversary.
This was made much easier by the clue. What a great spot, we've really enjoyed our brief visit to the gardens - a shame out time is short and we can't wander round for much longer. TFTC.

After doing a fair bit of leg work prior to this one it was a welcome suggestion to sit down and enjoy this beautiful park, I can't believe I have not been here before, I'll certainly be back, Nice cache Thanks for bringing us here.TNLN SL
Found after a lovely stroll in the park, sat down and enjoyed the view. TFTC SL Left Coin
We had a wonderful walk through the garden (for the second day in a row). It's been our favorite part of our trip to Australia so far. Wonderful views, cool flying foxes, spiders, galahs, and so much more.
We saw this cache in our gps, and didn't know the info but thought we could wing it. Fortunately it was quick and easy to get to. We didn't realize that it had a LOR theme until now.
I dropped of the Whitby's July Geoswag Coin and Pin Club Geocoin here. It wants to travel to Germany. Thanks!

Our first cache in Australia while we are here on holiday. The Royal Botanical Gardens are beautiful, thank you for helping us make sure we saw them. We took a purple shark puzzle toy, left 5 globe keychains and signed the log. We LOVE Sydney!
13:30 Very high muggle traffic made this a difficult retrieve and replace. But as we looked like tourists we were generally ignored! TN, left Euro 2 cent coin. TFTC
Found my first solo cache with the clues given. Dropped off Hot Penguin TB. Took a Pathtag coin.

Yesss, I found my first ever cache! Nice spot and easy to find for someone new. It was disappointing to see muggles climbing all over Treebeard but otherwise a fun adventure on Sunday afternoon in the city.
We are new to geocaching so this is only our second find. first attempt DNF then went home to look at hint and google earth. the next day we found easily. Did not take anything because we didn't have anything. We are going to look into ordering our own geocoins. thanks for the good cache!
B-Team find while in town for a quick work visit. A surprisingly quiet location to complete caching business given the amount of people enjoying the local attractions. TNLN Good Luck!
The 20th of 25 finds, 3 DNF and one DNA (did not attempt) during our 4 day trip to Sydney and return.
Another Sydney cache, another big tree..... but wait.....what's this....... the container is a little bigger than usual. Room for swaps.....great.
Sat at GZ, fumbled around and came up with the goods.
Took TB (interesting one that it is) and left pathtag.
TFTC.
Cheers,

Dropping TB while enjoying a 2 week cruise of Australia ans New Zealand. It looks like someone has already picked up the TB I left. SL TFTC
Walking home from work on a friday evening, loitered for a few minutes untill the coast was clear, then quickly dug it out of its hidey hole.
Nice easy find at 1840hrs as you could see the cache under the bush.
I took a TB - Little Miss Jumpy that isn't logged in the cache yet. I'll wait and see when its logged and it can come back to QLD with me next week. The cache was returned with a bit more cover. I didn't see the other mentioned travellers.
