Found it Finally - last time i tried this cache I approached from the west & the track was blocked by a huge puddle , but attacking it from the lake end was successful Smile the contents are very soaked

12-Sep-10
contents all very sodden , couldn't sign the log book so I left a few notebook pages inside a seal-it bag - need a good dry out

After a short with my young geocachers, came across the cabbage tree! great to see this track open all the way to the bridge.

13-Jan-10
This one was quite easy to find. We left a tortoise keyring and took the ketchup car. Cool

01-Jan-10
thought it was a good day to go check some caches.. all new fun things put in container

08-Nov-09
Walked in and gave GZ a ggod search to no avail. Bit disappointed after having to walk in and having found the "Why Here" cache with no lid and the unprotected logbook lying nearby.

20-Aug-09
Fortunately this cache is far enough away to have been unaffected by the massive clearance which has occurred. We found ridders76's comment useful. TFTC

28-Jan-09
Parked by the locked gate at Lake Hood and walked along - less than 1km. Took a few minutes to find the box, but got it in the end.

09-Jan-09
Pays to note that the cache is about 1m from where the hint would indicate but still an easy find.

02-Nov-08
Found on a particularly hot spring day. Was a little tricky to find due to spring growth etc, but did find eventually and logged. TFTC

09-Oct-08
A interisting spot and a fun drive in and out of the cache site Smile

08-Jun-08
Had hoped to do a couple more caches out this way, but weren't sure of the access. Had an interesting drive in on the icey mud! At least we got to this one - which was a quick find for Annie.

Found after five minutes or so, not in the obvious place but not too difficult.

25-Mar-08
Hum bug, spent 30 mins in ever increasing circles around the obvious, but no luck for me. Oh well, next time.

28-Jan-08
Did this as the first of two caches. Easy jog in from the road. Took a bit longer to find as it wasn't in the obvious place. Then headed onto the more prickly one... Cheers Gav [1841]

Carried on to this one after doing WHY HERE. Nice easy walk and then just 10 mins to walk back to the car parked at lake Hood from this cache.

Thanks. Children pondered the clue then leapt about excitedly when they spotted it. Took cards, left cars. Signed log.

10-Sep-07
Drove down the obvious approach road, and bounced along a track in an ordinary low-slung car to within 20m of the cache. Picked up a few blackberry prickles for my cache-hunting effort. 12th cache of 13 for the day. No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf(928)

What a crazy ride going 4wding.
Lots of prickles.
Thanks for the cache.

Second find for our afternoon 4wd caching outing with rchdlyn and KingBobbo. Talk about adventure! Was going along quite happily bumping along our two boys in the back happy as then it got a bit muddy and we slid around going sideways at one stage. Approached gz went sideways again and got stuck. Had to get boys out as 2 year old was quite upset after all the sliding around bumping up and down was ok but sliding in mud not at all.

Found and signed cache, took crayons left childrens playing cards.

Another 4wd came along turned around and pulled us out backwards. They headed out the way we came and got stuck as we hadn't turned around at that stage we then got to pull them out. Original plan was to head on to WHY HERE but decided better of it and went of to Rakaia.

Enjoyed the drive in in the dark.
Cache took about 5 minutes to locate - well hidden given the size of the search area. TFTC.

1489. By looking carefully at the map we managed to find a track that took us close to this cache. we stopped when we came to a place where we knew we could turn easily and so walked the final 300 metres.
Took the Unite for Diabetes TB.
Thanks

So I parked near to "What The" on my Sunday morning quest for a FTF Hat Trick. Because of my hurry and parking spot, I had to make a river crossing to get to this cache. The crossing was ok as I found a spot where the water wasn't even knee deep Smile. Found this cache in exactly the place I expected! Thanks for #2 FTF for the morning.
