Ein schner Platz direkt in der Natur am Wegesrand. Vielen Dank I send greetings from Germany
Konnte gut und schnell gefunden werden. Alles in Ordnung. Vielen Dank. Greetings from Germany.
On the road to Bark Hut we went a bit further to look for this cache. And we found it very easily.Team Mavos- Albert and Maria
Found: 10.45Bird Billabong seemed a nice place to visit while on our way to Kakadu, and indeed it was. After finding and logging the cache we continued on the trail. It took relatively long before you get a glimpse of the billabong, but then you are rewarded with nice views! If you want to see the lake, but do not want to take the full circular path, you can better return after finding the cache en follow the trail in the other direction. We saw several crocodiles, spoonbills, several kinds of egrets and herons, darters and more.Out: nothingIn: hedgehog
Quick find after a short stroll. The bush is very dry here.Freddo and e.gregory1 were heading up the middle of Australia following Stuart's well trodden route. We were travelling in air conditoned comfort and style. No stale food. No camels to carry water. We were leaving the cold winter for the northern season.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is the twentieth and ninth day of Julius Caesar's Month in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a cool cloudy and raining. No wind today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. Found on a trip north from Adelaide for a few weeks with Freddo.A quick find here. Cache was in good order. Thanks NTSTROM for the cache.
OCW PelDroedGwin and BubbleandFuzzy for their first find. The track was closed however as it was only 90m to GZ and the ground looked dry we decided to go for it. Cache is nicely tucked away. Tftc
A return visit to Darwin with iluvtrekking, we were last here eleven years ago. The irony of the cache name made us chuckle because it really was a ‘wild goose chase’. We drive to the bird track but it was barricaded off with no vehicle or walking into the area. Pity there was no indication of the track closure at the entrance to the park. May be back in another few years!
Unfortunately we found the track closed, but still walked the short distance to GZ.
I regretted my choice of shoes (thongs) and so Mr C went through the undergrowth to GZ.
Eek he found a large snake curled up in a rockhole. Luckily it stayed there while he signed and replaced the log.
I waited on the path and once again regretted my shoe choice!

Sadly the track was closed for the wet season but the road was open (with no mention of the track being closed until actually arriving at the start)
Unfortunately the cache lid was off on the ground so the logbook was soaked and sadly we didn't have a spare log with us like we normally do. Hopefully the next finder can replace the logbook.
Dropped a couple of TBs into the cache to keep them moving.

After three days of walking and wonderful adventures in Kakadu, we are driving back to Darwin today.
Taking a detour here gave us the opportunity to come and visit another billabong. We will miss these once we head south again.
Before doing the walking loop, we came to collect this one and add our name to the log.
Thanks NTSTROM

Having a lay day on our trip to the top end in which we found a couple of caches not so far from our accommodation at the.Mary River Wilderness retreat. TFTC
TFTC. This was a nice quick find on a day I am spending out photographing birdlife in the wetlands.
A quick find, obvious from the track if you’re a cacher. Took a lead sinker, left a T-Rex. Enjoyed a quad bike ride to the lagoon as way too hot to walk. Saw roos, geese, hawks, egrets, plovers, a bower bird nest and a couple of jabiru. No crocs. Not a lot of water but the pink lilies and their huge leaves were swaying in the breeze. Nice bird hide but in a bit of disrepair atm. A fun time overall, TFTC.
After a couple of DNFs out on the highway, we were happy to make a quick and easy find here. Tftc
Nice easy walk to GZ.
Found pretty easily tucked away.
Cache is in good condition.
Visited 3 TB.

Came together with Laubfrosch and stopped at this cache on our way to the next billabong. TFCT.
We traveled through Northern Territory for four weeks. We started the journey in Alice Springs and drove to Uluru, Kata Tjuta and then to Kings Canyon, MacDonnell Ranges, back to Alice Springs, to Devils Marbels, Katherine, Katherine Gorge, Kakadu NP and then further on to Darwin. On the way we found some caches. This was one of them.
Hier trafen wir zuerst einen sehr fotogenen grünen Papagei und dann ging es weiter zum Billabong. TFTC!

TFTC Spotted by hubby. Apparently he has been on enough of these wild goose chases with me to know what to look for now haha! So many wallabies on the Hardy’s 4wd track which we also did today!
Today we explored Darwin and surrounds picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them.
When we arrived at the parking area we decided to do the walk into the bird hut, but within 20 minutes you could see the hut from this side of the lake. Being a very hot day we watches the birds around the lake, yep we saw a Jabiru, what a fantastic experience! We then headed back off to the cache and made an easy find at GZ. Took TB
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

After a short break it was an easy find. Unfortunatly i forgot my pencil. To show i was there i dropped a TB
After I camped at Shady Camp (great place but thousands of mosquitos..) I came to this place to do the walk. But it was already noon and to hot. So I'd just looked for this little box. Easy to find.
Leaving Katherine and continuing on 2018 holiday, we head toward Darwin where we will set up camp for a few weeks before heading to WA
Feeling lucky and blessed to have this opportunity
We wonder what the muggles get to see when they travel because we are being taken to some awesome spots

Wir sind zum ersten Mal in Australien unterwegs und sammeln gern mal die eine oder andere Dose, wie auch diese hier. Danke sagen wir allen Ownern für das Herführen und Pflegen.
Heading back to Darwin, we decided to grab this one for a break from driving. Coords were good and cache was found really quick. Discovered a nice path tag, so thanks for putting one here. Log signed and all back safe.
We like the Bird Billabong and all its animals so much, that we came here for the third time.
We found it on 09/16/2012 just because of this cache.
We checked the billabong and the box on 09/24/2013.
On 09/22/2016 the box was fine, but there was no pen in it.
We have never seen this area so green before.

Our current visit to Australia had been in the planning for over a year with the very significant help and advice from friends who live in Melbourne. The original plan was for a 2 month visit, but as things progressed we just couldn't help extending our trip to the full 90 days allowed on our visas - after all it's a big country and so much to see and do, especially with our favourite pastimes being birding, hiking and of course geocaching! Our journey started with our arrival at Perth airport followed by a day cycling around Rottnest Island before travelling on to Adelaide where we met up with our friends. We then continued on to spend some time on Kangaroo Island, before heading to Melbourne via Goolwa, Strathalbyn, Coorong, Mount Gambier, Cape Bridgewater, the Grampians National Park, Port Campbell, Cape Otway and Lorne, cramming in as much as possible on route. The second leg of our journey was a fabulous 9 days in Tasmania. Having then returned to Melbourne we set off on the third leg of our journey, which was to Sydney via Wilson’s Promontory, Lakes Entrance, Mallacoota, Pambula Beach, Thredbo, Canberra and Fitzroy Falls. We then spent a few days in Sydney with geocaching friends efore flying on to the Gold Coast for the fourth leg of our travels, that included visits to Lamington National Park, Noosa and an overnight trip out to Fraser Island. We then flew from Brisbane to Cairns, where we spent a couple of nights before heading out to the birding hotspots of Yungaburra and Daintree. Following on from a visit to Cape Tribulation we turned to Port Douglas. After a day out on the Great Barrier Reef we returned to Cairns for the flight to Alice Springs and the fifth leg of our travels, which was a wonderful week driving the circuit to and from Ayers Rock in our 4x4 camper. On returning to Alice Springs we then flew on to Darwin, where we picked up another 4x4 camper. We are currently making our way towards Broome via Kakadu, Cooinda, Katherine Gorge, Kununarra, Lake Argyle, Emma Gorge, the Bungle Bungle’s and Fitzroy Crossing. Our last two nights in Australia will be spent in Broome before we fly back to Perth, from where we will connect with the flight all the way back home to Zimbabwe via South Africa. We already know we can't wait to return!
This was a nice quick find at Ground Zero. Thanks so much for the cache, which having not been found for more than 6 months helps towards us qualifying for a Challenge cache.

A nice easy find but the billabong was too far to walk on such a hot day. TFTC.
If the hire car company hadn't given us the choice of a free upgrade to a 4x4 I don't think we would have done this cache. But as it was, we felt a bit braver to venture off the road and to do this cache. So thank you hire car company, and thank you CO!

Nice find. However container badly damaged and contents badly water damaged. Log books pages are all stuck together. Signed it anyway. Consider replacing.
A quick find on our way to Kakadu Nationalpark. The Cache can now be found again. But the Logbook is to wet for logging. Thanks for placing.

A short diversion along the dirt track to take a look at this location. The complete circuit was not yet open, but we were able to walk up to the billabong after locating the cache. Lid broken.
A short drive from the road and then a short walk to the cache. It is now reachable again but water has got inside and the log is impossible to sign. If it isn't going to be maintained, the kindest thing to do to this cache would be to archive it!
Unable to tackle this one because the site was closed due to wet season flooding.
decided to do a day trip out to Mary River area to see what was out here, spend some time with Mel....and maybe catch a glimpse of a croc ;P a great spot but didn't come fully prepared for the walk but will be back. Took the TB as well. tftc
