I had an old PQ on my device, so I did not realize that this cache was disabled. But I did not find the cache either. Has someone already removed it?

Cache is located on a boardwalk closely surrounding a Kauri tree, it is possible that people may come off the boardwalk and step on the roots. Track is part of the rahui.
This geocacher reported that this geocache should be archived. A community volunteer reviewer has been notified.
The cache is right beside a Kauri tree and the cache requires you to hunt around close to it's roots. Although the track is still open despite Kauri dieback concerns there is still a rahui in place to try to save the healthy Kauri and let the area heal.
Out for a walk to the waterfall with 100's muggles
Took a little while to find, but eventually found what I was looking for. Have been out here many times, but only the second time down this side of the stream.
Wow so many steps that are new. Thanks for the hide, another beautiful spot in the Waitaks!

After relaxing in Piha for many many days, it was time to find some more caches. Started the day by walking up to the Kita Kita Falls with Hans Burger, Andy and Chilli, former muggles, but already very interested in geocaching. After lunch I did a roadtrip from Piha to Bethel beach, finding many good caches on the way and doing some very nice walks. I walked the very easy loop around Cascade Falls, and the longer loop around Lake Wainamu, just in time for catching the beautiful sunset at Bethels Beach. Both of the hikes were really good, but I really enjoyed the Lake Wainamu-loop, I have never hiked around a lake that has been dammed by sanddunes. I'm really happy with the day, 17 geocaches, one new d/t-combination for my matrix and lots of beautiful views. Thanks to all the CO's who's been hiding these great geocaches.
About this cache:
I really really loved this waterfall. We did some sidetrips, so we could get to all the pools on the way up. I think it's my favourite waterfall, and another reason to love Piha. It took some time before we managed to laocate the cache. Nice hiding-spot and nice to find such an old cache. Tftc

Enough light to grab this with mrcleverclogs on the way to Piha for the weekend. Wanted to nab this before the rahui was placed and being such a popular track apparently 1200 people per day over Summer weekends it may close for a while. Moved the cache slightly as dangerously close to the Kauri roots. Now under corner right hand side approaching from the falls. Always a beautiful walk.
What a beautiful track. We have visited these falls many times and have never been on this track before. Thanks for bringing us here. Sl. Tftc
Ryan was out for a walk today and this was the destination. Beautiful day to be out and lots of stairs but well worth the effort. TFTC

I came out today with Bertie Blowfish, Pazzabella and Geocchi for a wonderful waterfall wander. As the sun was shining it was muggle central today but thankfully we had a window of opportunity where we could find the cache, sign the log and replace before the next lot came along.
The cache name says it all really. A very popular walk for the masses. Glad we sprayed our shoes before stepping round that beautiful kauri tree. Tftc
With Merlot, Pazza, Geocchi & geohounds ...and a seemingly never ending stream of Muggles walking this gorgeous track on this beautiful Autumn Sunday.
Luckily Geocchi was able to quickly retrieve the cache during a short lull in the traffic. Tftc

Fantastic walk on Easter Sunday such a beautiful walk with a great place to bathe the feet while you enjoy the view. Plenty of foot traffic, and cache was on opposite of water to us meaning we had to walk UP the thousand stairs. A bit slippery, but cache dry inside. Swapped treasure. TFTC
Once again I didn't take the road less travelled, until after the first road was taken. Story of my life...On a visit from Canada, really enjoyed this short hike. The rain held off until we returned to the car park.
During our fantastic NZ holiday trip we also visited Piha Beach and took a nice walk to the beautiful waterfall.

You're not wrong with the title of this cache!!! It really was a wonderful walk and we extended it by heading up to the upper pools after finding this cache. What an incredible area.
I had saved this to an offline list over th other side of the valley when I had a moments reception. Luckily I did, as there was none in this spot for me.
Jazzmo spotted the cache and one of her agile kids ferreted around under the structure to retrieve it for us.
Nice big cache next to a nice big waterfall. I love it.
Log book was chockers so I added part of a log book that I had in my bag for making cache notes. There are a few pages there so it'll keep things going for a little while.
Thanks for the cache and greetings from Melbourne

Great falls, awesome walk, never knew this was here! Sent a kid in to retrieve the cache. Nice size. Thanks
We went there for the falls and to make my mum happy I got this cache. Found a place to log, but there wasn't much left. Took the travel bug. TFTC
We've been looking for a place near water to drop our travel bug and this seemed a lovely watery place to do so. Great hike up on a sunny day. Tftc.
After tramping the long and hard way to the waterfall, we went the shorter way back. All of a sudden we got mobile coverage and could find this one! Nice place and nice cache! TFTC!
We could have missed this as there was no mobile connection at first, we had no offline list and we had not checked beforehand if there were any caches along the trail. Fortunately we got connection just in time as we passed the spot. Lovely location. TFTC!
Quick find thanks to the clue - nice and accessible. Out for a walk on Christmas day. Pretty cold and overcast though. TFTC.
We visited the waterfalls on beautiful sunny day, climbed the steep track to big pool below the top of the waterfall and had refreshing swim there - the temperature of the water was 15 Celsius . The cache we found easily thanks to good hint. TFTC
Enjoyed this walk to the waterfall today. The waterfall was in fine form after all the recent rain. Track was in good condition and lots of people out enjoying the fine weather today. Cache in good condition.
5min of looking and we found the cache! Fun stop on our way back from the waterfall! Thanks! Visitors from Canada
We stayed overnight at the nearby campsite and walked to the waterfall. We loved the trail and the waterfall. On the way back we found the cache and logged after we let some muggles pass first
thanx for placing a cache here

I always come for this walk but forget to grab the cache. Got here before the rush
Great little hike, we forgot how we like the New Zealand walks! Cache easily spotted, then on for a dip in the waterfall.

Wonderful walk through sun-dappled bush. The kids refused to swim at the falls after spotting an eel. Great excuse for some post-Xmas exercise and a cache.
Found this cache the morning of my four month-iversary with FoxyMel. She is amazing. I am so lucky.
There was a break in the weather so went out to check out Kitekite Falls as part of a bigger loop hike. After admiring the falls for a little while I went and located this cache. TFTC.
Cool find on a very cool walk. We introduced some muggles to geocaching as well. Love converts. TFTC
I've been meaning to do this one for quite a while. Along with kw12 we soon had this in our hands after a bit of going back and forth with the GPS bouncing around but hint helped. TFTC
This one was a lot more adventurous and took a lot longer than we thought, as the GPS was completely mucked up and couldn't find any satellites. Therefore, we had to find it just with the hint and the 5 most recent logs. We didn't know whether the cache was at the falls, or on one of the tracks on either side. We looked at the hint, which didn't help. We looked under all the corners on the boardwalk on one track, but there were no prominent corners. We cryptically worked out one of the logs, saying they went a particular way via cache. We then worked out it was on the opposite track, and soon had the cache in our hands. This cache took a lot more logic and time than we were expecting! TFTC.
Wow, what a great walk, nice and flat to begin with then a bit of a climb towards the end. We followed the signs to the falls and got some great photos. Than took the shorter track back to the car and via the cache. Had to wait for some muggles to pass before searching but found easy enough. More muggles while I signed log and then yet more as I was about to replace. Great spot, thanks for bringing us here.
We are on holiday from England, and after enjoying our visit to the wonderful Falls, we found this very well hidden cache on our way back to the car.

On an early morning visit to Piha, I decided to go for a couple of caches that I hadn't previously got around to looking for. All was quiet this morning as I walked through the pleasant patch of bush to this wonderful waterfall that I have never visited before! After checking a couple of spots, the cache was soon in hand. TFTC!
Only good thing about the rain fall of the recent days: KiteKite falls were having a lot of water. Left magic smurf behind.
Nice cache, a great day at the Hilary Trail walk, but it rain all lot. We're all the way from Sweden
Stopped here on my Saturday afternoon run. Had to wait for a couple of groups to decide which track they were taking before I could search. Reached and replaced the cache from the track. Uplifted Penelope Pig travel bug and will find her a new home.
The cache is still all warm and dry, if a but mud caked. In the interest of kauri protection, especially for the venerable biggie nearby, it should be said that you don't have to leave the boardwalk. I'm surprised that more people don't visit this cache. The waterfall is an amazing thing to see. Last time I was up here, we saw an eel in the plunge pool. It's Amazing to think that those guys can climb. Cheers for the cache.
Beautiful walk into a beautiful waterfall. Unfortunately found ourselves on wrong side of river, so had to backtrack to cross over Oh well exercise did us good
Out for a Group Hike in the area.
An event was on so had to be quick.
Lots of wasps in area but only stung once !!!!!!
Great spot. TFTC.

Nice find for our lightning process reunion group! Great that all these people are now so healthy that we can go for a 2 hour walk! Bye bye chronic illness!
Found this by accident when out with our scout troop. We were tramping and geocaching but I hadn't printed this one .We were waiting at junction when one of the scouts spotted the cache. T4TC.
While it was raining the three of us were sitting under an umbrella and eating cookies (we) and babyfood (our baby). Found the camo after our little lunch-break
Found with EdnSoapy who did not really approve as it encouraged finders to scramble about on the kauri roots. Thanks anyway. CBE
Very wet inside. Lost signal while walking down the track so had to guess where is was.
A beautiful walk through the amazing valley took us to this cache and of course the lovely waterfalls. TFTC
This was indeed a wonderful waterfall wander on a beautiful sunny day, made all the better by finding this cache along the way. Contents were a little damp and there was water in the bottom of the container. We tried to dry it out as much as possible but did not get all the moisture out.
Have often passed this spot so it was good to find a cache on the way to the top of the falls. TFTC
Another example of "we should have checked for caches before leaving home". We have been past here many times before and fortunately this time we had checked. An easy quick find, many thanks.
Very hot walk so needed a dip half way. Easy find. Came back along connect and home path.
A nice morning walk with a big group of friends with some really interesting conversations along the way. The waterfall made for a wonderful background to our costumes and the photos are superb. Thanks to Michelle & Dave for sharing their GPS information with me (Mrs Jacksonz).

Walking up to the waterfall for an unrelated activity (LARPing) Reveurs and I continued our longest streak. Definitely the only cache I have found while dressed as an Orc.
A bit of difficulty with the GPS in the trees, but an easy find when we got to the right place. Day 13! TFTC.

Was in the area with some friends checking it out for an event we are running, and couldn't resist stopping for a cache. Lovely walk, though a bit hazardous in parts, and the waterfall was very beautiful. TFTC
It was a nice day for a walk in the Waitaks this morning. Not wet, not hot, not too many muggles this early, just perfect.
I did the full circuit going to the cache via the Kitekite Track all the way to the Falls and then down the Knutsen Track back to the Kitekite Track but branched off onto the Byers Track. A nice circuit.
In: TB.
Cheers for the cache.

After a quick slog (30mins or so) through the mud and water I finally reached the water fall, took some photos and then moved on to the cache GZ. Cache soon in hand, very muddy but contents clean and dry. TFTH TFTC!!! TNLN
Was a great stroll and the waterfall looks just amazing after the heavy rain of the last days! Nice hiding spot, a classic one
Took the TB Duck out to find another nice place for it.

Turned on the GPS at the waterfall presuming this was where it was going to be. Was concerned that we had missed it when it turned out to be 100m away. Carried on with the walk anyway. Came to right vicinity and the clue was so good that it could only be in one place despite the GPS telling us 10 more metres. Pointed the 5-y-os in the right direction (out with first time cachers) and hoorah! Hope the first timers enjoyed their first experience. TFTC.
