US14 ET Highway Trip with Sol de Lune and Mtrax. Day 3. This was our first day caching, and it was full on desert caching with the Planes Trans and Automobiles series on the menu. We were surprised to be so close to the area the move was based on and the signs around lead us to believe the locals are still not happy. An ongoing disaster. Thanks.

2:27:00 PM: (207 of 209) Find#5593

Staying in Barstow for a few days so used it as a base to cache the area, Barstow day 2
headed out to do the planes , trains and auto series in our 2WD, with no real issues with the road

Sol de Lune definately wanted to stop at this cache because of the movie..

Logged as "SAM" which is a team of three Sol De Lune, Albida33 and Mtrax. Visiting the US as a team for the 2nd time, our mission to complete the ET series but before and after do some more exploring and geocaching along the way. Our tour starts around Barstow and a few days in Las Vegas before caching over to 29 Palms before hitting the ET Highway straying at Rachel and Tonapah.
Our second stage of our trip saw us doing a loop around Wyoming, Nebraska, Sth & Nth Dakota and Montana before finishing back in Los Angles, our finds for the trip totalled well over 4,000 geocaches.

Found with Albida and mtrax on day 2 of our 4 week 2014 US adventure. Logs were signed as S.A.M...

Enjoyed driving along the roads here and after arriving at the GZ, the cache was soon in hand. Log signed and we off to the next one.....

Great to be back in the area again and grabbing a few more caches.

Thanks for the fun and the find....

I remember reading about the huge amount of money paid out in the local paper. Latter saw the movie and enjoyed it a lot.

Always wanted to see where it all took place, but never got around to it, even tho we are locals. Thanks to Geocaching and your cache finally made it out here.

Also since this is numberf 900 for the Captain, wanted it to be special.

loved the hide and everything is in great shape.

Visiting California from snowy Ontario Canada and caching along the way. Loved the move and now the cache. Thanks for bringing me here, I would not have known this was the site of the film without the cache.

Caching across the Mojave, en route home to Yuba City after attending the Yuma event last Sunday. As I pulled up to the site, I was thirsty...but I decided to quench my thirst a bit farther down the road. Thanks for the kool cache.
