Logs
On a big day of Km’s during my
Holiday today to get 17 caches in 3 new LGA’s and also my second last date needed for my “date placed Calendar” challenge. I also shopped for supplies to hide 7 geocaches for you locals!
All caches were in good condition and any needing logs replaced- I did it! Some very interesting areas.
Looked for far too long in the wrong place before heading to a more obvious place.

I managed to get away for a couple of days to try abd build up the numbers for the year. I stayed at Orroroo overnight and made my way around the mid north.
All caches found were in good order unless otherwise noted.

Happy caching and safe travels!

Very interesting Tricky hide. Took a little while, then a light bold hit the brain and sure enough there it was hiding nicely. Tftc

Looks like the brief warm weather had gone and rain ️ is in the way so we are out with iluvtrekking grabbing finds while we can remain dry. Awesome views along this road. Thanks for the hide Chipalee
Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. We are enjoying our time travelling SA. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on a geo-guided tour.
Found with Martini.989, SnappyTomCats, TravellinBees, Chrispy89 while camping at Yacka for the weekend. TFTC!
Found as part of our annual March LW trip with Snappytomcats, martini989, chrispy89, future keith and travellinbees
Out caching with snappy Tom cats, 1/2 the travellinbees & Chrispy89. A bit of a scratchy walk to GZ but soon had cache in hand. TFTC.
Camping at Yacka for the long weekend with travellinbees, future Keith, chrispy98 and martini.989. Today we headed out to tackle a few caches with martini.989, including Rod, Tessa and Jack, chrispy89 and the C half of travellinbees. the P half and future keith stayed at camp to cook us all a wonderful roast meal for when we returned! Wasn't sure of why it was named it was, was explained that there used to be metal 'TeePee' like structures up here, which have now gone...Ahh that explains it!! TFTC
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location.
(HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do.

Well it’s 2021 and I have finally said good bye to a not so great 2020 and it was great to finally be able to have a reasonable holiday as I have not had a decent break since 2019.
Made to South Australia and finally crossing the boarder and then being greeted by a couple of very friendly SA police offices for which i had the official paper work to allow me to enter.
After making my way west along the Eyre Hwy I went as far as Penong and the Eyre Hwy which I have not travelled along since the late 70’s when I was on a holiday with my folks and this was the last holiday before I started full time work as a sparkie and finding a few caches as I go.
Geocaching when towing a van is not always easy and I have to be a bit selective on which ones I decide to try and find for safe parking purposes especially along busy highways.
So then it was down to the Eyre Peninsula to see the sites down there Venus Bay, Coffin Bay National Park and Lincoln National Park were some highlights and I will come back again to have a better look around.
So after nearly 2 weeks spent on the Eyre Peninsula it was time to start heading back to Victoria but another lockdown in Vic has just occurred so now to change my plans again.
So I rounded the bay and started heading back down the Yorke Peninsula to check this part out.
So after relocating to Crystal Brook I am able to spend the whole day exploring especially after having to wait to get 4 new boots fitted to the Geocruiser so I spent the morning on foot walking around the main part of town.
The weather has definitely warmed up a lot as it is now in the very high 30’s so definitely need to keep hydrated.
Finally picked up the Geocruiser and was now heading back to Crystal Brook but took another detour to find a cache then continued alone the dirt road to come out on to this Hwy and now to find some more
Taking the dirt roads is great as they are usually quieter to travel on.
I didn’t take the track up as I packed up the bottom and with this heat made a bit of noise in case there were any wriggle sticks around.
Walked up to the top didn’t spot Sitting Bull but I noticed this cache.
So after finally locating the cache I added my name to the log and on to the next one.
Thanks Chipalee TFTC.

Out doing some caching for the LGA Challenge, great place for a cache and I really like these type of caches, such a change from the ones hidden under a pile of rocks. TFTC
This weekend, I joined gridge98 on a quick overnight trip to Port Pirie. The plan was to geocache around the town, and then head across through to Jamestown via Gladstone and Caltowie in order to find a unique hidden month oldie cache nearby. We then joined the geocaching community at the Gawler dinner event.
Today, we got up early and spent the first half of the day travelling around Port Pirie. A few highlights were the views of the lead smelters, the historic main street, and wetlands. Once a bakery lunch was had, we headed east, and found a few geocaches in Gladstone, Caltowie, and Jamestown. We then left some time to visit Bundaleer Forest Reserve for the 05/2001 hidden cache, as that was my last remaining available South Australian Jasmer grid caches. We then drove the few hours south to the international geocaching dinner Gawler event, before heading home.
We elected to take the 4WD driveby route, and went up the hill. Once we stopped, we soon located the cache, with the cache container and logbook were in good shape. We tried continuing along the 4WD route, but a leaking pipeline meant water had flooded our route, and we felt it was safer to make a U-turn. Thanks Chipalee for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. This geocache was a bit of an oldie 05/2007 hidden cache too.

Managed to almost drive to GZ here. Arrived and look in the obvious spot but no luck. Moved a little and found the cache
After staying in Port Pirie last night, today Davidwazza and I set out to clean up port Pirie before making a long detour via Jamestown to gawler for an evening event. We had a few targets with a 2001 cache near Jamestown to collect and a few others. All up 68 finds for the day.
Thanks for the cache

Having a 4x4 makes getting this cache a lot easier & the views from up here are pretty good too.
After spending the weekend out with Geo hubby Animal62 gathering smiley faces all round Port Pirie we decide to stop off on our way home to grab this one & add one more smiley face to the map.

Took off to the North with Jack the Monkey, Sebastbat, and Purrfect Di today.
Dropped in on a medieval fair and saw cacher Chrispy89 along the way!!!
Thought we'd better find some caches too...
So off we went again, after stopping for some regional icecream
No teepees or bull here today, but we did find a carefully hidden cache on the hill.
Will have to smoke the peace pipe another day

We found a safe spot to park and made our way to the top of the cutting. It was a pity to see so many healthy weeds, particularly Californian thistles growing on the top of the cutting.
After surveying the trees close to GZ and finding nothing we moved out a few steps and spotted another possible hide and on closer inspection located the cache well hidden away.
We signed the log and returned the cache before admiring the view from our vantage point.
Thanks for this cache Chipalee we enjoyed our trot up the cutting. Sitting Bull was nowhere to be seen. This may have been due to the relocation of the teepees which were also absent from the area.
Container and logbook were in good condition.

So after a great weekend of fun, frivolity and food in Quorn we packed up camp and headed back home to Adelaide. We took the scenic route and found 33 caches on our way plus adding 5 new dnfs to our tally.
It was quite overcast but we didn't get wet so that was a bonus. It was nice to see some of these small country towns although we were quite underwhelmed by the Golden North factory at Laura we had been expecting something much grander and a nice ice cream cafe! We had a nice packed lunch at Wirrabra and finally arrived home at 6pm in time to cook a roast supper.
Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Quorn another part of the state we would like to explore further.
There was a blockage preventing us driving up (massive dead roo) so I braved the stench and walked up there hill where I found a very nice hide. TFTC Chipalee

AlphaDeltaIndigo and I spent the day trekking up to Quorn for this years June Long Weekend event. We spent most of the time attacking older caches with the aim of filling a few Jasmer grids, and a couple of unique and/or rare cache types.
This was find number 4 of 12 for the day for me. TFTC Chipalee!

I took the drive-by option today which was a little bit of fun. Nice to look down at the other cars racing past. Good hide between the pipes and the smoke signals. TFTC
It was dark by the time I got here, but went for a walk anyway. Cache spotted quite easily once at GZ which was good.
Thanks for the cache Chipalee.

It has been a while since we have done some serious caching so we decided to head north with earthlight for a few days and meet up with The X Trailers in Port Augusta as they pass through there on their journey homeward bounds to QLD and cache along the way, we have set up camp in Pirie and plan on grabbing a few of the local caches around the area, a nice quick find for us. TFTC
Took some time to find this one before reading previous logs then soon in hand tftc
Found by team Turbotobe's nd with invaluable assistance from stir fry. No teepees but great view of wind blowing through the crop from the track.
Thanks.

This one was quite an interesting hide. The GPS had no clue as usual, but eventually I found the cache. After extraction I dropped it while signing, and the cache got stuck on an odd angle and had to be retrieved with a stick. All in order now.

PS: Why do people have to put up photos
with the cache in hand and showing where
it is hidden.... Don't look at spoilers..

The Noodler has taking me out for a day geocaching having fun my first day out.
I enjoyed the stroll up the hill to view the views
No tee-pees or even a wig-wam seen [:o]
There were a few strange pipe formations poking up out of the earth
And the cache was a nice easy find ... TFTC !

Decided on Saturday morning to cache around some towns out towards Jamestown. After reading previous logs I expanded my search and soon had cache in hand. Cheers Chipalee!
Glad we read some logs, because we didn't see any teepees either [B)].
Searched in the wrong place for awhile, but expanded where we were looking and quickly located the nicely hidden cache .
TNLNSL.
The sun was moving higher into the sky now, but the air was still cold, so it was nice to retreat back to the warmth of the truck [^].
Thanks for showing us a fantastic view Chipalee.

Good hide. Not sure about the role of the 'tepees' in relation to the pipeline nearby?
Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia after having attended Oz Mega.
Camped at Murray Town in luxury with power and water we decided to head to Melrose and take the Bridle/4x4 trail to Port Germain today.
What magnificent views. Managed to grab some geocaches along the way before heading home via Port Pirie and Laura.

Spent an enjoyable day with Moses on the Move, travelling 400km over 14 hours, learning the history of the area and gaining smileys.
Thanks

No problems with sitting bull however bull carrying trucks go really fast on this road. Would have liked to have seen inside the teepees. Gave it a favourite out of interest in the structures.
As the sun was setting this was conquered ... Great location with a sneaky hide ... Look out for the Cowboys & Indians. Favourite effort Chipalee, when next in Adelaide seek and find the Olympic Go For Gold Challenges in the hills behind Waite & Springfield !
