Unfortunately due to a long term closure of the Manawatu Gorge to all traffic this one is no longer accessible. Farewell White Horse.
On way home from an over night visit with family in the Manawatu. Had a quick look but no luck. Didn't want to stay out in the cold wind to long. Next time. Cheers.
Travelling with Marisa&Kaleb to Winter Warmer event at Bridge Café she pulled in and nodded and it was soon retrieved, signed and re-hid. Going through the gorge we are always in a hurry or there is too much traffic so never stop. So I was glad Marisa was driving and insisted I get this one on the way to the event. What a great view of the river. Hard to imagine the size it grew to in the 2004 floods. TFTC
Moved cache location slightly to a weatherproof place, and out of sight. Same coordinates.
Couldnt find this one, looked at previous photos and had an idea where it should have been but couldnt spot it, Vistra had found it previously and couldnt spot it either
Quite easy to spot and has been found by accident by a few. Placed back so it was a little less obvious.
Fairly easy find, but a busy highway! Did a drive by first because of cars and then came back again.
Extra brave pants worn fr retrieval as I dnt do heights! Geocaching really can take you to new places.
Little bit of clambering required. Filled the cache with goodies for the next folks to find this. Tftc
I was on a day trip with my mum (SunnyBunny64) and Nickhbnz and his son Lucas. Love the PS3 swap!! TFTC
took a bit of searching, but eventually located. Kids loved that it was stacked full of cool trades.. thankyou for keeping it topped up! dropped a TB, and dipped some others. 25th find on our roadtrip to Palmerston North.
2 adult cachers and 2 geo kids on a road trip from Napier to Palmerston North seeing how many caches we can log on our way! Discovered a very cool mini PS3 model which one of the geokids claimed/'did swaps with' so she could have it for her dolls house back at home! She was more than happy with it and couldn't wait to inspect it further. As I type this the boy barbie is playing on it while the girl barbie is playing on her phone apparently haha TFTC
Out for a drive with Greenslime to get an Earth Cache, this one seemed like a nice one to do at the same time. Though we are only new to the Manawatu region, we have zipped through the gorge a few times without stopping. A good reason to get out and stretch the legs. TFTC.
#725 Was in the area with JimmyNZ so thought we would pull over for this one. Cache is in a nice convenient spot! TFTC!
Nice size but it took me much longer than it should have to locate this - The GPS was jumping around a bit so I jumped around a bit too!! If I had read the easy terrain rating I wouldn't have ventured so far down towards the river - but it was all good fun in the gorge today! TFTC, TNLN SL
Found while positioning vehicles prior to walking the Gorge Track. The river was low but still some white water. TFTC
Replaced the broken container, still 1 litre in size. Also replaced the historic log book which has been going since the original placement by Done and Dusted in May 2007! Tidied up the contents and added a few more trinkets. Ready and waiting for visitors.
The White Horse was rather a tame pony today. And my GPS would have sent me right into the middle of the stream. Luckily, I discovered the cache before I went too far down. Great view here. Thanks for the cache.
18182 km from home we found this Cache while our holidays. Thank you very much for hiding and greetings from Dresden, Germany!
Wasn't sure what the name was all about until I saw the rapids - pretty awesome. Been some years since I've been through the gorge, and I think that was at night. Cache took longer than it should have, but found eventually. Nice to nab an older cache.
TFTC!

Found with anv1l after doing the Tawa loop walk this evening. TFTC. The box lid is broken
We were out for a nice evening gorge walk with Z1mbos and thought we had better come to get this cache while we were here . tftc ,needs a new lid
After a short hike in the Ruahines this morning, I stopped for a few caches on my way down to Masterton for the night. A quick find here! I enjoyed this one and the great view - favourite point added! TFTC!
Finally managed to stop and pick this one up after driving past it in the wrong direction several times. Quick find on the way to the Winter Event. TFTC
Hit the road this morning with Princess-Emily from a night stop over with family in Masterton. Had been looking forward to this day all week and had much planned, working up to the MGC Winter Warmer just out of Woodville.
Having just attended this lovely event we meandered our way home collecting a few caches along the way.
Had to find a turning point further down for this one, a quick U turn and then back to GZ on the other side of the road. I do believe my geo-driving skills are on the improve! We both did get 'down and dirty' for this one. A quick find and squeals of delight from Princess-Emily with this well stocked cache ... decisions, decisions. Sat and filled in the logs while taking in the lovely view of the white water rapids. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely spot off the side of a very busy road and TFTC

I liked this cache. Got to climb down and when we opened the cache it was like Christmas ... woohoo. Just-Lookin is a maniac driver though BTW ... just sayin. TFTC
Found this cache while on our way to the Winter Warmer Event. We didn't think we would have to cross over the barrier to get this one.

found w Atomz and tommuygun9. nice hide though its very public and hard to be discrete.
A pre-winter caching trip in and around the Gorge Roads and back via the Pahiatua Track.
A frosty start to the morning on the Sledge Track and then into some drive-bys
This was nicely hidden with accurate co-ords for a quick and easy find

Finding caches on way to catch ferry sometime this week. Found most of them between or in showers.TFTC
Visiting Palmerston North for 'Yesterday's Treasures' on Saturday, so today, while friends went hunting for more treasures in Woodville, I went hunting for my treasures. Soon it was time to join them for lunch so found this on my way to Woodville.. TFTC.
7:07:00 AM. Home for a week to catch up with the family. Out for a look around Palmy and catch up on a few caches. They have certainly sprung up in the last last 3 years since we were last back. A trip to Napier and back back today to show the better half a bit more of the country. Wanted to do the jet boat trip through the gorge but the water is to low. A quick grab while the better half took photo's. TFTCSL
Great little hiding place, left an Australian coin. Picked up the travel bug to help it on its way to its final goal via australia, drop off in the next couple of days
On a quick road trip this morning from Hastings to Bulls and back by 1pm. Managed to grab a few caches along the way and this was one of them. Great lookout view and a decent sized contained, which a travel bug has been placed into.
Thanks for this cache.
Thanks for this cache.
So many big trucks. Like mini earthquake every couple minutes. No wonder there are so many slips on the road side of the gorge. Saw a train come thru the other side while signing. Cool. PINO TFTC
Last time I drove through here I was on my own making retrieval a lil hard, this time with Davycrockpot as a passenger he could pop out and grab it. TFTC
Found while travelling north to Hastings after watching my grandaughter playing soccer in Palmerston North. TFTC.
The river is very dirty today and is not a white horse in sight but found cache ok.Thanks.
We made a brief stop to find this cache while driving through the gorge. The White Horse Rapids were looking quite impressive. Thanks for showing us.
First find of the day Setu got this one as I (curst) sat in the car and directed him in the right direction - TFTC
Hubbys 10th find for the day not to many driving muggles. great view. cache is in good nick with heaps of swaps. Thanks for the cache
Our last of the day. Luckily the gorge wasn't busy so we were able to park and make it a quick grab. Nice view. Dropped off the 2nd of our teahan family travel bugs. TFTC.
early morning find made fro a quick getaway before needing to get ready for work for the day, glad that the light was coming up
Quick find on our way up to the Clive CITO event.
Wouldn't normally have delayed the start of a caching roadtrip to do one so close to home, but there were so little cars in the gorge today that it was a perfect opportunity!
Thanks for the cache. The horses were rather wet&wild today!
