Have removed the cache - as the condition of the cache has deteriorated past the point of repair. Cannot guarantee a replacement, as the owners are moving out of town next year. Perhaps thegingermoose might adopt this cache site.. who knows???!
Happy caching,

Found it - A bit damp!!! Good hiding place although a little obvious TFTC - even if it is my brother's!!!
TFTC, one of six for the crew today. Owner needs to do some maintenance when he is finised exams!!!
Found quickly once finding the right path. The nail seems to be missing but like any good student I had a bottle opener on me which opened the time no problem.
The contents are a bit rusty but they are dry enough.

Cache was easy enough to spot since it stuck out really well. Trouble trying to get the container open though, sticks aren't to good for opening this. TFTC.
getting pretty rusty, and found difficult to open. maybe a change of container would be good?
I don't know if I found an easy way in or not, but I got there without any trouble. Car keys are good for opening those things. Thanks for the fun.
Found pretty easily, came in from the top down the slippery bank, fortunatly it was reasonably dry.

Found at 3:58 pm, second cache today following someone else. Had forgotten to take tool for opening tin, but managed with a plastic peg. Cache quickly found, GPS spot on, and the wee track took me right there.
Swaps are very mildewed, Log book damp but usuable.
added new plastic peg person.

Never been up this area of town before. Took me awhile to find the right track, and then a bit of hunting around once I got to GZ. Cache is a bit damp, and items have started to rust. Dropped off Geocoin.
Started off by trying to get to this from below after stopping at the domino. BAD idea. After approaching from the suggested direction found easily.
the log is a bit damp tho.

Nicely hidden little tin but seriously damp and contents becoming rust stained. Cool hidey hole and a nice day for a walk in the cool bush. Took golf tee and left Phoenix inflatable sticks. TFTC
After several prematurely aborted night attempts, it was surprisingly simple at day. Lid was tricky to remove (had brought a pen though). TFTC
Quite a mission to get to in the dark (from the side that I approached from anyway). + Travel Bug.
Well this would have been a easy cache if it was a nice day however it was quiet difficult to get to on a wet winters day. Mein deutch ist nicht so gut aber es war nicht notig. DFDC (Danke fur das cache). Mein deutch lererin would sein glucklich.
this cach was an exalent hide but the GPS said the cache was 13mrs away at the sight
This one has been eluding us for months. The old adage "Third time lucky" applies. Was in the area with a few minutes to spare and thought I'd give it a go. Once again (fourth time) Birdflu was last to visit. TNLN TFTC
Quite a few fallen baums. The cache needs to be repaired/replaced due to severe rust. What a cool idea for a title.

An interesting excursion to an area of the Town Belt I've never been into before. The track I took down went above some pretty steep drops! Much wandering and scrambling following the elusive GZ and a number of fallen baums. GZ finally stabilised, but it still took a very thorough search to uncovert the cache. Have left it not quite so well concealed! As other people have said, way out is quick and easy.
Note to mat&hamish- the tin is starting to get rusty inside.

Glad to find, an interesting container but was very wet inside. Nice of the last cacher (Bit-trekker?) to replace the plastic bag with a new one. We dried out the contents thoroughly with a tissue and placed the cache inverted to reduce leakage. TFTC

Not knowing the location to enter the bush, we scrambled down the first bank that our silly GPS had lead us to and that turned out to be not the best place at all . It was very steep at places and we wondered if we could easily climb back up again, but the lure of the cache pushed us forward. After a short wonder around the bottom, we soon found the cache. The contents were damp and we replaced the snaplock plastic bag holding the log book with a new one as the old one was damp and holey. We came out via another track that was way easier. Overall, it was a short but an interesting hike into an area we would not have normally ventured. TFTC.
Spent 30 minutes looking for this one - relatively difficult under tree cover
Glad to have found this one finally having tried a couple of time before.

Found quickly just before the weather packed in. Liked this as far as town belt caches go - our GPSr is no good under trees so some of the other town belt caches are a needle in a haystack for us. TNLN, TFTC.
Easy find in the end, (scramble, scramble), found it with Lindas'lot and took the easy way out!!
Internals a bit damp, zip bag holed (didn't have a spare with me unfortunately).
No slips in the dry, thanks, TinkyWinky.

Ground fairly dry at this time of year and no issues to get to GZ. As mentioned by others contents getting a little damp.

Woohoo my first find with my new GPSr! Took me straight to the cache - very nice wee spot TFTC!
great spot took me two goes 1st try i was off about 100m from the cache site tftc tnln
Thanx, nice spot to sit and have a cheats tea whilst the youngster blats about at the park enjoyed a nice wee stroll down a dry (thankfully) bank and relatively quick find, cheers
Well that was a bit of a scruffle around to locate. Slightly damp with damaged bag. No way to sharpen pencil. No sign of the nail but a car key sufficed. Used to slide, crash and bash and hurl clods at each other all through here as a kid. Great place. TFTC, TFTM. -lizard, +3 frogs
went on a nature walk with the kids. Master four was sure he heard an eagle, I reassured him it was just one of those huge wood pigeons "will it eat me?" came the reply. Think we need to find some more nature walk caches for some more education.
Miss 6 found this one with a little prompting.

We called past today on one of our 'geocaching missions'. It is adviced that you bring something to lever open the cache as the nail originally placed with it has gone.
Also it appear that there has been an amout of water in the cache. Please tell us in your log if the book needs to be 'dryed' etc.
Cheers,
Smallishmatandbighamish

Even more fun in the dark, I really needed that clue as the GPSr was all over the place. Pryed the lid off with the ever present Swiss Army Knife and signed my scribble. TNLN Thanks.
Nice wees spot and our last cache of the day. 22 in all found.
Thanks Bitsprayer

Followed instructions - a very easy find. Found the nail, too. And had the spot all to myself. No swaps, thanks and cheers from Grandalf(886)
Walked up from OB's. Very Muddy. Took some friends for their first cache.

1543. We scrambled around the hill a bit and in the end the GPS zeroed in nicely. The day was definitely clouding over at this point so it was time for us to leave Dunedin as we really had only stopped by for a cup of coffee!

Would have found it a whole lot faster if I'd thought more about the title. Never mind.

Found fairly easily by my little girl. Reception was actually quite good. Left a Skycity souvenir, and took a marble. Thanks for the cache.
Went to cache site today, after reading Kiwichris note. It appears that the cache is still there, and in working order.
Good Luck with your future caching

Dropped past to pick up some TBs to take to Taiwan next week, but couldn't find it. Either it has gone, or I am blind or my memory is faultier than I thought.
This geocache seems to be a through point for a number of TBs, which is great. I hope you didn't end up here while you were orienteering W.E.K.A! we were also in the Town Belt south for orienteering.

Co-ords spot on this time. Went pretty much straight to it. Cut myself while fossicking around for the cache . Nice little spot of bush that I've never explored before.
Found it this time!
Went back to where we were looking yesterday, and had a better look.
No GPS coverage in bush at 08:40 so I can’t confirm the co-ordinates.
This cache is Kid friendly and using the “Additional Hints†it is possible to find the cache even when there is no GPS coverage in the bush. TFTC
+ Domino from you nowhere.

Had to go out and collect one of the juniors. This was directly en route (well the parking spot was!) Took about 10 minutes to find. Nice chance to hone the night caching skills - thanks.
Lunchtime dash with The Bohemian and Hamsterman. Reception not so flash so had to check a few likely suspects first. Still, nice little piece of woods for a cache TFTC.

Spent 20 minutes searching but no luck. Have a funny idea I was in completely the wrong area as I didn't see anything that could be described as potentially a "steep muddy descent" and were I was would have been easier to access from City Road than Sligo Tce. GPS reception was wobbly but was taking me to a broadly similar area each time I retreated into open space to get a fix.
Briefly inspected the site, but did not conduct a proper search, as the area did not match the description - no Fallen Baum I could see, no mud bank of any sort, and as U.N.C.L.E. pointed out, the coords put me just off City Road, not Sligo Terrace. Maybe there is a typo in the coords? GPS reception was pretty good when I visited.
This obliviously is not a good start - will check the coordinates after school hopefully tomorrow or maybe thursday.
Sorry Mat

Another FTF. This time I had noted the log entries saying the co-ords may be wrong. So I approached from Sligo Terrace from the east and worked towards the supposed co-ords. After examining many "specimens", with the help of my torch, I saw the glint from a can. I had the cache located at S 45 52.261 E 170 29.544 (accurate to around 6m, holding the GPS up high to a patch of sky at about 3m from GZ). So that is about 98m the co-ords are out. Found at 6:30 pm.
Thanks for the cache. No swaps.

I am very very sorry, as i saved the waypoint in my gps incorrectly, Thank you very much gibler.
Had a short look round the area of the co-ordinates but it did not match the description, so we moved over to an area that was a better match but ran out of day light at about 17:30. Logged in at about 21:15 and see Gibler has found the cache and by the look of it we were so close, looked at a few fallen baums but did not find it, well done Gibler.
Wow, coords almost 100m off, and you still found it - very well done Gibler!
