We climbed down like mountain goats but no luck. If the cache is there, the terrain rating is definitely not 1.5! Great views though Smile

That was a windy, hairy drive up! Met another car at the top. What a beautiful view The cache was retrieved pretty quickly and the geokids were thrilled to make swaps. Log is damp. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC!

This was my second attempt at this cache. Last time it was very wet underfoot and I wasn’t prepared to be a mountain goat into the the barbed wire fence. Today it was a lot drier after the summer and early part of autumn. The ground was still very steep and the fence was still there but I managed to get down to fence level with no injuries. Once at GZ , which my device indicated very accurately, the cache was located easily and retrieved. Contents err dry but dirty, especially log book. I took the trackable which has been there quite a while. The cache isn’t visited often and obviously not every cacher who visits take the trackables. As I said on my previous log the terrain here is way more than a 1.5 rating one. Thanks for bringing us here anyway.

Today we explored Korumburra and surrounds using Geocaching as a guide and picking up a few caches on the way and this was one of them. An easy find. Enjoyed the trek up to the top of the hill in the 4x4.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

26-May-17
Looked at everything possible in area of 1.5 terrain. The spot I suspect is where the cache is well beyond that terrain, especially with broken branches everywhere obstructing access. More like 3.5T! Thanks for bringing us to this great view of the town.

25-Mar-17
First find of the day, with +wife and our Geomutts. Nicely hidden. A little bit moist but nothing that an hour in the sun wouldn't fix. Followed the geotrail to GZ. Interesting that no-one has found it since Kate was here. Our friends in Loch told us about this lookout so we checked the app and discovered your cache.

18-Jan-17
Very disappointed to get all this way with a dnf. Will keep my eye out for co to confirm it's still in place

21-Dec-16

Hi there Nav Nuts. We found your cache "Up, Up & Away" at 12:44:00 PM today. This cache makes our find count 12611.
[Blue]
We are staying with relatives in Warragul, and our cache run today was started at a random cache on the map. We then navigated to the one the GPS said was next closest etc.

The cache is outside the fence so it can be legally accessed.

We ended up logging 22 and DNF'd 1.
[/Blue]
Coordinate Accuracy: We found the cache around 5m from where the GPS said we should be looking. Wink
Cache Condition: The container and log book are covered in black mould.
Took: Nothing.
Left: A Smiley Badge if the cache was large enough.

Thanks for the hunt,
Regards
Ian & Penny.

Attempted this one today. I got right up to the cache location but was unable to find the cache. I suspect that you may not be able to legally get to this cache anymore.

Decided to come up here to catch a sunset and find a cache. Dunno how many times I've been up here during my lifetime. The road seems much narrower these days, but the view just as good. Log was a bit damp but otherwise cache ok.

Camped at Korumburra, and even with light rain, we went out to pick up a few caches.

A very narrow road, but no traffic. The views are worth the drive.
Cache was found after a short scramble.
Many thanks for placing this cache, Nav Nuts, for us and others to find.

04/10/2014 >2.30pm - Didn't get to gz. Didn't like to look of the single lane road when we were part way along so decided to turn back - with dgfb33 & geogran1937

04-Oct-14
To the cache owners:- You should add to your description of the access road that it is one lane only and meeting a vehicle will be a problem, rather than have members find this out when they are actually on the road. You only say narrow, not how narrow.

21-Sep-14
What an amazing place. The views are very impressive. I am certainly glad that I did not meet any other cars on this narrow little road, but once at the top of was totally worth it.
Took a bit of a 'detour' to get to GZ and had to use the hint but as soon as I found it I realized there was an easier way to get there. Oh well, the adventure was worth it. Thanks for placing this cache is such a great place. TFTC

15-Aug-14
This was our second attempt at this one.. Arrived at GZ around 10pm.. Searched a while in all the obvious places.. Reset our tools and were quickly rewarded with cache in hand.. Log signed, cache returned..

Thanks Nav Nuts for bringing us here... A long narrow windy road... But once you reach the top... Breathtaking views of a beautiful little town Smile

29-Mar-14
So pleased that we didn't meet any traffic coming in the opposite direction along this goat track of a road. Instead of enjoying the view I was trying to look around each corner for cars, and imagine how on earth we would get past each other or where we would back up to. Fortunately there was no traffic. This is a cache we've been meaning to do for quite a while, and grateful to find the cache. I have visions of kmps in his motorhome...... Thanks for the adventure Nav Nuts

08-Jan-14
Last found on the 8th May last year. When we read this we nearly decided to pass it by but then decided as there had been no DNFs to give it a go. In practice it was a relatively easy find and a fantastic view of the town made it well worth while. TFTC

09-May-13
Not a lot of room to turn the motor home around up here. Thanks Nav Nuts FTC.

26-Apr-13
On the way home from Fairbank I had noticed this cache being unfound by us in the area, looked at the map and found the way to the cache. A nice drive that was quite windy, but in the end arrived at GZ and located the cache. Signed the log and replaced before heading home.

Thanks for the cache

11-Dec-12
A lovely (hot) sunny day with no school and the day off for day1976 - perfect day for caching. Our day started with a morning rush to get out of the house, then calmed down as the day progressed. At 4:30 we finished our hunt with a stunning 14/19!!! (stunning for me (: (:)

Brilliant views. TFTC

11-Dec-12
What a brilliant view at GZ. A steep walk through some very long grass made a hair raising experience. Didn't see any snakes, but I am sure they saw me!

08-Nov-12
I just loved the drive up to GZ. Great views along the way and also at the end. The grass was very long and I had to be careful walking down to GZ because I couldn't tell how far down each step was going to be. Found the cache without too much difficulty. Thanks for the drive, the views and the cache.

19-Sep-12
Found this one two days ago. Had a few hours off, so I parked at the bottom of the hill and spent about 40 minutes slowly trudging up to the top ( I needed the fitness!)
A beautiful walk with beautiful views, apart from the few dead foxes that have been hung on the fence next to the road, which stink downwind from them. Tricky find still once I got to the top! I found it easiest to follow the fence line from further down the hill. TNLN TFTC!

24-Aug-12
Decided it would be a good day for a drive as i would have all the public places to myself, just as long as i could brave the icy wind and driving rain. I remember the school doing a walkathon of 10 km, so we all walked up to the top of this hill then back down to school. The road certainly hasn't changed much. Great location. TFTC.

18-Aug-12
My favorite cache of the day! I loved the little winding goat-track road. On the drive up I passed a local who was jogging backwards up the track in the pouring rain.. he waved back but looked at me with a quizical look like he was pondering why I was driving up here at 8am, but hey, I wasn't the one jogging backwards up hill in the rain!! The weather timed it nicely and cleared up breifly as I approached the top. What a view, totally worth the detour. Thanks Nav Nuts!

02-Apr-12
Great view. Definitely need boots and long pants for this find

08-Mar-12
I drove up in my Focus. Two cows on the road near the top wouldn't let me drive passed. I wasn't about to reverse down that narrow steep track. Tried lots of things and finally the last one mounted the embankment and the Focus crept by. Whew! Cache was great! Having long jeans on helped protect the legs. I enjoyed the company of cows in and out of the paddock as I signed the log.

22-Jan-12
TFTC Met a car on the way in but the 4x4 climbed the bank and allowed the other car to pass easily. SL SmileWas in good condition when we found it ..

Found this one while out on the motorbike today.WOW how did you find this spot, what a great view. Kind of creepy in its own way, I'm sure I could here banjo's playing up in these back blocks and the locals in the photo's weren't to happy with me.

12-Jun-11
Today we had a bit of an assault on the area going with a team comprising of walenators, wileyclan and Earthbound Chief, which ended up being quite long and fruitful!

After an intersting drive up the hill where locals didn't seem to want to share the road with us, we arrived at the top and admired the view. It must have been good as it dragged the fourth member of the Earthbound team out of the car finally! Afer a little while we headed off in search of the cache where it was decided that I was the one going in for the search. I soon enough had it in hand and we were on our way once more

Thanks for the cache and for showing us this lovely place Nan Nuts

Cheers Cool

30-Mar-10
Not a bad view from up here! The country style crash barriers seemed to work - we didn't roll down the hill! We found a bonus at the gz in the shape of some eyewear which we'll try and track the owners down. The cache was located easily by myself but the container had a few cracks in it. I placed it back so that it would minimise water entry, but a new container would be best. No swaps today. TFTH.

Elmer.

This was another of the roads I took today that was definately not the best on a big road bike. I was glad that GZ wasn't at the very top. Great views again from one of Nav Nuts' caches. TNLN Thanks for the cache.
