### **OWNER MAINTENANCE REQUIRED PLEASE** ###

----------

Hi there RobF1977,

It looks like this cache might need some attention, as one or more seekers have indicated there is an issue. The cache has been temporarily disabled, so as to remove it from search listings and discourage people from visiting this location until the issues/s with this cache can be addressed.

**You do need to respond in some way within 14 days, so others know you are on top of it, as well as indicating exactly what is happening with this placement - please don't let a lack of communication scuttle this listing.**

#What should you do now:-#
You have a number of choices so pick the one that applies from this handy list:-

- **Check On The Cache:-** Visit the cache and repair and/or replace or do whatever else is needed, post an [**Owner Maintenance log**](http://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=404) indicating the cache has been checked and [**ENABLE your cache**](https://support.groundspeak.com/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=235 ). Then sit back and wait for the logs of praise to roll in.

- **Place A Write Note Log::-** Reviewers don't have a crystal ball, so without your note on the cache page explaining that the site works are on-going, or you have been in hospital, or the area is in flood, they can't tell what is going on with the cache.
So please just post a note to the page (within 14 days) and when a Reviewer next looks at the listing, all will be fine for a little bit longer.
**Be sure to indicate the actual date that you expect to have it fixed so that everyone knows you are on top of it. If you have a long term unavailable cache (where you don't have an actual date) please ensure you visit the page and post a note every 4 to 6 weeks, so as to keep everyone up to speed.**

- **Adopt/Archive:-** If you don't plan on fixing it then you could consider passing it on to another geocacher by asking them to [**Adopt it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=54) or alternatively, you need to [**Archive it**](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=56), so it is removed from searches and someone else can have the spot. Don't forget to remove any remnants of your previously enjoyed cache too.

You might wonder what happens if you don't pick one of those. Well, if nothing happens, then a few weeks from today, when a Reviewer next looks at the cache page, it is likely that they will, unfortunately, have to de-list (Archive) on the basis that it has been abandoned.

Honestly, I'd rather you decide so please do something before then. Please don't send me an email but instead follow the information/advice posted above.

**JUST A TIP:-** Have you checked out the new Geocaching Dash Board designed to assist a Cache Owner in managing the caches they own? Have a read about it [**HERE.**](https://www.geocaching.com/blog/2020/07/welcome-to-the-cache-owner-dashboard/?newsletter=PM) You will find your very own dash board [**HERE**](https://www.geocaching.com/play/owner?utm_source=geocaching&utm_medium=blog&utm_campaign=COD).

Thanks for your cooperation,

Bunjil

I am not as smart as previos hunters. There is no sign that you need to do the calculations. And I have NO idea where to start searching but tried and failed.

The calculations let to a spot inside the power station on the wrong side of the fence. So we headed that direction inside the park and located the cache quickly.

There’s no board called making electricity. I think the boards have changed. The coords we got were out in the actual complex. And decided we would just walk around and try to locate the cache as previous finders stated. Should have read the comments before I bothered with the numbers anyway. This probably needs revising or maybe a geochecker would be nice.

Finally found it after walking around and splitting up. Many eyes make it easier. Tftc

Took us a while but we found it in the end. Added some more log paper in too.

A couple of weekends ago we were going past gz and thought we would collect the information to calculate this multi at home. We expected to be back visiting family in the coming weeks. I made the calculations but like others have mentioned, thought the maths process was a bit odd. Although my final gz was reasonably close by I was pretty sure there was a fence to keep the public out of the area I had calculated. I checked and rechecked my numbers, then read some previous logs.

We decided we would treat this as a field puzzle using the south coordinate and geo sense as our guide. There were a lot of trees & branches scattered around after the recent wild weather from a week ago but the cache was found safely concealed.
Thanks for an unusual multi that we could’ve completed on our initial visit.

After rolling out the swag last night by the beach near the Powlett River, I continued my trip east today, visiting some interesting places and grabbing a few selected caches along the way. It was terrific weather for it too.

However, if I am going to make Queanbeyan by early next week, I really need to get a bit more focused and stop being distracted bu all the interesting places to visit!

This multi provided an opportunity for a closer look at the power station and was completed quickly and easily.

Thanks RobF1977 for the cache.

We read the notice boards and then resorted to reading previous logs as the calculations just didn't work out. We then parted company and began to search the area looking for likely hiding places and after several minutes Mr Team GBS got lucky - in fact he got lucky twice as he also found an owl nest with the remains of hatched eggs! We signed the log book and then replaced as found. Thanks so much for the cache and for the interesting information on the cache page. Greetings from Zimbabwe

Camped at Gormandale after returning from Tasmania. Out for a few caches today. First for the day, maths for this cache gives a nonsensical answer, but a quick look around the site soon turned up the cache. Took nothing, left nothing. TFTC

While our calculated coords were 180m out i was about to check our Math when geohubby located the cache through deduction. Tftc. Needs a new logbook.

Heads up: this cache needs a little work. It's possible to find the cache, but the puzzle to find the co-ordinates doesn't work properly (possibly due to a new sign board being installed?) - but a little searching around the park should turn it up. The only thing I suggest, though, is to wear gloves when retrieving the cache, or at least have hand sanitizer at your disposal... A lot of the likely places for caches had animal poop scattered around, and GZ was no exception
Having said that though, this is a nice little park (peaceful, even if it isn't exactly "quiet"), and it's a good spot to appreciate how much work goes into electricity production. TFTC!

We have been here before and had the answers and not been able to convert the maths, it had been on our must try to work it out list and today was the day.
Info read, answers found, conversion maths still no good. Off you go kids find the cache..... but where? anywhere you think would be a good place to hide one! Phone a friend.... and just as they were helping there it was!

A quick find, having read previous logs i thought id have a quick look around the area at a couple of places where i thought I might hide a cache. A few minutes of searching had me distracted by some big kangaroos just over the fence, so of course i thought id try to get as close to them as possible, but they decided not to stick around. I figured it was time to head back and try to solve the puzzle to get the co-ordinates. As i wandered back i thought "thats somewhere id hide a cache" so i had a quick look and the cache was soon in hand and log signed.

This is an interesting place and the kangaroos where definitely a highlight, thanks for putting a cache here.

So I thought I’d give this multi a go since I’ve virtually cleared the local area out of caches. I looked at the instructions the day before and previous logs and decided I’d just give it a go looking around in the obvious spots first. Pulling up there were a few cars parked nearby which made me anxious thinking muggles might have been watching what I was doing but I didn’t see anyone so soon assumed they had other things to be doing. After checking a lot of places I decided to go back to GZ and attempt the puzzle to at least get pointed in the right direction. I inputted some coordinates, heading off in the opposite direction to what I was looking at before. After looking in so many hiding places they were all starting to look the same and I couldn’t remember which ones I’d looked at and which ones I hadn’t! After giving up with the direction the coordinates had sent me I tried one last detour on the way back to my car and as usual the last place I checked before I was going to head off proved the be the hiding place. Thanks for the cache, glad to have a smiley on this one.

With "Power to the People" being the words on everyone's lips at the moment, it was interesting to check out the power here today. Ten years in place, this one is a stayer, perhaps it is all the numbers that keep it grounded.
When we finally reached GZ, there were two containers - one which is dry and has a small log; the other - cache trash, which we removed.

Thanks RobF1977 for placing this cache so long ago.

I had a good crack at this one today however I had to walk away defeated... I emailed the CO and asked for assistance however since I am leaving tomorrow and didn't get a response, it will need to wait till next time.

The sign is not called “Making electricity” however the sign there is called “Generating electricity” so I am not sure if the signs have changed since the multi was created?

I got very lost with the "T = (718 / L . BE(N+O)FF) (Round this to the closest 3 decimals)". The only logical way I could work this out was "T = (718) / (L.BE(N+O)FF)" however that placed me in a location that the public wasn't allowed to access.

Thanks anyways, maybe next time Sad

Today mission was to tackle the TST series in Taralgon South. After finishing that I decided to grab a few caches in the area. Had the cache in my hand in 5 min. Quick find of both caches only could sign 1 as the old one is soaking wet. Thanks AussieRAVer for the cache.

07-Mar-15
Went with AN&J ...
Like past searchers ... couldn't understand what this meant:
T = (718 / L . BE(N+O)FF)
is this normal mathematic notation?
.. ie does the full stop "." equal multiplication
is this meant to generate a single number?
When I applied the variables that I found into the equation I came up with an enormous number == millions!!
Clearly not correct.
To make matters worse .. I tried to cheat by just using the Latitude ..
alas this came up with a latitude that put us outside of the tourist area ... so I doubt that is correct either.
Left feeling sad .. Sad

After doing the fireworks for the Traralgon show last night we decided to spend the night and clean up a few of the local caches and then head home via a road that we don't travel to often.
This is our third visit to this site but we have always seemed to be muggled out, today we were quite happy to find that we were the only ones here and as we had already had the answers we were able to head straight to gz for a nice easy find and happily added our name to the log.
Thanks AussieRAVer for the cache.

Kato potato and I found this on our second attempt - thanks to Hurtle for the nudge in the right direction. Our calculations were rather dodgy but we got there in the end - both cache and replacement cache/log were present in hidey hole - thanks to whomever replaced the sodden original. Dropped off a travel bug that wants to visit sites of power generation in Australia - this cache seems perfect for it!

We had looked off this one in the past and like other cachers had found yes, the maths just doesn't work. Like previous cachers again we had also looked round in the area but we had no luck.

We worked this one out many years ago but we must have entered the coordinates wrong as it was taking us to a place that was not here.
Today was a different story and as i was on my way home I stopped off for this cache. I had read about the demise of the cache container and armed with a new 100ml sistema container I made my way to the GZ.
It was pretty easy to see where the cache was and after a minute I had the cache in hand. The cache was full of water and the log book was soaked. I replaced the original container and have now placed the new sistema on top of it for future finders.
myself included I think there would be many cachers happy to adopt this cache should the owner not wish to keep it, however in the meantime all is good to go on it.
Our thanks to AussieRAVer for the cache

Log is soaked and smelly. Container not really suitable, as it's not watertight. Calculations may also need checking, possibly due to a new information board?

28-Jan-13
Driven past here dozens of times, but usually after hours. This afternoon the gates were open. Gathered the info, did the painful calculations, only to find the final location in an area out of bounds. The numbers need reviewing, I think. Anyway, like others before me, I scouted around and eventually found the cache. A hint for future hunters: walk in the direction of the final, but only around 1/3 of the distance. Think like a cacher! The logbook was soaked, and the container unsuitable for outdoors. Needs maintenance.

26-Jan-13
Tried contacting the CO on 31/12/12 and still no reply. AussieRAVer's profile says they haven't logged in since June 2010 so not really sure that a 'Needs Maintencance' log is going to yield any results, but here goes..

The container was about 1/3 full of water, a couple of metal items were rusting and the log is completely soaked and starting to feel quite slimey. Unable to sign properly. The whole thing really needs replacing as the container is taking on water.

26-Jan-13
Looked for this one just over a month ago but just could not get the maths to work. Put it aside and decided we'd come back another day after contacting the CO for a hint. Emailed AussieRAVer on 31/12/12 but no reply. Contacted a fellow cacher who we knew had found this one before and they supplied a hint - Yay! Came past at 6pm tonight and spotted one gate still open, so we decided to duck in and have another look now that we were armed with a hint!

Found the cache but it was very, very wet inside. Tipped the water out but the log is soaked and is starting to feel quite slimey. Attempted to sign it, but like frigidor before us we weren't able to sign it properly. TNLN

without maths without gps or iphone but I did get a tall clue from a previous finder, which I probably did not need just hadn't wandered to the right side of look-out yet. Definitely not your usual look-out I enjoyed the walk around, whilst squatting down to sign log, a curious maggie with a mouthfull of nesting materials, just wouldnt leave me alone staying within a metre of me at until I slowly walked away.. :}

will add a photo when iphone app. is working again, its been out for two days, not sure what is going on with the site ???

I only have an old Garmin car satnav which I can't enter co-ords manually into (anyway, mathematics is not my forte).

However, after reading the previous logs, I decided to take a chance with this on a nice sunny afternoon and have a go. Found it after a short while – a nice challenge – and the clue was a huge help Smile. Took the eraser (was tempted by the silver “moolah”), and left a leather key holder. Container contents were a bit damp (no doubt after recent rains), but nothing too serious yet to worry about.

Thanks AussieRAVer for this interesting cache.

(P.S. For those interested, there is a Powerworks mini-bus tour of the actual power station and the nearby pit – well worth it.)

This one started with us parking in the visitors carpark... wrong place. Discovered our mistake and slightly embarrassed drove to the lookout. We read the previous logs and hoped we could manage to do it like some previous cachers without attempting the maths. Nup. Found the possum nest, not there. Poked around and nothing.
Resorted to the mobile phone to work out our sums, and eventually, and it took a while, the cache was in hand

Didn't want to go for a big search so ended up ringing cache owner for a small clue, found it shortly after where i thought it may of been. Thanks AussieRAVer for the cache.

1745h. Last for the day 22/22 with no DNF. Hillbridge is getting better at the down and dirty ones. But I think spiders will win out for a few more caches. Will wait and see how his cache hunger goes. A great day from one side of the Valley to the other.

How lucky can you be! After recent events the gates are now permanently locked so we had to con a nice security lady to open the gates for five minutes - just enough time to run to GZ and record a find. Thank goodness we had done some homework prior to the visit. The next nearest cache is in the same predicament - "no visitors allowed". Will keep an eye on these two locations to see if there is a future change of policy. This is an informative site and has some impressive figures. It is a pleasant area for a picnic stop and has nearby barbies however is under utilized by the public. Thanks AussieRAVer for the cache.
NOTE - Cache IS accessible again after a security problem caused gates to be locked - as of Nov 16th.

After the Hazellwood troubles the area was in lock down, we discussed our dilemma with security and they let us in to do the cache, TNLN TFTC.

My first geocache find. Wandered around with my iPhone trying to get the blue dot to match the bookmark. Took nothing, left nothing (unprepared!). There was about seven people tagging along with me, all non-geocachers but interested.

The maths is a bit convoluted but having learnt the hard way I now carry a calculator with me! Once at gz the cache was an easy find as it was actually visible. Thanks for showing me this spot which I found quite interesting with all the towers and chimneys.

We had no trouble with the calculations, therefore making it a quick find at GZ. It was terribly hot here today so we didn't hang around too long. It's impressive to see the power station up close – giving us a real sense of scale to the place! TNLN & SL at 12:30pm. TFTC and bringing us out here - we enjoyed it.

Slow day at work. Found without problem after a bit of a think tank about the maths involved. In the end went straight to it.

751. No way that I could make anything out of the maths required so instead I went for a wander and hand it in hand within a couple of minutes.

TFTC and the history.

#15 of 29 finds in company with acts2youthgroup on our 'East of Melbourne' Thursday adventure. We found this one at 1335. We stuffed up the maths on this one, which is not that surprising, considering the way the formulae are presented, and given that one of the calculations doesn't divide evenly. Anyhow, after a bit of wondering, we made a decision, and drove to "GZ". It turned out to be a washout, so we called a help line. Once we had found the cache, we revisited the maths, and worked out what was required. Perhaps we should have figured it out, or perhaps the maths could be simplified. [?] I made no exchange. Thanks to AussieRAVer for the cache. Cheers, dak.
