We are on a one week holiday road trip from Sydney to Brisbane to Sydney, with pre-booked accommodation at the Ingenia White Albatross Holiday Park in Nambucca Heads, the Big4 NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Resort on the Gold Coast, the Blue Dolphin Holiday Resort in Yamba, and the Big4 Leisure Tourist Park in Port Macquarie. Planning to collect some caches around our accommodation stays, and also stop-off for some targeted caches along the M1 Pacific Motorway route. Photos will be uploaded to logs after our return to home base.Today we drove from Biggera Waters on the Queensland Gold Coast to Yamba in northern NSW, spending most of the day collecting caches and Adventure Labs accessed from along the Gold Coast Highway, with a final stop-off at Burleigh Head National Park for Queensland's second oldest geocache (we did the oldest on our last trip in March). Then headed southward along the M1 Pacific Motorway, stopping for a break at Ballina for a cache at the Big Prawn and a visit to the Summerland Antique Centre, before continuing on to Yamba for the night. This was the 14th of 15 finds for the day (day 4), and 45th find of the holiday. This one was next on our drive down the Gold Coast Highway. Trekked up the steep winding pathway through Burleigh Head National Park and, after collecting a few Adventure Lab stages along the way, soon arrived at this cache and made a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. It's nice to be able to log the second oldest geocache in Queensland. TFTC sid knee.Find #7203

After a few days of caching at Lake Somerset, were now staying on the Gold Coast for a couple of nights before we leave the sunshine behind and head home to Melbourne.Finding a parking spot was our first challenge. Being a Sunday morning, every man, woman and child was out and about, and most seemed to be heading where we were going. The scenery was spectacular, and its easy to see why so many people use this track for exercise. Once we reached GZ, our next challenge was waiting out the muggles. While I stood as lookout, Steve grabbed the cache and passed the log to me for signing.Thank you sid knee for this golden oldie in such a picturesque location.

I am down under for the very first time. Visiting Australia has always been a dream of mine, and I cannot believe it has come true. Australia's nature and wildlife really captivated me. Over three weeks, I saw many wonderful beaches, sunsets, animals such as , and I found great geocaches. My tour guide was mostly geocaching, and through it, I discovered many beautiful places I wouldnt have seen without our great hobby. I mainly stayed in Brisbane but also visited other gorgeous places such as Noosa Heads and Springbrook. I spent a few days on the Gold Coast and Moreton Island, and I went to New South Wales to have visited a second state in Australia. During my stay, the winter and early spring in Queensland were very warm, the sun shone every single day, and I did not see a single drop of rain. My time down under was so beautiful and unforgettable. Australia is such a stunning country! Today I spent another day in the Gold Coast. I really like this area and I discovered beautiful places. On this hot day I cycled all the way along the wonderful coast from Tweed Heads to Burleigh Heads. I also looked for many geocaches like this one. At GZ I found the cache easily. After signing the log I put the container back as found. My 100 find in Australia. Thank you for this geocache says Mr. J. Cacher from the other side of the world

#5622Mathsnuts are over from the UK, staying with the in-laws in Springbrook. Mathsnut Junior specifically requested a beach day and friends recommended Burleigh Heads. After a pleasant few hours, that included some impressive cannon-balling into the water from Mathsnut Junior, we dried off then set off into the park to find this cache. The host was obvious as we approached and we soon spotted the cache. I signed the log, dropped off a TB that wants to go to the Gold Coast (success) and added some cards for Mega events in the UK, just in case anyone fancies them Smile TFTC

The lure of this caches age spurred us on despite the fading light as our car crawled through traffic. After all, it was described as a pleasant walk of a few hundred metres. We figured we could pull it off in minutes. Yeah, about that: parking was unavailable and the short walk turned out to be up a steep incline, pleasant possibly if you hadnt walked as much as we had all day. Think the cache would benefit from noting the incline as some cachers have mobility issues and should be forewarned. We ended up inadvertently doing our first night cache, not a bad spot to do one providing you have torches for the way down as roots caused stumbling hazards. Loved the views and the magic of the fireflys that we spotted on the way down.Tftc.

This was our first night cache as it was the last one for the day but got stuck in traffic from road works , got to parking lot on dusk no parks to be found so parked up the street not necessarily in the lines , found a path to the main pathway it kept teasingly saying we were getting closer but then we hit another zig zag and moved away from the GZ . All the while it kept going up and the daylight disappearing finally got to GZ in the dark easy find with the phone light. Tftc and adventure

This morning I went for a walk with my parents and my brother along the coast as far as the custard tart shop at Tallebudgera. While my brother caught the bus back I convinced my parents to come up the lookout so I could look for this cache (and the views). It was actually my dad who found it in its excellent hiding spot, and we both left a note in the logbook. One TB in residence, which I discovered but left inside. No signatures from yesterday's "finders".Since my parents moved overseas it's been ages since Dad and I have gone caching together like we used to, so this was a nice way to do that again - and a bonus that this cache is so old as well and will fill a space in my Jasmer grid! SmileI've attached some photos of the view from the lookout shortly after GZ. I enjoyed the walk and the views, and seeing the crazy bush turkeys in the trees!TFTC SmileKia ora from New Zealand (#2351)

Visiting South East Queensland for a week from Port Macquarie. Our last full day on the Gold Coast, today we tackled caches right down the coastal area, from The Spit in the North down to Coolangatta/Tweed Heads in the South. The weather today was prime for caching, with clear skies and lovely temperatures in the low twenties. This was our last find of the day and not only the most important, but also the best experience. We tried to climb up much earlier in the day but there was no parking anywhere, the first time on this trip we had no luck finding a suitable parking spot. Defeated, we left it until our return journey back up the coast in the late afternoon. The second time around we scored a prime spot right near the start of the track. After already doing a lot of walking and a couple of steep-ish climbs today, we were definitely rather puffed from walking up the headland. Managed to locate the container quickly at GZ. On the way back, at the lookout, we met a lovely and hilarious lady visiting Australia from China who wanted to know all about geocaching and we had a great chat as we walked back down together before darkness descended. Nice to tick off this somewhat famous cache. Thanks for the cache, giving it a FP

In town for an academic conference and found myself with an hour or so to spare before meeting up with others for dinner in Burleigh this evening, so headed down to the headland for a walk... I followed the path upwards, which was more of a trudge than a walk, but i was rewarded with the good bushland vibes and nice views along the way. This was quite a straightforward find along the way, and as I sat an enjoyed it's spoils I was surprised to find it was quite the aged cheese. The log is ever so slightly damp, but all is ok. Grabbed one of the 2 TBs within to continue its travels with me for a bit. Many thanks for the hide and keeping it in play for so many years sid knee. A FP has been duly added as payment for all the smiles.

I was the original owner of this cache, waaaay back. I follow it, and thanks to Sid Kneee, who mountains it now, it seems to be prospering. The reason I visited today, was to drop off two travel bugs which I hope will continue to travel the world I brought them around the world, having picked them up in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago.

I missed this one on my last two visits. When KTPops said are there any I wanted here, I took a moment to remember this one. Today on the way to the airport, KTPops wrestled with a relentless onslaught of cars jostling for parking spots that were not available. Eventually we found a park way south, and walked on in. Our legs (well mine) were dead from yesterdays 30,000 step monster walk through the Warrie Circuit so I was going steady at best. KTPops came through again with the 'found it' and I grinned with pleasure. Signed and returned, we are both pleased to capture this oldie. Cache in good condition, signed and returned as found. Find #9568. FP must be awarded of course.

My last Queensland stop before crossing the border, dropping off some TBs and visiting a cache thats been on my list for some time. More challenging walk than I expected but cooler than down the hill. I had a fair idea where it would be but it took searching a few of them before finding the right one. 13/10 would visit again, so +1 favourite point.Dropped 6 travelbugs and took the only one left within from the list, Ned & Fatty.TFTC Sid knee

This was one of the caches that my Canberra friends encouraged me to find. I love finding older caches. I appreciated the fact that I didn't have to climb a mountain to get to lit. LOL I appreciate that you all have kept this oldie in play. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:I was visiting from the U.S. and had a goal of driving all the way up the east coast starting in Melbourne and ending in Port Douglas over a few weeks. This day started in Byron Bay and ended in Brisbane. The distance was doable and I didn't load my list with caches. It was a good day. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but I do appreciate you.

Last cache of the day, parking really bad so with the promise of dinner as well, we parked well away from the drop zone and set off in the semi dark. Surprising number of people going the opposite way especially given the lack of remaining light. Anything for a cache and given it is the oldest in Queensland off we went. Quite a nice walk although the return was in full dark. TFTC

Woohoo, another Oldie is found!Without knowing, wifey choose again a campground near one of the old ones. Today after breakfast I started my hike, without the family, not knowing how easy the climb was. This hike is pretty easy and from the bridge it takes approx 20 minutes to be a GZ. It was not to busy so I head no hassle to find the container without being seen. The lid of the container is broken on one side but inside all is okay. Unfortunately none of the traceables was here. Logbook was signed, a litte trade for the boys (two eggs out and two goats in) done and then everything was placed again as found. I continued my walk again to the outlook to enjoy the stunning view. Great spot for the Cache. Thanks to sid knee for keeping this old one running! For sure I leave a fav point here.Basti2005 13. Mrz 2024 09:40

Danke fr diesen Geocache. Danke fr die Ausarbeitung. Danke frs Zeigen.Lieber Gru aus Duisburg / DeutschlandAndyDieser Logeintrag wird mit Hilfe von Google bersetzt.__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________We set off on a long journey with 37 geocachers from Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Three weeks to Australia and New Zealand, starting with a stopover in Doha, Qatar. I have never been so long and so far away from home. An exciting time. When geocaching, the focus was on many different cache types, but also special ratings, challenges and especially a few very old caches from the years 2000 and 2001. But also, of course, especially the geocaches that were easily accessible on foot from the hotel.Of course, the focus wasn't just on geocaching; the sights of the individual stations we visited also deserved attention. We entered our team name Downunder 2024 in the logbooks, saving logbook space and efficiently. It was a very special trip in a large team, which was also a lot of fun.Today was travel day again. Very early we went from Cairns to Gold Coast and, after a longer stay there with a few special geocaches, we continued on to Auckland in New Zealand in the early evening.Due to the large number of caches, there is usually only one standard log, for which I would like to apologize to the different owners. Thanks for this geocache. Thanks for the elaboration. Thank you for showing me.Kind regards from Duisburg / GermanyAndyThis log entry is translated with the help of Google.

Together with 36 other geocachers, the KiSt team undertook a very long trip to Australia ???? and New Zealand ???? for three weeks. On both the outward and return journeys, there was a stopover in Doha, the capital of Qatar ????.We experienced a great deal on this trip and gained many very different impressions of the two countries, their nature and their culture. Of course, the main focus was on visiting as many caches of as many different types as possible and also all accessible old cans. However, we also made sure to visit many special places of interest and to gain as comprehensive an impression as possible of nature and its flora and fauna. To save the logbooks, we usually signed in with our team name **Downunder24**. For "special" cans, however, we have not missed the opportunity to leave our nickname as well. This beautiful cache is now also one of our finds.Due to the large number of caches visited, it is unfortunately not possible for us to write an individual log for each can, which is why we would like to apologize to the owners for this collective log.We also met other cachers at some of the events and were able to share our experiences. Many thanks to the event owners!Of course we would like to thank all the owners for showing us the great locations, the sometimes tricky puzzles, exciting multis and wherigos, as well as the interesting virtuals and earth caches - TFTC!!!---In der Besetzung KiSt unternahmen wir zusammen mit 36 weiteren Geocachern fr drei Wochen eine sehr weite Reise nach Australien ???? und Neuseeland ????. Last day in Australia ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary continent and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. Stopover in Gold Coast and five hours layover. What do geocachers do? Make the most of the time and search for as many caches as possible. The place is beautiful ??. I love this stretch of coastline. We didn't want to miss out on an old cache like this, so a part of the team hiked to ground zero, looked around carefully and managed to free the container from its hiding place in an unobserved moment. We log with Team DownUnder24 to save space in the logbooks. Was machen Geocacher?

# 21450Whau, I am on a three week trip with Cacher-Reisen and a bunch of fellow geocachers to Australia and New Zealand. It is so odd to imagine that I am going to visit a place that is nearly on the opposite of the globe from my usual hangouts. In Denmark it is late winter/early spring, and I am exchanging the winter-part for late summer in Australia and early autumn in New Zealand. This is so exciting. The itinerary is Frankfurt (Germany), Doha (Qatar), Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns (Australia) and Auckland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin, Cromwell, Queenstown (New Zealand) before flying back to Europe. That will be two new continents and three new countries for me - and as far away from home as I have ever been. It is a lot of places and travelling, but we also have a plan to find lots of geocaches and see the sights and beautiful nature. In the wee hours of the night yesterday we all got up to go to the airport, headed for the next destination in Cairns. It turned out that that was not the right element for me with the heat and humidity. I had made arrangements to join the group on two boattrips, and all in all with a bit of seasickness, fatigue, jetlag and much more I think I would have been better off staying at the hotel. However, looking back on the trip now, I am happy that I went and also saw this part of Australia. Thankfully we also found a few caches in the area.We had a layover at Gold Coast Airport and some of us went for a trip to this old cache. Quite a hike to get up here because I had to keep pace with some of the younger men. However, a few days later I learned that one of the 'young' men were actually a few years older than me, but he is fit and fast. I had hoped that we had time to go to Brisbane for another old cache from October 2000, but we were stressed for time. Or felt stressed for time because it turned out that the plane was delayed. We caught an Uber to get here, and he had time to wait for us, so we hurried up to the cache. A group of kids listened to stories about their forefathers at the viewing point but we were allowed to move between them to snap photos. Beautiful area.Tak for cachen til sid knee.

Found this cache on a 24-day trip to Australia and New Zealand with a night of stopover in Qatar. In Qatar we have an evening and almost a full day of geocaching before we take the long flight to Downunder. In Australia we will visit the citys of Sydney, Melbourne, Aidelaide and Cairns. Our stays in New Zealand will be in Aukland, Rotorua, Wellington, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown. For me the focus will be on old caches, placed in 2000 and obviously on the remaining webcams in Australia and New Zealand. We are a group of 38 Geocachers from Germany, Denmark and Luxembourg. At geocaches that we visit as a group, we sign the logbooks with our team-name "Team DownUnder24" to safe the owners a lot of space in the logbooks. On the way from Cairns to Auckland, we had a 5 hour layover in Gold Coast. Checkin wouldn't open until 2 hours before the second flight, so we took a Uber to this cache.Merci frs Dosal sogt da GoanToni Thanks to sid knee for hiding and maintaining this geocache.

Hier haben wir uns nochmal die Meeresbrise um die Nase wehen lassen und ein paar Dosen eingesammelt.T4t$ sagt viko76 aus Berlin Today we leave Australia but before we go to New Zealand there is a stopover in Gold Coast. Here we let the sea breeze blow around our noses again and collected a few cans. T4t$ says viko76 from Berlin

Thanks for the placement and smiley. Targeted this cache as I needed a cache placed in 2001 and this quirky cache in a National Park was our choice.

Cel trasa mla asi 500 m jednm smrem, take se dala zvldnout v pohod i v tom vedru. Z New South Wales (NSW) jsem dnes dojela pes 6 dalch australskch stt zpt do NSW. Todays main goal was visiting the old cache Hotel Bravo near Gold Coast. So easy found so old cache I didnt expect. Nice views from lookout there. I left a TB there and send a FP. Than I left to Byron Bay. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Czech republic.

Decided to take a drive down the Pacific Motorway to Burleigh Heads to find one of Queenslands oldest caches. Great walk around the National Park on a wet drizzly day. Thankfully the rain held off long enough for me to find the cache. The wet weather kept the Muggles at bay and I had the GZ all to myself on arrival. Great ticking off another old Queensland cache from the list and plugging a gap in two of my challenges.Cache and log in good condition. TFTC. TNLN. SL. TBs Eddie Mac to New Zealand and Back, Prado Owl , Rawhide , Surrey Travel Tag and Kiwi Bird visited.Find # 1877.

I was embarrassed to see that I still had a travel bug in my possession, that I had forgotten to drop off so I scurried upon the hill to Bravo Hotel (I'm the original owner) to do the deed. To my dismay, though, it was not to be found! Out comes the phone, and it seems that I was some distance away. Bravo Hotel had been moved. I followed the instructions, though, no further problem was encountered, and the Happy Kiwi was dropped. I apologise to the owners of Happy Kiwi, for being remiss. Hopefully, the Kiwi will now continue his travels this cache gets a lot of international visitors, which thought would bode well for such an intrepid traveller.
