This cache has lasted quite a while - but it is time to archive this one since GZ was damaged by fire.

11-Mar-12
I'm afraid GZ is no longer suitable to hold a geocache... We came tonight to swap the log book, and could not find the cache in the tree where it had been hidden. Given its size, this seemed odd. We walked around to the other side and started wondering about the smell... burnt wood? As it turns out, half the tree has been burnt, very recently (a couple of days ago) and I doubt the tree will survive this trauma.

The cache is disabled now to allow for late logs. If you've solved the puzzle and just haven't picked it up, please go to GZ asap, and at least send me a photo of the plaque as evidence of your visit. I will archive this cache within the next few weeks.

This old gal remembers the daughter learning about prime numbers, so had to go re learn to work it out. Had solution for some time so another geo team could go at this one.

TFTC it was fun working this one out too. Also learnt that some plants may look soft and cute but have rather spikey teeth.

10-Feb-12
Oh.... What pretty green soft looking Pom Poms. Crap.... That hurt.... Not so soft. Out came the gloves. Lots of traffic here but they soon disappeared and geokid found it. Put some extra swaps in this fab cache. TFTC.

17-Dec-11
Found it safe and sound. Gloves were a necessity so cheers for the warning. Actually used to meet here for my high school cycling club so brings back a lot of memories. TFTC.

Traffic was a nightmare and a muggle was mowing his lawn not too far away. Serious ninja skills involved.

03-Oct-11
the puzzle brought back some memories that have been resident for more than 40 years.

Getting to the cache posed a problem as there were road detours in the area but I got there in they end.

Thanks for the warning but I read it too late. They are prickly aren't they?

A great puzzle and an interesting location. TFTC.

10-Sep-11
Ouch that hurt ......the recall of primes shattered the right frontal lobe.....but hey...if gets the cache....well done tfth

My first mystery cache. A nice easy riddle. I didn't realise all of the clues that I had at my disposal until I had solved it. TFTC. TNLN SL.

Cool puzzle. TFTC Big Grin

11-Jun-11
This one you have to go back in time. As far as primary school. To your maths class. It is those lessons that will help you solve this puzzle. Great spot for a cache but far too many muggles. TFTC.

#1441 Found on our way heading south back home after spending the evening in Toowoomba at a friends 40th birthday bash. Enjoyed the puzzle which led us to an impressive GZ. It also a very busy place on a Sunday morning so had to be a little brazen in between looking like a tourist. Thankfully soon had the goods in hand. TNLNSL Thanks lochb for the nice puzzle and placement [^]

Found with Krossbo at night. FInally worked out the puzzle (after looking at the numbers on the computer instead of the phone Red Face. . . It really threw me off the scent to working out the co-ords[:o]) and was able to mark this off our To Do list. I have frequently been less than 500m from the treasure but didn't realise the cache was just there!!! Red FaceTook Penny ~ Left Safety Pin. TFTC & Puzzle

Located cache today - Traffic is the main problem when grabbing cache. TFTC.

12-Aug-10
We also found the area to be heavy with traffic and need to wait for the right moment. SL TNLN TFTC

25-Jul-10
Good spot. Took lots of "photos" while the traffic went past.

08-Jul-10
The hardest part of solving the puzzle was one coord that the checker just didn't like. Finally got the mistake worked out and all was good. Found it straight away with not too much traffic around. TFTC.

Found it No. 2746 ... great tree .. TNLN

Found this gr8 cache on a caching trip to Stanthorpe. TFTC TNLN SL

26-Feb-10
Didn't have too much trouble with the puzzle. Pretended to read the plaque lots of times as traffic went past. Cache is dry and well. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.

14-Feb-10
I escaped the pods unscathed, but not so my companion, who had one spine embedded in her toe. Take some Stop-Itch or similar, as the wound started burning for her. Interesting but dangerous cache! TFTC ='.'=

Found while staying with family. We have returned to the great state of Qld after travelling around Australia for the past nine months. TFTF
I was never very good at maths but for some reason this worked out for us. What a tree.

The spot is a nice place but beware of the fruit of the tree.

We had solved this one ages ago and today was the day to see if the cache could be found.

We parked nearby - enjoyed the historical interlude and then found it.

An easy puzzle to solve and an easy cache to find.

The GZ was an interesting spot with a little history, and yes we did try to pick those things up and yes they had prickles. Red Face

Thanks lochb for an interesting puzzle cache! [^]

Found it. Gotta watch those spikey little prickels cos they HURT!

This cache has had me scratching my head, wishing I had paid more attention in 1974 during math’s classes and basically driving me nuts on and off for almost 12 months now. Finally decided I had to do it but even after some serious re-education and effort I still had 3 possible locations, so I went for the logical on not the one in someone’s house or the one in the middle of a paddock.
Thankfully my deductive skills are better than my mathematical skills and Mrs. RF made what she thought was a relatively easy drive by find. If she only knew the angst I have suffered to let her quickly find this cache.

Worked this one out at home and then came prepared with gloves to tackle the hispanic nuts!! Lots of traffic going by today, so pretended to be a nut inspector. TNLNSL. TFTH.

11-Jun-09
Found at 1520Hrs. Lots of passing traffic at this time of day.
Had a few problems solving the puzzle - I got the logic right but then made a silly arithmetic error! but still got it solved after a while.
Prickles didn't cause me any dramas as I came equipped with solid gloves, but there are lots of them!!
Thanks lochb.

06-May-09
Prickles!!! AARRRRGGGGGGhHHH! Nice Puzzle. Nice hide. Thanks Lochb for the assistance you gave me to put my head in the right mathematical frame of mind. I was all around the solution, but just needed your words of wisdom.

First one for the day. We got a bit of help with working this one out just couldn't see it, but it all became clear after a couple of e-mails Red Face. Out to GZ early this morning for a quick find while watching the local bike club stream past on their Sunday morning ride Smile thanks Birgit.

first went to the base coordinates by mistake... then found my solution.. so eventually went to the right spot and found ok.

thanks lochb for a bit of an easier puzzle then some of your other ones!!! grrrrrrr!!!

I have to thank La Kedi for working this puzzle out for me. Arrived at GZ armed with gloves but luckily didn't need them. TFTC

15-Feb-09
Found with The Marble and dizzyanne. I spotted the cache in the obvious spot as it was slightly exposed but let The Marble do the extraction (as she'd brought a glove) while I read the plaque. TFTC

15-Feb-09
I was a bit worried after reading all the warnings so we armed ourselves with gloves and began our mission! Left it all up to The Marble to risk life and limb. Thanks lochb for the history.

12-Feb-09
After some help from lochb was able to solve the puzzle and find the cache. TFTC

Tried a few different formulas to work the puzzle out. Finally the most obvious solution was beer. It worked. We solved it after a few beers with tcando. Took: fluoro pen. Left: ball. TFTC.

Sat at home in front of the computer last night working on my plan of attack for Toowoomba and saw this one. I love a challenge. Did remember my maths fom high school 40 years ago. Did not take long to work this one out and armed with the co ordinates and after having a look on google earth, google maps and the cache notes was armed with the location and a good sturdy pair of gloves. Quick easy find late in the afternoon. TNLN TFTC and the cahllenge.

It's like I still go to school had some help working it out before I went to get it. Found with Toey97, after reading some of the logs i took some gloves with me, lucky I did as those spikes hurt, ask Toey97.

Found with Nortney, she forgot to tell me about the prickles put my hand in and got a fist full of them, I think it'll take a week to get them all out and they HURT. TFTC.

After some initial more-complicated-than-necessary mathematical reasoning the answer to the puzzle came in a flash. I still have sore fingers from reaching for the cache...but a nice one to grab on the way to work. TFTC!

I had driven past many a time though it was great to grab a cache this time...thanks.

Found with geo-uncle lat&long junkie on our day caching in Toowoomba. My GPS had the right co-ords which made finding the cache that much easier. At least this makes up for last caching trip where I had the wrong numbers. TFTC

16-Feb-08
Motorvating along with 'Bedmaker' and as we approached an intersection, I said, "turn left, it's another 200 metres". Just then, his GPSr said, "beep". We both looked at it and it was indicating 10 metres to the cache [?]. Oops, guess I need a primer on those calculations Red Face. A short search later and the cache was in hand. What a great location. As 'Liz&Bruce' mentioned in their log, it just screams out for a cache. TN/LN/SL and headed off to find a hotel (TB) of course Big Grin.

15-Feb-08
Did our homework the night before so were ready to go to the final location today. We were amused to see it was a location we had picked out in our drives around town as a great cache spot. Well done lochb we enjoyed the cache.

21-Jan-08
Found the cache after doing the maths. Not too hard except that the verification programme told me I was wrong, and I was, as I forgot to change the N to S and W to E !! The GPS took me to within 1mt of the spot. Had fun getting cache in and out in the dark with lots of cars even at 1915. Opened in the car in the light and took the Cannon TB, but no sign of the Kiwi GC?? Left hand cream to soothe next person who prickles themselves as I did putting it back. TFTC

Well, don't I feel stupid. I have tried on and off for a while to solve the puzzle for this cache and even enlisted the help of my two sons, to no avail. But then after a complete change of strategy (can't say too much, spoiler) it was easy and my sons cursed me for not telling them sooner. So of we went and sure enough eldest son found the cache in about a minute.

Thanks for the puzzle and the opportunity to visit another interesting site in Toowoomba.

Great hide clues. Geo-daughter & I worked them out in about 10 minutes, and took about the same to find the cache. Thanks for the challenge. Avoided the prickles, however had head down and backside in the air looking through the leaf litter etc looking for the cache as a Police car drove past. half expected a please explain why we were disturbing the TCC landscaping.
T 2006 Kiwi Geocoin- will take to Atherton tableland in first week of Jan 2007.

I travelled out to the posted coords on my tour of 2woomba this morning and read the notes Smile
With no reason to rush, I sat in the car and began to nut out the problem. After half an hour I had arrived at 7 possible locations. Only 1 problem!! The coordinates were 3 miles out of town Red Face
I went after other nearby caches instead Razz
But the problem at hand continuted to nag me 4 the next 5 caches Smile
My 6th sense told me that I was close to the answer. I gave the problem some more thought at lunch time after finding the Dry As A Bone cache. As I 8, I scribbled and before long a few new ideas came to 9d Smile
My newly calculated ground 0 looked too good to ignore. So instead of continuing down the range and home, I detoured back across town to check out the location. As soon as I saw the tree I knew I was in the right spot. The prickles in my fingers as I type this log, continue to remind me that I was in the right spot Red Face
TFTC and puzzle (ouch!) [^]

Thanks to Bealla for pointing this out ... the roads around the cache are being dug up at the moment, for the new substation being built nearby. Construction work is expected to take a few months. Please do not attempt to get this cache during working hours Mon-Fri - or it will disappear very quickly!

In fact we got to the correct location and found the road maintenance crew, so had to leave it. Going back to NZ so can't try again later. Nice spot. Jacqui + Neil (NZ)

Ouch! I found it. [B)] Some of these prickly seed pods were in the debris that was covering the cache. Mrs Ink solved the puzzle and the GPS took us straight to GZ. This is a surprisingly busy intersection today and it is really cold and windy up on the mountain today.

Having met up with Steve and family onthe way to Toowoomba, I took the lead, bravely putting my car in front of his as the rogue kangaroo barrier.

As we approached the top of the range, he took off like a scalded cat (now the danger was over) and leapt in for the FTF on this cache.

I felt sort of OK after getting there and seeingt hat blood had been spilled from the sharp pin like seed pods surrounding this location.

Sadly, my joy was short lived as I then propelled 3 or 4 of the little blighters into my flesh.

Thanks to Lochb and Rowena for the minor surgery.

BWAHAHAHA I shall get my revenge on Steve later....

Thanks for the puzzle and the cache. SL 2 of 17 today

Nice hide, those nuts sure are sharp!!
Was hoping to be FTF but it looks like I was beaten twice by only a few minutes.
Took pencil sharpener, left highlighter. TFTC

27-May-07
There are needles on the seed pods - please be careful when you retrieve the cache. I will go to the cache in the next few days and make sure there are none of these covering the container.

27-May-07
Having met up with Rastas earlier, we managed to beat him to this one by a couple of minutes and nab the FTF! Paid the price though - in our rush to grab the cache & rehide it in time, we didn't give the seedpods enough respect and spent a few minutes pulling prickles out of fingers.

Shortly afterwards, the owner arrived to join us for our day of caching. We dropped off a Geocoin and picked up a TB.

24-May-07
Dropped off TB. Hope it will be found soon!
